Replying to everyone in a new thread as the old one is full! Also tagging @Lemonysherbet @ELW85 @MrsH497 @LokiCat @larrydavid - so sorry if I’m forgetting anyone!

@MrsR16 It’s so weird, I was thinking back to getting my BFP for the twins the other day - some days it feels like yesterday but others it feels like a lifetime ago! I bet now Ethans here the pregnancy also feels like a distant memory!!

@TrashKitten10 Ah thanks lovely - wow a 9 pounder!! Well done you! I will definitely let everyone know as soon as I can once the twins are here :)

@PippaPug Thanks lovely! How are you feeling at the moment? Funnily enough they don’t do the steroid injections at my hospital if you’re going to deliver post 37 weeks so I’ve managed to swerve that one - how have you found them? Hurray for big babies - looks like we’re both going to have some chunky twins on our hands!! Do you find you are constantly congratulated at hospital for keeping them in so long/growing them so big?! I get it every time!

@Fivebyfive2 Joe is adorable! How was your first night away?

@thumper59 12 weeks! He is so so cute and I LOVE the matching jackets haha!

@purplefig Ugh the first lie in didn’t go to plan, I woke at 3 and couldn’t drift off again until 6... so glad it isn’t just us wobbling on names at the midnight hour! Yep ours will be Irish names - narrowing it right down and making it even harder for ourselves!! Hope you enjoyed your last yoga class!

Had a scare this morning; after a shocking night trying to sleep I woke quite late (well, around 9) - twin 2 dancing the jig as always but couldn’t feel twin 1 at all. I tried absolutely everything, I must have had a full litre of orange juice, chocolate, prodding at his side of my belly and I just got nothing. I called DH at 11 and just broke down, and we were soon off to triage. I literally cried all the way there! We had a CTG and as much as she struggled to find twin 1, he’s there and heart is pounding away. She told me he’s very low now, and position wise twin 2 is actually almost sitting on top of him so masking some of the stronger movements. The little swines! I’m so relieved, but it was horrible - I was terrified. Tracking twin movements is such a minefield!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

Hey all,

@ELW85 Finn is adorable! How are you finding being a mum?

@MrsH497 that's exciting about finishing work, bet you can't wait!

@PippaPug oh I bet he's loving it. Nice to get time in with them whilst they're young and I bet it's helpful having an extra pair of hands with twins! How are you?

@Larrydavid gtt came back all clear again, they've kept my induction date though so he doesn't get too big. How are you feeling about the c section? And in general? I'm glad the midwife sorted the extra scan for you. I finished the pbc pack, it's made me calm down a lot and feel really prepared which is good. I've half packed my hospital bag too so it all feels much more real!

@LokiCat how are you getting on?

I felt really poorly yesterday. Had the shivers and aches, back ache. Slept for a longgggg time as I just didn't know what else to do. Had the midwife this morning and she's asked me to keep an eye on how I feel. My bump is so tender too. He's currently back to back and I can definitely feel it! She mentioned the word Corona but I haven't been anywhere to catch it so I've ignored that idea 🤣

MrsEG · 29/04/2020 11:46

Hi guys!
I’m so behind on the thread but just popping on to see how everyone is doing, who is due soon? Is everything okay with your birth plans etc with COVID going on? I hope everyone is going okay xx

Thanks for the lovely comments guys!
I won’t lie, it’s HARD work especially with the lockdown; you’re kind of in a motherhood vacuum so there’s a lot of pressure but it’s obviously worth it.
And the worries don’t stop once they’re here, so make sure you talk to your support network.
You’ll all smash it though!!

LokiCat · 01/05/2020 10:38

Hi ladies!

So sorry I've been AWOL. We had our little baby girl, Alayna, at 18:47 Friday 24th April, weighing a healthy 8lb 3oz! 🥰🥰

I had a pretty traumatic delivery after a long 20 hours of labour, so I was in hospital until Wednesday (both Alayna and I were on an antibiotics course). I can share my birth story if anyone wants, but completely understand if not as I don't want to put anyone off!
Regardless of how the delivery went, I had the most positive experience with all the midwives and doctors I dealt with. They kept me calm throughout the whole thing, along with DH, who was just absolutely brilliant. Apart from the masks everyone was wearing, there was no way to tell I was going through this during COVID. It was a really relaxed environment, even whilst I was on the postnatal ward.

Trying to settle into a routine at home now. Little miss loves sleeping during the day but is wide awake and alert at night so really hoping to swap that over soon! I also love seeing the way DH interacts with her, especially not being able to see either of us for 6 days after she was born. I think it's fair to say we're both pretty obsessed with her 🥰

Hope you're all doing well, sorry I haven't been able to catch up on the thread but excited to see the next arrivals!! 💕

ELW85 · 01/05/2020 10:48

@LokiCat - congratulations!! So, so pleased for you! I can totally sympathise with the traumatic birth, so feel free to PM me if you want to chat!
So pleased you’re back home now and settling in. Brace yourself for just a whirl of sleepless getting accustomed to your new life; exhausting but totally worth it! Xx

Lemonysherbet · 01/05/2020 11:30

Huge congratulations @LokiCat so happy for you! I wouldn't mind hearing your birth story, I've read so many I don't think anything can scare me now!

