Can't quite believe it but I've just taken a test this morning... Baby no.2 is on the way! According to the NHS due date calculator, I'm due on 1st June 2020.

We're both a bit surprised as we'd only just started "trying not trying" (very lucky, I know) and our first TTC journey was a bit of a rollercoaster. But yeah... Here we go! DD will have just turned 2 when they arrive. Terrifying but we're both very excited!

Anyone else also found out the same today?

@lemonysherbet ooh lovely! Glad little baby is okay :) i am having a scan next week when i will be 8+5 so hopefully they will be ableto do it externally - i will make sure to drink lots of water!!

Had a bit of a worry today because i didnt feel nauseous for the first time in a few weeks and was worried by symptoms were dissapearing. But a lot of women say they come and go

MissisBee · 19/10/2019 20:22

Aw lovely Lemonysherbet
@Anny27 my nausea definitely came and went last time. I panic-booked an early scan one day when I didn't feel as sick. Of course, as soon as I'd paid for it, the nausea came back with a vengeance. This time round, I'll definitely be making the most of the better days.

Anny27 · 19/10/2019 20:24

@missisBee thats really reassuring! I was in such a mood that i wasnt nauseous when i should have just been happy haha

Absa · 19/10/2019 20:55

Little confused, think I'm only a couple of weeks so thought I was probably looking at early / middle of July all going well. But went on NHS website earlier, put in date of last period and it predicted 26th June.

So do pregnancy weeks count the day from Day 1 of cycle I.e. first day of period?

MissisBee · 19/10/2019 21:00

Hi Absa
Medical convention is to date from 1st day of last period (although, can be adjusted if you have very short/long cycles)

sao81 · 19/10/2019 21:04

@absa You're classed as pregnant from first day of last period, so technically are pregnant two weeks before you even conceive! Which is madness, but thats how its calculated. Say you done a clearblue digi, that shows weeks from conception, so if it shows 2-3, it actually means 4-5 weeks. However, i calculated myself as 28th May, midwife calculated me as 27th May based on days bleeding/cycle length, but your official.due date is the one.given on 12 week scan xx

Absa · 19/10/2019 21:13

@MissisBee @sao81 thanks. Okay so technically 4+1 weeks then according to NHS. I have booking appointment 5th December which will be at 11 weeks. Is that OK? They offered earlier but I wasn't free and only seem to have 1 day per week.

sao81 · 19/10/2019 22:01

@absa as long as they can get you in for your dating scan before 14 weeks you should be fine! If you aren't free due to work, they legally have to give you paid time off for antenatal appointments so if thats the case you could go earlier and get that time off

MsBandBun · 19/10/2019 22:04

@Absa Did you book in for your first scan too? My clinic only has maternity staff 1 day a week so I am having to book time off work which isn't ideal - especially when trying to keep things shh.

Absa · 19/10/2019 22:25

@MsBandBun I don't know how you book for a dating scan? Assumed midwife would do this at booking scan. So if I'll be 11 weeks do you think they'll be able to book it in time. Yes work would give me time off earlier if necessary as they'd have to. It's just me being me - I have full clinics of patients and hate having to cancel people if not really necessary.

MsBandBun · 19/10/2019 22:28

@Absa I was just booked for both at the same time. Maybe cause I was 6 weeks when I phoned so it was easier to sort both together? I don't know. Maybe it's just different in different places?

Absa · 19/10/2019 22:31

@MsBandBun I'll call on Monday and see if they can do this and explain I'll be 11 weeks by booking appointment so want to get it booked in. If they can't then I'll maybe see if anyone would be able to cover my clinic.

