@DressingGown87 I'm really sorry you were feeling like that yesterday, hormones are up and down as it is. You should be really proud of how far you've come on your own, it must be hard trying to do everything yourself i honestly salute you. It must be really hard and I can imagine things just get too much sometimes so I understand why you must have had a good cry. Your doing so amazing, your such a strong woman honestly. Hope your feeling better today xx

How's everybody else doing? Shall we have some 6 months bump updates? I know some of us are going into month 7 already! Times flying x

DressingGown87 · 22/07/2020 10:33

Thank you everyone! Made me feel so much better!

Exhausted today after about 3 hours sleep, I think stress, trying to find a solution and pregnancy contributed last night. I think it’s also down to gaining weight in pregnancy, I’m at the largest I’ve been in my life, so everything feels small. I’ve been trying to sort it since 7am, and I think I have. I’m managing a build of some properties nearby for rental, they have larger baths. So I’ve spoke to the Contractor and Client and agreed to swap mine with one form their site. 🙈 so I can have a bigger bath, without delay. Agreed with my plumber and tiler too.

So going to try rest a bit today (no napping Though due to noise, unless I sleep in the playhouse which has bunk beds). Cheer myself up with (hopefully) seeing my little girl tonight. ☺️

Hope everyone else is having a better week? Has anyone got any weird craving? Coal, butter? I don’t.

@SamK93 will update my bump photo this week ☺️

@DressingGown87 I'm so glad your feeling a little better, your doing brilliantly.
I haven't had any cravings myself but somebody I know craves chalk!! She eats it all day long, apparently it's an iron deficiency sign, she's actually bought edible chalk. She just wants to chew it all the time and very rarely swallow it though.

Here's my update at 25+5 feeling huge and rocking hubby's t-shirt!

Anyone elses abs seperated? I suspected as much so midwifes said to get a physio referral sorted. Heard his heartbeat for the first time which was wonderful :)

FirstSurprise001 · 22/07/2020 17:33

Updated bump pic!

@SamK93 I’m with you on wearing DP’s clothes, he moaned that he’s seen his denim shirt go in the wash numerous times and he’s not been anywhere to wear it. Oops 🙊

I’m absolutely exhausted this week! 27 weeks today and I’m struggling to keep my eyes open in the day. This is the second day I’ve promised myself a quick ‘20 minute nap’ and then woken up nearly 2 hours later 💤

Mc3209 · 22/07/2020 20:56

Loving the bumps pics!

25 weeks and I am enrolling the kid into the nursery (to start when he is 12 months). I don't know how I feel about this.

Mc3209 · 22/07/2020 21:28

This is my bump at 25+3. It's the heaviest I've ever been in my life, and the weight is not all bump, it's the thighs and arms and face. Can't say I am very happy about it, trying not think about it.
Please excuse the outfit with holes, I am in a slob mood this evening. These shorts were very loose on me pre-pregnancy, now they are pretty tight (obviously cannot close them because of the bump, but the ass bit and the thighs bits...)

Loving the bump pictures! Will upload mine tomorrow when I have the energy to stand up!

@1990shopefulftm I’m not too sure on the abs. My pain is from my belly button down when I’ve done too much or been carrying things. Did you have any signs? Hopefully the physio helps. It’s great hearing the heartbeat isn’t it, I’ve had it put into a teddy bunny, to help soothe her when she is born.

@SamK93 chalk is a weird one! Didn’t know they made edible chalk either!

@Mc3209 that’s some forward planning. Is it a busy nursery? I need to contact the nursery, but need to speak to the owner not the manager, to try and sort out a deal. Don’t worry about the weight, I’m the same, it’s bum, bump and thighs!!

She cooperated tonight ☺️, so much I got 70 pictures to my phone, and 8 printed! Which I thought was an amazing deal for the £, especially as this is my second turn! She waved, smiled, sulked, yawned, and then went to sleep.

@DressingGown87 in certain positions I can feel the difference but there's no pain from it at all. Those are lovely pictures :)

SamK93 · 22/07/2020 22:33

I love your pics @FirstSurprise001 @Mc3209 what weight are you talking about? You look absolutely fantastic! I haven't weighed myself because I know most of the weight is from the placenta, the extra fluid, extra blood volume, uterus tissue, amniotic fluid etc etc!! So I don't want to even stress myself out about it. The other bits your talking about i.e your thighs, arm, face is just part of the pregnancy glow and we should embrace it, it's only a few more months and we can go back to pre pregnancy weight and size whenever we feel ready after the babies.

@DressingGown87 I'm soo happy she was a good girl for you today, beautiful pics xx

roarfeckingroar · 22/07/2020 23:01

@FirstSurprise001 I make oomph noises all the time now. Getting up, sitting down, moving, stopping... embracing it!

@EmmaA96 beautiful pictures!

@DressingGown87 that's so much to deal with at a time you really don't need more stress. Well done for getting it sorted. My cravings have gone now, I kind of miss needing tomatoes all the time!