Glad you're home and well :) sending all the love

Larrydavid · 04/05/2020 15:56

Hello! Hope you're all doing well?
I'm back in hospital again. More bleeding and contractions this time but hoping it's all calmed down and I hopefully can go home tomorrow! Trying hard to get to 36/37 weeks! I had a growth scan today and the baby is growing well which is promising.

@LokiCat biggest congratulations to you!! How are you finding parenting? Sorry you didn't have an easy labour - well done on getting through it. 💛

@Lemonysherbet how are you feeling? Hopefully corona-free and the aches have calmed down? My aches at night have gotten quite sore - but then I wake up in the morning reset - then it starts again! Hope you're doing ok. I'm feeling ok about the c section - but the consultant today said it will be almost impossible to have a natural birth due to my placenta position. I think I'm fine with any situation as long as I can get my head around it first.

@MrsEG How are the twins doing? I might message you about your c section - it would be nice to hear a positive story! I hope you're doing well and have found a good routine with the boys!

@ELW85 hope things are going really well for you! I can't believe how much time has passed already since Finn was born! I'm sure you're completely nailing motherhood - even if it's hard! 💪🏼

@FlapJackered how are you getting on?

MrsEG · 04/05/2020 17:37

@Larrydavid Please feel free! I enjoyed my birth so much. Oh you’ve had such a rough time of it - I really hope baby stays put for you for another few weeks!!

Oh I missed the notification on this thread, oops!

@Larrydavid how are you doing now? Are you back out of hospital again? I'm feeling much much better thanks. Must have been a weird bug. I had an upset stomach for 5 days too which has thankfully reverted back to the pregnancy constipation once again. Who knew I preferred being constipated 🤣 glad you're getting your head around the c section. I think having time to just mull it over helps me to much. I like to mentally overthink everything so that's probably why!

@LokiCat how are you doing? And Alayna?

@flapjackered how are you getting on?

@MrsH497 how are you doing? Not long to go!

Think it's just 4 of us left in here still preggo! Ill miss this group when they're all here!

cupcakesandglitter · 10/05/2020 16:45

Hi ladies, I'm absolutely pants with Mumsnet atm but I thought I'd check in to see how you're all doing?!

Huge congrats @LokiCat Alayna is such a beautiful name!! How're you doing?!

@Larrydavid sorry to hear you're in again, but I'm glad little one is growing nicely - how far gone are you now? X

Who's due next? 😁

MrsH497 · 10/05/2020 18:27

Didn't get any notifications on the thread!
Huge congratulations @LokiCat!! Glad you're both doing ok.

@Lemonysherbet well 39 weeks tomorrow (how is that possible?!) baby is back to being breech so booked in for an ECV Tuesday and bricking it. I'd stupidly had it in my head I'd have a lovely water birth and now they are mentioning c sections to me. Started maternity leave a week ago so just been chilling out - not that there's anything else to do!

How is everyone else doing? Can't actually believe I will have a baby soon. I'm going to miss my bump is that weird?! Oh and already going back on my "never having anymore" and saying to DH let's have another 😂

Larrydavid · 10/05/2020 18:33

Hey! I had a fairly uneventful week but was back in hospital today for more bleeding. This is the fifth antepartum haemorrhage - but today was not as serious so I was monitored for a bit, given an injection and sent home! I have my appointment with a consultant on Wednesday- I've had to really fight for appointments which is a bit exhausting actually given how often I've been in hospital - and because I have a diagnosed placenta previa - a little surprised I've not got a c section date booked yet. I really do understand how stretched the NHS are (and I love the nhs) but I feel like I've had to research far too much of my situation myself because I've not been able to ask questions to a consultant. I'm 35 weeks today. Hopefully I can stay pregnant for another week at least!

@Lemonysherbet hope you've gotten over the bug! When is your due date? Is it the beginning of June? Have you done any NCT classes? We missed our first one but had one last week - it was actually ok over zoom!

@cupcakesandglitter Hope you're doing well?! I'm 35 weeks now. Not long to go - could be any day but fingers crossed I can get to 37 weeks!

@MrsEG I'll try to work out how to send a private message this week! Hope you and the boys are well 💛

FlapJackered · 11/05/2020 07:14

Sorry I have been awol, headaches have still been a bit rubbish so have been trying to stay away from screens when possible. 😩

@Larrydavid I am so sorry you're having such a rough time of it and its just not on that the NHS are not giving you the support you need. I know it's not an easy time for them but they can't drop everything for Corona, maternity care is so so important. ❤️ Good luck on Wednesday. I would mention the trouble you have had to the consultant, hopefully they will make sure you get the extra support.
It must be such a worrying time, it sounds like you're doing an amazing job at keeping sane though and a level head. I hope you get some answers on Wednesday and a reassuring plan of action. x

@MrsH497 I can't believe you're so close now! That has gone so quickly!
Is it possible the baby will get in the right position still at this point?

