@parks11 Congrats!

@roarfeckingroar You're so organised! Don't worry about not feeling anything yet, I was at least 20 weeks before I started feeling anything at all with my first. I did have an anterior placenta which can make it even harder to notice but it's really common!

1990shopefulftm · 12/05/2020 09:57

@DressingGown87 it was just 10 minutes last night so I thought could this be it but I really wasn't sure. Yes I think I ve got a lazy baby so far :p
I m not sure when I ll see a midwife to use the Doppler, no idea when after 20 weeks the appointments are then in person as I believe I m not having a 16 week one, I haven't pushed them for one as since it's phone only and I have no concerns I don't want to use their time needlessly.

sunbreak · 12/05/2020 10:36

@DressingGown87 that's quite reassuring to know. I'm 16 weeks today and haven't felt anything yet (I think I do and then it turns out to be wind ) I was looking through my letter from my 12 week scan and it said that my placenta is anterior so I'm not sure when I'll be able to feel the little spud moving.
I'm looking forward to my private scan on Monday as all of my symptoms have now gone so even if we don't find out the gender it'll be a great reassurance to see the little one moving 🥰❤️

@parks11 congratulations on your girl!!!

@roarfeckingroar I haven't started looking at cribs although my friend throughly recommended the next2me so I'll be looking at that one. Do you have a link of the one you got? Our bed is quite high so I guess we'll have to bear this in mind when choosing one.

Lolllyf · 12/05/2020 11:06

I am just over 16 weeks and started feeling flutters and sort of bubble feeling for the past few days. Especially when lying down in bed!

1990shopefulftm · 12/05/2020 11:10

@Lolllyf yes I had it last night when I was lying in bed. I just had no idea what to expect.

justtb · 12/05/2020 11:21

@roarfeckingroar I go from wanting to eat absolutely everything to nothing at all! I want a Starbucks coffee so bad 😂

I'm not having any flutters yet.. still paranoid something is wrong 😞 just want to be able to enjoy this pregnancy now I'm out of first trimester

1990shopefulftm · 12/05/2020 11:25

@justtb I had to stop drinking normal coffee before I got pregnant but Starbucks decaf is the best of all the coffee shops I think. You could get their coffee powder online?

DogCatDex · 12/05/2020 11:38

I’m 16 weeks today and also not feeling flutters. Also my bump is still super small and I’m just looking a bit bloated.

Hopefully my private scan on Friday will reassure me everything is ok!

WaveStreet · 12/05/2020 11:52

@justtb starbucks are starting to reopen on Thursday aren't they?

I haven't felt much yet except the middle of the night, night before last, i woke up to a big feeling of my stomach flipping over, i don't know if it was baby though. My notes say i have a posterior placenta but I'll be 16 weeks on Thursday so it's early still.

@dogcatdex it'll be nice to have the reassurance of a scan. Has anyone else got private scans coming up? Mines on Saturday.

Lolllyf · 12/05/2020 11:55

@justtb I think 16 weeks is very early still so I wouldn’t worry!

I drink one normal coffee per day (Nespresso) and sometimes a second one or a decaf. I don’t drink caffeinated tea or coke. Most of Nespresso capsules are about 70mg caffeine.

Starbucks looks like they are opening soon!
I find if I have decaf and have it on ice it tastes better.

justtb · 12/05/2020 14:15

I've completely gone off coffee which is sad because I would drive one cup every morning.. used to have a packet of mini breadsticks from Tesco every night too but this has been replaced with fruit salad!

I've just thrown up my breakfast.. really went off eating after getting up.. think I'll go back to that now 😞 will this ever end? Haha

Glooorb · 12/05/2020 14:41

I had my private scan at 16 weeks today! The baby is growing well and healthy. I am so so pleased and so relieved!

I was quite worried in the run up to the scan since I'm not feeling any movement and I've low Papp-a levels so worried that the baby might not be growing well. My bump isn't big either. But everything is ok yay!

No idea about the sex of the baby since it wasn't in the right position but that's absolutely fine for me not to know at this point!

Lolllyf · 12/05/2020 14:44

@justtb going off coffee is sad! I went off it for a few weeks earlier on.

Been craving anything sour, sour sweets, passion fruit, oranges!

Jaffas22 · 12/05/2020 16:51

@WaveStreet good luck for Saturday 🙂 are you hoping to find out the gender? ... I have one booked on Sunday! Mainly for reassurance as Iv had no symptoms for some time and for DP to be able to come .. hoping we get to find out the sex as I’m getting so impatient!!

SamK93 · 12/05/2020 17:14

@Glooorb brilliant news I'm glad everything is okay and baby is healthy! It's just a nice relief isn't it knowing everything is well.