MsChatterbox · 20/10/2019 05:52

@Absa my last pregnancy I had my booking appointment at 10 weeks and my dating scan was booked at that appointment for 13+4days x

mrssunshinexxx · 20/10/2019 07:55

@sao81 I know legally employer has to give time off for apps but it's tricky because I don't want to tell him until my 12 week scan so I'm gunna have to book 2 half days holiday and just suck It up? One for booking in app and one for 12 week scan after that any apps I will get without taking holiday hopefully xx

sao81 · 20/10/2019 08:10

@absa aah I completely understand, I work in an office so no real impact on anyone if I go off, I've just heard of some employers either not following policy or not wanting to. In my old job my boss rang the hospital to ask how long I'd be after I'd been bleeding and had an emergency scan 🤦‍♀️

@mrssunshinexxx you should definitely get any apps once you've told them, even if they ask you to do them at start/end of the day they still have to give you that time, as long as you have letters you'll be fine! Good thing is alot of letters have on there the time it takes, e.g. I have a diabetic screening around 28 weeks and letter states time, how long I'll be there etc so they don't think you'll be done straight away x

MsChatterbox · 20/10/2019 09:07

@mrssunshinexxx sorry didn't want to reply on the ttc thread with the af arrival! I'm quite starving too but mainly in the morning. Feel a little sick if I let myself get too hungry. I feel a bit of pressure there too. My main symptom has been heat flushes but they seem to be calming down a bit! Trying to enjoy the feeling OK whilst it lasts 🤣. Last time I just panicked and wished I was throwing up then regretted that when I was throwing up 8 times a day 😂😂

Anny27 · 20/10/2019 09:18

Morning ladies - i saw in another group that they sign off the end of their messages with their weeks snd days so every one would know how far along they are. I'm gonna give it a go smile.

Still not that nauseous this morning although i was a bit last night

8+0

TheLongestWait · 20/10/2019 09:40

Hi all, just found out I'm pregnant with our first baby last week! Estimated due date is 27th June so thought I'd jump on board.

I'd convinced myself that we would struggle to conceive (for no rational reason!) so when I half-heartedly did an IC test expecting it to be stark white, I was convinced it was a dodgy test when I saw a second line. But10 pregnancy tests later .. Blush.

I have a minor health condition which means I've already had bloods which have confirmed the pregnancy. I have to go back again next week and will be offered an early scan at 6wks if bloods indicate the pregnancy is progressing.

Not really experiencing many symptoms yet. I seem to be starving all the time, occasionally getting some mild cramps and a punching sensation and keep getting mild nausea around 4pm but nothing major yet.

Keeping everything crossed for healthy beans and pregnancies for everyone Smile

TheLongestWait · 20/10/2019 09:42

Pinching not punching Blush don't think a punching sensation would be a mild symptom! Grin

Absa · 20/10/2019 09:44

@TheLongestWait same date as me! 27th June. Well, for now until dating scan.

TheLongestWait · 20/10/2019 09:52

Do you have any symptoms yet absa? I expect my due date my alter slightly as I know I usually ovulate later in my cycle and didn't get a positive ovulation test until day 17. Which is also why I was so surprised to get a positive pregnancy test on day 29! So it's still very early days for me and not getting my hopes up too much yet.

MsChatterbox · 20/10/2019 10:02

@thelongestwait @absa same due date as me too 😁

Absa · 20/10/2019 10:32

Ah yay @MsChatterbox !
@TheLongestWait I think I am exactly the same as you - previous months when I've done OPKs I've O'd day 18 or 19. This month I didn't test as we were away. So I think I'm probably a few days later than the NHS prediction as well. So am also on the July thread!
I don't think I have any symptoms really except I've had an achy back yesterday and today but then again I did gardening yesterday so probably that. And yesterday I felt "off" just not quite right but have put o that down to vitamin tablet. So answer is probably no!
How about you? & @MsChatterbox ?

Absa · 20/10/2019 10:35

I do keep wanting to / actually doing a test though to keep checking it's still there. I only get faint positives but it's def there and I figure it will get stronger. And have no spotting or bleeding so AF is def late late now.

Bikbikmum · 20/10/2019 10:37

Hi ladies :) I have the test last night and I am positive. Due date is 28th June.. I am still in shock and very happy, now I need to find out about hospitals and self referrals.. I am around Potters Bar area and need to figure out work as well. Scary.
