Hello you lovely lot!!

Sorry I've been so MIA. Think the anxiety of pregnancy and the stress of what's happening in the world just got on top of me. Hope you are all doing well 💖💖

Had my anomaly scan today and everything was absolutely perfect.. so relieved! All the worry for nothing. Still haven't found out the sex and I didn't even have a peek when she told me to look away.. so was obviously the right decision for me! So excited to start researching and buying things now!!

Clalou83 · 16/06/2020 21:51

Yeah!! That's lovely. It's a relief isn't it when you get to see baby or hear the heart beat with the midwife. (I got to listen to the heart beat at week 18 as id still not felt anything at that point.) Congratulations all is well x x

Flora20 · 16/06/2020 22:28

@justtb That's lovely, glad all went well!

EmmaA96 · 16/06/2020 23:24

Nursery wallpaper delivered today, one step closer to being organised! I just can’t wait to sort everything from out the boxes I have on top / in our wardrobe into their own!

Has anyone decided on nursery furniture yet?

@EmmaA96 we ve got our furniture set up, everything was flat pack and with social distancing there's no guarantee DH could have had someone come help him so we decided to do it whilst I m still able to help him out stuff together.

romillyoikawa · 17/06/2020 01:05

I'm pregnant with twin boys due October 24 :)

SamK93 · 17/06/2020 07:26

I'm glad everything went well @justtb

Congratulations @romillyoikawa 💙💙

romillyoikawa · 17/06/2020 07:33

@SamK93 thankyou!!

Mc3209 · 17/06/2020 07:36

@justtb congratulations on your scan, delighted all is well ☺️
@romillyoikawa twins are very exciting! How is your pregnancy so far?

@EmmaA96 I haven't even started thinking about nursery yet.. feel so behind!

UpsyDaisy1234 · 17/06/2020 08:26

EmmaA96 Wow!

I already have a complete set of nursery furniture for one baby. But for our suprise two, we need to buy an extra chest of drawers & a second cot bed.

Where/what do you plan for your little girls to sleep in? My midwife said it's safe for twins to co-sleep in one cot bed for the first few weeks. I also read that sleeping in the same cot can help them regulate their body temperatures and sleep cycles, comforts and soothes them. So we would have two cot beds but will use only one for them atleast the first 2 months. I have bought a cot divider due to arrive soon.

For downstairs naps, I have no idea yet. I have one next to me crib. So I might look out for a second hand one & just buy a new mattrass.

Still got twin pram system on the list (def second hand) & then ofcourse a 7seater car (def used). Have you made up your mind on which car to buy yet?

We are definitely in for double trouble. Lol

UpsyDaisy1234 · 17/06/2020 08:32

@Justtb I'm glad to hear your scan went well. Mine is tomorrow & the nerves are building up already.

UpsyDaisy1234 · 17/06/2020 08:36

@romillyoikawa Congratulations on your little boys! And welcome to the twin team. How have you been so far?

DressingGown87 · 17/06/2020 08:36

Congratulations on your scan @justtb glad everything went well. Hope your feeling better.

@EmmaA96 love the wallpaper! I’ve spent the last few days skimming walls myself 🙈 so I can decorate the guest room. So at the minute everything is just a bit everywhere!

EmmaA96 · 17/06/2020 09:03

@UpsyDaisy1234 Yeah we are thinking the same! So looking for a nursery set I like then buying another cot. I would like to keep them together for as long as possible!

I’ve seen this chair no idea if it’s any good haven’t looked into reviews but possibly something like this for downstairs, so I know it’ll last into a bouncer rather than waste money on Moses baskets or something.

Luckily for us I had the bugaboo donkey when my youngest was born!! I just need to buy the fabrics for the carrycot for one side. We haven’t decided yet, I’m definitely swaying towards the Zafira or Touran. But would need to go view/ rest drive before making a decision, whenever that may be I’m too anxious to go out just yet going to wait a few weeks until everyone who’s rushed out is done and hopefully everywhere is much calmer!

Hahaha double trouble indeed they have turned our lives into chaos already!! 🤣

@DressingGown87 Our spare room was like a blue colour it’s had about 4 layers on the walls and I can still see it 😳 Hopefully be done this week 🤞🏼

WaveStreet · 17/06/2020 09:22

@justtb glad your scan went well, hope you're feeling better and it has eased some of your anxiety

@DressingGown87 how is the work on your house going?

My bump has definitely popped since my scan, no hiding it now!

GhostWorld · 17/06/2020 09:40

Bit off topic but I've been invited to a bday party abroad by a really close friend, the baby will be 6 months old at this point and I'll be gone for 3 nights, what do you all think? I have no real idea about what I'll be feeling 6 months in!

roarfeckingroar · 17/06/2020 10:25

@GhostWorld how far away is the party? I think it'll entirely depend on your baby and how settled / calm he/she is.

We're planning on heading to Australia / NZ with ours for a month around March to coincide with a wedding; baby will be 5 months old. Then we're hoping to have our wedding at the end of summer and spend two weeks in the Maldives for honeymoon before I start back at work in September 😂 - praying for a chilled out baby!! He will he well travelled at the very least but then I was too and fiancé and I met in Vietnam while both travelling solo for a year, so it's in his blood.

roarfeckingroar · 17/06/2020 10:26

@GhostWorld just realised you wouldn't be taking baby. Sorry, still feels early and I've been on work calls since 8. I reckon decide nearer the time.

Plentyofplants · 17/06/2020 13:07

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted in a while but I had my 20 week scan this morning, all is fine with the little one and we are expecting a baby girl 💗

Late October Thread - 4
Freddie1987 · 17/06/2020 13:27

@Plentyofplants Congratulations, how cute! It's like she's got her hand up to say 'please, no photos!' 😆

SamK93 · 17/06/2020 13:59

Lovely news @Plentyofplants congratulations 💕

Mc3209 · 17/06/2020 14:28

@Plentyofplants congratulations on your little girl! How exciting!

I am currently looking into pacifiers and to be honest I am lost. Orthodontic Vs normal ones, different types of them, and a million brands. I don't particularly want to accumulate industrial quantities of them just in case baby likes one type but not the other.. What are you all planning re pacifiers?

1990shopefulftm · 17/06/2020 14:30

@Mc3209 I ve ordered some tommee tippee ones, purely as the reviews seemed good. I dont know whether I ll get another brand in to incase he won't use them.

DressingGown87 · 17/06/2020 14:41

@EmmaA96 oh god! It’s takes ages doesn’t it! The girl Who use to live here had blood red skirting boards 🙈

@WaveStreet still have carpets and bathroom to do. I’ve plastered the guest room myself to save time, money, and because it was easier. So just started painting the ceilings, sanding the woodwork back to wood. Just keep doing bits at a time. Hope your doing ok!

@Plentyofplants congratulations on your scan and your little girl 💖

@GhostWorld it’s hard to say how you feel 3 days in. I would say it would be hard at any point when they are young. Providing baby is in a good routine, I wouldn’t say it would be an issue.

@Mc3209 I’ve got two of the TT and two MAM for now.
