I'm starting to find it really difficult to bent over.. it kind of feels like I'm pushing babe down and get loads of pressure on my bladder and bowel area. Is anyone else having this? I didn't think I'd have trouble bending for a good few weeks/months

sunbreak · 20/05/2020 22:03

Not so much pregnancy related, but has any of you been checking their breasts since getting pregnant? I haven't as I thought how would I notice any new lump if they are growing anyway? I checked them today but they definitely feel different, thankfully nothing bag jumped at me. So just wondering about your experience with this.

sunbreak · 20/05/2020 22:06

@DressingGown87 what did you talk about with John Lewis? I've noticed few of you mentioning appointments with mamas and papas but just wondering what those include and if you're pressured to buy anything. I would probably buy a large chunk of things second hand so most likely won't buy anything at John Lewis or Mamas and Papas but would quite like to know what to look for.

roarfeckingroar · 20/05/2020 22:31

Is anyone else back to feeling shattered even after a long sleep? My dreams are still nuts and I wake up feeling like I've run a race or battled an empire.

20 week scan on Saturday Smile

DressingGown87 · 20/05/2020 22:33

No I’ve not really noticed any change with my breasts. They got bigger to start, but have stopped now, and seem normal. Seem to be doing ok with bending down too. Just exhaustion, which I’m finding frustrating.

@sunbreak I didn’t feel pressured into buying anything with either company. MP was a video appointment, I could see them, but they couldn’t see me. They went through prams, and cots, around what I had researched already, with alternative suggestions. They demonstrated putting them up / down. Taking the wheels off, changing from carry cot, to seat etc. I found it very usefully, than just looking at pictures. JL appointment was just a call, they again went through recommendations based on my preferences, explained the different features. Spoke about different styles of car seats, bases, and how the inserts work (for example one car seat you can take out the insert in stages, so you can give the body more room, whilst still supporting the head, where as other seats the whole insert is one piece). I found them both really informative, and it changed my mind on some of the things I had originally selected from online research. I feel I have made the right decisions on the next to me, car seat, isofix, based on these appointments, and for me probably going to have a NICU baby. So I will order them after my 20 week scan. As for pram, I have two on a short list, which I just want to test push first, but this limits my time in a store. Hope that helps x

DressingGown87 · 20/05/2020 22:36

@roarfeckingroar I go to bed so early nowadays, but still feel so tired. I’m such an “on the go” person it’s just frustrating me. As I have little energy to do anything, cleaning and cooking are just so much effort. Hope your scan goes well on Saturday, I have my 18 week app in the morning!

roarfeckingroar · 20/05/2020 23:15

@DressingGown87 me too! So it's pretty weird feeling so washed out even after consistent early nights. Good luck with your appointment.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 21/05/2020 09:03

Yes, the heat yesterday especially zonked me out. I went from a 34dd to a 34jj with my first baby and unfortunately they remained that size, praying they don't grow again!!

@roarfeckingroar that's exciting! My scan feels so far away

Freddie1987 · 21/05/2020 09:25

@roarfeckingroar ahhh so exciting about your scan! ☺️

@justtb I've started to experience it a bit, not loads but enough to annoy me when I'm trying to pick things up quickly or when I'm getting off the sofa quickly. I also had the pleasure of going for a walk last night and a little bit of wee coming out when I sneezed! Couldn't believe it, definitely thought my pelvic floor was better than that! 😂

Mc3209 · 21/05/2020 10:22

I am exhausted too. Really struggling through the day lately, and with workload getting heavier every day is a battle.

I m not finding the tiredness so bad, it's when I drop something, picking it up is so changing.

1990shopefulftm · 21/05/2020 11:01

Challenging I mean

roarfeckingroar · 21/05/2020 11:32

@Mc3209 my workload is pretty immense at the moment and we're trying to shuffle around some pieces to junior members of the team long term because it's unsustainable even if I wasn't off for a year in October. There's a recruitment freeze including temporary contractors, so we need to get buy in from senior team members who will potentially cover me before we then present the plan to the wider team and the directors as a fait accompli when we tell them I'm pregnant - so only my boss and two other people know so far and no one thinks twice of calling me at 7.30am/9pm/both for "just a quick ask" . I'm pretty knackered but I've received some really lovely praise recently that I wouldn't have had if it wasn't for so much exposure and it's come when I've been feeling low and anxious about my future, so swings and roundabouts. I'm the queen of sneaky power naps between meetings now!

