Just got my BFP after six bloody long months of trying. Thrilled but a bit weirded out! Anyone in the same boat?

I am due 4th Jan. Still in complete shock, first time ive ever had unprotected sex Blush and first symptom for me was adversion to alcohol and painful boobs. Since then I have felt exhausted craving juice and pasta! I normally eat loads of veg/salad but can’t stand the site of it! Also a bit concerned as still waiting on a midwife appointment! As I haven’t been able to tell anyone it’s nice to let it out on here!!

Dia12 · 21/05/2020 14:46

Congrats @angelalaland that's some precision timing ! How are you going to get around the veg/salad aversion?!
I'm a little behind you and not experiencing any symptoms except some pulling/pinching twinges.

Congrats @KSI88, what lovely news after the sad loss. I've experienced the same and it's hard to try and contain the excitement for the fear of all the unknowns. Was your urine a particular concentrated sample? I would take the high hcg as a definite positive.....

KSI88 · 21/05/2020 14:52

@Dia12 Thank you

I've been having stronger lines since 8dpo and a 1-2 weeks at 10dpo then 2-3 today with diluted urine around 12pm. As I'm only 3w 4d I just wonder if my HCG levels are really high. It's too early to call and book my first midwife appointment as they won't book you in until 4 weeks at the earliest. Maybe just worrying over nothing 😊

@Dia12 sorry to hear about your loss too x

KSI88 · 21/05/2020 14:53

No idea why my text is bold - sorry!

angelalaland · 21/05/2020 14:55

@Dia12 thanks! Would not have planned an early Jan pregnancy especially as starting back at uni in Sept but my husband and I are obviously pleased. I am a vegan so veg adversion is definitely not ideal!! I’m trying not to worry too much and just hope my taste returns soon!! All the early symptoms have been so intense for me! Had a 4 day migraine which was ridiculous!

footprintsintheslow · 21/05/2020 17:10

@angelalaland I'm vegan too and I'm feel so sick right now. Every afternoon it comes on like clockwork. Still eating though lol

Dia12 · 25/05/2020 11:51

How is everyone doing?
I'm getting a lot of pain in my right side groin, trying not to over think but did give me a sleepless night. No other symptoms at all 🧐

WindsorBlues · 25/05/2020 13:18

I'm feeling fantastic all symptoms are gone and I'm filled with energy and my appetite is back. This has made my anxiety sky rocket cause I'm thinking something must be wrong if Im not feeling miserable.

Pigeonpresent · 25/05/2020 15:12

I think I might be jumping on the Jan2020 bus at the last stop, looking at a due date Jan 31st.
Similar to @footprintsintheslow I have a big gap, eldest is 18 in 2 weeks, another teen and a 3 yo.
Thought I’d know what I was doing by the 4th but the current Covid situation has me confused.
Happy to be here anyway after a miscarriage last year. Hi future mums!

MrsJamieLWeir · 25/05/2020 17:29

Hey everyone :)

Based on my last period I'm due 3rd January making me 8+1 but had an early scan today and I'm measuring 6+5 so will be due the 13th... healthy heart beat so I guess dates etc get confirmed at the dating scan (12 weeks?) first pregnancy, such a mix of emotions and have been experiencing horrendous nausea and tiredness for the last 2 weeks, Ice lollies and dry mini wheatabix are my go to atm 🙈🙈

Congratulations to everyone :)

Jamie x

Onekidnoclue · 25/05/2020 17:51

Hi everyone! Congratulations.
This early stage is such a nervous time. Especially when your symptoms change or you’ve had a loss before.

Onekidnoclue · 26/05/2020 09:51

Yuck. The nausea and exhaustion have started. Feel like crap! Though weirdly reassured to have symptoms - I’ve clearly gone nuts! Who on earth would be happy to feel sick??? Confused
How’s everyone else getting on?

Pigeonpresent · 26/05/2020 11:49

@Onekidnoclue I’ve written a list in prep for this today- ginger biscuits, ginger ale, chewing gum and peppermint tea. Such fun times

Onekidnoclue · 26/05/2020 13:50

@Pigeonpresent I hate ginger! Gum is a great shout though. Off to the shops with me.
If only I could stop burping! Confused

Hi All!!

According to the NHS calculator I am due 19th January, I am over the moon, my birthday is in January and secretly wanted the baby to be born in Jan too!

We haven't told anyone yet, it is killing me slightly so I am super exciting to share the news on here! Also, there is only so much that my husband will talk about it, he is being sensible and trying not to get my hopes up should anything happen, but I just can't help it!!

I am sooo glad I am not in the office at the moment, I am peeing way more and feel exhausted! No sickness as of yet.

Not sure about you ladies but I do get twinges or pulling pain occasionally, especially when I stand up too quickly.

Also I AM HUNGRY ALL OF THE TIME Grin

Onekidnoclue · 26/05/2020 14:08

Congratulations @dinkymamma90
It’s sooooo hard not to tell people isn’t it. I’m dying to tell friends but husband wants to wait and that’s fair enough. Not exactly on a clock. They’ll find out eventually. I’m about 5 weeks too. Feels a long time to January.

I just got my BFP 3 days ago. Been trying for a year and It hasn't sunk in yet

DinkyMamma90 · 26/05/2020 14:28

Congrats Smile Yes, Jan feels like a million years away.

Yes that is fair.

I mainly want my close friends to know so I can stop pretending to drink alcohol when we skype Grin I am also really tired and can't seem to stay up late which I am finding hard when chatting with friends.

Onekidnoclue · 26/05/2020 14:49

Great news Amazon. Is this your first?
A year of nothing is tough. We were trying six months and that felt like an age, though I’m very old so was worried more than I might have been as a young un!

amazon1066 · 26/05/2020 15:24

Yes onkidnoclue, It is my first, I've had irregular periods ever since I was young so I was always sceptical about fertility. NHS calendar says I'm due on 25th Jan. I only found out 2 days ago, I tested again just because I'm crazy. I'm yet to ring the drs.

Onekidnoclue · 26/05/2020 18:24

More than one test isn’t crazy at all! And I haven’t called the dr. You’ll need a booking appointment by 10 weeks so I figure if I call within the next three weeks (before I’m 8 weeks) then that’s loads of time. Perhaps I’m just in denial. Doesn’t feel real.

OP posts:
Dia12 · 26/05/2020 19:02

I'm still fairly free of symptoms except for being ridiculously tired today. Already napped twice and feel ridiculously lazy but genuinely feel zapped of energy.

Is anyone thinking of having an early scan? I'm eagerly awaiting getting to week 7 so I can have a scan but also considering hanging on till week 8 so I can be 100% sure to see heartbeat.

Until then I just don't think I'll really be convinced I'm pregnant.

footprintsintheslow · 26/05/2020 19:10

Hi everyone, welcome and congratulations to everyone new.
I feel sick as a dog and can really only stomach white toast and marmite at the moment. Cups of tea are definitely off the agenda too.

Anyone due on the 25th January might like to know that it's the Welsh Valentine day. We call it St Dwynwen and she was a young woman who went to live on the little island off Anglesey after she was heart broken.

As for scans: I've had a scan last week at 5 weeks and I have another on Thursday. Both NHS as I've had a couple of miscarriages before and one was at 20 weeks so they are keeping a closer eye on me. There wasn't much to see but at least I know there's something definitely in there in the right place.
