@ELW85 @MrsH497 I feel a lot better this morning for a good rest! I have booked an osteopath appt for next week on my friends advice, some preventative treatment I hope! My bump is really huge at the mo so I can imagine it’s just a lot of pressure on all the joints down there!

@ELW85 Please try not to worry - worry changes nothing as they say! I’m a big believer of the positive mental attitude really helping with your mental state at anxious times :) glad you had a lovely time with DH.

@Tropicana1 He is not a fan at all! Even at 4 years old I have to coax him in with a bit of Primula cheese haha, and then he stands with his head down and ears pinned back until it’s over!! He deals with it though!

@MrsH497 Have fun in Devon! I personally don’t take pregnacare I just take folic acid and vitamin D, midwife says that’s all you actually need and I find it much more palatable :)

Cross post! @purplefig I wouldn’t say it’s late at all, isn’t it up to 24 weeks to even feel first flutters? My sister was 21 weeks before even a tickle. It’ll soon come I’m sure! Ah my dog loves the beach so much. I’d love to live a bit closer to one!!

@MrsEG - I have found it for around £200/£300 but the ones at the higher end have the summer cover which I really want....so cheaper without the cover or more expensive with the extra summer cover, decisions decisions!
How’s your pains today? What episode is the Emma Willis twins one do you know? I went to look at it yesterday, but they don’t have any info - if it’s twins or not on the blurb!

@BabySquid - those cakes look lovely!

@purplefig - got to admit I am relieved! Just hopeful that the GTT comes back normal, fingers crossed! I think I’m pretty sure we won’t find out - but we are still a few weeks off our 20 week scan!

@LokiCat - fingers crossed for the natural birth! Are you still having afternoon naps? I’m almost 17 weeks and still have a few naps a week!

@MrsR16 - I can’t Wait to hit 3rd trimester!

@ELW85 - I’m sure your results will be fine, and your feel so much better getting them and your wonder what you were worrying about!

@MrsH497 - I can’t take pregnacare tablets anymore they make me violently sick, but on suggestion from here I have ordered the pregnacare gummies - they don’t smell/taste great but I can manage it!

Have a wonderful Thursday - it’s almost the weekend!

PippaPug · 26/09/2019 09:35

Forgot to ask - Is anyone thinking of a birthing ball? Apparently it can help aid a natural birth - but I don’t know much about it or when to start using it if I got one!

ELW85 · 26/09/2019 09:42

@purplefig @MrsEG @PippaPug- thanks guys, you’re totally right. I’ve been fine all week, think I’m just having a wobble because it’s getting closer to finding out but I realise I’m being silly. Normal service will resume!

Ooh - finally caught up with GBBO last night. Really surprised as Michelle I thought had been pretty strong all the way so one blip didn’t really feel justified. I think they were just bored of the other girl, to be honest. No idea how Priya is still there.

@PippaPug - I’ve been reading about the birthing centre and various bits and pieces so I’m curious about birthing balls and ribbons but have no idea where to start!!

MrsEG · 26/09/2019 10:22

@PippaPug Pains are much better today! I think bump just had a growth spurt and it’s caused some additional pressure, it’s enormous today!!

I have a birthing ball on the advice from my yoga teacher - loads of info on it here:
www.babycentre.co.uk/a1048463/using-a-birthing-ball
I don’t know whether it aids a natural birth but I have certainly heard it can keep you mobile and shorten labour by about an hour :)

@ELW85 I have Priya in our work sweepstake, she’s an embarrassment!!

OP posts:
MrsH497 · 26/09/2019 10:35

@ELW85 totally agree how is Priya still here she's not good at all!

ELW85 · 26/09/2019 10:55

@MrsEG @MrsH497 - I’d be astounded if the other girl who had star baker for the last 2 weeks didn’t win. Why am I so bad with names today?!
Dark hair, strong fringe game? X

BostonFern · 26/09/2019 11:21

@cupcakesandglitter so pleased the scan went well! I had exactly the same experience with the rhesus negative results, midwife just walked up to me in the waiting room, announced it and left me with a booklet! I'm lucky my degree had medical aspects to it, so I wasn't too phased, but I can imagine what an awful experience it is otherwise. If it helps reassure you, my baby is rhesus positive, so I had to have the anti-d injection a few weeks ago. It was just like getting a flu jab, but no achey arm in the days after! I just need to be mindful that if I have any bleeding or a bump to the bump I need to go get checked and would most likely have another anti-d injection.

@purplefig we've got quite a large fridge freezer combo, will see if I can find it and post a link if so. Freezer isn't massive but it's definitely big enough for our needs and we normally keep a stock of freezer food in it for days when we are too tired to cook from scratch.

