@Fivebyfive2 I wouldn't mind that much if it was just for me/DH, but it's for Macmillan! Well, the coffee morning anyway... ooh, have fun telling DH! I'd go in with all the positives about the stuff that you have 😂 that's so sweet that your parents got the cot and mattress! Xx

ELW85 · 26/09/2019 21:11

@MrsR16 - baking is tricky at the best of time, so a meltdown is totally justified! It’s definitely the thought that counts 😊

@Fivebyfive2 - sorry that work isn’t being great, but it sounds like there’s lots to look forward to this weekend!
You’re right about GBBO - the judging is erratic and it totally feels like they’re just kicking people off for random reasons!

MrsH497 · 26/09/2019 21:37

Sorry to ask yet another question ladies - exercise during early pregnancy what is recommended? I just feel a bit podgy with the bloating so was thinking some swimming, walking, cross trainer?

BostonFern · 27/09/2019 08:20

Huge congratulations @stormtrooperjulian baby Dexter is gorgeous! Hope you are doing well x

@cupcakesandglitter you're welcome! I'm glad it's helped put your mind at ease a bit.

@ELW85 quite a mixture of emotions at the minute-very excited to be getting closer to meeting him, but also quite anxious! It's amazing seeing how excited DP is getting too.

@MrsR16 these hormones have a lot to answer for!

@Fivebyfive2 sorry work continues to be 'interesting'! Enjoy Brum tomorrow.....it won't be long before the German market arrives, not sure I'll be attempting that this year! 😂 Which cot did you go for, MIL also got us ours from Ikea, we've got to put it up this weekend, and the bedside crib needs to be put up.

@MrsH497 I didn't manage anything more than gentle walks, but then I've got loads of other health conditions that prohibited me from doing lots of types of exercise before pregnancy! I would think swimming and low impact exercise would be good, can't imagine anything high impact would help your joints as the relaxin starts to loosen them up?

MrsEG · 27/09/2019 08:28

@cupcakesandglitter I love it too, I never make a plan to watch it but if I’m ever flicking through and it’s on I will - and all three times there has been a twin birth on there! They said this week that her hospital has about 50 twin births a year, roughly one a week - I’d love to know how that compares to single births!
Sorry about the sore throat - I’m still full of cold, it’s taking ages to shift and is such a pain I can’t take a single decongestant to help!!

@ELW85 Do it! I love baking, I find it so therapeutic. The main reason I slowed down was because unless I have an event to do it I’d often end up eating a full tray of brownies to myself!!

@MrsR16 Ha good luck! I have my belt on today - it’s an interesting look haha! I’ll try and get a picture later! Oh don’t worry - I’ve had cake meltdowns even without the hormones, I once threw a half-full piping bag across the kitchen in a ‘it isn’t decorating right! rage!!

@Fivebyfive2 Sorry to hear about work! Emma Willis is a TV presenter, she has a show where she is having her midwifery training. It’s really good!

@bostonfern hello lovely! Are you feeling better?

@MrsH497 Swimming yoga walking are all fine; the general rule is whatever you did before you can continue but don’t start anything new. It also depends on the pregnancy - I was an avid runner but as soon as we knew it was twins they consultant told me to stop. As BostonFern says anything low impact to keep you mobile and moving is absolutely fine though - all relative to you, what you’re used to and how you’re feeling!

Happy Friday ladies! I’m WFH today as the pram is being delivered. We’ve finished all the clearing out/switching about in the bedrooms upstairs so I also have a long weekend of organising and many, many tip runs ahead of me!! Hope everyone has a fab weekend.

@MrsEG thanks for asking, physically getting there but still really tired, I think the energy I'd usually be using to recover is just going straight to baby now he's putting on all this weight in these last weeks. Struggling with anxiety quite a bit at the moment, I've had anxiety in the past but I think all of the scans and worry last week really haven't helped, I'm getting lots of support though so that's helping a lot.

