@roarfeckingroar i'm feeling big and slowly realizing how much bigger i m probably going to get.

Chl00 · 28/06/2020 15:55

Anyone else still struggling with eating? I’m eating more but I have to force myself because I just don’t wanna eat.. sometimes I do in the late afternoon but majority my family say I don’t eat enough and I’m starving my baby👀

DressingGown87 · 28/06/2020 15:58

@Chl00 I’ve just got a BT one with large screen, as most of my friends said it’s really good.

@roarfeckingroar I feel the same, been up since 3am. Did a photo montage for my friends birthday, and I was like omg I’m huge, looking back on pictures. 🙈 we have to remember it’s going to worth it!

Hi Ladies, have any of you got any recommendations for cot bedding? I need everything, the sheets, duvet etc would be nice to get a set. Can't find anything nice anywhere

SamK93 · 28/06/2020 16:04

@roarfeckingroar I feel your pain I hate how I look in my clothes I hate looking in the mirror right now lol.

SJR86 · 28/06/2020 16:34

@SamK93 I was planning on using sleeping bags rather than duvets etc, that is unless little one is too small for a sleeping bag.
Only sheets I'll be buying are the fitted ones for the cot mattress.

1990shopefulftm · 28/06/2020 16:36

@SamK93 Asda has nice sets of sheets for various sizes.

FirstSurprise001 · 28/06/2020 16:38

@roarfeckingroar I’m with you on the feeling big front! Just keep comparing myself to girls my DP is working with, or friends, and having that insecure ‘he’s coming home to a whale’ feeling...

Anyone else’s feet really starting to ache too?

Apparently the baby doubles in weight from 23 to 27 weeks - so no doubt gonna get even bigger shortly 🐷

DressingGown87 · 28/06/2020 16:41

@SamK93 I’ve just got fitted sheets for now, from John Lewis. Planning on using sleeping bags, and blankets. But they had some nice stuff.

@Chl00 I thought I would always be hungry, but I’m the same and lost my appetite really, and eating because I have to.

Thank you @DressingGown87 @1990shopefulftm @SJR86

I think your right actually, I'll probably just need the sheets and blankets for now as I'll be using sleeping bags too.

roarfeckingroar · 28/06/2020 19:14

@KitKatKit I'm 25 weeks today and the creature has definitely had a growth spurt this week. His movements are so much stronger than they were. Sorry about your nausea. My wanky headaches have returned with a vengeance like the early days. Why are we doing this again?

@1990shopefulftm @DressingGown87 we are going to get much bigger. I went out for a waffle earlier and saw a lady who was probably about 7/8 months - not long now for us.

@SamK93 yeah my cute little bump in the mirror now enters the room before I do and has spread up, so I'm a huge big blob. I think my thigh gap has actually gone for the first time ever. Really want to go swimming 😩.

@FirstSurprise001 aw, I bet you look gorgeous anyway - and these colleagues / friends aren't growing his baby! Mine is at pains to remind me I'm not big, it's just the baby, he thinks I'm gorgeous etc but all I can think of is "wahhhhhhh but my thigh gap".

roarfeckingroar · 28/06/2020 19:15

** for a waddle. I didn't go for a waffle. I would like a waffle.

1990shopefulftm · 28/06/2020 19:22

@roarfeckingroar the only time i've seen other pregnant people is at hospital appointments, i don't know if it's a good thing not to see how much bigger bump might get. Craving a waffle now

KitKatKit · 28/06/2020 19:41

@roarfeckingroar Oh god now I want a waffle too!!
LOL to the wanky headaches. That's exactly how I feel about all of these symptoms!

In other news I weighed myself this morning (haven't since 8 week booking in appointment) and have gained 4kg/8lbs or so. Not as bad as I thought, considering I feel like a whale right now!
(Off to eat a Crunchie chocolate bar because...why not!)

roarfeckingroar · 28/06/2020 19:52

@KitKatKit I've put on 4.5kg and it shows as the absolute bottom of the healthy range for putting on weight at this exact stage for my pre preg weight and height BUT it feels like a lot. I think because it's just under an extra 10% of my body weight.

Waffles and waddles all round!

SamK93 · 28/06/2020 21:09

Has anybody been booked in for a glucose tolerance test? I've got one beginning of august at the hospital, not had one with previous two pregnancies so I'm not too sure why I've been booked one this time around. I had the letter sent out to me in May.

1990shopefulftm · 29/06/2020 08:03

@SamK93 is there nothing in the risk assessment/ management plan of your notes?

Has anyone experienced any pains in their wrists/ fingers, I'm starting to wonder if I'm getting carpal tunnel syndrome :(

SamK93 · 29/06/2020 08:47

@1990shopefulftm all my notes are electronic on an app, I've checked through and I haven't dead anything on there. I did have a check online apparently all women over the age of 25 in my area if it's not their first pregnancy they have to have the test which is weird.
I haven't really got pain but my left hand the last three fingers and that side of the hand are constantly numb, it's been a couple of months now I hardly have feeling in them at all sometimes.

SamK93 · 29/06/2020 08:49

**Read not dead but that's how I'm feeling today at work 😭

Freddie1987 · 29/06/2020 09:45

@1990shopefulftm I've experienced mild carpal tunnel syndrome for years now (my mum has it quite severely, apparently there's a genetic link) but funnily enough haven't experienced it much during pregnancy. I am waking up in the morning or sometimes in the middle of the night with my wrists completely gone though, so I'm sure the blood vessels are getting restricted! There's not much you can do I'm afraid, but regularly massaging the wrists helps. If it's really bad you can get special wrist splints or speak to your GP about maybe getting one? They might be able to refer you to a specialist if it's stopping you from doing everyday things. X

1990shopefulftm · 29/06/2020 09:55

@SamK93 I m 25 and it seems strange to do the test that young if there's no other reason for it. Sorry to hear you re struggling with your hand too.

@Freddie1987 I might get a splint ordered, my GP is very strict on prescribing things like splints and garments because of funding so I m not sure if they would even entertain the idea. I m hoping once I m on mat leave and not typing for many hours it won't be anywhere near as bad.

Freddie1987 · 29/06/2020 10:13

@1990shopefulftm good idea, yes typing is definitely a factor in making it worse! You can also get those mats that sit on the edge of your keyboard with a padded foam bit that supports your wrists. Hope it eases off for you, it's really annoying isn't it! 😫

KitKatKit · 29/06/2020 11:42

@SamK93 I'm having the GTT at the end of July. I fit into the at risk category due to ethnicity. Apparently the glucose drink can make you feel quite queasy so be prepared!

@1990shopefulftm Yes tingling in wrists and fingers especially at night time like @Freddie1987 said. I think it's where I'm laying on my side and the weight of me is sending my limbs to sleep!

If you're on a computer all day, I cannot recommend a foam wrist support enough, one that goes the whole length of your keyboard. I got mine for £10/£15 from Amazon and it's made a massive difference. I rarely get aching wrists or elbows now as a result of being at the laptop all day and I've had it for over a year now.

watersintheclouds · 29/06/2020 11:57

I’m meant to have a GTT as high risk for it but they’ve stopped doing them in my area due to COVID. The doctor said they don’t want pregnant women sitting in the hospital for 2-3 hours while they do it. Instead I’ve been booked for a fasting blood test at 26 weeks and this will give a strong indication of it.

1990shopefulftm · 29/06/2020 12:34

@Freddie1987 @KitKatKit I ve been using a cushion to rest my wrists on but I ll see if there's a mat that would work with my laptop.