@BabySquid that's exactly why we are batch cooking, I don't want to worry about how much we might spend on takeaways! Sounds like your cupcakes are going to be delicious!

@MrsH497 sending you hugs, I can imagine the combination of anxiety, hormones and tiredness is very challenging at the moment.

@Tropicana1 thanks-I have you admit it's DP doing all the cooking, I've just told him what to cook and done the shopping list 😂

@MrsEG can you self refer to physio in your area?
How exciting to have felt proper movement too!!

@thumper59 that sounds like a lovely midwife appointment, baby definitely sounds like they're very comfy even if you're not!

@PippaPug that's shame you didn't get to see thr babies again, but great news the consultant is so pleased. Re the birthing ball, I've got an old exercise ball we are going to blow up tonight, I'm starting to feel the need to be more upright and forward in the evenings now (31 weeks), so I'm hoping it'll help me get a bit more comfy.

@LokiCat your DH sounds really sweet, did you manage any of the hot chocolate?

@ELW85 hope you don't have much longer to wait for the NIPT result.

purplefig · 26/09/2019 12:23

@MrsEG glad you're feeling better for a good rest - hopefully the osteopath appointment will help. Like someone else mentioned, I've had a lot of success at physio for a non-pregnancy running related issue, could be worth a go if you can self-refer? I'm sure you're right about the movements, I know my midwife says up to 24 weeks too - I'm just being impatient!

@PippaPug I'll keep my fingers crossed. Ooo that's exciting - I know a few people who didn't decide until the appointment whether they'd find out or not. I'm definitely getting a birthing ball as apparently they can help get the baby into the right position + help you feel comfortable!

@BostonFern that sounds like a good set-up - we definitely need to have a think as lots of frozen homemade meals sounds utterly perfect for the first month or so after birth. DH is wonderful in so many ways, but the man cannot cook to save his life!! So unless I want to live on jacket potatoes and frozen pizza, it's time to get cooking Grin

@ELW85 No problem lovely, totally normal to have a wobble!

I'm going to wish you all a happy weekend a bit early as I'm off tomorrow! I'm going shopping to hopefully try and find something for a wedding. I hate leaving things this last minute, but I'm kind of glad I have as I seem to have 'popped' in the last few days. I wore my new maternity workout tank on last night's dog walk and DH was so shocked - he was like where has that bump come from?! Grin

BostonFern · 26/09/2019 12:40

@purplefig I think this is the one we have, if this is any help ao.com/product/crfg1582w-beko-fridge-freezer-white-41689-28.aspx

Enjoy shopping tomorrow!

thumper59 · 26/09/2019 12:47

@Tropicana1 ahh, men. What would we do without them 😂 my OH said the other day my belly is the size of a planet 😂😂 it's not a lie though

@purplefig no not really, when I was maybe 24 weeks or so she'd asked in conversation and I did say my preference is for a natural as possible water birth, and nothing else has ever been said since then? But if we are meant to discuss it I think she's sailing a bit close to the wind 😬 I don't know I feel like if I don't bring something up then we don't talk about it, I don't know if this is normal or not?

Tropicana1 · 26/09/2019 13:42

@PippaPug my yoga teacher recommended a birthing ball like @MrsEG said. We do lots of hip swaying on the ball in pregnancy yoga and practicing different movements to try out during labour. It is very comfy I'd definitely recommend!

@thumper59 size of a planet 😂 DHs seemingly nightly ritual at the moment is when I'm getting ready for bed to get me to stand side on to him (naked) and then he stares at me and usually says something along the lines of how large I look 🤰🏼

MrsR16 · 26/09/2019 13:46

@purplefig 18th December! It's coming round far too quickly... I'm just hoping against hope I don't go 2 weeks over, as that'll be New Year!

@PippaPug make the most of your second trimester though! I'm already getting insanely tired 😂 I definitely want to get hold of a ball - apparently it helps so much!

@ELW85 I disagree with the GBBO eliminations too... Priya's driving me crackers!! Steph is awesome though and the fact that she has no idea how good she is makes it even better!

@MrsEG great to see your pains are better today!!

@thumper59 men are so helpful! 😂

@Tropicana1 full of compliments aren't they?

LikeTheFruit · 26/09/2019 14:18

Killing myself laughing at all these DH quote. I've no really bump yet so nothing like these. But, boobs have shot up in size again and HD yesterday was like "Wooooowwwww, they look plastic" 😂😂. I'm not sure if he meant Barbie doll or boob job.

stormtrooperjulian · 26/09/2019 14:38

Thanks for all the well wishes over the past few days ladies! Labour didn't exactly go to plan (massive understatement there!) but it's over now and I can finally introduce baby Dexter....

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 7!
MrsEG · 26/09/2019 15:26

@stormtrooperjulian He is beautiful! Do tell us your labour story if and when you ever feel like telling us! He is a beauty. Congratulations!! How are you feeling?

