@JessG222 just want the baby out now - getting really uncomfortable and because I have deferred induction I am questioning if I am going the right thing. Got a sweep booked in for tomorrow

@HJWT I know what you mean - once you have been told that something can not happen it is hard and you have all of the post pregnancy hormones to deal with at the same time. Sending you lots of hugs though

AngeloMysterioso · 16/10/2019 22:23

So many new babies! Congratulations @cattaxi and @KatnissK!

Blimey @HJWT you really went through it Flowers hope you’re being well looked after x

cattaxi · 17/10/2019 00:43

Just checking in!
Had a whirlwind couple of days. They let me home yesterday, 24 hours after my section. I struggled a lot with post op wind pain last night. It was dreadful - and a bit of a shock as I didn’t get it last time. But i’ve got better as today’s progressed.
Ds is a delight, and it’s been lovely introducing him to the older two. Feeding is going well so far.

Congratulations @HJWT. It sounds like you really went through it. I’m so sorry. The dr’s & nurses are amazing. Go easy on yourself while you recover.

How are you feeling @KatnissK?

I hope everyone else is doing ok. Looking forward to more baby news in coming days.

Maryrobinson81 · 17/10/2019 07:31

Well I’m still here ladies, no signs even though I was so favourable on the sweep!
@cattaxi glad you are home now, i have so many special photos and memories of my children meeting their newest brother or sister, can’t wait to do it again with this little one!
@YorkshireIndie hope your sweep goes well!

Not sure what to do with myself today! Went for long walk in beach yesterday and that didn’t work either!

secretlyhermione · 17/10/2019 07:56

Good morning! Due date for me as well and again no symptoms apart from some very mild cramps. Tomorrow I'm off to the hospital for a check so intrigued to see what they say.
Sprain has pretty much healed so will venture out today and hope the activity will do me well.

robodo · 17/10/2019 08:10

Has anyone woke up with nosebleeds, I randomly woke up to my nose running, did not notice until I wiped fresh red blood, never had one before?

cattaxi · 17/10/2019 08:21

It was a really special moment @Maryrobinson81. I get so emotional seeing them all together.
Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long now to meet your newest addition.

Happy due date @secretlyhermione.

I had nosebleeds throughout pregnancy @robodo. Completely random ones. Apparently they are common & nothing to worry about if they don’t last long. They stopped as soon as ds was born.

YorkshireIndie · 17/10/2019 08:22

Thanks @Maryrobinson81. My sleep last night was so poor. Think I saw 1.30 and I definitely woke up and saw 4.30. DH left his alarm on so I woke up at 6.05 and woke up at 8. Think the dogs need to go out so can not lounge in bed for a bit 😣

HJWT · 17/10/2019 08:34

Morning everyone!

Really hope everyone still waiting for baby has them soon 🥰

Once everyones baby's are here we will have to start ante natal thread xx

How is everyone's day going? Just had my sweep and it looks like I am 1cm dilated (nothing to write home about). Looks like my weekend plans are going ahead. Off to cook tea for my grandmother

Positivity86 · 17/10/2019 17:25

Happy due date @secretlyhermione, hope you don't have to wait too much longer!

@Maryrobinson81 hope things start for you soon!

@robodo I also had a few random nosebleeds earlier on in my pregnancy, I think it's pretty normal!

@HJWT hope you are recovering ok and enjoying your lovely newborn 😊

I'm 39+1 and no real signs. I still have the groin and thigh pressure and some colostrum came out in the shower the other night so that got me excited haha. My next midwife appointment is next week...it says in my notes they offer you a sweep at the 40 week appointment so hope that's the case if I'm still pregnant then.

Hope everyone else has had a good day!

Sw2102 · 17/10/2019 17:52

@Yorkshireindie when I had DD I was 1.5cm when the midwife did my sweep and I went into labour that evening and she was born the next day.. so you may be suprised!

I also had my sweep this afternoon but it wasn't really a sweep as my cervix was too high and not dilated at all. So scan and sweep again in a few days. Im 40+4 so I thought I might be more on my way that I seem to be!

Frizzy1986 · 17/10/2019 18:15

It won't be long now for anyone still waiting. At least there's an end in sight.
I'm still tired. Slowly doing a bit more each day, but no where near feeling myself yet. Still getting some breathlessness which I think is preventing me from getting out and doing more as I'm still worried about it.
Orson is doing well. Milk still comes out one of his nostrils when he feeds which worries me, and he seems to consolidate his poos so he strains to get them out and then several fire out while his legs are in the air changing him (runny mustard stuff which is right type) do I'm concerned about that as well.
Still being an anxious mum clearly.

YorkshireIndie · 17/10/2019 20:57

@Frizzy1986 I think you are doing a wonderful job

HJWT · 17/10/2019 21:30

@Positivity86 thank you I am not doing to bad! Getting bored of being inside now its making me a bit depressed 🤷🏻‍♀️ so going to go out for a bit tomorrow and brave public breastfeeding 😬

@Frizzy1986 I am breathless to, going up and down stairs is very difficult ! 💐💝

Midwife came today told me about a service at the hospital so I can arrange to go in and see one of the head midwife's on delivery suite and she will get my birth notes and go through it all with us so I have a better understanding of what happened but she said what happened to me is VERY unusual and rare if that makes me feel any better 🤦🏻‍♀️ I said not really! Haha Xx

Glad it's all going well @cattaxi. I'm still a bit sore and the baby blues have hit so a bit tearful.

