Glad the sprain is getting better @secretlyhermione

Just been to the midwife and induction booked in for the end of the month although I have a sweep booked in for next week

secretlyhermione · 15/10/2019 13:08

@YorkshireIndie thanks, very relieved it's not as bad as I thought! When's your due date? I have my 40+1 appointment on Friday if I haven't given birth up until then. I think at my hospital they book an induction if you go +12 days over your due date.

secretlyhermione · 15/10/2019 13:15

I'm also very happy to accept a sweep if they offer me one!

userabcname · 15/10/2019 13:39

Congratulations @HJWT and @cattaxi
Day after the c section - feeling sore and a bit worse for wear. Was hoping to go home today but need to get on top of pain management first. Good luck to the next round of ladies! Friendly reminder to all that maternity wards are hotter than the fiery pits of hell so I recommend breathable fabrics and a handheld fan!

gkeal3 · 15/10/2019 13:53

@HJWT congratulations, sounds like you really went through it. Glad you and your baby boy are recovering well. I'm still pregnant 🤣 playing he waiting game....

YorkshireIndie · 15/10/2019 14:06

@secretlyhermione due date is today. They wanted me to agree to an induction for next week but agreed for the end of the month. Sweep booked for Monday

Maryrobinson81 · 15/10/2019 15:41

My sweep went well, Already about 3cm dilated and midwife hopeful it will work! If not have another in 1 week. She could feel babies head really well and the bulging membranes! Bit uncomfortable now as had to park ages away for school run but I’m sure the long walk after sweep can only help!!

Figuringitout · 15/10/2019 16:18

@Maryrobinson81 - sounds promising. I had pretty much the same message from my midwife after she did a sweep and I had my daughter later that evening, so fingers crossed for you!

gkeal3 · 15/10/2019 16:49

@Maryrobinson81 did you ask for the sweep?
I'm due Saturday and have midwife appointment Thursday, was thinking of asking for a sweep if baby isn't here by then but so you have to be over your due date?
I've never actually got as far as my due date before so I've never had a sweep or had to ask for own x

secretlyhermione · 15/10/2019 17:04

I don't even know if my hospital will already allow me to do a sweep at 40+1 I guess it depends... At my appointment last Monday at 38+4 they said I was 50% effaced but hadn't started dilating so hoping things will have got moving by Friday. @Figuringitout is your DD your first child? Just wondering if sweeps tend to work better with the second

Figuringitout · 15/10/2019 17:23

@secretlyhermione - she’s number 3, so I don’t know if that makes a difference!

Sw2102 · 15/10/2019 17:48

Congratulations @katnissKSmile

Just back from my appointment and have been offered a sweep for end of week as I'm over due date. Pleasantly surprised as thought they might make me be over 41 weeks first. Hope yours works @Maryrobinson81!

@secretlyhermione my DD was great to travel with when she was little and still is generally now..but needs almost more stops as she sleeps less! So I'm another who would say that hopefully you'd be ok for longish journeys when baby is young.

JessG222 · 15/10/2019 17:51

First time pregnant (planned) and so emotional, sick and scared! Help Blush

Maryrobinson81 · 15/10/2019 19:24

@gkeal3 at my last appointment she said if baby’s head was nice and low she could try if I wanted as I would then be over 40 weeks, she’s also on leave next week and I have been lucky enough to only see her throughout so we wanted to keep it that way really. I am 40+1 today but I don’t see any harm in asking! Depends on your areas policy I suppose.
Had a constant dull ache since but to be honest haven’t really sat down since as it was school run, making tea, bath time etc. Hoping when they are all in bed shortly I can do some relaxing and see what happens!

YorkshireIndie · 15/10/2019 19:29

@Maryrobinson81 that is sounding positive.

Going to give an acupuncturist a call tomorrow. My mum saw one and 24hrs later my sister was born

Just been offered a job that I applied for before I got pregnant and interviewed in June 😆🤦🏻‍♀️

sweetsaltypopcorn · 15/10/2019 21:02

I found out earlier today that I will be having a C section at 38+1 on the 31st 🎃👻 so DD has just snuck into being an October baby!

HJWT · 16/10/2019 00:09

Thanks everyone 🥰

How is everyone doing? Its crazy we wait so long for these babies to come out and once they are here time just goes by so fast!!

Hopefully I can go home tomorrow! Baby is feeding well every 2-3 hours which is great but I'm exhausted and these beds are killing me 🥴

Finding it hard coming to terms with the fact I won't be having anymore babies! DH and I was thinking maybe one more after this baby but after what happened its not worth the risk so the decision was made for us 🤷🏻‍♀️ xx

secretlyhermione · 16/10/2019 07:31

@Sw2102 thanks, that's reassuring!!
All well here. Sprain has pretty much healed thankfully and baby is moving a lot in there so he/she is doing fine. Fielding lots of messages everyday as everyone is curious whether baby has arrived! I'm very sure I'll go over the due date but given the due date is tomorrow all these messages seem premature!! I understand people are curious but it just makes me think I'll continue to be inundated until he/she decides to arrive.
Today we're getting the baby's wardrobe delivered so I'm actually quite happy I haven't gone into labour yet so I can use today to finally sort all the baby's things in its own designated spot (talk about last minute!)
Hope all you ladies are doing well!

Maryrobinson81 · 16/10/2019 09:46

Well I’m still here still pregnant after my sweep that the midwife did yesterday.she was convinced I’d have baby last night. I spent the evening having cramps and the odd contraction type pain, but it never turned into anything.
@secretlyhermione aw enjoy sorting all your babies things out!

Em39ma · 16/10/2019 09:52

@HJWT good they were so on it.
Hysterectomy would never be there first choice, so they would of done because they had no other choice.
Glad they are looking after you.
We had Isobel’s hip scan a couple of days ago, got a phone call yesterday from the consultant to say she does have a problem. He’s arranging for us to see a specialist at Southampton general, they have said they hopefully give me a call in the next few days.

YorkshireIndie · 16/10/2019 13:34

@Em39ma glad you have got the results but I am sorry it is not good news.

@secretlyhermione has the wardrobe arrived? Is the nursery looking finished

@Maryrobinson81 any more signs today? I have booked in for a sweep tomorrow and thinking about getting a yoga ball to bounce on tomorrow

@JessG222 How are you feeling today? Had an oh shit moment that there is no putting this off - my life will be forever changing

@sweetsaltypopcorn Yay for October babies!

secretlyhermione · 16/10/2019 14:39

@YorkshireIndie yes it's arrived and it's huge! Very happy and now I have so much space for all the baby's things, looking forward to sorting it all.
Ladies who have already gone into labour - my baby is moving so much today, I feel like more than usual, could this be a sign or am I reading too much into it?

JessG222 · 16/10/2019 18:25

@YorkshireIndie had really bad morning sickness and haven’t been going in to work because everything is making me feel really sick! Still feel sick now. I’m the same - it’s a really scary feeling as I don’t know what to expect. How are you feeling?

HJWT · 16/10/2019 18:51

@Em39ma I know! It wouldn't have mattered either way, they have told me that I really should not have anymore 😥 DH said they was just all looking at each other as if to say this isn't going to end well and then the midwife said it was one of the worst bleeds she had ever seen.

We wasn't set on a 3rd but when the decision is taken away from you its quite hard to come to terms with 😕 xx

Em39ma · 16/10/2019 20:18

@HJWT it is always worse for those watching too.
There just there standing by watching it happen. My DH said he would chose me over the baby , as he knew if it went badly I would chose the baby.
