@Aurora79 fingers crossed your sweep will get things going for you! How was it? I'm super nervous about mine on Monday....if I make it to then.

I'm ready for baby cuddles now along with a nice glass of wine too!

Aurora79 · 01/11/2019 20:57

@NMCB it was my second attempt at a sweep today. Wednesday they couldn’t do it because my cervix was still too high but today was better, got another one booked for Monday if need be but at least it’s good to know that things are progressing (silver linings and all that). It wasn’t too bad, just uncomfortable though freaky when she told me she was touching the babies head!

Can’t wait for some newborn cuddles and just to get it over with now. This is my first time so the longer I wait the more anxious I get and the more I think she’s going to be a whopper!!

NMCB · 01/11/2019 21:32

@Aurora79 snap! It's my first and I'm super nervous now!

Fingers crossed for a baby filled weekend, keep us updated Grin

Em39ma · 01/11/2019 21:39

@YorkshireIndie congratulations.
Sorry I’ve been quiet, we have gone back home so just the 3 of us and have been so busy just keeping on top of everything.
After Isobel losing so much weight in the beginning, she is now putting on 8 oz a week. So I guess we can say my boobs are definitely working now. She is now 8lb9oz, she has put 2lb3oz on in 3 weeks since we left hospital.

AngeloMysterioso · 01/11/2019 22:35

I’m 41+1 today, had a sweep yesterday morning but it hasn’t done anything. Got another on Monday and induction Thursday.

And to add to the fun and games that is currently my life, having resigned myself to the fact that my PILs are going to be seeing me in my raw post partum state (what with living in their house and all), I’ve just found out that BIL and his gf are coming up next weekend as well. So that’s two more people I can look forward to witnessing me at the my most physically vulnerable. What larks.

YorkshireIndie · 02/11/2019 00:09

That is excellent news @Em39ma! You must be so happy/proud!

@AngeloMysterioso I hope your PIL are supportive - maybe have a conversation with your DH about supporting you.

To all the ladies still waiting for babies - can I recommend sprit for bits. I have been using it continuously since giving birth and can not imagine not having it

HJWT · 02/11/2019 13:10

@AngeloMysterioso make sure your DH knows that your bedroom is your safe place so if you need to go there you won't be interrupted or disturbed x

In absolute agony here, the latent phase started and I've contractions since Friday night, problem is the most regular is 1 every 10 mins Confused

Called midwife today and they've said sweep tomorrow should get things started. I'm getting so scared of the pain escalating now I've spent most of the day crying

Hurry up baby Blushhope everyone else is having a better day X

Aurora79 · 03/11/2019 14:26

@NMCB joining you still waiting, although I’ve been having contractions every 5 mins since this morning and now starting to get closer to together. Trying to hide out at home as long as possible but hoping to finally meet bubba today!

NMCB · 03/11/2019 15:08

@Aurora79 good luck! It'll be amazing when the babies are in our arms x

YorkshireIndie · 03/11/2019 16:28

Good luck!

Maryrobinson81 · 03/11/2019 17:09

Oh good luck @Aurora79 Hope it’s tonight!
Hope your sweep works @NMCB

Aurora79 · 03/11/2019 17:59

Thanks! Went in to the hospital but they’ve advised I come home and labour here for a few more hours so think we’ll be in for a long night. Baby seems happy in there but contractions are getting pretty painful so I not sure we’ll be home for long!

HJWT · 03/11/2019 19:45

Good luck everyone! @NMCB The positive birth company has a great video on YT about breathing, the second half is a load of sh.te but the first part really worked for me with contractions having to think about breathing and count took my mind of it till I needed to move on to gas and air x

@HJWT oh I'm in need, which one do you recommend? Thanks!

AngeloMysterioso · 03/11/2019 22:14

Evening all!

So... I had a baby Grin

Story to follow but we’ve got our little boy and he’s a dream.

Aurora79 · 03/11/2019 22:38

Congratulations @angelomysterioso!

Still in labour here, still at home. 15 hours and counting and feeling grim. Hoping things speed up soon!

NMCB · 03/11/2019 23:37

@AngeloMysterioso yeay! Congratulations!

Things also stepped up a gear here, now having contractions every 2 mins and trying to stay at home as long as possible.

X

AngeloMysterioso · 04/11/2019 00:14

Aurora79 · 05/11/2019 03:04

Finally able to join the crew! Baby girl born last night and 8lb 10. She’s amazing already despite the 2 day labour and PPH meaning we’ll be in hospital a little longer than planned!

YorkshireIndie · 05/11/2019 09:22

Congratulations @Aurora79! Sorry that you have had to be in longer than expected

Maryrobinson81 · 05/11/2019 14:49
