Replying to everyone in a new thread as the old one is full! Also tagging @Lemonysherbet @ELW85 @MrsH497 @LokiCat @larrydavid - so sorry if I’m forgetting anyone!

@MrsR16 It’s so weird, I was thinking back to getting my BFP for the twins the other day - some days it feels like yesterday but others it feels like a lifetime ago! I bet now Ethans here the pregnancy also feels like a distant memory!!

@TrashKitten10 Ah thanks lovely - wow a 9 pounder!! Well done you! I will definitely let everyone know as soon as I can once the twins are here :)

@PippaPug Thanks lovely! How are you feeling at the moment? Funnily enough they don’t do the steroid injections at my hospital if you’re going to deliver post 37 weeks so I’ve managed to swerve that one - how have you found them? Hurray for big babies - looks like we’re both going to have some chunky twins on our hands!! Do you find you are constantly congratulated at hospital for keeping them in so long/growing them so big?! I get it every time!

@Fivebyfive2 Joe is adorable! How was your first night away?

@thumper59 12 weeks! He is so so cute and I LOVE the matching jackets haha!

@purplefig Ugh the first lie in didn’t go to plan, I woke at 3 and couldn’t drift off again until 6... so glad it isn’t just us wobbling on names at the midnight hour! Yep ours will be Irish names - narrowing it right down and making it even harder for ourselves!! Hope you enjoyed your last yoga class!

Had a scare this morning; after a shocking night trying to sleep I woke quite late (well, around 9) - twin 2 dancing the jig as always but couldn’t feel twin 1 at all. I tried absolutely everything, I must have had a full litre of orange juice, chocolate, prodding at his side of my belly and I just got nothing. I called DH at 11 and just broke down, and we were soon off to triage. I literally cried all the way there! We had a CTG and as much as she struggled to find twin 1, he’s there and heart is pounding away. She told me he’s very low now, and position wise twin 2 is actually almost sitting on top of him so masking some of the stronger movements. The little swines! I’m so relieved, but it was horrible - I was terrified. Tracking twin movements is such a minefield!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

@MrsEG - aaaaaaarrrrgh!! I’m so excited for you. As I’m typing this you’re probably getting ready to or have met your boys!!
You’ve totally got this, and sending lots of love and god thoughts your way 😊

@Lemonysherbet - travel isn’t great, but I’ve decided to chat to my midwife about it and see what she says!

@LokiCat - I’ll be taking the train (don’t know if that’s better or worse?) and probably meeting DH at a hospital in Glasgow if it all kicks off 🤣

@purplefig - I’ll be a couple of days off 39 weeks when I go off, and I’m regretting that already!! Part of me could go off now to be honest.
As long as I get this trip at the end of Feb out of the way, my handover pack and a Framework written, I’ll be happy!

Have a wonderful Monday all!

@MrsH497 haha yes, checked a few times when I've had a quick minute!!

@MrsR16 oh that's so good to know. Haha I love that 'you're the only one that knows what's best for your baby without knowing it' 😂
I can't wait for the instinct to kick in!

@ELW85 haha oh bless you, hopefully all will be fine. Not to long to go, then you can finally be free from work!!

@LikeTheFruit good luck for your interview lovely! X

@LokiCat it certainly won't feel like the instinct has kicked in, but I think that's due to the tiredness/hormones/everything else! When you get there, just remember that you know best 😊 and sometimes baby just wants a cuddle!

Got my 25 week midwife appointment Friday and finally get my matb1 form so I can apply for maternity leave and DH can apply for paternity leave. X

Hi all, nothing yet! Had a really uneventful night so spoke to the doctors this morning and we’re sticking with my planned time/section tomorrow rather than squeezing me in today - I’m still in hospital so they can monitor me but the tightenings are only really mild cramps, nothing has massively amped up and waters haven’t broken etc. So all being well they’ll stay cosy today and then straight out tomorrow morning!
FYI - Ward beds are so uncomfortable - if you think you might have a bit of a stay, take some extra pillows with you!!
Will update you all tomorrow :)

@MrsEG ahhh that's annoying in one way, but nice in another to stick to original date and plan. Hope you've got extra pillows tonight and can get comfy. That's one of my main reasons for wanting to avoid an induction...avoid ward beds!! Tomorrow will be here before you know it and you'll finally get to meet them. All the best for it - I'm so bloody excited for you!!

@LokiCat thank you! Oh man I feel ya, any exercise is a mammoth effort now. Walked to our nearest pet shop with the dog today and he slowed down to my embarrassing pace despite his excitement, it was very cute 💕

@ELW85 the upside is you'll get more time at the other of maternity leave though! And hopefully they'll go easy on you given you'll have a small pumpkin chilling in your womb then!!

I reaaaaally don't want to fall into the trap if whinging, but corrrrr blimey I'm feeling it today 😅 had a nap earlier and dreamt my waters had broke...was very gutted when I woke up 😂 x

Morning all 😊 29 weeks today 😁

@MrsR16 cuddles are what I'm definitely looked forward to 😁

@MrsEG ah I hope you managed to have a comfortable night lovely. Lots of luck for today. Not long till you're holding your little boys ❤️❤️

@purplefig ahhh that is cute! Oh bless you, hopefully not long till things start off for you and your little one is here!

So someone on the GD Fb page posted these sugar free cookies they'd found in B&M; I asked DH to see if he could pop in on the way to work yesterday, but he had no luck. When I got into my car this morning there were packs of them just sitting on my dashboard 🥰
I ended up having a little cry in my car 🙈 I honestly couldn't have got through this pregnancy without him!! So happy he's back

Hope you ladies have a lovely day x

@MrsH497 we're both doing really well! He went from 10pm feed last night through till 4 this morning! That I can cope with 😂 I can't believe you're 25 weeks! I don't know where that time's gone...

