Just got my BFP after six bloody long months of trying. Thrilled but a bit weirded out! Anyone in the same boat?

Hey :) found out this weekend, I'm 5 weeks. First baby. Feeling very isolated though as too early to tell anyone, 4 weeks away from my first appointment... so my mind is racing!
So far some tenderness and cramping, more uncomfortable than I expected (or I'm led to believe by google anyway) and a little bit of nausea.

Hi @Gurtie28 sorry to hear about your mmc. You clearly deserve some good luck.
Three year old plus lockdown is carnage. He’s batshit mental! He needs other children to play with. I feel crap for him really, just hope he can go back to nursery soon. How’s yours?

Hi All,
Lovely to find a birth club! I am 4 weeks and 2 days, baby #1. I’m from all the way in Melbourne, Australia 😃
How is everyone feeling? I have sore boobs and that is basically all - no nausea at all.

beautifuldream · 20/05/2020 06:26

Also I forgot to mention, my due date is Jan 25th, 2021 🥰

WindsorBlues · 20/05/2020 08:27

Welcome to all the newbies. I'm wondering if anyone knows if your partner is allowed to come into your scan with you or do you have to go in your own because of Corona?

SkylinesTurnstiles · 20/05/2020 08:42

I booked a scan through Window to Womb for 2 weeks Saturday. On one part of the website it says you shouldn’t bring anyone and come alone, and then on the final booking it says if you have to, you can bring one person. So I’m taking that as DH can come :) But I will clarify closer to the time.
I am not sure about NHS though, from what I’m seeing on here I think you have to come alone. :(

Gurtie28 · 20/05/2020 08:56

@onekidnoclue batshit mental hahaha that's a perfect way to describe 3 yr olds!!! Couldn't sum it up better

Lottiepxx · 20/05/2020 08:56

Yes due the 19th january. Congratulations xx

BabyDust13 · 20/05/2020 09:12

Morning ladies my due date is the 22nd January seems like ages away but I'm sure it will fly by once I get past the 12 weeks

Onekidnoclue · 20/05/2020 09:18

I think it’s mums only for nhs scans. I went to my first ones solo so not to worried but then I didn’t have to break bad news afterwards so I guess it’s just luck. I think hearing bad news alone would be horrendous.
I’m weirdly worried about the fact then midwife appointments are cut down so much. As a second time mum i think I’ll only have four face to face. Last time I had ten and they always checked for pre eclampsia. Surely it’s either needed or not?? Sorry to panic people!

Thank you, I gave my trust a ring and theyve confirmed its mum's only. I'm ringing round the private clinics now to see who'll take both of us, after everything we've been through I'd like to hear the heartbeat together for the first time.

eatthepineapple · 20/05/2020 15:37

Hello! I've come to join the thread. Supposedly due 13th Jan though I actually can't remember when my last period was even though I just came off the pill, so it could be a bit out. 2nd baby so I'm glad I know a bit more what to expect but it still doesn't really feel real yet!

footprintsintheslow · 20/05/2020 19:55

Hi all the new people, congratulations to you all! I hope you are all managing your symptoms if you have any? I'm pretty much ok except for total wipeout exhaustion in the afternoon. I had a little nap today and I feel great for it. This time last night I was asleep in bed!

beautifuldream · 21/05/2020 10:31

Congratulations to all the BFP's!!! I am also pregnant with baby #1 and due 25 of Jan! Super crazy feeling isn't it, getting that BFP! Sooo grateful and happy but at the same time sooo nerve racking, just not wanting anything to go wrong.
Has anyone else felt anxious? I find myself worrying over the silliest things.
For example this morning I took a test (up to 17DPO) and i wasn't sure if the line was darker than yesterday's.....
is anyone else still testing??
I think I need to hide the tests and not test because I am just doing my head in.

Onekidnoclue · 21/05/2020 11:11

I’m starting to think I’m the only one not testing all the time!
It just doesn’t feel real for me but I don’t think testing and testing will help. It’s a bit shit but I’m trying to forget about it!
Think I’m due 22 jan so will wait a week or two then phone dr and book in with midwife.

@beautifuldream I'm 20dpo and have been testing the whole time I have one digital left and after that I'm going to stop otherwise my OH may actually think I'm completely crazy 😂 but it makes me feel better

footprintsintheslow · 21/05/2020 11:59

@Onekidnoclue I did one test to find out I'm pregnant and that's been it.

beautifuldream · 21/05/2020 11:59

@BabyDust13 I hear you girl! I only test in the mornings, have three FRER’s left and 1 digital.
I am going to take one more FRER tomorrow, and then stop testing with those, and keep my last digital for another 1 week away. They’re so expensive might as well use it lol.

PencilSkirt · 21/05/2020 12:08

I feel nervous about posting (a kind of silly superstition, I suppose) but I am currently 6+2 with my first pregnancy. Our due date varies depending on which site I use, but the NHS site says 18th January. I'm 37 so realise I'm at a slightly higher risk of complications.

BabyDust13 · 21/05/2020 12:46

@beautifuldream I just want to see a 3+ and then I'll be happy 😂 and probably start worrying about other things 😂

LouMorgan97 · 21/05/2020 12:51

Hi everyone! I'm due January 20th according to the NHS Grin so nice to see so many Mums due in January! How's everyone coping?

Dia12 · 21/05/2020 13:30

I'm usually someone who is very impatient but I've seen so many fading positive hpts that I can't bring myself to do any further tests.
So far, my most reassuring symptom is that I've had no bleeding so taking this as a good sign.

Now just counting down the days to when we can have an early scan - I'm only 5+4!

SkylinesTurnstiles · 21/05/2020 14:14

Glad there is a few of us sharing the same experiences!
Anyone else having an early scan because they’re hella impatient like myself?! I am having a scan 2 weeks on Saturday, I’ll be 8+1.
What’s everyone’s most stand out symptom at the moment? I have to say mine is the stretchy/pulley cramps. They’re rather uncomfortable!

KSI88 · 21/05/2020 14:19

Hi all,

can I join? Got my BFP last week at 8dpo. Been TTC since October 19 and had an early miscarriage in March so I'm really nervous now. 13dpo today 3w 4d and have got a positive CB digital showing 2-3 weeks! Should I be concerned? Just high HCG? Twins?!!

All being well I think I'll book an early scan.

This looks like a great thread. Congrats lovely ladies 💕🌸