@HJWT hope you're ok - I lost 3.5 litres with my first due to the tearing but only lost a minimal amount with the c section, under 300ml. It really wipes you out so take care of yourself.

secretlyhermione · 18/10/2019 09:02

Hi ladies. Had my 40+1 visit this morning. Apparently cervix is very soft and favourable and 1cm dilated. They seemed pretty confident baby will make an appearance shortly, if not I have another visit next Tuesday. The midwife didn't say whether she did a sweep but she applied some pressure to help me along... Never had a sweep before so not sure whether it was that but she didn't use the exact terminology. Hoping baby comes this weekend!!

Maryrobinson81 · 18/10/2019 10:44

Hope it works for you @secretlyhermione,
I’m getting a bit fed up now. I just feel like everything is up in the air. I have another sweep booked for Wednesday, but given that the first looked like it was a certain to work I don’t really know what else will be different. Cervix was already 3cm and soft on monday! It would also be with someone I don’t know and I suffer with white coat syndrome during BP checks, which my own midwife has been so good at controlling with me and putting me at ease each time.
Half term next week too for my little crew so it will be the usual chaos at home!!

gkeal3 · 18/10/2019 11:22

Hi everyone. So lovely seeing all these new babies.

I'm due tomorrow, I went to the midwife yesterday and she measured me and said my bumps got smaller so I was sent for an emergency growth scan. They thought maybe either the placenta had stopped functioning or I had a loss of water. I was kind of hoping they'd induce me there and then but thankfully baby is fine, placenta is working well still and the fluid around the baby is normal levels to keep baby happy in there. So I was sent home to wait....and wait!

My first and third baby had been born by this stage in pregnancy and my second was on due date so still hoping to have this one very soon but it's looking like I may go over for the first time ever. Im desperate to just go into labour now!

Will update when baby finally arrives xx

YorkshireIndie · 18/10/2019 13:58

Hi All! No moment so trying to book my next sweep. Dog has hurt his paw so can not go for as many brisk walks (I know I can walk without the dog but don't want to do multiple walks for the sake of it).

Sorted out the start date for my new job!

secretlyhermione · 18/10/2019 14:44

@Maryrobinson81 oh no, and here I thought 1cm was already on good track but if you were already at 3 and she performed a sweep and we're 5 days later I guess I should also be weary that it could take longer! Then again hopefully things will happen for both of us soon :) Lets stay positive and hopefully we'll have our babies in our arms soon!

Maryrobinson81 · 18/10/2019 16:20

I hope so too @secretlyhermione
I think partly the dilation is as I’m on baby 4, I had a sweep with my 3rd at 40+4 and was only just 2 but He was then born within 12 hours or so. I hope yours works soon!
I’m going to do lots more bouncing on my ball. And see if hubby can help things things along if you know what I mean. Although we did try it twice last weekend and nothing. But maybe it will help this time and also he will be happy to oblige I’m sure!

secretlyhermione · 18/10/2019 17:32

@Maryrobinson81 ah yes could be! Baby number 4, that's so lovely, big family! This is my first so let's see if whatever the midwife did has any effect. Still feeling normal, hate being over due as everything is about symptom spotting at this stage

Frizzy1986 · 18/10/2019 19:32

Fingers crossed for all of you @secretlyhermione @gkeal3 @YorkshireIndie and @maryrobinson81

Ooo new job @YorkshireIndie exciting. I'm hoping that I'll get a new one when I have to return after mat leave as not keen on the one I left.

@HJWT hope you are feeling better. I know a few people who have used the hospital debrief service to go through their birth, what happened, what went wrong etc. They seemed happy with how it went and said it was worth doing.
Keep an eye on the breathlessness as it can mean clots which is what I'm worried about.

Ive had some occasional pains around my chest over the past day or so. They aren't sharp (which were what the doctors were asking about) but are more an ache like heartburn or something. But that's got me worried again. I don't know if I'm imagining things, it's my anxiety etc.
The hospital said if things get worse to go back, but I don't think you can just show up at the assessment unit. Also, I don't want to be sat around all day getting different tests done again (bloods, then waiting 2 hrs for results, then chest xray to rule out infection, as I've already had those done)
I just want to go in, get the scan and come home. Surely thats possible and I can just be sent to the scan department straight away?!
Not really sure how to go about it at all. Do I call the gp and ask for a telephone appointment, explain the situation and see what they say. Do I get a number for the unit at the hospital? (although the assessment unit don't do the scan, that's another department and I don't know which one)
I feel a bit lost about it all tbh and don't know who to talk to about it to resolve it.

YorkshireIndie · 18/10/2019 21:12

@Frizzy1986 thanks. I applied for the job before I got pregnant - interviewed for it in June - so it has been a very slow progress. I am transferring departments so it is not like I have to pay back my maternity pay.

I would ring the GP and ask for a telephone appointment. That way they can decide the best course of action (I.e. if they want to see you or send you directly to hospital)

Any signs @secretlyhermione and @Maryrobinson81

Just eaten a tin of pineapple in the bath. Don't think it is going to do much but it might counter all the chocolate I have eaten today 😉