I had my 28 week midwife appointment today. Baby doing well, hearing his heartbeat never gets old, measuring on 50th centile so bang in the middle. I sorted all the clothes I have so far tonight and put them away, everything is looking lovely and I'm so so excited to have him here!

Mc3209 · 22/07/2020 23:09

@SamK93 I love your outlook on this, made me feel better about the changes pregnancy brings along. I think I will stop weighing myself too.

@DressingGown87 lovely pictures! So glad your cheeky girl was playing nicely today ☺️
Re nursery, it's the one associated with work where a lot of staff send their kids, the waiting list is long due to demand, but it should make our lives so much easier from picking up/dropping off point of view. The application form even has a field asking for EDD 😬 It's a bit surreal.

LadyB90 · 23/07/2020 11:39

@DressingGown87
Beautiful pictures! Hope that seeing your little one gave you feel a bit better.

Had to laugh last night as woke up with a wet arm thinking that I was either really sweaty or dribbled on myself, only to realise it was actually milk leaking! My braless lock down days are officially over 😂

LadyB90 · 23/07/2020 11:40

@roarfeckingroar
I went through a tomato stage too! Glad your 28 week appointment went well and you are feeling a bit more positive!

SamK93 · 23/07/2020 12:32

@roarfeckingroar glad your appointment went well.
I was supposed to have my 25 week appointment tomorrow where I'd have been 26 weeks but she just called me and said it's an over the phone consultation and did it today instead. She did reassure me that I'd have a 28 week one in a couple of weeks that would be in person at the surgery as that's when she will start measuring bump and doing bloods. So I'll finally see a human 😂

roarfeckingroar · 23/07/2020 14:51

@SamK93 that's good about your 28 week.it seems like it's really hit and miss whether you see someone from trust to trust.

I was thinking earlier how I felt huge at 20 weeks and now at 28 + 4 I'm like "nah that was tiny!" Bring on 36!

I booked my 32 and 36 week appointments yesterday. That was scary!

WaveStreet · 23/07/2020 15:47

I thought the same thing about feeling huge! I feel big again now but, frustratingly, as soon as you get used to your new size you grow again 🤣

BS9790 · 24/07/2020 18:27

Has anyone experienced braxton hicks?
I feel like baby is sat really low down in my pelvis, it's so uncomfortable. But The bottom of my bump keeps going rock hard and then releasing, like tightening... At first I thought it was the baby pushing himself out, but it's been nearly all day on and off, so not sure now?! X

Mc3209 · 24/07/2020 19:00

@BS9790 I've been having those since about 20 weeks ish. I tend to get them when I do anything remotely strenuous (think walking up a gentle hill at anything faster than a snail's pace). My bump goes rock hard for few minutes then eases off. The bottom of the bump is the most uncomfortable.

Flora20 · 24/07/2020 20:01

@BS9790 I've been having them for a while too, I didn't have them in my first pregnancy so found it strange to begin with! Baby also seems to like hanging around at the bottom of my bump, so it often feels hard because of that too. It's a weird feeling!

Mc3209 · 24/07/2020 20:49

Today was a pig out day, and I am regretting it already. Very full and very uncomfortable 🥴

KitKatKit · 25/07/2020 07:52

@Mc3209 It happens, don't stress yourself about it!
I've been trying to manage my acid reflux through diet recently, been really strict with what I'm eating etc. Until yesterday when my usual unproblematic smoothie flared up a particularly bad episode - so when I had a random urge for a McDonald's double cheeseburger and vanilla milkshake at 10pm last night, I just went for it.
And of course, no acid issues at all overnight or this morning 🤦🏽‍♀️

Happy Saturday all, hope you're all hanging in there!

watersintheclouds · 25/07/2020 13:14

Thank you to whoever here mentioned the Baby Academy free online workshop. We did it this morning and found it really informative. We’ve now signed up for the paid 1 day course in September.

We’re off to my brother and sister in law’s for a socially distanced garden tea party for our niece’s 3rd birthday. This will be the first time we’ve seen any family since announcing our pregnancy. So strange!

1990shopefulftm · 25/07/2020 13:26

We've gotten almost everything off our list for baby already, one thing I m not sure on is what's a good idea to keep in just in case.

we've got a thermometer and a nasal aspirator, will get some calpol and ibuprofen for when they're age appropriate but I have no idea if gripe water or infacol are must haves or just something you'd get if it turns out baby needed it. Then it's which baby wash and cream products to go for, I'm allergic to lavender so i don't think many of the sleeptime bubble baths are ones I can use.

GhostWorld · 25/07/2020 14:39

All your bump pictures are lovely!

@watersintheclouds I did the free workshop too and thought it was really good, I haven't paid for the full day yet but still considering it. I've seen that there are free classes on this page too which I'm going to try - www.thematernitycollective.online/

I'm feeling frustrated that we haven't brought much yet, I want to get going but my DP is putting it off a bit, I think hes finding the spending large amounts scary and also it makes it all real! Also we only have a tiny flat so it will take up a lot of space. Frustrating though as I feel like I'm doing non stop research! Anyone else got this problem? It feels like I'm behind other people on here!
