@Mc3209 if you are part of the Parenting Club with Boots advantage card, they're currently giving freebies of MAM bottles and a pacifier, so you could add it to a collection to see what works best ☺️I think unfortunately it's trial and error once they're here, they might not even like them at all. Also in case you're planning on breastfeeding, the recommendation is not to use them until about 2 weeks in I think. I guess for bottle feeds you can use straight away x

EmmaA96 · 17/06/2020 17:55

@DressingGown87 Red! Eek! 😬

Congratulations on your baby girl 💗 @Plentyofplants

KitKatKit · 17/06/2020 19:32

@DressingGown87 Can I just say what a hero you are doing all that renovation work yourself?! I've bought a new rug for my sitting room, that's my achievement of the week 😁

@GhostWorld I think you'll be okay when baby is 6 months old but of course we just don't know how they're all going to turn out!

@Mc3209 I know what you mean about feeling behind on nursery stuff. We've bought nothing and have no plans on doing a nursery (shock horror!).
I figured baby will be in with us for the first six months anyway (in a side sleeper), so we have time to get a bigger cot/bed for the spare room when we need it. I do enjoy hearing everyone else's renovation updates though 😄

1990shopefulftm · 17/06/2020 21:33

@DressingGown87 it'll be a great sense of achievement when you're done, plastering seems very challenging

DressingGown87 · 17/06/2020 22:52

@KitKatKit @1990shopefulftm thank you. Suppose my ex taught me something useful, as he was in the trade, and we renovated houses together. Plus I work in the construction industry. When my midwife told me to find something to keep me busy, I don’t think she was expecting this 😂. Feel worn out now, but hopefully worth it. Drawing the line at ripping out / filing the bathroom though. Hope the rug has fitted in well! Love a new rug!

Thank you @DressingGown87 @KitKatKit and @roarfeckingroar. I suppose at the moment it would just be me taking a risk, which means I might end up losing out on the money I will have paid and deciding if that's worth it!

@DressingGown87 SO impressed with your plastering skills!

Think we ll be ordering a travel system after we ve measured the boot again, the cars great in that it's got the isofix thing built in but we didn't realise how small the boot was so there's not been many options for us to look at.

BS9790 · 18/06/2020 15:57

All good at our anomoly scan today, little man was been awkward but they did manage to get everything they needed in the end. So surreal watching him move about all over the place and not been able to feel a thing!!!

He's measuring big all round, big head, big tummy, long femur! Eeek 🙈🙈

SamK93 · 18/06/2020 16:16

@BS9790 aww that's lovely, I'm glad all is well with your little boy.
I finally have my scan tomorrow afternoon, I just hope everything goes well, I just feel really anxious all of a sudden.

1990shopefulftm · 18/06/2020 17:07

@SamK93 I was like that the day before mine,hope all goes well :)

Freddie1987 · 18/06/2020 17:28

@BS9790 aww lovely, I remember that being very surreal as well. It's like you're watching a movie - hard to connect what's happening to the inside of your body until you feel a strong kick!

@SamK93 sending good thoughts for tomorrow! 🌻

DressingGown87 · 18/06/2020 17:39

@1990shopefulftm have you managed to visit a store or for a short list together? I changed my mind a few times, until I viewed them.

@BS9790 aww glad your scan went well! They are wrigglers aren’t they.

@SamK93 good luck with you scan tomorrow

I had my consultant appointment today. My bladder is not emptying properly, which is why I need to go an awful lot! They used a fancy gadget to measure how full it was, made me pee in a pot, measure that, and then looked what was left. It’s not pregnancy related, but she is sat on my bladder which is making it worse. Can’t have any medication, so just got to put up with it. Possibly stand on my head to encourage her upwards 😂

@DressingGown87 no we haven't yet , most of the ones in the shops are out of our price range or not suitable for the car though. so we re going to make sure we order from somewhere that's good with returns.

BS9790 · 18/06/2020 18:32

@Freddie1987 I have felt a few, what I assume are kicks, over the last few days. I can feel/see them out the outside too. Always low down to the side, so where my placenta isn't covering!
But literally feeling no other movement at all which seems odd. Maybe I'm just oblivious to it ha!

Freddie1987 · 18/06/2020 22:35

@BS9790 yep, that definitely sounds right! ☺️It was always low down on my left side for me at first, apparently it's him punching not kicking me according to the sonographer haha. Have you got an anterior placenta? That can muffle it and I think we're definitely oblivious to movements most of the day!

UpsyDaisy1234 · 19/06/2020 07:57

Yaaaay! We are having a BOY & a GIRL!

1990shopefulftm · 19/06/2020 08:17

@UpsyDaisy1234 that's wonderful news :)

GhostWorld · 19/06/2020 09:12

@DressingGown87 That sounds like a pain! Did they say what caused it?

@UpsyDaisy1234 Congratulations!

DressingGown87 · 19/06/2020 09:22

@UpsyDaisy1234 congratulations!! That’s amazing, and hopefully helps with names slightly! 💖💙

@ghostworld they just said it would be something they will look into in more detail after she is born. For now I’m going to set up camp in the bathroom 😂

My lounge is starting to look like a warehouse with all these parcels / boxes 🙈

Freddie1987 · 19/06/2020 09:36

@UpsyDaisy1234 Congrats, very exciting!!

BS9790 · 19/06/2020 09:38

@Freddie1987 yes, it's fundal and anterior. So it goes over the top and down the front!
I've had the scan so just need to remember he's doing OK even though I can't feel him!

Those of you who have got their furniture already, where do you order from? Struggling where to look.
We've got an appointment at the mamas and papas factory clearance store next week... So hoping we can pick a few of the bigger bits up on good deals! X

1990shopefulftm · 19/06/2020 13:47

@BS9790 Argos, Asda and Wayfair, we were going to go with IKEA but it kept going out of stock or they couldn't deliver it

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 19/06/2020 15:17

Had my scan this morning and were having another little boy 😍

SamK93 · 19/06/2020 17:45

Congratulations @Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt 💙

I'm also adding a little boy to the group 💙

My scan was well, just need some reassurance from you ladies as my sonographer did pick up on something.
She said the skin at the back or the neck the fat pad should measure anything up to 6mm. One measurement she took was fine at 5.9 but when she looked again it was 7.5mm. She asked if I had the screening test for Downs, which I haven't as I wouldn't mind either way if the baby had downs or not. She said that because it's measuring 1.5mm more, that she has to send the images off for a second opinion. She said it may come back as fine as it's just an isolated thing and they think it's ok or they may want me to have another scan and further investigations. I did ask, if it was downs would she have picked up on anything else? She said more than likely yes there might have been other subtle indications too. But everything else seemed perfectly normal, no abnormalities detected. She did say it may just be that some babies are a bit bigger, and as it's only 1.5mm it may not be anything at all to worry about but because she has took a measurements of 7.5mm she has to send the images off.

I don't know how I feel?

Clalou83 · 19/06/2020 18:37

@SamK93 Yeah I think we Downs there are usually other tell tale signs ie the heart and often other organs are not attached in the same way.
I'd say it's natural to not know how your feel but at least they are being thorough.
Hang tight and best wishes x x
