@DressingGown87 @SJR86 Aww thanks again for your kind words.
Yeah I agree I'm good at noticing my emotions and letting them have their place so good to cry and let it out feels quite powerful like your letting go, just being careful not to absorb it -yoga and meditation as taught me this.
Yeah these times are just crazy, I bet you guys are the same not even had a hug from my mum to say congratulations x
But like ya said mountains of positives we will pretty much have maternity leave for the whole pregnancy time to chill, sort the house think I've done all my nesting already lol and so much rest and time to prepare nice meals x

Thanks again lovely ladies x x

roarfeckingroar · 21/05/2020 20:09

@Clalou83 very positive way of looking at things Smile

Clalou83 · 21/05/2020 20:30

@roarfeckingroar It's the only way to get through anything in life I think, we'll I try anyways. Doesn't stop me worrying but that's just human nature isn't it x x
It's so lovely to have the space, even more so when we are not out and about seeing BF friends and family x x
All in the same boat.

Flora20 · 22/05/2020 08:09

@Clalou83 It's much better to let your emotions out than bottle them up - pregnancy's a strange enough time anyway even without a pandemic to deal with too! Hope you're feeling better this morning X

Clalou83 · 22/05/2020 08:34

@Flora20 Aww thank you lovely. X

Has anyone else who is still working absolutely lacking any motivation? I feel like my energy has crashed and my brain is foggy and I just can't get into my work.

DressingGown87 · 22/05/2020 12:19

@roarfeckingroar Just stopped working, as I lost concentration to sit on mums net and online shop! So yes! Can't seem to motivate myself to start / finish certain projects, or concentrate long enough once I start. Plus simple designs / regulations I can't seem to remember, brain fog!

roarfeckingroar · 22/05/2020 12:33

@DressingGown87 yes! I have a cloud of fog where my brain once was. I work in corporate comms and need to pull together a strategy doc that should take an hour but feels insurmountable.

Clalou83 · 22/05/2020 13:17

Afternoon all. Thank you for yesterday and your kind words.
The scan went really well, was great to have my fella there.
We didn't find out what the gender is but we know it's healthy and long (oh dear) My partners 6ft 4 so could be big, hope it levels out. (It's 15 days ahead with the growth rate at the mo)

I haven't been working I can only imagine what I would feel like. Especially in the 1st trimester.

Have a good day everyone x x

WaveStreet · 22/05/2020 15:47

Glad your scan provided you with some reassurance @Clalou83, hopefully that helped, and nice to have your partner there to enjoy it with you.

Good for those managing to continue to work so far! I'm off too and struggle some days due to tiredness or lack of motivation, i find it hard to do much as it is!

justtb · 22/05/2020 16:28

@roarfeckingroar talk about brain frog! I went to fill up the car a couple weeks back and forgot my PIN number. I almost cried just because I couldn't remember it and worried all day about it.. then in the evening it just magically popped into my head and I had to go into town to unlock my card at a cash machine 🥵 exhausting

Burst into tears at work this morning because my manager was blunt with me and then sweated most of my shift away 😂 I only work 4 hours a day, but I'm absolutely done in the evenings! Now I'm at the vets and want to cry because it feels like I'm handing my dog over to the slaughter.. hormones are crazy!!!

I feel grateful to be able to work from home but after 8 hours I feel like that's a lot of brain power used, i m trying to do puzzles to help the baby brain a bit.
I put salt in the fridge the other day and couldn't find it for ages.

roarfeckingroar · 22/05/2020 16:51

Oh @justtb what a stressful day! There's no shame in crying, I do it every few days at the moment. I really appreciate being able to WFH wearing whatever I like, eating and lying on a sofa when necessary. I hope your doggy is ok?

@1990shopefulftm I cooked a steak and went to wash up the plate earlier with the the cut off piece of fat still there. I just stared at it for a minute or so before realising what was wrong.

@DressingGown87 I WROTE THE STRATEGY DOC! And a huge piece of comms based on way more input than I asked for required. YAY!!!

Mc3209 · 22/05/2020 17:06

@roarfeckingroar congrats on getting through that hurdle!
I am with you on brain fog front. I am usually a well balanced, productive individual, but over the past few weeks I've been asked to take on more projects, clinics, extend the hours etc and normally I would just get on with it, but I ended up having a cry today because I feel it takes double the effort to get through the fraction of what I was able to do. I hate feeling this way, and I did not expect to feel this way when pregnant, this is a complete curve ball.
To add insult to injury, our dryer broke and I am sorting out a new one, and when I asked my DH whether our current one is a condenser or whatever the other type is, I got a lecture on 'what does a dryer do? Think about it, there is a section for water to collect into'. I haven't felt so stupid or exhausted in a long time.