@LikeTheFruit DH jokes that pregnancy boobs are a cruel joke by Mother Nature - never looked bigger or better; too sore to be played with!

@MrsR16 Thank you lovely, how did you get on with your belt? I highly recommend a ball - fab when your lower back is a bit achey.

@purplefig @BostonFern Have a fabulous weekend! I can self refer for physio and even get it free, but after some discussion apparently osteo is better it would seem. So I’ll give it a go! I’m hoping it I just stay mobile but don’t over do it that could help!

@ELW85 Steph, yes I love her! And David. I see them both in the final!

cupcakesandglitter · 26/09/2019 15:28

Thankyou for all your reassuring messages yesterday lovelies, I definitely calmed down a bit yesterday but unfortunately now have a super sore throat and I'm still exhausted 🙃

Ahhh @stormtrooperjulian congratulations!! What a cutie 🥰 how're you feeling? X

@LikeTheFruit 😂 I'm sure it's a complement either way, pregnancy boobies are fantastic!! X

@MrsR16 ahhhh not long to go!!! It'll fly by I'm sure! X

Thankyou @BostonFern that definitely makes me feel loads better!! It's horrible when you don't know anyone else going through it so you've definitely put me at ease, I'm feeling less anxious about it ❤️

@MrsEG I LOVE Emma Willis!! I love how real the births are, and how she cries every time 🥺 x

@BabySquid those cakes look fantastic 🤤 x

@thumper59 three weeks?! So close now!! Xx

ELW85 · 26/09/2019 15:49

@BostonFern - thank you so you much 😊 fingers crossed for tomorrow and all being well!
31 weeks?! Wow! How are you feeling? Super-excited I can imagine!

@purplefig - thank you, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy the shopping trip, I’m sure you’ll look great 😊

@MrsEG @MrsR16 - I think all the GBBO talk might have inspired me to bake this weekend...can’t be worse than Priya 😂

@stormtrooperjulian - congratulations!! So sorry to hear the birth didn’t go to expectations but as long as you’re both healthy, you can enjoy it now! X

MrsH497 · 26/09/2019 16:46

Huge congratulations @stormtrooperjulian and welcome little Dexter!! What a handsome little man!! Hope you're doing ok lovely xx

MrsR16 · 26/09/2019 18:40

@stormtrooperjulian oh, look at Dexter's beautiful little face! He is gorgeous! I hope labour wasn't too horrendous for you... it sounds like quite a trial! Well done and huge congratulations!

@MrsEG I haven't got there yet! 😂 DH is out for the evening so I may accost him when he gets home to sort it out!

@ELW85 I'm baking this evening for the Macmillan coffee morning tomorrow... 😂 we'll see how well that goes!

LikeTheFruit · 26/09/2019 19:19

Congratulations @stormtrooperjulian !! He's gorgeous. Hope you're doing well.

@MrsEG if only mine were still sore!!

@cupcakesandglitter I know! I've never had boobs like this!! Fingers crossed they'll stay perky but I have my doubts.

MrsR16 · 26/09/2019 20:31

Just had the biggest meltdown ever because the cake I tried to bake didn't work! 😭 I blame hormones...

Delilah7 · 26/09/2019 20:58

😍 @stormtrooperjuliancongratulations darling he's gorgeous love the name x x x

Fivebyfive2 · 26/09/2019 21:01

@MrsR16, baking related meltdowns are real though, pregnant or not! It's just frustrating when you get the ingredients, take the time and it doesn't come out right. So I'm 100% behind you. Could you disguise with decoration?! Xxx

@stormtrooperjulian, congratulations!! He is just perfect 🙂 Sorry to hear your labor didn't go to plan. I hope you are feeling OK. Are you still in hospital? Xxx

Bake off... Nooooo!! I loved Helena, she was like a Goth Baker kindred spirit!! The judging seems all over the place, I mean what's the point of a technical if you can come first and it counts for nothing?! Also, on the subject of technicals, this is the 2nd in a row set by Prue where they all struggled... Maybe it's the recipies?!!

Work continues to be 'interesting' at the moment 🙄. So glad it's almost the weekend! Me and my mum are going into Brum Sat and then it's Strictly with her and sil so that'll be lovely 🙂Also, mum and dad got us a cot bed and mattress from IKEA!!! Dh is once again overwhelmed by all the stuff that's taking over the house 😂 I darent tell him I plan on ordering a SnuzPod for our bedroom when I get paid, before the offer expires!! Might need to feed him a nice dinner tomorrow before I tell him?!

@MrsH497, the boots vitamins are good or I know some people take the 7 seas ones xxx

@MrsEG, how are you? And who is Emma Willis?! I'm intrigued! Xxx