I'll be 16 weeks Friday, a lot of you are having private scans I think I'm the only one waiting for my 20 week one which isn't until June 18th and I'll actually nearly be 21 weeks then, seems a life time away! Is it worth it ladies? I'm really considering it now, especially because partners aren't allowed to come in to the hospital scans.

1990shopefulftm · 12/05/2020 17:19

@SamK93 I m waiting for the 20 week one, thought if they can't see the gender at the NHS scan them I ll book private afterwards or I ll book a private 3d scan if they re available so we get to see baby later on in the pregnancy.

SamK93 · 12/05/2020 17:25

@1990shopefulftm that's exactly what my husband said to me, he said just wait for your 20 week scan, you never know by then they may allow partners and if not then we will book one after it, which seems reasonable enough and then find out the gender there.

1990shopefulftm · 12/05/2020 17:30

@SamK93 my husband is happy for me to find out the gender if they re able to see it at the 20 week scan, he's come to terms with knowing he's probably not able to come and I ll tell him afterwards. I ll only know for a few minutes longer than he will.

WaveStreet · 12/05/2020 17:31

@Glooorb glad your scan went well, its so lovely seeing them isnt it? Did you go alone?

@Jaffas22 thanks, you too. I would LOVE to find out the sex, i keep switching between thinking its a girl and a boy so i just want to not wonder anymore! Same as you though, DH wants to see baby and its always nice to have the reassurance of a scan.

@SamK93 i was going to say i don't think you're the only one waiting, and like you say there's always a chance they might relax the rules before mid June.

roarfeckingroar · 12/05/2020 18:08

@DressingGown87 I think the measurements are online. My bed is very high up and it's almost tall enough - there are six settings. Re feeling movements - I'm almost certain most things I feel these days are gas 😁.

@Flora20 thank you, that's reassuring. I'm organised because I'm impatient!

@sunbreak www.tuttibambini.co.uk/default/cozee-bedside-crib.html here's the one I bought; it's quite high up on the highest setting.

@justtb yes! An iced coffee ideally. That would be amazing (although I've boycott Starbucks). Sorry you were sick - do you feel better now?

I ate half of an entire Victoria sponge with two cups of Lapsang Souchong tea this afternoon and I feel zero shame.

Flora20 · 12/05/2020 18:16

@SamK93 I'm not having any other scans, just the 20 week one, but I'm also not finding out the sex which really puts me in the minority I think! The 20 week one is fascinating, they're so thorough in looking at every little detail so you even see inside the chambers of their heart - I thought it was pretty cool last time!

@roarfeckingroar I've not had lapsang Souchong in months, I really really need some now! Might have to do a fancy tea order 🙈

DressingGown87 · 12/05/2020 18:48

@1990shopefulftm I am sure we will get use to the movements / wind, and be able to tell the difference. I think the appointment after that is 24/25 weeks which should hopefully be in person, as they start the growth charts.

@sunbreak Yes they said with a (front) placenta your feeling of movements can be restricted, because the placenta is in the way. I don't think we are meant to feel anything properly for a couple of weeks yet.

@Glooorb Aww congratulations, glad everything went well! Little monkey playing games, keeping you guessing!

I would love a starbucks right now. I've slept most of the day, I feel so rough! Rang the doctors and they think I might have sinusitis, which I am prone to, cant keep my eyes open though, so struggling. Told me to rest for a week, sleep lots, and hope its not anything sinister.

@roarfeckingroar I've actually been dreaming of Victoria Sponge with butter cream! Thanks I will have a look online. Its 710mm from the floor to the top of my mattress! It was a good detterant when the step kids lived with me, as they couldn't climb in!

Clalou83 · 12/05/2020 19:06

@Flora20 I'm doing the same waiting for my 20 week scan. Although it is killing me waiting 4 more week to go. Going to book a private one after that so partner can see baby.

Just trying to hold out and be positive as not really getting many symptoms at the mo. I have got cold, keep getting nose sores.

I've also been having decaf tea and coffee. My partner has bought iced coffee and I've been jealous so a decaf one would be lovely.

1990shopefulftm · 12/05/2020 19:07

@DressingGown87, I hope the 24 weeks appointment is in person unless they make it video calls to show you how to measure your own bump, I don't think there's a way they can justify canceling it.

SamK93 · 12/05/2020 19:16

@flora20 the 20 week one is incredible isn't it, all the small details it is definitely worth the wait. I didn't find out my gender with first, did with second and now I just really want to know with my third! You are amazing not finding out.

@Clalou83 I'm doing the exact same as you regarding the scan, I'm waiting just over 5 for mine. I've had a horrible blocked nose for about 5/6 weeks now terrible at night to get to sleep.