@Lemonysherbet I can't believe there are only 4 of us left, soon to be just me! 😂
How are you feeling? How many weeks are you now?
I am 18+5, so almost at the halfway point! All is going well expect for horrible headaches, from my research it seems most people get over the headaches by 25 weeks latest so just got to hold on! 😬

MrsH497 · 11/05/2020 20:32

@FlapJackered possibly might do according to good old google! I've been trying to encourage it so I don't have to have the ecv tomorrow. Not going to lie I'm not looking forward to having it done. How often are your headaches you poor thing?

@Larrydavid really isn't good you've not had the support. Everyone gets the whole covid situation but there are other areas of medicine that need attention and you clearly need support at a worrying time. Sending hugs
X

Larrydavid · 12/05/2020 13:26

@MrsH497 Thank you. And good luck with your ecv today! Let us k ow how you get on.

@FlapJackered - I was suffering from headaches terribly and then they stopped and they haven't come back - fingers crossed yours will stop soon! They're miserable! You're nearly halfway now though. Thanks for your kind words.

I asked for a callback from a consultant yesterday so I could chat through some of my concerns and initially they said no - then my partner took the phone and pleaded with them to be a bit more helpful and they did call. They've booked a c section in but not til 38 weeks (there were none available on week 37 when she wanted to book me 🙄) so it's still quite likely I will end up in an emergency c section. None of it is ideal but I'm trying to keep calm about the situation- I have a scan tomorrow and a list of questions! Fingers crossed I get a bit more reassurance x

thumper59 · 13/05/2020 10:48

Morning ladies!! Haven't been on here in sooo long. Hope your all well, so many babies due soon!! Please share pics when they're here, I kiss little newborn babies!

thumper59 · 13/05/2020 10:48

Miss, not kiss!

FlapJackered · 14/05/2020 07:23

@Larrydavid sorry to hear you're still having to fight for a good treatment plan. Not what you want, but well done for persevering and getting the c-section booked in, even if the timing isn't ideal, how did the scan go?
When did the headaches stop for you? I am 19 weeks and they are still going strong at the moment. 🙁

@MrsH497 how did the ECV go? I hope they managed to turn him/her?
Headaches are pretty constant but some days are worse than others. I am trying to remind myself some people have it much worse in pregnancy but it does feel slightly like a form of torture at the moment! 😩
I just feel a bit cheated out of the easy 2nd trimester! 😂

Hi @thumper59 how are you getting on? 😁X

thumper59 · 14/05/2020 07:35

We are fabulous thanks @FlapJackered how are you? Freddie is 6 months old now and currently laid in bed pulling my hair and blowing raspberry's!

MrsH497 · 14/05/2020 08:30

It didn't work got booked in for a c section yesterday and Charlotte Annabelle Lily arrived at 13:21 weighing 7lb 4oz. I'm besotted with her x

Lemonysherbet · 14/05/2020 09:52

@MrsH497 huge congratulations to you she's adorable! How are you doing?

@Larrydavid how are you getting on with getting support? Sounds like you've not been treated too well but I'm glad you're fighting for what you need! I'm due end of may, so could be any time now. I'm so excited to meet him. I did a local antenatal class, but we only did 3 in person pre the c word arriving so I did the positive birth company digital pack. It's made me excited for birth whereas I didn't realise quite how petrified I was before! Oh that's good that you can do it over zoom. I think it's so handy for making mum friends too. Support each other through the late nights!

@FlapJackered wow I can't believe you're nearly halfway, how exciting! Sorry to hear about the headaches, hopefully they sod off soon! I was lucky and avoided them but had sickness until 25 ISH weeks and it's making a reappearance now I'm nearing the end!

@thumper59 lovely to hear from you, I can't believe Freddie is 6 months old, that's gone so fast!

@Jessikka not sure if you're still around on this group, have you had your baby yet?

Sorry if I've missed anyone! Hope you're all doing ok :)

Lemonysherbet · 14/05/2020 10:06

Oh and @LokiCat how are you getting on? How's Alayna? Xx

Jessikka · 14/05/2020 10:29

Hi @Lemonysherbet yes - baby girl arrived 19/4
My app wouldn't let me find the group to update!

I had a really straightforward natural labour - text book really! I was the only person in the birthing centre due to covid and I got to use the pool as I had wanted! Baby H is nearly a month old now and she's absolutely beautiful.

We actually forgot to find our rhe gender! oops! Midwife placed her on my chest and I was so overwhelmed with love, as was Dad that after 5minutes of cooing over her midwife reminded us we didn't know what gender the baby was haha! Was a surprise on top of a surprise to see a baby girl as we thought she was a boy x

MrsH497 · 14/05/2020 10:41

@Lemonysherbet I'm doing ok, bit sore and very tired!! Just ecstatic she's here safely

Lemonysherbet · 14/05/2020 12:08

Oh yay congratulations @Jessikka what a lovely thing to hear. How are you doing now? Have your family managed to meet her at all. Welcome back to the group 🥰

@MrsH497 oh I bet it's exhausting but so worth it. Are you still in the hospital?
