@DogCatDex the fact the seat moves whole and you can’t collapse it easily put me off. I’m trying to find a good all terrain one and the Ocarro has got some great reviews, and comes with maxi cosi car seat and iso fix! Going to look at Uppababy. Booked another virtual appointment with another company.

WaveStreet · 15/05/2020 20:37

@DogCatDex congrats on your girl ❤️

I enquired on the NCT website, i meant the course thats around £200 which obviously DH thinks is unnecessary but I'm still thinking about it, or an alternative if not, I'd like to do something.

@DressingGown87 did you find your appointment useful? My friend has the ocarro and seems happy with it, it looks nice too. Have you looked at joolz? I can't even remember what i like about what now 😅 i need a spreadsheet.

DogCatDex · 15/05/2020 20:45

Oooh I’ll have a look at Ocarro. I’m basically looking for a pram that does everything and will eventually be able to expand for a second child (although DH keeps reminding me how poorly I was in the first trimester bless him)

Let me know what you guys go for in the end. The Uppababy seems to have everything I want - the main pushback is it’s a bit heavy

Sls668 · 15/05/2020 20:50

@DressingGown87 I‘ve still got my heart set on a bugaboo but want to test out first although I’ve used them before lots of times. I think, from what I remember from YouTube reviews, the chameleon 3 was much easier to get down than the fox

60sPony · 15/05/2020 21:06

@DressingGown87 We have a mountain buggy which is excellent for off-roading. We also have a Bugaboo Bee which is great for public transport/ city living but is terrible off road/ heavy up pavements etc..

DressingGown87 · 15/05/2020 22:36

@WaveStreet I thought that about the NCt course... £200.00 but then if there isn’t any running at the hospital etc, then I feel like I’ve got no other choice.

I did find the appointment useful and they answered all my questions and more, without me getting lost in the internet. Showed me how it works, and the features. Will have a look a joulz too.

@DogCatDex yes I want an all rounder, I don’t think you can add on to this one though. But I may be wrong.

@Sls668 I do like them, but it was them two things which have made me change my mind. I looked at the other bugaboo makes, but the Fox is the all terrain which is one of my main features. @60sPony would you be able to use a mountain buggy from birth? Or would this be a later addition?

I chose the maxi cosi next to me, as this fold downs compact, so I can take it to friends houses, and to my second home In the lakes easily, without loads of trouble.

60sPony · 16/05/2020 08:10

@DressingGown87 yes you can use them from birth - they sell an additional carrycot for newborn - think we have carrycot+. It’s an absolute workhorse - it’s done 100’s of miles of woodland walks, festivals, beach trips etc with us. It’s also light and folds up small so good for travelling/ airplanes etc

I did NCT with my first and would say it is absolutely invaluable in terms of making friends - I have two girls I met who I talk to daily still and our sons are the best of friends. Obviously hard to know if you could form the same sort of friendships online doing the course. In terms of the actual content about preparing for birth, it is useful but it really does push the natural birth agenda in my opinion- so depends if that’s for you or not. I know a few of the girls on my course who ended up with emergency sections felt a bit down after as NCT had almost ignored that as a potential option. So it depends if meeting local mums is high as a priority for you or not - if it’s not you could probably access the information cheaper elsewhere.

BS9790 · 16/05/2020 10:30

@DressingGown87, the icandy peach is supposed to be a good all terrain pram but I'm not sure if it folds with the seat on.

I've been looking at the abc salsa air, nuna mixx and uppababy vista. But the baby shop near us is hoping to open June 1st on an appointment only basis, you get an hour in the shop by yourself! With 30 min slots between for them to clean up. So providing they do open, we've got an appointment for the first weekend in June! So hopefully I can test drive some prams then Smile

DressingGown87 · 16/05/2020 10:37

@60sPony thank you will take a look. I think I want to speak to my consultant more before signing myself up to £200 course. Firstly it’s highly likely I would be c-section, and I can’t BF due to medication. So if they are focused mainly on these objectives it might not be worth my while.

