Thank you @DressingGown87 we haven't spoken today i finished work at 2, and he left at 3 for work. I told him about all the precautions etc he needs to take last night he said that it's all 'sorted'. Well I hope so. Oh he will be definitely be paying out of his own funds I've paid off too many of his debts over the years I'm certainly not paying off a holiday I didn't want to him go to on the first place!

@krissy12 he only has his sister as my mother and father in law live abroad. She's got three kids of her own, combining my two she will have five of them! I'll be grateful if she could just keep them over night honestly, I'm feeling so guilty about it already I was actually thinking going with them myself in the evening to drop them off letting them play for a while, making sure they're in bed asleep and then coming back home in the evening once they're asleep . Just to make it easier for her maybe. I know that the only one who should be feeling guilty is my OH so that's why I'm leaving it to him to tell his sister about it today, I know she never says no and she loves to help when she can but I'd just like to make things easier any way I can.

BS9790 · 15/07/2020 08:13

Just marking my place again as keep losing the thread! 😊 Hope everyone is doing good x

Freddie1987 · 15/07/2020 09:21

@SamK93 catching up as well, sorry to hear you're having to deal with this. I would feel exactly the same as you. I think it's great that he's trying to reassure you about everything but sometimes I think because men don't worry or think ahead in the same way, they brush everything off as 'it will be fine' which means your feelings (which are completely reasonable) aren't validated! Which is still equally frustrating! I guess what I'm trying to say is, sometimes all you want to hear is them saying 'don't worry, I understand why you're feeling like this but I'm going to do x,y,z to make it ok' but instead we mainly hear 'you're stressing out too much' etc. Hope you can enjoy your weekend regardless and do something nice for yourself. I would also suggest as soon as he's back, lumping him with some extra housework responsibility 😂hope you're feeling a bit brighter today x

LadyB90 · 15/07/2020 09:54

Hey ladies! Hope everyone is good today. Just wanted to say I ordered some maternity leggings from:

loveleggings.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw0rr4BRCtARIsAB0_48Nm3QOcE3PhWaJL8FGLd4FxbBPQg0by3fz5Siyun4Xqy3-qcMgnj4MaAqe_EALw_wcB

They are literally the comfiest thing I've bought maternity wise! They aren't see through either which I've found with others. I ordered some cropped ones as well for the hotter days and I think I might live in them haha. Just thought I'd share 😊

SamK93 · 15/07/2020 10:30

@Freddie1987 you are absolutely spot on with everything you've said, I'm glad you can relate and understand. They definitely don't realise what it is that we need to hear sometimes. We definitely have a different approach than 'it will be fine' it's only ever fine because we're the ones who are sorting it out to make it 'fine!' Thank you so much for your message and he will definitely be coming back to a lot more responsibilities 😂

@LadyB90 those look so good! I'm definitely in need of maternity leggings as I literally live in leggings.

Mc3209 · 15/07/2020 12:12

Girlies, I've managed to book my cut and colour appointment for 15th of August! I can't wait! I don't like having long hair as I invariably end up wearing it in a pony tail all the time, so can't wait to get my short-ish bob back.
Also, I am thinking of going blonde 😬 I am a natural brunette and usually have some sort of variation of highlights/balayage going on, but now I want to go cool blonde (most realistically via the highlights route). I hope I won't regret the upkeep with a newborn!

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 15/07/2020 15:14

Haven't posted in a while and struggling to catch up!

How is everyone? I cannot get over how bloody hungry I am, I feel like I'm never full.

FirstSurprise001 · 15/07/2020 17:55

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt how many weeks are you now? 2 weeks ago I was constantly eating, never full and eating more than DP. This week and last (26weeks today!) I have no appetite. I feel like I’ve gone back to the first trimester, feeling sick most of the time, metallic taste in my mouth whenever I eat and really burpy. 😭 @roarfeckingroar I know you’re a little ahead of me, are you feeling the same?

1990shopefulftm · 15/07/2020 18:28

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt yes I eat a fair bit more, been making so many pancakes.

Freddie1987 · 15/07/2020 19:02

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt yep, still hungry ALL the time! I eat enough protein (I think) so don't think that's the problem...Bump has definitely popped out more and got rounder, has yours? I'm 26 weeks on Friday. I figure we probably need some extra calories right now?!🤷🏻‍♀️ Don't know about you but I've also been still feeling really fatigued so that probably adds to feeling hungry a lot.

DressingGown87 · 15/07/2020 21:34

@LadyB90 thank you for the link, I keep looking on there, but never committing! Will get some.

@Mc3209 I had mine done today, in a gazebo in my garden. 😂 but it feels so much fresher, and it’s back to its normal Mid length. It will give you a great excuse to keep it up and have some you time after the birth. I’m naturally grey 😭 so have mine done every 2-3 weeks.

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt I go through days of being starving, and having no appetite. @FirstSurprise001 I’m 26+1 and getting indigestion a lot when I eat now.

Had my 4D scan today. She put her hands over her face, and her feet up, she is going to drive me insane, she’s an absolute terror. I’ve not had one straightforward appointment / scan. So was pretty pointless, but they didn’t charge me. Booked me back in for next week.

