Can't quite believe it but I've just taken a test this morning... Baby no.2 is on the way! According to the NHS due date calculator, I'm due on 1st June 2020.

We're both a bit surprised as we'd only just started "trying not trying" (very lucky, I know) and our first TTC journey was a bit of a rollercoaster. But yeah... Here we go! DD will have just turned 2 when they arrive. Terrifying but we're both very excited!

Anyone else also found out the same today?

Hey @BexCinnamon, lovely to see you here. There is definitely lots of anxiety especially this early bit. I found it really hard to deal with last time and I'm not doing much better this time. I think having a support network of people who are going through the same thing really helps. Is this your first?
With you on the constipation, I have had to put my maternity jeans on. All my trousers are too uncomfortable and my legs are too hairy for skirts.

Anny27 · 24/09/2019 20:17

I wish i had constipation atm i have the opposite problem 🙈🙈🙈

BexCinnamon · 24/09/2019 20:18

@MamaPeas yes this is our first! Due 2nd JuneSmileI feel like I'm definitely bloated after evening dinners but not much reason to be - good to know you're in the same boat! My legs are also too hairy for skirts 😂

Going to keep testing and praying for darker lines. I'm still at work at the minute but in the morning I'll try and take a pic and upload to see what you all think?

MamaPeas · 24/09/2019 20:27

@BexCinnamon, get on the maternity wear, it's life changing! Especially a nice pair of maternity jeans with the high waist band as the weather gets cooler! So comfy.

You are still at work! Blimey!

BexCinnamon · 24/09/2019 20:30

Ahh great advice!! Thanks @MamaPeas 😊

Yeah unfortunately still at work! Work in London in TV - start at 10 and finished literally 1 min ago 😴 no wonder I'm so tired at the mo 😂

Lilxcli · 24/09/2019 21:40

@BexCinnamon totally understand the anxiety and am in a similar boat as AF was predicted to start today! I'm not sure there is a good way to deal with it sadly but agree it's nice to share your experiences with people in the same boat. Also with you on the constipation!! I'm grateful I mostly work from home so don't blame you at all for being tired! Although have to go to Boston next week so will see how jet lag mixes with early pregnancy...

MamaPeas · 24/09/2019 22:08

Ooooo but Boston @Lilxcli, nice. Will you get time to do anything touristy or is it all work, work, work?

Lilxcli · 24/09/2019 22:21

@MamaPeas not this time unfortunately but our Head Office is there so I go fairly often and have been able to explore before - it's a great city!

AmyMaria2 · 25/09/2019 00:35

Can I join?.. after ttc baby number 1 for two years I got a positive test yesterday! Still in total shock but so so happy. Due date calculator says 5th June. Congratulations everyone x

Lilxcli · 25/09/2019 07:42

Congratulations @AmyMaria2 such great news and not surprised you're in shock after waiting so long! Smile

MamaPeas · 25/09/2019 07:56

Huge congrats @AmyMaria2, that's such lovely news.

LoveRainbow02 · 25/09/2019 08:08

Massive congrats @AmyMaria2! Excellent news x

AmyMaria2 · 25/09/2019 08:14

Thank you so much everyone! ❤️ really worried this morning as my lines aren't getting any darker😞 if it wasn't for the digital I wouldn't believe it!x

BexCinnamon · 25/09/2019 08:50

Guys the prospect of a sober Christmas has just dawned on me 😭🙈😂 how am I going to get through it?!!

BexCinnamon · 25/09/2019 09:00

@AmyMaria2 sorry I missed your post below - how long have you been testing for? I am the same, my lines aren't really getting darker but this morning I saw a small difference. I'm sure it'll come in time. Has AF due date been and gone?

MamaPeas · 25/09/2019 09:01

@AmyMaria2, it seems like lots of people are struggling seeing lines getting darker. Fingers crossed for everyone that it's just tests being a bit rubbish.

@BexCinnamon you'll be firmly second trimester by then. You can have a tiny taste of something on 25th I'm sure, not quite the same but a little rewards for awesome human growing.

Anny27 · 25/09/2019 09:08

Ahh thats such lovely news @amymaria2 :D

My lines only got darker 4 days after the first test. I am getting a lot of period like cramps which makes me slightly abxious but i know it is very normal

AmyMaria2 · 25/09/2019 10:24

Thanks, I hope they start to get darker soon! Will definitely reassure me. AF due tomorrow, I think everyone must feel super anxious until that's been (not turned up) and gone! x

Anny27 · 25/09/2019 10:29

@amymaria2 is your DH pleased as well? Think mine is in a bit of shock haha. Its pur first baby as well so i think the reality has set in 😂

Hey1256 · 25/09/2019 10:58

@Anny27 my husband is not anywhere as pleased as I was expecting.

He says he's happy about it, but after knowing him years I don't feel like he's genuine.

I think what's annoyed me a bit more is that he always said to me having kids is something he is adamant he wants in life and wants six - we are kid 30s so o tried telling him politely that would be impossible. In which case we may aim for three so figured we need to get cracking so I'm just a bit annoyed he's not as happy as I would have expected as it's something he apparently 'always wanted'.

Anyway maybe it's the initial shock of it all, but things better change!

Anny27 · 25/09/2019 12:54

@hey1256 i definitley think its a bit of a shock for them! I knew my husband would never be the emotional reactions that you always see in the videos of people twllung their other halfs haha.

Hows everyone feeling today? Didnt wake up nauseous this morning like i have done the previous days

AmyMaria2 · 25/09/2019 13:11

@Anny27 yeah DP is so happy, I think because we've been trying so long we are just both so excited but then maybe that's also why it doesnt seem to be sinking in at all! Just never thought it would happen, I'm seeing my consultant tomorrow and I think once she's confirmed it and booked my early scan I'll feel a lot better! X

Notnowokay · 25/09/2019 13:25

@58Hey1256 and 54Anny27 sometimes it takes a lot longer for men to really believe it. With dc1, dh was suprised and said he was excited about the baby. But one day after work at 30+ weeks it finally got real for him. Lool, it took him so long to fully comprehend what was happening. He just entered the home and he had to stop himself saying why is your hand on your stomach like a pregnant woman? He stopped halfway through that sentence and sat down and told me I was pregnant. I said yes, I am. He was in disbelief and finally had one of those rections you see on the videos. Yes, he had been to the 20 weeks scan (his dsis was sick and he took her to hospital late the night before 12 week scan so he missed out on that) felt baby movements, till took him till 30+ week for him to comprehend I was pregnant. Other men need to wait till after birth to realise this/ feel like the father they are.

Anny27 · 25/09/2019 13:36

@notnowokay wow thats really interesting! I Guess its our bodies so we have more of a realisation early on!

@AmyMaria2 thats good you are getting an early scan :D i am thinking of booking maybe an 8 week private scan