@bs9790 I’ve just seen online that my local pram store is opening from the 3rd June, on appointment base, just like yours. So going to get a shortlist and make an appointment there to test push! Who knew this would be so much of a minefield 😂

WaveStreet · 16/05/2020 10:45

@60sPony thanks for your feedback, useful to hear from someone with experience

1990shopefulftm · 16/05/2020 11:23

The Birmingham baby show got cancelled so now there's a Facebook group online with a lot of offers on, I know many of you are waiting till later to get some bigger bits but they have offers for nappy bins and things, I ve just ordered a Ewan the dream sheep as it was on offer.

UpsyDaisy1234 · 16/05/2020 15:09

@1990shopefulftm Good buy! It's very soothing & comforting for my little niece and helps her calmly fall asleep. You are really on it with the shopping, must be really exciting😊.

1990shopefulftm · 16/05/2020 15:15

@UpsyDaisy1234 I d heard lots of good things about it so glad to hear it helps your niece :)
Having to hold off on the big things until the nursery is plastered and painted as there's nowhere to put them. I ve got a box of things I ve bought in the living room and there's not much space left in it.

Fingers crossed the nursery is painted next month and we'll hopefully know the gender to get them clothes.

1990shopefulftm · 16/05/2020 17:01

The limited travel system options that will fit in the boot don't have carrycot options or parent facing options, since I can't drive it's likely we would use the car seat attached to it maybe twice a week really. So lifting baby out of car seat into the pram wouldn't be so bad i would hope.

WaveStreet · 16/05/2020 17:15

Had my scan today...we are as expected team blue 💙💙💙

DressingGown87 · 16/05/2020 17:21

@1990shopefulftm I’ve got that sheep, meant to be really good. You sound on top of things. The pram store opens in two weeks, for booked appointments only, they may be able to help finding a suitable pram for your boot.

@wavestreet congratulations on your baby boy! Glad your scan went well 💙

1990shopefulftm · 16/05/2020 17:37

@WaveStreet congratulations :)

@DressingGown87 I m a bit nervous about going near shops for a while but an appointment could be comforting, I ll look into it :)

SamK93 · 16/05/2020 18:13

@WaveStreet Congratulations💙💙

Clalou83 · 16/05/2020 18:52

@WaveStreet Congratulations x x

60sPony · 16/05/2020 19:48

@WaveStreet lovely news! Congrats

DressingGown87 · 16/05/2020 21:06

@1990shopefulftm from what I understand it’s only one customer in the shop at a time, so I can take my own precautions. I really don’t want to commit to such a huge purchase online, considering I want to push something that will last a few years.

justtb · 16/05/2020 21:48

Congratulations to everyone finding out the sex of their babies 👶🏻👶🏻 am I the only one leaving it as a surprise?

Also, today I actually found myself googling 'I'm 16 weeks and don't feel pregnant anymore.' So relieved that sooo many other people feel the same. I keep focusing on the size of my bump.. suddenly expecting it to be massive think it's because it's not really changing from week to week. Hate that I keep worrying, I regret how I felt during my first trimester.. wish I just could've enjoyed it

WaveStreet · 16/05/2020 22:12

Thank you everyone 💙

@justtb it's so hard not to worry when we're not feeling/seeing much isn't it! Everyone is so different so it's hard not to compare! At this point chances are baby is wiggling around inside a lot of the time and we have no idea 😍

Freddie1987 · 16/05/2020 22:32

@WaveStreet ahhhh congratulations!!

@justtb totally normal, it's so hard not to compare to others and wonder if everything is ok. I often find a lot of the videos talking about week to week pregnancy a bit annoying because they do the whole 'and here's what some xx week bumps look like!' - and they all look massive so you start to panic then they try to back it up by saying something really lame like 'but don't worry if you're not like this yet'...

Clalou83 · 17/05/2020 07:17

@justtb I'm not finding out. 😃 I am tempted but I've always said I wouldn't.

I think in this situation we have a lot of time to think so constantly waiting for changes. I'm forever looking at my bump waiting for it to change too he he every time I pass the mirror. It's exciting especially when it's the first and from day to day we don't know what to expect and important to take it all in I guess as if we had a second I'm guessing your a hell of a lot busier and preoccupied with the other children.