@Mc3209 chuck him in the sodding dryer, or under the patio. Absolutely get what you mean about a fraction of work taking double the effort. Some days are harder than others. I went for a walk and bought a steak, which I ate rarer than I really should have for lunch. Perked me up to get the work done.

DressingGown87 · 22/05/2020 17:13

@roarfeckingroar Glad you've managed to do it! I gave up and have led on the sofa all afternoon. I work in Architecture and Engineering, and don't have the brain power to do regulation drawings / construction drawings for submission today, and have to make sure its right.

@Clalou83 Aww glad your feeling between! Wow such a long baby, but glad you got to experience it together and get some reassurance.

@1990shopefulftm Oh Dear! I think unfortunately it's going to get worse!

@justtb Aww hope your dog is ok?

I've just had a builder round. I've re-design areas in my house to fit the baby in better, pram store, essential storage, taking out walls, new bathroom, landscape garden! I'm going to regret it all when it starts, hate living on building sites.

1990shopefulftm · 22/05/2020 17:22

@roarfeckingroar yes it takes so much more time to process sometimes.

@DressingGown87 yes I think it will get worse. I m sure the building works will a be worth it, we ve had over two years on and off of different things in the house as almost all of it needs something doing.

The nursery and our box room had the plastering finished today so waiting for it to dry then we can pick paint colours out and I can order furniture.

EmmaA96 · 22/05/2020 20:16

Ugh is anyone else suffering with heartburn? It seems to of come back with a vengeance, every pregnancy! I have a prescription to pick up tomorrow to help. I also was half way eating my dinner and just thought I’m going to be sick, followed by vomiting.

Feeling rather deflated now as I’d been feeling really well!! Hungry in bed but scared to eat and panicking about the babies! Roll on my next scan on Wednesday.

Flora20 · 22/05/2020 21:23

@EmmaA96 I literally just came on to ask if anyone else was suffering with heartburn yet! I'm sure I didn't get it until later on last time - bearing in mind how much gaviscon I was downing by the end last time I'm a bit worried! I've just had my customary pre-bed glug of it - not the most exciting nightcap in the world 😂

Clalou83 · 22/05/2020 23:01

@Flora20 @EmmaA96 Yep on an evening alittle heart burn if eat too much for tea or have fizzy drink, which I never usually have but I fancied a Diet Coke had half a can then felt it coming on. Took two Rennies and sorted straight away.

SamK93 · 23/05/2020 00:24

@EmmaA96 I'm 17 weeks now and heartburn has definitely come around earlier in this pregnancy. It's been a couple of weeks for me now, usually every evening and it's even worse if I'm hungry lol! I can't stand the taste of the gaviscon liquid so I have a couple of the gaviscon chewables and they really help.

Flora20 · 23/05/2020 07:21

@Clalou83 Without wanting to be the voice of doom, it's unlikely the rennies will help for long - pregnancy heartburn seems to be a particularly vicious version that normal remedies can't touch... By about 7 months last time I had one of the massive bottles of gaviscon in my classroom and was having to swig it in the middle of lessons 😂

Sls668 · 23/05/2020 09:39

I always liked the old wives tale that a lot of bad heartburn meant your baby would be born with lots of hair so every time I get bad heart burn I just think about a hairy baby popping out 😂 I don’t think it’s actually true, although it was for me sister with her first, but it just always makes me smile.
In other news, we were booked to go on a huge family holiday to Florida in July and now I think we’re going to try push it back either to April or July which means I could be doing Florida with a 5 month old! We hadn’t even planned for my bf to come as it’s so expensive! Think I must be crazy to even consider Florida with a 5 month old and no partner with me! My family are so helpful though so I know they’ll all help out but still a scary thought!

roarfeckingroar · 23/05/2020 10:43

Good morning!!

My 20 week scan went well this morning! All looks good with baby and his little heart beat was so strong 😍. It's crazy to think that's it for scans now and next time I'll see baby boy he will be here!! Wow.

Slightly concerned from the photo that I'm actually expecting a little Stegosaurus!