Sounds like you've got a really productive weekend planned. Don't get overdoing it with the organising and tip trips this weekend, I think it's really easy to do when you're in the second trimester and starting to get that bit of energy back.

MrsC87 · 27/09/2019 09:01

Hey Ladies, not sure if you remember me from the original TTC thread but my Charlie is now 11 weeks old. Just wanted to check in to see how all you ladies are getting on?
The last 11 weeks have flown by!

Congratulations to all new ladies on here- so lovely to see you get your BFP s! 🥰

@BostonFern I’m really glad you’re getting plenty of support. I have a history with anxiety and have some bad days but it’s well managed now and I know how to kind of ‘shoo’ the thoughts away, if that makes sense. But it’s all noted with my midwife as the scans sometimes make me worry etc and like you, towards the end I think I’ll also be worrying about the growth scans, delivery etc. I really feel for you as it’s not nice at all; look after yourself lovely. Glad you’re recovering as best you can too xx

@MrsR16 Pic of my super sexy belt haha! Now I know where all the ‘bits’ go it’s actually quite easy to get on!

@MrsC87 Hello lovely! Oh my gosh he is a little treasure - first smiles!! How have you been getting on?

MrsC87 · 27/09/2019 09:18

@MrsEG Thankyou, doing good now, it's tough going at first but that was mainly down to Charlie having silent reflux. On meds and he's really settled these last couple of weeks.
How are you doing? How many weeks left now? xx

MrsEG · 27/09/2019 09:25

@MrsC87 Oh I'm glad to hear he's more settled now - I bet you're very glad of it too!! I'm only 19 weeks, I just look huge as it's twins! Found out it is two boys too :) It looks like I'll have them by 37 weeks so very end of January. Which sometimes feels so far away but other times feels like it's just around the corner!! Xx

MrsC87 · 27/09/2019 09:29

Aww fabulous, I love being a mum of a boy 💙 honestly it will come round. But the last couple of weeks because your excited and tired do drag a little- just keep thinking of meeting your gorgeous boys. Will you be induced? I was induced at 39 weeks so if you have any questions I'm happy to help. Lovely bump, looking great. Makes me miss my bump xx

ELW85 · 27/09/2019 09:56

Morning all!

So, just got a call from the lab - the Harmony result is as low as it can be so we’re basically all good 🤞🏻
They didn’t tell me the sex, so DH and I can open the report together. I’m so happy/relieved, I cried!

Happy Friday all round 😀

Fivebyfive2 · 27/09/2019 10:02

@Bostonfern, we got the white cot bed with the draws that have coloured knobs. The top and bottom pannels are arched. Not describing it well, will try to find a picture! Good luck assembling the bedside cot! Xx

@MrsC87, hi sweet! Aaah I love him! So glad to hear you're doing well xxx

thumper59 · 27/09/2019 10:11

@cupcakesandglitter 3 weeks left at work, 5 on Monday until due date 😬 so exciting!! I am knackered again today though, I think I felt like this last Friday too. Think it's just the end of the working week really taking it out on me! Nice early night for me tonight I think as it's one of my best friends wedding tomorrow so a big/ long day, super excited though! She is just beautiful I can't wait to see her in her dress

@stormtrooperjulian congratulations! He's perfect. Sorry it didn't go as you'd hoped but I hope your feeling a bit better now 🥰

@BostonFern I am finding the third trimester tiredness much harder then the first! Feeling really drained like I could nap mid day every day

@ELW85 amazing news!

MrsEG · 27/09/2019 10:30

@MrsC87 I will possibly be induced if they’re in a good position and don’t come early. Otherwise it’ll be a c-section. I have a meeting with my consultant in 2 weeks to go through it all but will definitely ask some Qs of you if so! It’s so funny my friends all say they really missed their bump afterwards!

@ELW85 Absolutely wonderful news; I never doubted it, but I bet that extra peace of mind is wonderful :)

@thumper59 Enjoy the wedding!

