@SC0508 You think your bad! DD was in the next room the other night and I got emotional at 3AM because I missed her 🤣

Well started my second day of gel. First dose in at 8am. No contractions over night.
So plan at the moment is, gel every six hours again today, hopefully it works. Then break waters and drip.
If doesn’t work, balloon catheter to stretch the cervix into thinking it’s dilating, again break waters and drip.
If that doesn’t work, can go home or have a section.

HJWT · 05/10/2019 11:07

@Em39ma what was the reason for induction again? Sorry there is so many of us I can't remember! What do you think you will chose if nothing happens? Really hope she gets a move on for you 🤞🏻

Em39ma · 05/10/2019 11:56

I’ve got poly, too much water and SPD.
All of it together makes me very uncomfortable. And I’m old too

Figuringitout · 05/10/2019 14:18

@Em39ma - really hope today gets things moving for you. Come on baby girl!
Thanks for kind words and congratulations- Ada’s sisters are totally besotted with her and were amazed to find her in her crib this morning. Had a very snoozy, snuggly day! Smile

Em39ma · 05/10/2019 14:51

No change at the moment. Just had a high dose of gel again. Normally have 2mg and two lots of 1mg, so three over the day. Trying 2 high doses to see if that gets anything moving.

Positivity86 · 05/10/2019 15:59

Best of luck @Em39ma!

Is anyone else having sharp shooting pains down below (aka fanny daggers 😂). They've been intense today, every time I try and take a few steps! I'm 37+3. Maybe baby's head is engaging further?

secretlyhermione · 05/10/2019 16:02

@Positivity86 yep me! Went for a walk this morning with DP and it was quite uncomfortable!

SC0508 · 05/10/2019 16:36

I think nesting has hit me today, just cleaned my whole flat and moved sofas to clean underneath 😂 think I may regret it later when my body starts to ache!

Now going to venture out with DS and dog for a walk, not sure where all this energy has come from today!

Hopefully means things are gonna get moving soon 😂

namechanged1455 · 05/10/2019 17:00

@SC0508 send some energy my way please!!

I feel like death today, so exhausted! The house is a sh.t hole and I HAVE to clean before Tuesday when the new sofa gets here 🙄

MrsNotNice · 05/10/2019 19:25

Em39ma good luck I really hope it works out for you very soon. Try relax and think of relaxing things no matter how hard it is. Stress alone delays labour. So I was told.

@Positivity86 I had those shooting pains yesterday and I was sure I’m going into labour but nothing happened. Now I feel fit and normal. I somehow am scared of going over my due date but even though I have one week left I actually don’t feel ready for labour to come. I don’t know what I actually want. I’ve literally made plans for next week!! Signed up to a course. I’m living in total denial.

@SC0508 well done! I’m progressing through my to do list but again I feel like my focus is totally on my toddler I’ve been getting soooooooo creative with signing him up for things and sorting out his toys and books. Doing all the things I’ve been putting off for a while and turned our house into a live in nursery for him I’m impressed... but now I need to focus on my priorities and stop living in denial!!

I think I need to prepare my postpartum box first for now so I break that mental barrier about tearing and swelling and stack up my toiletry supplies.

And to iron my newborn baby items Blush still far on that one!. As well as preparing my nursing station next to the bed!

HarryHarry · 05/10/2019 19:55

@Positivity86 Yes to serious fanny daggers! The pain is actually really intense when it happens - often while I’m driving! Didn’t happen with my first baby.

I had a completely random panic attack yesterday - full-on hyperventilating - which has never happened to me before. I didn’t think I was particularly stressed or anxious but I suppose I must be. My C-section is now only 2 days away!

Today I’ve been getting all the last-minute things done. I had the sudden urge to have a huge clear out so I’ve been taking lots of stuff to the charity shop.

Positivity86 · 05/10/2019 21:38

@HarryHarry wow only 2 days until you meet your baby, so exciting! I sympathise with the panic attack poor you, I've only had one before (in very early pregnancy) and they are scary and can come from nowhere. I hope all goes well for you 😊

cattaxi · 05/10/2019 21:45

Hope everyone has had a good day? I’ve been on a massive mission. Washed, dried and put away everything from the laundry basket because I’m massively paranoid I’ll go into labour unexpectedly & no one will find school uniforms for the kids. (Disclaimer - dh is actually amazing around the house - but washing is one of my jobs and, although I know he’d be fine, I want to minimise stress!)
I also had a big clear out of ds’ toys to make some room for baby stuff in the living room storage. He was so helpful, bless him. Then I gave the main bathroom a good scrub.
Sounds like I’m not the only one nesting @HarryHarry & @sc0508!

@HJWT the sonogropher said to me that her estimates are very accurate when she told me ds was almost 9lbs at 38 weeks. He came out at 41 weeks, weighing 7.9 😂

@SC0508 I keep worrying about ds too. Especially having to leave him overnight for my section. I’ve hardly ever been away from him, and never for more than a night.
I tired to talk to him today about the possibility of me needing to stay in hospital a while. He gave me a bit of a pitiful look and said “don’t worry, I’ll face time you lots!” I think he was quite excited at that prospect!