@Freddie1987 when is yours? I'll be 19+6 on Sat and I've had it brought forward from the 29th just because I asked.

BS9790 · 21/05/2020 13:10

Had our private scan this morning, all looking good.

I'm adding to team boy 💙

1990shopefulftm · 21/05/2020 13:23

@BS9790 congratulations :)

Freddie1987 · 21/05/2020 13:30

@BS9790 ahhh congrats for your special news! ☺️

@roarfeckingroar not for another couple of weeks, I'm 18 weeks tomorrow. Sounds like you're doing so well with work, I don't know how you can keep up such a poker face for this long! 💪

Clalou83 · 21/05/2020 14:17

Good day to all.
Yesterday and today especially I have felt very emotional, anxious still not quite believing all this is true even though I've had my first scan.
I am 17 weeks today well that what the hospital measured the baby at I'm still think 16 week +2 days as that's with the two weeks added on.
My partner decided to book a private scan in for tomorrow just as reassurance really. Think I'm just alittle overcome with emotions and I think it's partly the waiting, partly that I had a miscarriage in October and I would be due anytime in the next few weeks, and I guess this situation / times we are in on top of I guess the usual worries, fears and concerns any pregnant lady gets.
I did yoga this morning and that helped me to clear alittle out. Always good to have a cry. Smile
Sorry for the vent hopefully tomorrow will give me some reassurance and make me feel better when I go to the second hospital scan more confident and not overwhelmed when being on my own and be able to take on board the information. The emotion can come out tomorrow with my partner there to hold my hand Smile

Has anyone managed to find a free app (or cheap) to add stickers to photos (e.g 16 weeks). All the ones I have found appear to be free and then you have to pay monthly subscriptions or extra to unlock different stickers 😡

Freddie1987 · 21/05/2020 15:00

@Clalou83 vent any time you need, it all sounds completely normal and especially given your situation. If you are coming up to a due date you will no doubt be unearthing some difficult emotions. Really good to let it out and have a cry, feel all you need to feel and hopefully come out of the scan tomorrow feeling refreshed and positive for the next chapter ☺️💛

@Sls668 not an app specifically for it but I was having a play on Insta Stories the other day and if you go to upload a photo then swipe up for the gifs and type in '18 weeks' for instance, lots of people and brands have made cute little stickers showing size of baby compared to fruit etc. If you don't want to upload to Insta Stories you can download the draft image to your camera roll and upload elsewhere 😊

Clalou83 · 21/05/2020 15:06

@Freddie1987 Aww thank you x x

WaveStreet · 21/05/2020 15:26

@BS9790 yay congrats on your boy 💙

SJR86 · 21/05/2020 16:26

@Clalou83 it's totally ok for you to feel like that and it's better to let it out then bottle it up. I'm still not feeling like it's real yet and I am 18+4!
I have had two losses previously and it's always difficult when it comes to what would have been due dates. I also am struggling to plan and research things as I'm worried about 'jinxing' things.
Hopefully things will seem all too real when we start to feel some movement!! X

Sls668 · 21/05/2020 16:43

@Freddie1987 that actually worked perfectly, thanks!

DressingGown87 · 21/05/2020 17:51

@Freddie1987 with you on the sneeze and pee! I’ve always had a weak pelvic floor, now it’s getting worse. You been doing the exercises?

@BS9790 aww congratulations on your little boy 💙

@Clalou83 good luck for your scan tomorrow. Don’t worry your not alone in how you feel. I’m 18+3 and even though I get monitored weekly, I still sit there every time with the midwife saying but it’s not real. As our daily routines have changed, we can’t go to shops, we aren’t seeing friends and family and talking about the pregnancy or changes to come, due the current situation, this is having an impact on the way we are processing the pregnancy, especially after previous losses. That’s what my peri-natal and midwife have told me. As the pregnancy progresses and more obvious changes to our body develop, this will hopefully ease. On the other hand, we can take it easy, prepare the house, and take a step back from the world, to enjoy these few months.

@SJR86 agree with the jinxing things, but then feel so unprepared and can’t commit to decisions.

@sls668 the insta trick is what I would suggest. Or if your iPhone, click edit photo and add the text.

I am struggling to stay asleep, keep asleep and wake up in the mornings.. and of course it's all happening the week I've gone back to work 😂😂
