Well it’s official! I’ve started making that ‘oomph’ noise when getting off chairs, sofas, bed, rolling over etc! And I can hardly see my feet anymore 🐷

Hope everyone’s having a good week so far! Is it sad that I’m looking forward to seeing the midwife every 2 weeks now? I think the long stints between seeing anyone from a medical background was making me more worried/anxious about what to expect!

1990shopefulftm · 21/07/2020 12:36

@FirstSurprise001 yes I know that noise, DH is spending the day in bed to hopefully shift this infection and getting up quietly so as not to wake him was so challenging. Yeah I ve only seen midwifes in person twice so it ll be nice to see my actual assigned midwife tommorow, my 25 week appointment is just over a week late so not entirely sure I ll be getting the 2 weekly appointments but will see what she says.

SamK93 · 21/07/2020 13:04

@FirstSurprise001 im the same with the noises!

@1990shopefulftm hope he gets well soon! My 25 week appointment is this week, I'll be 26 weeks then but she still hasn't confirmed if it's going to be over the phone or in person. when she called me to arrange it a few weeks ago she said it would most likely be over the phone, I really hope not I've only seen her once!

FirstSurprise001 · 21/07/2020 13:10

@SamK93 I’d be surprised if it’s over the phone as this one is the first one to measure bump and take a urine sample (from what mine was like last Friday!) then in two weeks it’s bloods, though I can’t remember what that was for!

1990shopefulftm · 21/07/2020 14:03

@SamK93 chase her up on it, it should hopefully be in person.

KitKatKit · 21/07/2020 14:16

@FirstSurprise001 Haha the noises! Every time I need to bend my legs (e.g going to the loo), I let out an involuntary "OY YOY YOI" Grin
Switching sides during the night is proving to be increasingly difficult these days too. And we're only going to get bigger!

I have my 28 week appt + GTT next week so looking forward to seeing an actual midwife in person for the first time since week 8! Hope everyone is holding up okay x

@FirstSurprise001
@SamK93
My 25 week appointment was over the phone. Bit pointless really. Haven't had any appointments face to face with midwife and first one will be 28 weeks. I feel like my area is majorly slacking on that front! I've booked a 3D scan for Friday though so hopefully get some reassurance that things are going ok. Hope you get to have your appointment face to face!!

DressingGown87 · 21/07/2020 19:06

@gloorb some water babies might be ok. I just know the one I’m planning on going to has a list. Worth asking though. I’m thinking of starting at 3months, to get her use to the water before any holidays. When you thinking of starting?

@1990shopefulftm glad your DP is better and the work wasn’t too much.

This no bathroom is driving me mad. Insulated it myself and replasterboarded it. Today I’ve had to replace some of the floor joists and take a ceiling down, so I’m spending my evening treating the new joists. So it can run to schedule. To top that off my work load is getting higher, as I work to 8week planning deadlines.

Good luck to everyone who has appointments this week. I have take two of my 4D scan tomorrow, hope she plays ball.

@FirstSurprise001 if you don’t mind me asking where was your marker on the measurement chart? Was you on the curve?

OP posts:
FirstSurprise001 · 21/07/2020 20:09

@DressingGown87 yes right in between the top and bottom curve (if that’s what you meant?) to be honest I was expecting her to say I was on the top half as I look a lot bigger but she said I was spot on! How did you get on?

FirstSurprise001 · 21/07/2020 20:10

SamK93 · 21/07/2020 21:03

@1990shopefulftm I called her twice today and no reply! I have the midwifes mobile number and I've always wondered whether I should leave a text message when it's not something urgent? Not sure lol.

LadyB90 I think mine will be over the phone too, it's booked in for Friday, I'll be 26 weeks that day. It's just rubbish the only appointment I had was the first initial booking one just before lockdown. My area is slacking too definitely, which area are you based in? Has she confirmed your 28 week one will definitely be in person then? Ooh I bet your looking forward to the scan xx

@DressingGown87 fingers crossed your little girl cooperates tomorrow! Showing you who's boss already isn't she x

Does anybody have pain in their ribs/rib cage? Literally under their breasts? I've had it for a couple of weeks but it was horrible today. I don't have it when I'm on my feet it's just as I sit down to relax on the sofa, I have to stretch and lay back a bit to get a tiny bit comfortable.

