@HJWT not just you who gets differant info from each consultant then!I was told with baby weighing small at one scan...She could poss come early...34/36 weeks if no or little growth and even if she grows well she wanted to do my csection at 38 weeks as it's my 4th & high risk and she would want me monitored for the rest of the pregnancy with 2 weekly growth scans...34 week scan showed shes gained well & gone onto centile lines...So the Male consultant I saw on that day said.Nope I'm happy with this growth. No need for more scans. And I'm happy to section at 39 weeks! 🤷‍♀️ I'm obviously happy theres no worrys...but then I'm worried theres 2 very differant opinions...Its a hard one isnt it.You set your heart on what they say...for it all to be changed at one appointment...X

kmammamalto · 19/09/2019 18:18

@slinkyreptile we are due date buddies!

Slinkyreptile · 19/09/2019 19:19

@Frizzy1986 that’s really good to know about the head might not engage until labour. I’m desperate for cramping to start. It’s bad when you are wishing you were in pain Grin

@cattaxi - the thought of ending up needing a section terrifies me. Given that my DD was vaginal I’m really hoping to go naturally as then I know what I’m dealing with

@kmammamalto - awww lovely. How are things progressing for you? Is this your first baby? This is 2nd for me. DD was born 36+2 and I’m currently 36+4 with a boy this time. Just desperate to get him out now lol

CarysRed · 19/09/2019 19:22

I’m starting to get some bad cramping around my back and a lot of discharge (sorry TMO), I’m only 34+1, is this normal?

HJWT · 19/09/2019 19:43

@Cantthinkofanameeee Yes exactly ! He didn't even let me voice my opinion on why I want to be induced! We have one person who can watch DD and my DM is raising 3 GC so may not be able to get someone to watch them last minute, my last midwife left me alone the whole time and I am PETRIFIED of being along in the delivery room 😢 DH will tell them that next time though & if they still insist I wait till nearly 42 weeks ill tell them if it comes to it I will have a home birth, which isn't a good idea after my PPH last time 🤔 but I cant do it alone!

Omg missed so much! Nice to meet everyone on the new thread :)

Congrats on your baby 2018! How exciting you can have your mummy cuddles now ❤❤

I wonder... is 2018's baby the first of the October 2019 gang??

YorkshireIndie · 19/09/2019 20:24

@HJWT sounds like a good idea to bring your husband along to your next appointment.

Just found out the transfer rate from the midwife lead until to the local hospital and it is 70% for first time mums so still plan to deliver at my local hospital but go to the midwife lead unit if I progress fast. 'Tis house packing day tomorrow

HJWT · 19/09/2019 20:36

@SunshineSophia No it was @Rememberallball who had her twin boys first hun ☺️ xx

Em39ma · 19/09/2019 20:47

@HJWT I have the same problem with the consultants.
We have said not being messed around anymore. When we go Tuesday we are telling them that and want the plan they keep promising us.
There needs to be some thought on consistent care, all this one said something and another something else is wrong.

SunshineSophia · 19/09/2019 20:51

@HJWT oh yes, I remember now. Thanks! :)

I wonder who will be next...? :P

SunshineSophia · 19/09/2019 20:53

Whoops, hit post before I finished typing.

It's my last day at work tomorrow - can't wait to finally put my feet up! My feet and ankles are the size of bricks and my back is sooooo painful 😭

@angelo how's it been recently with your MIL?

cattaxi · 19/09/2019 20:59

How is everyone tonight? I’m sore & uncomfortable. I’m not sure that lugging all that stuff down from the attic wasn’t my best idea. My bump is very sore and i’ve got round ligament pains when I stand. Not fun!

@secretlyhermione, I’m sure you will be fine until after the wedding. We’ve got a wedding on Saturday - I really hope nothing happens before then as my mum is currently on holiday & she’s our childcare.

@HJWT not feeling listened to is so frustrating. I hope your next appointment is better.

@MrsNotNice That must be a worry for you. Im sure they wouldn’t be taking any risks given your history.

My nose is constantly blocked @Em39ma. And I get loads of random nosebleeds. Another joyous symptom that I can’t wait to be over!

@Cantthinkofanameeee hyperemesis is so shit. I also got better around the 1/2 way mark, only for it to ramp up again about 32 weeks. I’m back on medication now and it’s under control.
But yes, they are so worth it! I’m so glad we decided to go fo for it.

@Slinkyreptile it’s the fear of the unknown I suppose. If you’ve had one successful vaginal delivery, your chances of having a second are statistically good. You will be fine, whatever happens. We both will!

MajorFaffington · 19/09/2019 21:02

Hello everyone, I am a bit late to the party but would love to join in!

I am due on 28th October so it still feels like quite a way away, even though it’s next month now! Anyone else due right at the end of October?

My first was 10 days overdue so I reckon this may be a November baby after all anyway!

Frizzy1986 · 19/09/2019 21:05

@sunshinesophia definitely not feeling it will be me.
Think I'm one of the earliest due dates (1st Oct) but there are some planned inductions and possible inductions due before then I think. Plus I'm expecting to go to at least 41 weeks so I'm predicting I'll be around 8th October.
Wonder how close my guess will be!

