@Flora20 Also not finding out, at the private I might be tempted possibly let partner decide. I've always said I'd just wait for the surprise, but these times just make me think what the hell. Just see how we feel on the day I guess. Just want to know all is well and healthy.

1990shopefulftm · 12/05/2020 21:22

Ordered the bedside crib tonight, our bed is only about 45cm tall but found one with 5 height settings for £90 :)

Clalou83 · 12/05/2020 21:33

@1990shopefulftm sounds good, I had a quick look the other day - not a bad price that.

DressingGown87 · 12/05/2020 21:37

@1990shopefulftm that’s good which did you go for? Yea they should start going the measuring appointments in person.

@SamK93 @Clalou83 sorry to hear your suffering too with the blocked nose. I just want to feel normal again.

@Flora20 aww that’s so Cute that you’ll get a surprise at the end, which I had that patience.

Sls668 · 12/05/2020 22:16

I think I’ve just felt my first little wriggle inside!

60sPony · 12/05/2020 22:24

@Flora20 we will go for a surprise too! Loved finding out on the day when my son was born.

SamK93 · 12/05/2020 23:04

@Sls668 yayyy for you! How many weeks are you?

Clalou83 · 13/05/2020 05:50

@Sls668 That's ace congrats x
@1990shopefulftm I just looked at the crib I've saved that, can't wait to start buying we are waiting till after the scan.

Sls668 · 13/05/2020 11:58

@SamK93 I’m 16 weeks on Friday (I think we’re due on the same day?) I barely have any bump at all though, in the morning I’m probably as slim as I was pre-pregnancy!

SamK93 · 13/05/2020 12:35

@Sls668 oh yes we're due on the same day aren't we, when's your 20 week scan booked for? I felt my first proper wriggle the day before too, stops you for a second doesn't it. You'll have a bump before you know it don't worry, is it your first?

BS9790 · 13/05/2020 12:42

Is there anyone else who still hasn't felt any movement and has no bump at all?

Starting to feel like I'm the only one on here that hasn't!

Clalou83 · 13/05/2020 12:47

@BS9790 I'm not quite 16 weeks, I have a bump but I'd say it's more bloat I can feel alittle firmness Lower down. Definatley not flutters for me. It's also my first so don't expect them for a while.

SamK93 · 13/05/2020 12:48

@BS9790 don't worry, every pregnancy and every person is different. I didn't have a bump at all with my second until I was 19/20 weeks, didn't feel movements with my first until around 22 weeks. Everyone's different it's perfectly normal x

Sls668 · 13/05/2020 13:58

@SamK93 my 20 week scan is 12th June, it’s the day before my birthday so fall really nicely and I think I’ll bang on 20 weeks! Yes it is my first

@BS9790 I have barely any bump at all, even if close friends saw me in a bikini and didn’t know I don’t think they would suspect anything! I think I had my first little flutter last night but, to be fair, it could have been anything!

SamK93 · 13/05/2020 14:18

@Sls668 mines on the 18th June, be nearly 21 weeks then. Will you find out the gender or do you already know? It's your first so don't worry at all about not showing yet honestly

60sPony · 13/05/2020 14:25

For my first I didn’t show at all until 20 weeks so don’t worry... my husband can’t believe I’ve got a little bump already this time

Sls668 · 13/05/2020 15:13

@SamK93 I definitely want to find out but it’s just working out what we’ll do if partners still aren’t allowed at scans by then as I don’t really want to find out without him! Are you finding out?

SamK93 · 13/05/2020 15:23

@Sls668 same as you, definitely want to find out. They may have relaxed rules by then but seems unlikely so we were considering waiting until then and if he's not allowed maybe look into booking a private scan so he can be there too. I know some partners feel a little left out and like to be a part of it, seeing your baby healthy on the screen is an amazing feeling. If you don't want to book a private scan, just see if your sonographer could write it down for you and maybe get someone to reveal it to you... with safe social distancing of course lol. I've seen people do it over FaceTime etc. My cousin gave her sonographer her sisters email address and she emailed the gender to her and they did a gender reveal.

Sls668 · 13/05/2020 16:08

@SamK93 that’s my plan, we’ll either go private or ask the sonographer to write it down. I really enjoyed having just me and him know about the pregnancy for so long, I do plan to tell everyone the gender but think I might keep it just between us for a few days or so just to saviour our own little secret again

Freddie1987 · 13/05/2020 16:19

@BS9790 don't worry, I feel pretty similar, it's only this week that I feel like my belly has started to round out and stick out a bit!

I had my 16 week midwife call this morning, was a different midwife covering at my doctors clinic. She was nice but was very wary about home births which has annoyed me a little bit. My first midwife was very encouraging! I guess we'll have to see what the situation is with the virus by October...any other FTM's considering attempting home birth? I'm completely fine with being transferred if I feel like I can't cope or there's any concerns but it seems a bit silly for midwife to write it off straight away, without knowing me or my situation.

justtb · 13/05/2020 17:21

@Freddie1987 do you know whether your hospital has a low risk unit? There is one at mine and I think it's meant to be really chilled out and amazing, perhaps that might be a good route for you if home birth isn't an option.. I've always wanted a home birth I'm also worried about the whole thing. The low risk ward at my hospital is actually being used for covid patients right now (probably not same for all hospitals).. I really hope that will change before October!

I can't help but be a bit irritated that I'm finding most information out about what's happening at my local hospitals with births etc isn't actually coming from medication professionals

justtb · 13/05/2020 17:25

@bs9790, don't worry I haven't felt any movement yet either. And I'm sure my tiny bump is actually just bloat 😂 so us first timers are all in the same boat! I know it can be a bit hard seeing everyone else having feelings and bumps but we are all different

roarfeckingroar · 13/05/2020 19:00

@BS9790 @justtb I'm 18+3 today and definitely have a bump but I haven't felt movement and it's worrying me - also FTM.

justtb · 13/05/2020 19:43

@roarfeckingroar I'm sure everything is absolutely fine! We just worry, don't we? My mum said she never felt me move at all, all the way through and I'm absolutely fine (kind of 😉)