OP posts:
ELW85 · 27/09/2019 10:38

@thumper59 - thank you so much! I can’t believe you’ve got 3 weeks left at work! Have a wonderful time at the wedding tomorrow 😊

@MrsEG - thank you so much!
On the baking point; I’m more of a savoury person so the danger in our house is DH annihilating any cake I’ve made before anyone else gets any 😂

MrsR16 · 27/09/2019 13:10

@ELW85 my DH must have felt bad for me - he went and bought 48 fairy cakes for me to bring in instead! 😂 Fantastic to see your results are ok!

@BostonFern they really do! Hormones are stupid haha!

@MrsEG oh goodness! That poor piping bag! 😂 I'm rubbish in the kitchen anyway, but baking I can do (well, thought I could 😂) so that was enough to tip me right over the edge. I was sat on the kitchen floor just sobbing lol! Belt looks ok! Is it actually comfy?

@MrsC87 oh my goodness, look at your baby boy! Charlie is gorgeous!!

@thumper59 definitely enjoy tomorrow! Bet you've got another stunning dress to wear... 😊

ELW85 · 27/09/2019 13:12

@MrsR16 - oh bless him! What a wonderful thing to do 😊
Are you totally out off baking now? That would be a bizarre travesty of being pregnant 😂

MrsR16 · 27/09/2019 13:45

@ELW85 I think I'll try again... but not yet haha! 😂 maybe wait till I'm on leave or have nothing to do for a day or so! We'll see what happens 😊

ELW85 · 27/09/2019 15:53

@MrsR16 - haha, time is a great healer!

So, we’ve opened the email and we’re having a little boy 💙
Beyond excited!! Would have been this happy either way though!

MrsH497 · 27/09/2019 16:02

Oh @ELW85 huge congratulations 💙💙💙xx

stormtrooperjulian · 27/09/2019 16:02

Thanks all!

@MrsEG @cupcakesandglitter @fivebyfive2 I'm feeling good thanks, we're just waiting for paperwork to be done so we can be discharged now

Will share my birth story when I have a chance to write it down if anyone is interested 😊 it's not exactly an easy or particularly positive one but I do end up with a healthy baby and I'm all good now!

@MrsH497 I carried on with exercise as normal - HIIT and weights - up til around 34 weeks when it started triggering braxton hicks, then I started swimming instead

@MrsC87 Charlie is gorgeous! He looks like such a happy baby too

@ELW85 Great news on your harmony result! You can relax now 😊

LokiCat · 27/09/2019 16:17

Hi all :) happy Friday! Sun is shining right now after it's been pissing it down all morning!

@stormtrooperjulian ahh congratulations on little Dexter, he's gorgeous! Sorry to hear you didn't your labour didn't go to plan, but glad your little one is happy and healthy.
Would love to read your birth story when you have a chance to share it 😊

@MrsC87 Ahh look at Charlie's smile! Gorgeous bubba 😊

@ELW85 eeeek congratulations on a little boy 💙💙 Glad all the Harmony test results all came back clear as well! So, so happy for you 😊

Sorry for all others that I've missed. I hope you're all doing well 😊❤️

Anyone have any weekend plans? We were gonna go for a walk around Richmond park tomorrow (I love seeing all the deers everywhere), but poor DH has hurt his ankle so think it'll be a relaxing weekend at home instead!

ELW85 · 27/09/2019 16:21

Thank you so much @MrsH497! How are you feeling? Xx

@stormtrooperjulian - thank you and definitely interested in hearing your birth story! Congratulations again 😊

Thank you @LokiCat - we’re so happy! It’s awful weather here so not much on this weekend, but I might bake on Sunday if I don’t end up working. How are you feeling?

LokiCat · 27/09/2019 16:29

@ELW85 all the talk of baking on the thread is getting me in the mood to bake as well! What would you bake?
I'm good thank you! Was at a training course this morning when my app notification popped up saying I'm 10 weeks today. I was so shocked but it put me in the greatest mood! I can't believe I'm already 10 weeks but at the same time it feels like it's going incredibly slow, if that makes sense 😂
How are you feeling? Have your symptoms from first trimester gone now?
