The nursery is painting is almost finished, ordered a couple of bits of furniture was planning to order after my scan next Monday but one of them has a 2 week delivery time on it anyway and they all allow returns.

Starting to get aches in my feet, i did physio for years as i had very flat feet when I was born and it's feeling like that ache, hoping that they don't get anywhere near how bad it was when i was younger.

roarfeckingroar · 31/05/2020 18:54

@1990shopefulftm how exciting! What colours have you gone for? I would love to decorate our nursery but it's my flat that DP moved into and we're aiming to buy one via first time buyer (in his name) and rent this place early next year when baby will still be in our room and having animal stencils may make it harder to let out 😉. God that was a long sentence!

How's everyone feeling this evening? I'm roasting a chicken to eat with salad and sautéed potatoes.

1990shopefulftm · 31/05/2020 19:02

@roarfeckingroar onebsky blue wall and the rest white, we re going to get a tree sticker for the wall with their name on once we know what we re having.

Why don't you look into stick on wall paper or decals for the wall and then you can pull it off when you need to if you feel like you want a bit of decorating?

roarfeckingroar · 31/05/2020 20:39

@1990shopefulftm that sounds beautiful. That's a good idea, I'm trying to resist spending money though given we're hoping to buy the new place and baby will be in with us.

1990shopefulftm · 31/05/2020 20:42

@roarfeckingroar I think there's a big range of how much decals can cost but perhaps you d be able to take them to the next place with you.

Flora20 · 31/05/2020 20:44

@roarfeckingroar We rent and I've just decorated our toddler's room with wall stickers - really cheap and effective and they come off easily. This is one of the walls.

Oh and I got this, some butterflies and some rainbows for about £20 all together

KitKatKit · 31/05/2020 21:06

@flora20 Your wall looks fab!!

DressingGown87 · 31/05/2020 21:22

@1990shopefulftm that’s so exciting!

My friends business is wall decals. They are going to design me a giraffe, elephant and a tree for my wall, with Her name. It’s freshly painted grey, with a large ornate mirror on the wall, and picture shelves.

@Flora20 love that wall!

20 week Scan tomorrow 😰

1990shopefulftm · 31/05/2020 21:25

@DressingGown87 that sounds like a beautiful nursery decoration.

WaveStreet · 31/05/2020 21:53

Sounds like some lovely nurseries coming along. I have an idea of what I'd like to do but we're also repurposing a room we use so not in a huge hurry to get it started just yet. I'll keep myself occupied with Pinterest in the mean time!

@DressingGown87 good luck for tomorrow. I guess there's lots of scans this week and next. Cant believe how quickly it's come round.

I need to sort myself out this week, i have eaten SO much lately 😅

KitKatKit · 31/05/2020 22:12

@DressingGown87 Good luck! Sending you all the good vibes 💜
Mine is on Tuesday, eeeek!

Elizag20 · 31/05/2020 22:24

Thanks for all of your advice ladies. I don’t think he understands it from my perspective and I don’t know how to articulate how I’m feeling any better than I already have. I’m unsure of what to do next but know I need to try and take a mental break from it all.

Baby is really active today so that’s keeping me happy ☺️

Is anyone else high risk? I want to start buying things but scared something bad is still going to happen.

roarfeckingroar · 31/05/2020 22:26

@Flora20 that looks beautiful !!!

roarfeckingroar · 31/05/2020 22:28

@DressingGown87 that sounds beautiful too!!

Best of luck with your scans @DressingGown87 @KitKatKit

DressingGown87 · 31/05/2020 22:33

@1990shopefulftm thank you! Hope your feet are feeling a little better!

@WaveStreet I’m putting mine off, as it means my dressing room has gone! But going to revamp the gym into half a dressing room! I know lots of scans coming up, it’s gone so quick! We are in June tomorrow!

@KitKatKit thank you! Good luck for yours on Tuesday! One step closer, and half way!

@elizag20 try and take a mental break, and hopefully he will realise / understand your point of view soon. Sometimes takes people a few days to process the meaning of things. Glad the baby is really active. I’m high risk. I’ve still got anxiety over buying thing, but working on this with my peri natal counsellor. Have they offered you any extra support? I’ve just taken “baby” steps. I’ve done lots of research and lists, but not committed to anything yet. Once I had my scan tomorrow and consultants appointment, I’m going to try start buying things, which helps because I know what I need to get. When it arrives I’m going to put it all in a room, untouched until I’m ready for that stage. Take things at your own pace, make little to do list, achievement goals, and try not to be too worried.

Elizag20 · 31/05/2020 22:47

@DressingGown87 no, I haven’t had any extra support. I still don’t have an assigned midwife. I hope you enjoy seeing baby at the scan ☺️ Yes I have my appointment with my specialist in a couple of weeks so maybe I’ll think about making some small purchases then. Sort of stuck though because they’ve told me baby is probably going to come early so if everything ends up fine I’ll be doing a lot of purchasing in a short amount of time haha

Elizag20 · 31/05/2020 22:48

@Flora20 the wall looks great!!

1990shopefulftm · 01/06/2020 11:02

The cot isn't supposed to be here until the end of the week but Asda have dispatched it to arrive tonight so if anyone wants something speedy try Asda.

WaveStreet · 01/06/2020 11:55

Maxi cosi have 20% off everything, their bedside crib is only £150 at the moment.

DressingGown87 · 01/06/2020 12:30

@Elizag20 I’m the same, been told to be prepared from 34 weeks. So going to start this week with purchasing. Hope you get some additional support for your anxiety.

@wavestreet aww that’s great! Will order it this afternoon, all being Well at the scan. How long is it on offer for?

@1990shopefulftm that great! Your going to be all set!

1990shopefulftm · 01/06/2020 12:35

@DressingGown87 we might hold off putting in together for a bit, unfortunately my knee and hips are adding to the foot problems so don't fancy standing for a while to sort a cot at the moment.
Can't make my mind up if I should bother with physio as with the relaxin I m not sure there's much they can do to help.

Hope your scan goes well :)

WaveStreet · 01/06/2020 12:38

@DressingGown87 I'm not sure how long it's on for, i saw the offer on kiddieskingdom as they price match. What time is your scan today? Hope you don't have too much longer to wait.

Freddie1987 · 01/06/2020 13:23

@DressingGown87 hope all goes well at your scan!☺️

Some lovely nursery ideas coming along. We've got a spare room that we painted one wall a soft green and the rest a chalky white so was thinking of slowly converting it into some sort of woodland theme...love the idea of the decals, also on the hunt for some decent bookshelves for kids. Also debating a little velvet green rocking chair from Dunelm for feeding but could be a bit of a pointless purchase!

Glooorb · 01/06/2020 14:39

@wavestreet thank you for the heads up on the 20% off! Very helpful - will probably make our first big purchase for the baby tonight!
