Just got my BFP after six bloody long months of trying. Thrilled but a bit weirded out! Anyone in the same boat?

That must be so reassuring @footprintsintheslow ! I’m hoping they’ll offer me an early one too as I miscarries last year. You’re not alone there OP, I’m 39 in a few months and worried I’ll be the oldest mum on the ward!

Onekidnoclue · 27/05/2020 08:59

Ha @Pigeonpresent we’ll be there with our newborns and Zimmer frames!!!

OP posts:
Dia12 · 27/05/2020 09:24

Lol @ zimmerframes!

I'm 40 and am super paranoid that I'll look like the granny in the antenatal classes/ward etc.
Now thinking about it, I wonder if we will still have any antenatal classes in the traditional sense? And what else will be different thanks to coronavirus!

Jeanbean17 · 27/05/2020 09:28

Hi everyone, congratulations to you all!

My due date according to LMP is 25th Jan but my cycles are a bit longer due to PCOS so I think 29th Jan is more like it.

This is my 2nd time pregnant after a miscarriage in March at 5w+5, currently 5w+2 and bricking it 😂 but really reassuring to see that everyone seems to feel the same, regardless of history. Would love to join the private FB group please? The link on previous posts doesn't seem to be working for me...

Onekidnoclue · 27/05/2020 10:23

I’m so old I’m not on Facebook!

I’m so sorry for everyone’s losses. It must make this even more nerve wracking. As if we needed more stress!!

I’m not quite forty but have had the depressing realisation I’m easily old enough to be a granny which is a bit alarming.

I wonder about antenatal classes too. I think Nct are doing them on Zoom. Just hoping this crazy situation is over soon. I hate the idea of nobody being able to meet my baby. Or not being able to have someone with me in labour.

@Dia12 yes I am having an early private scan at 8 +1 on Saturday week :) seems like such a long wait to my 12 week scan which is on 6th July!

Dia12 · 27/05/2020 23:24

Not long to go for 8w scan @SkylinesTurnstiles. Looks like you and I are on the same time frame - I'm 12w on 5th July - just have no idea how I'm going to make it till then!

We haven't book our reassurance scan yet but I'm trying to hold out till 8 weeks too but might cave in earlier.

Been feeling queasy today but not full on nauseous. Feels somewhat reassuring.

Opelbow · 28/05/2020 14:23

Hello everyone.

Just joining. Only tested 2 day's ago. I'm due on 22nd January. 1st baby. I'll turn 30 on the 22nd December this year.

Lovelife92 · 28/05/2020 19:13

Hello everyone 😊
I'm new to mumsnet. I have known for a few weeks now that I'm pregnant for the first time and very excited! Due on 15th Jan - the same date as a few of you!
Excited about sharing this journey with you all! X

Onekidnoclue · 28/05/2020 19:23

How exciting! There are a fair few of us in the same boat. Grin
I’m burping uncontrollably all the time and a big nauseous but no other symptoms. Starting to get anxious as I really ‘felt pregnant’ last time.

OP posts:
Lovelife92 · 28/05/2020 19:30

I feel like over the past 3 weeks I've had quite a few symptoms that come and go. I have sore nipples, sometimes nauseous, need to wee all the time and a few others. At the moment (6 weeks +6) I can only eat smaller meals, I feel full for ages but the second I'm hungry I need to eat as I feel empty but sick 🤷‍♀️ and I can only eat what I fancy at the time. Today for lunch I changed my mind 3 times in less than a minute about what I wanted 😂 x

Opelbow · 28/05/2020 19:58

I seam to keep lurching from staving to full / indigestion/ nauseous.

Lovelife92 · 28/05/2020 20:10

@Opelbow that doesn't sound too nice! I've definitely found that eating smaller meals is helping me and whenever I'm suddenly starving I grab a digestive biscuit x

footprintsintheslow · 28/05/2020 20:37

@Opelbow I'm exactly the same. All I want to eat is white toast, beans on toast and water melon and strawberries 🍓

Opelbow · 28/05/2020 20:39

@Lovelife92 thanks for the advice. I also find ginger tea helps.

Lovelife92 · 28/05/2020 20:50

@Opelbow I've never had ginger tea. I must try it 😁

Positivity2019 · 28/05/2020 21:59

Hello everyone. Thought I would join. I tested last Friday and finally got my BFP after a year of trying. Since then I’ve taken five further tests, all positive. EDD 27-29 Jan, I guess I’ll get a better idea at 12 weeks.
12 weeks feels incredibly far away!! I keep going to the toilet to check all is still ok.
Got my first midwife app on the 8th June to get the show on the road.
Congratulations to you all!!

footprintsintheslow · 29/05/2020 07:50

Congratulations @Positivity2019 welcome to the thread.

As for ginger tea, my husband made me a ginger and lemon hot drink the other day and it's the first time I've felt human for ages.

Lovelife92 · 29/05/2020 08:32

Congratulations @positivity2019! Did you have to do a self referral form for midwife? I'm due 15th Jan and phoned the docs as soon as I knew (week 4/5) and they said to do a self referral form. Looked at the form and it said I couldn't submit it until I was 6 weeks so I waited until then. That was 1 week ago today and I haven't heard anything yet. It did said they will be in touch within 10 working days so that's not until the end of next week I suppose, I'm just a little impatient! Haha! X

Candyflosscrochet · 29/05/2020 10:42

Morning guys!
Can I join? 4th pregnancy at the ripe geriatric age if 37! Eldest daughter turned 16 yesterday! Due 25th Jan ish, have booked an early scan in a few weeks for reassurance and better date as certain i ovulated late in cycle (but have adjusted due date to when i think i did....will see if im right!!) Haven't told family yet as wanted to do it when we are face to face rather than video, but had to tell work as am NHS seeing patients.
Exciting but scary times!! Xx

Onekidnoclue · 29/05/2020 11:29

So exciting.
Are the early scans people are having NHS or private?

OP posts:
Positivity2019 · 29/05/2020 12:29

@Lovelife92 thanks so much. No I didn’t have to self refer to the midwife. I called my GP surgery and the receptionist booked the appointment for me. It was fine and simple which was a relief as this is my first and it’s all new to me. I don’t blame you for being impatient!! I know I am. I will be 6+3 by the time I have my appointment.

@footprintsintheslow thanks for the welcome!
@Onekidnoclue yes I am booking my early scan privately. I’ve been in two minds about it but I really would like my partner to be there for the first scan.

Lovelife92 · 29/05/2020 12:46

@positivity2019 that's so good that you got it booked so easily. I've actually just had 3 appointment letters through the post! An appointment at the blood clinic on 13th June (will be 9 weeks), a telephone appointment with midwife on 23rd June and my first scan on 3rd July when I will be exactly 12 weeks! It says to check the website for my local maternity place for info about who is allowed to scans but I can't find any info on it at all. I'm hoping by then my partner is allowed to come. Also my first pregnancy 😊 so exciting for us all! X
