How is everyone?

Is anyone else getting on as usual with booking hair appointments, dentist appointments etc? Feel like I want to get these sort of appointments done before I'm 28 weeks so I can shield myself as much as I can from this pandemic after 28 weeks as I've seen it's a higher risk if you get it after 28 weeks?

@Claudia3771 how are you doing?

LizzyAnna99 · 30/06/2020 21:10

@EBM20 I haven’t been shielding and I’m 37 weeks tomorrow, our region hasn’t had many cases though. I really wouldn’t recommend shielding, I attempted it and my mental health took a massive whack. I’m just careful about where I’m going etc. The guidance isn’t clear on pregnant women (it never is) as I know pregnant NHS nurses etc still having to work after 28 weeks! I would just try and avoid going out for no reason but I would still recommend going to do the food shop (if you were already doing that) and getting out as much as you can! 12 weeks is a loooong time x

Claudia3771 · 01/07/2020 11:01

@EBM20 Me and Elliot are back in hospital unfortunately. We got home for a day before I had to be admitted for sepsis!

I'm sick of the sight of hospitals now and just wanna go home. A week in here is horrible - especially with no visitors.

Lil Elliot is doing great though which is a relief Smile

EBM20 · 01/07/2020 13:58

@Claudia3771 oh no! Hope you have a speedy recovery! I bet it's hard with no visitors! Hope you get to go home soon, glad Elliot is doing well!
I had to go to hospital on my own at the beginning of the week as I was in extreme pain in my right side and I had not felt baby move since having the pain for 48 hours, they checked baby and he's all good and sent me home still in pain saying it's probably just ligament stretching. Still in pain now but not as much as the weekend! Second scare this pregnancy, hes keeping me on my toes already!

EBM20 · 01/07/2020 13:59

@LizzyAnna99 I can imagine it being hard on mental health! I'm finding it hard at the moment as I was supposed to start a new job at the start of lockdown and it's still not certain they are going to take me on still, been out of work for months now 😔

LizzyAnna99 · 01/07/2020 15:50

@EBM20 that’s rubbish! There is only so much you can do to prepare for a baby. I’m glad I’ve been able to work during all this and complete my college online, if not I think I would’ve gone batty by now 🤣

Lulubon · 29/07/2020 08:41

Hey how is everyone getting on? I'm 24 weeks now and was advised to semi-isolate again in 3 weeks 😬

EBM20 · 29/07/2020 09:25

I finally started work on Monday! A seasonal job at a local theme park, do as much or less hours as I want and they are happy for me to go a month earlier than the season ends to have my baby so I'm working for the next 15 weeks, then it's only 3 weeks until my due date!

@Lulubon why are you having to isolate?

Pol96 · 29/07/2020 09:34

Hi! I had my scan a couple of weeks ago at 12+6 and all looking good, I've booked a private one for 18 weeks to find out gender (3 weeks to go!) hope everyone is doing well!

Lulubon · 29/07/2020 10:01

@EMB20 that’s good news! Such a bonus to pick your hours.
I work in a hospital and after I’m in the third trimester I’ll be high risk again due to my heart condition. My consultant has been really good about it and has written a letter to my manager so I’m going to just chill until the baby arrives.
@Pol96 yay happy it went well! We had a private scan and it was a really lovely experience. X

Newbee123 · 29/07/2020 15:09

@Pol96 hi hun, I wasn't aware you can see the scan before 20 weeks defo going to book a private one now ! :D

Newbee123 · 29/07/2020 15:19

@Lulubon why do you have to isolate ?

Pol96 · 29/07/2020 16:23

@Newbee123 yeah window to the womb do gender scans from 16 weeks!

Newbee123 · 29/07/2020 16:59

@Pol96 that's so cool! Let us know how it goes all the best x

Slat3 · 29/07/2020 19:54

I’m due DC3 at 26 (I’ll be 27 when he’s born) and I had my children at 21 and 23. Know what you all mean re not fitting in, I remember with my first I would go to loads of baby groups & nobody would really talk. I met loads of other mums on a mums app (I can’t remember the name now!) basically like dating for mums which was interesting 🤣
None of my friends have children so I’m hoping this maternity leave I will find some new mat leave buddies, they never seem to last unfortunately as I’m super busy working full time but I’ll be off for a year.
Enjoy (I’m only 6 weeks so v early) Flowers

Pol96 · 31/07/2020 14:46

Welcome @Slat3 and congrats on dc3! I'm quite lucky as one of my friends is also pregnant (12 weeks ahead of me) so we've got people in rl to talk to!
