@justtb I'm 16w 6d and every morning and most events I sit with my hands on my belly trying to feel any movement, but alas nothing yet. Really looking to our private scan tomorrow not so much to find out the gender but to have a reassurance that the little one is moving is wriggling as it should.
Also I have a little bump but still fit in my normal jeans so it looks more like I've put on a bit of weight rather than being pregnant!

Mc3209 · 17/05/2020 09:07

So, on my morning news trawl I came across this maternity wear company that everyone raves about (Hatch Collection), apparently can be worn before/during and after pregnancy and they have a 25% off sale. So of course I am there in a flash, and goodness me, the average price of a dress is around £250 🙄 What a disappointment. Beautiful stuff, yes. Would I pay that much money for a maternity dress even with 25% discount? No.

So that was my morning disappointment. How is everyone feeling this weekend?

I've started to feel movement on an evening. It's like clockwork. Between 8:15 and 8:45, baby has a little dance and goes back to sleep Smile. I'm 16+1, second baby.

DressingGown87 · 17/05/2020 09:50

@justtb it’s hard not to worry, and when you stop for a split second, you worry why you not worrying. I doubt every decision I make, if I do this, that, is something going to happen. Every pregnancy is different, and soon you will see a bump, feel a flutter, but in your own time. Our day to day routines have change, daily distractions are not there as much, work, social gatherings, frequent trips to the shop.

@Mc3209 gosh that is expensive. I wouldn’t want to be paying that for something that would only fit for a few months. I need to take all my size 8 clothes, vac bag them, and put them in the loft. In hope, one day they can come back down.

@sunbreak good luck with your scan tomorrow.

@monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt aww that’s cute! I was playing videos before from across the years, of various holidays, people, parties, and had movement.

DogCatDex · 17/05/2020 11:04

@sunbreak @justtb I have the same worries, I’m 16+5 and I can’t really tell between “bubbles” and wind at the moment. My bump is also pretty small, I just look a bit bloated haha!

You’ll feel much better after your scan. I had mine on Friday and she was wriggling around, at one point the sonagrapher said she’d kicked me and I felt nothing so I guess I’m just not sensitive enough to my womb yet!!

Strawberries4days · 17/05/2020 11:07

For the baby movement, I'm exactly the same with not sure what I'm expecting to feel. I felt something last Saturday that's like a sudden flip and the midwife said that's the baby moving. Heard the heartbeat at the appointment too so I'm not too worried if I don't feel anything as of yet. Maybe I'm expecting a huge football kick or something 😂

Is everyone else dying to get to the shops to try/see all the baby stuff? I'm putting off buying online as much as I can because it's the only chance to go into a baby store for cots, prams, etc that I've never done. Is that weird?🙈

Clalou83 · 17/05/2020 11:20

@Strawberries4days Certainley not weird. I've just had a quick flick on line but I'd love to walk in a shop see things for myself and also just see what catches the eye. When I was younger I'd always walk past the baby shops thinking aww one day I'll be able to buy for myself.

WaveStreet · 17/05/2020 11:25

@Strawberries4days i had the sudden flip in the middle of the night last week too. They're still quite small in lots of space and fluid to muffle all the feeling at the moment.

I totally get what you mean about shopping! I never really shop online much as i prefer shops and it'll be nice to finally venture into shops I've never seen been in much before. I bought my first item yesterday, a fleece suit from the white company as they have 20% off this weekend and i saw the blue version before i found out and loved it 💙

I'm passing time in lockdown by trying to research and shortlist some of the bigger items I'd like to look at.

Jaffas22 · 17/05/2020 12:06

Just had our scan, adding a little girl to the numbers 💗 so so happy!!

Flora20 · 17/05/2020 12:33

@justtb I'm not finding out either, I never realised how many people did! I like the surprise, doesn't make any difference to what they're doing to be dressed in or anything either. It would help with names though!

@Mc3209 That's crazy, who'd actually pay that amount!

1990shopefulftm · 17/05/2020 12:41

@Jaffa22 congratulations :)

@Mc3209 you could get a pram for that how much that dress costs :O
I've put almost all my pre-pregnancy clothes away in a box and got maternity clothes as cheap as I can, my hips seem to be changing shape already so i m not that confident i'd be getting back into size 8 skinny jeans for a long time if ever.

Feeling quite tired today, woke up a few times in the night and i m having to change positions quite a bit to get comfortable just sat down during the day.

WaveStreet · 17/05/2020 12:41

@Jaffas22 congrats on your girl ❤️

justtb · 17/05/2020 12:44

@Jaffas22 congratulations 💖💖

Thanks for all the reassurance guys. I'm so glad I have joined this thread, I honestly don't know what I'd do without it!

Freddie1987 · 17/05/2020 13:58

@Jaffas22 yeyyy another girl, congratulations!! 💕

DressingGown87 · 17/05/2020 15:23

@Jaffas22 aww congratulations on your little girl, glad your scan went well 💕

I not keen on this online shopping business either, can’t wait to go and test push, it that’s going to be only outing for 4 months 😂 and my only trip to a store!

Clalou83 · 17/05/2020 15:28

@Jaffas22 Yeah congratulations 🥳 x x

Strawberries4days · 17/05/2020 16:40

@WaveStreet @Clalou83 ahh good I'm glad I'm not the only one! 20% off is a pretty good deal!

@Jaffas22 congratulations 🥰

Chl00 · 17/05/2020 16:43

@Jaffas22 congratulations💕

Hey girls, what stretch mark creams would you recommend and how often would you advise using it? My bumps gunna pop out soon I think and my boobs look like they might already be beginning to get stretch marks 👀 x

Mc3209 · 17/05/2020 16:54

@Chl00 unfortunately stretch marks are genetic. With that being said, I am using Bio Oil on my boobs and bum, and Secret Saviours (creams and band) on my belly.

OP posts:
Chl00 · 17/05/2020 17:04

@Mc3209 thanks, I’ve heard that they are generic but my mum used creams in her pregnancies and didn’t get them, whereas my sister gets them very easily so I do think that creams can help x

Chl00 · 17/05/2020 17:04

*genetic

Mc3209 · 17/05/2020 17:29

@Chl00, I am so willing to try anything ☺️ So far so good with BioOil, and it's way too early to tell if Secret Saviours is working as I only got it few days ago.

OP posts:
Chl00 · 17/05/2020 17:32

@Mc3209 yeah I’ve heard good things about BioOil but never heard of the other one, when’s your due date? I’m due 30th I find out the gender in 4 weeks ☺️

Flora20 · 17/05/2020 17:32

I've been feeling little twitches and flutters for a few weeks on and off but this afternoon baby has obviously been having a little dance - lots of little kicks and wriggles 😍 So lovely to feel it for more than a couple of seconds at a time!