@LokiCat cuddles are the best! And aww that's so sweet of your DH! I'm glad you get to have some cookies without worrying!

TrashKitten10 · 04/02/2020 08:02

@LokiCat Eek 29 weeks! Bless your DH, that's so sweet of him. Normally I'm a savoury kinda gal but was a real Cookie Monster towards the end of pregnancy and was really worried when I had to have a GTT test that I'd have to go cold turkey on my sugar addiction. Fabulous that you can enjoy a sweet treat even with GD, it's those little things that get you through the day :) How are you managing the GD? Are you just diet controlled or are you having to have insulin too? Daisy and I are well, she seems to have pretty much cut out the 4am feed and settling into an 8/9pm-6am sleep routine. Still whinging approximately 4573 times a night for me to return her dummy to her but you can't have everything ☺️

@LikeTheFruit Hope your interview goes well!

@purplefig Hoping that you're dream was a premonition and your waters really do go soon. Not long to go now :)

I'll be checking mumsnet frequently to check for @MrsEG updates today 👶🏻 👶🏻

@MrsEG - Thinking of you today! Hope you haven’t got to wait to long till you have your precious baby boys in your arms ❤️

@purplefig - I didn’t send my form of straight away so I think I need to wait for a while, I reckon I’m going to get a answer the same time as when the twins are due! My own fault - I didn’t realise i needed a certain form so I had to wait 2 weeks to get it from the hospital 🙄 glad you have stuck to your original names - I think we have as well! (But May still change our minds 😂) how are you doing? Lovely bump picture you attached as well!

@LokiCat - Really pleased you have got the GD under control, that must make you feel so much happier and more settled with it all. How exciting you could be meeting your little one next month! Happy 29 weeks!

I have a really annoying cough and so out of breathe now - it’s where one of the babies has moved up and practically sitting on my lungs now I’m hoping that will go but I’m not sure, trying to sleep upright bur I’m waking every 30 mins coughing so by the afternoon I’m exhausted!
If anyone has the steroid injections - I strongly advise to have them in the morning - both mine where done early evening meaning I was wired till 3/4am both nights and had less then 4 hours sleep....when the medication wore off my vision was very blurry due to over tiredness and my head felt all fuzzy, took 48 for me to go back to normal, not sure if it was just me who has had side effects like that - but it wasn’t pleasant.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday 😊

@MrsEg all the best for today you wonderful human!!

@PippaPug did you get a text from them saying they received your form and when to expect to hear back? Mine said 14 weeks, which was due date, hence my early chasing as I didn't want to leave it that late. That cough sounds like such a pain - I hope it improves soon. I'm OK thanks, just feeling massive and pretty uncomfortable now but I guess that's pretty standard the week before your due date Grin

@TrashKitten10 ahhh that would be fab if it was a premonition...fingers crossed. Nothing yet!

@LokiCat oh that's so sweet of your DH! It makes such a difference to pregnancy I think, having a supportive partner.

It's a lovely sunny day here which makes a nice change. I'll try and haul myself out of the house later, it just requires such monumental effort these days. Still in my PJs right now! Hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday x

PippaPug · 04/02/2020 10:59

@purplefig - I’m also still in Pjs 😂😂 I got a text a couple of weeks ago saying it will be up to 8 weeks - twins will be here by then but I did post it late so I think it was my own fault unfortunately!
Totally understand how your feeling - the struggle is real now, I just feel so whale like atm!

My friend is supposed to come and visit me today - she wanted me to go shopping 🤨 and I have said no....I’m now waiting for her, she said she would be here at some point after mid day - I just hate waiting around!

Congrats @MrsEG they are gorgeous! Glad everything went well for you and the boys didn't need a NICU trip. Out of curiosity what is the origin of the name Ruairí and how do you pronounce it? Enjoy double the newborn snuggles 🥰

@MrsEG huge congratulations!! They are so so cute and I love the names you have picked. So happy to hear that you've had a good experience and that you're all doing well.
Thank you for updating us. Enjoy all the love and cuddles 🥰🥰 xxx

@MrsR16 it felt so good eating them! Cookies make everything better 😂

@TrashKitten10 the little things really do help!
The GD has been going really well, which has made me feel a lot better about it. I had my first clinic last Wednesday and they were pleased that I'd kept my levels within the limit, so are happy for me to continue diet controlled. They'll follow up with me at the end of Feb, so hopefully all will still be the same!
Glad to hear you're doing well and that she's settled into a good routine. You must be happy to get your sleep back as well, I imagine!

@PippaPug oh no, that cough does sound annoying! Hopefully the babies will shift and you can get some decent sleep soon!
Yeah, I think knowing I've got control over the GD and being able to manage it with diet has made me a lot happier. Just hope it continues like this; the dietician mentioned that as I get further along, the hormones will make some food spike my blood sugar level even though they were once okay to eat! It's a constant trial and error!
I hope your friend didn't make you wait too long, I can't stand when I get given a very generic time and have to wait for someone.

@purplefig a supportive partner does make it so much easier. Also feels reassuring that they'll be just as supportive and hands on once the baby is here. I wouldn't blame you if you had spent the whole day in your PJs; I love those sorts of days 🙊

Had a convo with my manager this morning and have agreed on setting Wednesday as WFH day, which I'm so happy about. It'll be a nice break in the middle of the week to recuperate! May add another day as I get further along, but happy with this for now 😊