EmmaA96 · 21/07/2020 21:08

@DressingGown87 water babies is amazing my 2 have been going since they were tiny and are so confident in the water. It’s definitely helped my mental health having activities planned for them to help get us out the house. My 3 year old can swim almost by herself! We can’t wait to get back.

Went for a 4D scan today which was amazing they had their heads together! Twin 1 had her arm around her sister 😍

Keep forgetting about this thread! We had carpets come last week but couldn’t fit them in the babies room as they were damaged, initially told we’d need to wait another 3 weeks but they’ll be back next week and then we can build furniture 🤞🏼🤞🏼

LadyB90 · 21/07/2020 21:15

@SamK93
Yes definitely 28 week one in person, I have to go my GP surgery for it so I've booked it already. Think at this point they need to check urine and blood pressure and measure so if your 25 week one is over the phone then your 28 week one should definitely be face to face. I'm in Oxfordshire, where are you based? Also definitely feeling you on the under boob rib pain! Like you I'm fine standing up but if I sit for more than about 10 mins it's so sore and at night when I lay on my side as well. I guess they have pressure from above and below, feel like my ribs are squished between boobs and bump haha!

@EmmaA96
That literally sounds like the cutest thing!! Did you manage to get some cute pictures of your twins?

1990shopefulftm · 21/07/2020 21:21

@SamK93 I don't have my actual midwifes number since we ve never met but you could try the general community midwife number but can't see the harm sending a text.
@DressingGown87 hope she's better behaved for the scan tommorow.

DressingGown87 · 21/07/2020 21:26

@FirstSurprise001 I was under the last line so below the 3rd centile line. They said not to worry at this stage, as it’s guess work and early. But it’s bothered me. That’s good that your on track.

@EmmaA96 I loved taking my step kids swimming from 2. Made being on holiday so much easier knowing they had confidence in the water. Great that yours have been doing it so long. Aww that is so cute 😍 hope they manage to sort your carpets out next week.

I’ve just cried for hours tonight. Just feel like I’m trying my hardest to get things sorted, but then things go wrong. I did a detailed spec with item numbers / sizes for my bathroom. The bath was sealed in today, ready for tiling tomorrow. It’s 50mm too small. Doesn’t seem much but it just feels so small (width), if I change it now, I have to wait 3 weeks for a new bath and a tiler. Everyone is saying it’s fine, but it’s smaller than what was removed. I should have just placed the order myself. It’s stupid and minor, but my horomones, lack of sleep, living in a building site, managing it all alone, is just really taking its toll tonight.

@LadyB90 Yes I will upload! It’s so surreal still I cried my eyes out at the scan. Hormones 😂

Thanks ladies 💜💜
It was amazing!! Xx

Freddie1987 · 21/07/2020 23:30

@EmmaA96 oh wow, that is something truly incredible. They're bezzies for life already ❤️

@DressingGown87 I'm not surprised you've needed a good cry, what you're doing on your own is nothing short of amazing. You are amazing and what a brilliant mum already sorting all this out for yours and your child's future without any proper help!! Is it time to treat yourself to another takeaway tomorrow?! Or at least tell someone how you're feeling because you deserve a massive hug and someone to give you a bit of tlc from the sounds of it. x

Flora20 · 22/07/2020 08:34

Morning all!

@EmmaA96 Those pictures are stunning, I've seen some 3d scans that look a bit odd but the way your babies are snuggled up together is just 😍

@DressingGown87 I'm not surprised it's all got to you a bit, sounds like your renovations would be challenging at the best of times! Hopefully a night's sleep has helped a bit with the bath dilemma. Definitely time for another Chinese tonight too 🙂

@roarfeckingroar How are you feeling lovely? Hope you're looking after yourself x

1990shopefulftm · 22/07/2020 09:02

@DressingGown87 I hope things feel better today and that everything is sorted on schedule for you.
@EmmaA96 those are wonderful pictures