Braxton hicks and acid reflux are killing me tonight. No pain but bloody annoying. Checked out cinema options tomorrow and still rubbish so that'll be another day at home.

CarysRed · 19/09/2019 21:14

@MajorFaffington I’m due on the 30th! It feels ages away

newbabyyy2019 · 19/09/2019 21:20

Welcome to all the new ladies on this thread!!
I've been trying to get everything sorted in the house ready for the babies arrival but I keep finding more and more things that need doing. It's never ending!!
I put the stand together for the Moses basket earlier which I'm going to keep downstairs and DP will put the next to me crib up tomorrow in the bedroom. It's all starting to feel very real that this baby is coming very soon 🙈 There was even the mention of car cleaning from the DP earlier so it must definitely be a male nesting thing 😂
@SunshineSophia I'm hoping it will be me next! I'm being induced on Sunday morning and I am really starting to brick it.. It's my first baby so I have absolutely no idea what to expect 😩 (apart from all the baby delivery programmes I've been watching) which probably isn't a good idea lol.
Anyone else been watching one born and Emma Willis delivering babies during their pregnancies? I love watching them even though some of the births look terrifying 😣

SunshineSophia · 19/09/2019 21:35

@newbabyyy2019 ditto the male nesting! Been harassing DH for weeks now to put furniture up but he's resisted saying it's too soon. He came home yesterday with a list of jobs for me to get the room ready for baby and started asking how to arrange the furniture?! I couldn't believe it! Think it's finally hit him that a baby will be joining us very soon!

Also, @newbabyyy2019 wow on being induced on Sunday! You'll get to meet bubs soon! 🥰

@Frizzy1986 what makes you think you'll go to 41 weeks? I'm due on the 9th 😊

I'm really getting fed up of the bump now - it's just constantly in the way, and I'm so over my swollen feet, backache and hip pain 😭 I'm ready to meet baby now!!! I'm so impatient so sod's law means I'll probably go overdue and suffer for longer 😭😭😭😭

Officially I'm due in 3 weeks, but I'm so worried I'm going over I've started adding an extra 2 weeks to my due date just so I don't get my hopes up 🙃🙃🙃🙃

Frizzy1986 · 19/09/2019 21:46

@sunshinesophia I predict I'll go over as I've had no signs yet at all and dd arrived 37+4 so nice and early and unexpected so I wasn't left waiting.
Sods law says this time I'll be left waiting as payback for last time being earlier.

SunshineSophia · 19/09/2019 21:53

@Frizzy1986 ah gotcha - tho tbh there's still a bit of time to go... things might ramp up close to tour due date 🙂

Not sure if this was a sign but I a did a very interesting split / squat thing about a week ago then (sorry TMI) found what I think was a bit of mucus plug in my knickers - clear and jelly-like. I haven't really taken it as a sign of anything other than I should probably stop squatting down to reach things (though I'm actually finding it very difficult to do anything at all that isnt laying...)

MajorFaffington · 19/09/2019 22:15

@CarysRed It really does, but I am hoping once we’re in October it will fly by!

Figuringitout · 19/09/2019 22:32

I’m ‘officially’ due Sept 30th, but my dates make it Oct 1st.. my other two have been on time and 5 days early - and kind of hoping this one follows the same pattern. Although, I still have loose ends to tie up and work and have done nothing towards getting the house/ room sorted for the baby so also half hoping it hangs on for a bit. Plus there’s a big family party on the weekend of the 5th/6th and I know my mum is hoping she will be able to show the baby off - but part of me hopes to still be pregnant as it will be easier to manage!
So, conflicting feelings. I also had some hysterical laughter - which then turned into tears earlier when I was talking to DH about how much life is about to change! Bloody hormones! Although I do (strangely maybe) feel more anxious about the birth/newborn phase this time around.

Frizzy1986 · 19/09/2019 22:34

@sunshinesophia ooo mucus plug. It's a good start. I've had loads of discharge the past week or 2 but that's all.
I've eaten too much cake today though and along with the acid reflux and burping, I've had a few instances of vomit coming up. My own fault though

MrsNotNice · 20/09/2019 00:14

Frizzy1986

Ahh forgot about Sod’s law. My son was born 37+5 and I was unrealistically counting on my luck again (even though I’m few days away and not ready so was hoping to push my luck further by a week lol).

Em39ma · 20/09/2019 03:08

@cattaxi my nose has been ok until now. I’m on antihistamine all the time due to my allergies, but I did read something earlier in the week that is the week all the fungi spores are released. That might be what’s happening in my case.
I awake again, even made myself stay awake all day in the hope maybe I would sleep, but nope.

SRK16 · 20/09/2019 04:15

@Em39ma I feel your pain re sleeping. I woke up just before 2 and haven’t managed to drift off again. If anything I feel more awake! Can’t get comfy, acid driving me nuts.