Hope your visit with your parents went well @Frizzy1986. and great that Orson slept a bit last night. Hope you feel ok. I was very emotional when my milk came in last time.

I hope things are moving along smoothly for you @Em39ma. Been thinking of you all day.

Sounds like a lovely day @Figuringitout. What an amazing surprise for your girls this morning.

Intrigued about what you are going to put in your postpartum box and nursing station @MrsNotNice? That’s the kind of stuff I want to get together this week. All I remember from last time is arnica for Swelling & endless drinks for the feeding thirst.

I’m torn between feeling jealous of those of you having fanny daggers, as they sound quite promising; and not wanting them, or anything else to happen before my section date.

YorkshireIndie · 05/10/2019 21:52

@Figuringitout congratulations! She is a beauty!

Been a busy day. Spent the morning with my grandmother, did a mini first aid course (can not recommend it too much - they come to your house and it costs £20 per person for a two hour course), went and visited friends and then had a meal out with OH. Been having fanny dangers all day so hoping that means that baby is not engaged. Seems I was wrong about baby being here in 24hrs. My need to nest is non existent- well until tomorrow 😉

MrsNotNice · 05/10/2019 22:52

@cattaxi

So I need to find my list from last pregnancy which worked well, but from memory:

Postpartum box (located in toilet):

  • maternity pads
  • maternity mat
  • large knickers
  • witch hazel/ haemorrhoid medicines
  • Betadine antiseptic
  • squeezy water bottle for reducing sting in urine the first few days
  • stool softener/ milk laxative
  • some nursing pads
  • Padsickles (in the freezer).
  • some pain relief
  • some wash cloths (apparently pressing on the perineium with warm compress while pooping helps you feel safer about not ripping yourself apart).
  • stretchmark cream/biooil to apply
  • belly binder wrap thing/ I just use a large scarf which I already have.
  • doughnut inflatable cushion (well this will be taken around with me).
  • Ice packs to put in the hole of the doughnut (they’re Gona he kept in the freezer though)

Nursing station (will have the bulk in my bedside cabinet but a portable basket with daily essentials)

  • nursing pads
  • nursing cover
  • nipple Shield
  • entertainment for toddler while breastfeeding (book, colouring, threading and beads...)
  • coconut oil/massager
  • nipple cream /lanolin
  • lip balm
  • hair clips
  • reusable water bottle
  • pregnacare tablets
  • manual/electric pump for the other leaking breast
  • wipes for cleaning up after end of session
  • wrist band for marking
  • Muslins and wash cloths for burping
  • portable nappy changing extras (nappy,
  • breastfeeding snacks (cereal bars, peanuts...)
  • glove filled with rice for unblocking milk ducts by heating in microwave
  • breastfeeding cushion
  • entertainment for me (iPad, notepad and pen, booo to read, mirror/facial products/nail care/comb/dry shampoo!...)
  • baby grooming ( comb, nail clippers, accessories).
  • baby first aid (calpol, thermometer, teething powder (for later))
  • soother if necessary or Sophie the giraffe

Lactation inducing foods: (in a basket in the kitchen)
————————————

  • lactation cookies - in the freezer (made of dates and peanut butter).
  • thermal cup
  • porridge, flax seeds, black seeds
  • almonds
  • fenugreek tea (I avoid this unless necessary).

nursing clothing (in a basket in my closet)
————————-

  • nursing bras
  • low cut tops/dresses

Thanks for that! Now you got me to plan for it I feel the job is half done lol.

YorkshireIndie · 06/10/2019 00:04

Setting up my post on the wide awake club. Think I sleep worse it I have not been able to rest during the day

Em39ma · 06/10/2019 01:25

Having contractions every 2/5 minutes but not dilating at all. Cervix is still pointing backwards.
The doctor really hurt me finding that out😭🤬🥺
Going to check again in the morning. If they can break my waters they will, but have put me as Nil by Mouth as they think I’m probably going to need a c section.

HarryHarry · 06/10/2019 02:04

@Em39ma Sorry to hear you’re having such a tough time - that’s exactly what happened to me last time. Hopefully you will have your baby with you soon.

Em39ma · 06/10/2019 07:49

Looks like I’m going down for a c section.
Just waiting on confirmation from the doctor. Contractions were on and off through night.

SC0508 · 06/10/2019 08:05

@Em39ma good luck today! Hopefully today is the day you get to meet your baby 😀

Figuringitout · 06/10/2019 08:43

@Em39ma - good luck. Hope you are cuddling your girl very soon.
I was a member of the wide awake club, but for a very different reason! Ada decided to be awake and feed all night - I’m going back to bed now she is asleep!
Wishing you all a calm and relaxing Sunday - and hopefully a few more babies will join the fold!

Maryrobinson81 · 06/10/2019 08:57

Will be thinking of you @Em39ma

@figuringitout, oh those all nighter cluster feeds!
Hope everyone has a good day!

HJWT · 06/10/2019 09:07

@Em39ma Thinking of you hun! What a long process hopefully will all be worth it within the next couple of hours 💝💐 xx