1990shopefulftm · 16/07/2020 11:23

@DressingGown87 glad they didn't charge you for the scan. I m hoping that having it in the morning in a couple of weeks will work well as he normally moves that time of day.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 16/07/2020 14:23

I'm 24+5. Just been for a big lunch and have come home and demolished a wispa 😂 I remember waking up in the night with my first for midnight feasts but that was much later on in the pregnancy. I think being at home steps away from the kitchen doesn't help!

SamK93 · 16/07/2020 16:37

I'm 25 weeks tomorrow and always hungry and I have heart burn in between which usually indicates I'm hungry, I'm basically always hungry 😂 my calcium, vitamin D and iron levels are low though apparently need to pick up a prescription today.

Also I got a phone call half an hour ago from the hospital, NIPT results came back as the best possible outcome of low risk, which means its highly unlikely baby has any of the conditions tested for. She told me to just relax and enjoy the rest of pregnancy. I think I should take her advice and relax a bit now!

FirstSurprise001 · 16/07/2020 17:05

@SamK93 I’m so glad that your results were low risk! Definitely relax now and just make the most of being pregnant 🥰

DressingGown87 · 16/07/2020 17:05

@1990shopefulftm I’m trying evening next time. But I’m just excepting that she is going to make it impossible 😂 hope your little boy is cooperative

@SamK93 glad everything came back low risk, hope you can relax a bit now. Hope you’ve managed to sort this weekend out too, and your feeling a bit better all round.

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt I’m going to put the treats in the garage, the further away they are, the less temptation 🙈

1990shopefulftm · 16/07/2020 17:12

@SamK93 glad the test results are positive. Hopefully the supplements kick in quickly for you.

@DressingGown87 maybe she ll realize she's been plenty of mischief and should make the last trimester easier for you.

SamK93 · 17/07/2020 11:18

Thank you ladies.

@DressingGown87 my lovely sister in law has had them since last night as his flight was early this morning. I'll pick them up after work and have a chilled weekend with them, they'll be back at hers Sunday evening as he doesn't land until Monday midday and I leave early for work.
We had a good chat about things last night and cleared the air a bit, I got some much needed reassurance.

@1990shopefulftm I really hope the supplements kick in as I just feel tired 24/7, achey legs too which must be due to the calcium deficiency.

I'm 25 weeks today but did not expect a bit of a boob leak this morning! Took me by surprise. Isn't it amazing how are bodies are preparing.

1990shopefulftm · 17/07/2020 11:23

@SamK93 I ve had a vit D deficency before and felt a difference after about a week on a high dose of it so hopefully it's not too long for you.

Mc3209 · 17/07/2020 11:26

@SamK93 glad to see things are on the up!
Boob leak is exciting 😬 mine are well behaved at the moment.

Do you, gals, talk to your belly? I am thinking of starting to read to the baby in there.

GhostWorld · 17/07/2020 11:50

Talking of boob leak, how have your nipples been? I'm thinking of calling the GP about mine as I've had some really intense pain, feels like they're being twisted or burned or something! The midwife said probably nothing to worry about as its both of them but worth checking if I'm worried. I noticed this morning that one of them has sort of changed shape and I can't tell if its dimpling or not..

@Mc3209 I'm still feeling a bit weird about talking to the bump, it feels a bit performative rather than natural but I have been playing music to him

DressingGown87 · 17/07/2020 15:02

@SamK93 Glad you've managed to talks things through. Enjoy your weekend.

My boobs and nipples seem to be ok, although both have increased in size, but not by much.

I have horrible acid reflux though, even woke me up in the night. They do say this gets worse in the third trimester which is only 11days away. Tried gaviscon, and smaller meals, not helping in the slightest. My stretching pain seems to be from under my belly button down, it can be so painful. Day 1 of 10 of no bathroom too! Sink washes it is!

OP posts:
KitKatKit · 17/07/2020 16:21

@DressingGown87 I'm currently on day 4 of bathroom renovations and also have terrible acid reflux (thanks to not having a gallbladder) so feel your pain on all accounts!

WRT the acid, try eating small amounts of yoghurt? It seems to soothe it. I'm trying to limit how much Gaviscon I take (currently 2 tablets a day) and have found that any junky stuff (crisps/chocolate) make the acid flare up.

Try to avoid leaning back when you're sitting on any chair or sofa, and if you're not already, sleeping on your left side and with a few pillows also helps.
Sending you solidarity on all accounts!

1990shopefulftm · 17/07/2020 17:40

@Mc3209 I talk to bump randomly whilst I do things.

DressingGown87 · 17/07/2020 21:02

@KitKatKit hopefully not too long for us both. The lack of toilet is going to be hard. I have had a yoghurt after tea, so will see if that helps. Will also take some gaviscon before bed, in hope that it doesn’t wake me up. Thank you so much for all the tips! Hope your ok too, I didn’t expect it so soon.

Has anyone watched “The secret she keeps” not sure this is the brightest idea I’ve had, with my peri natal mind, but only just started.
