@Frizzy1986 sorry I dont have anything to say in terms of advice other than you wont be doing anything wrong, not now and not then. Please dont beat yourself up about it.

secretlyhermione · 04/10/2019 18:50

@Figuringitout you're close now! How many weeks are you? I have my midwife appointment on Monday so very curious to hear what she says. I'm hoping I've dilated a little but highly doubt it as apart from the very few symptoms already mentioned baby feels pretty happy in there :D

HarryHarry · 04/10/2019 18:58

@Figuringitout Lucky you! I’m nearly 40 weeks and still all closed up!

Em39ma · 04/10/2019 20:28

There doing my last monitor at 10, I have the whole ward to myself so I can watch tv and listen to spoken overnight without earphones which means I hopefully should sleep.
Otherwise, the odd cramp and contraction, but pretty much nothing. Will start all over again at 7am.

Maryrobinson81 · 04/10/2019 21:16

Hope you have a restful night @Em39ma and things get going for you in the morning.

cattaxi · 04/10/2019 21:32

How is everyone tonight? I’m having the odd period type pain & lower back ache. Not sure if it’s wind, discomfort from sitting, or something else! I never had a twinge with ds until they put me on the drip, despite my waters having gone for 2 days! I’m never going to sleep tonight if it carries on.

Hope you are feeling better tonight @MrsNotNice? Did you get yourself checked out?

I’m constantly hungry @maryrobinson81. I’m being sick a lot, but my appetite isn’t affected at all 🐷 more and more stuff is giving me heartburn though, so I’m finding it hard to know what to eat other than digestives!

@HJWT I think we’re on course to have our babies around the same time. My c-section is in 10 days. Eeek!
What’s the big baby trial?

@Frizzy1986 can you ask the midwife to see him if you are worried? My sisters little one was 37 weeks and had some jaundice after getting home. They advised her to get her in as much daylight as possible & to wake often to feed.
you are not doing anything wrong! It’s just one of those things. Be kind to yourself 💐

That all sounds very promising @Figuringitout. Crossing everything for a swift and smooth arrival in the next few days.

Hope you manage a good sleep tonight @Em39ma. Tomorrow may well be the day you get to meet your little one 😍

MrsNotNice · 04/10/2019 22:12

cattaxi

That sounds really promising !!! Get some sleep before it kicks off tonight I heard labour hormones intensify at night ! Don’t know how true it is but it was for my first.

I did indeed go to maternity assesssment unit today and they ruled out any pre eclampsia thankfully. Was just one of those odd days.

I managed to book myself some counselling for anxiety. Hurray. I thought I’d get the ball rolling just in case I needed it after delivery and perhaps the counsellor can speak to me before any hormones kick in so that they can hear the voice of reason before I turn into a mess— hopefully not. Not meaning to be pessimistic, I just have a bit of overwhelming events following on from the birth which I know I will find overwhelming so I want to have an option for some support. It’s making me feel stronger!

I also made lots of progress in tidying up the nursery and the baby toys/books wohooo.

cattaxi · 04/10/2019 22:18

@mrsNotNice noooo! I have a section booked, so I don’t want this to be labour. It’s hard not to obsess over it though.
Booking the counselling sounds like a really sensible thing to do. Looking after our mental health is so important, especially at such a vulnerable time as having a new baby. You should be proud of yourself for being proactive. It’s the best way!

Slinkyreptile · 04/10/2019 22:44

@Em39ma sorry that it is dragging on a bit for you, hope we hear some news soon

@Frizzy1986 please don’t beat yourself up! You are doing a fab job

@secretlyhermione I was 38 + 2 this time and 36 + 2 with DD. My mum never got past 36 weeks with myself and both my brothers so 38 weeks was quite a shock for us lol

YorkshireIndie · 04/10/2019 23:04

Right I am going to call it. I think this baby is going to come in the next 24hrs. I just had the overwhelming need to make up the cot. Up to now the mattress has been kept in the plastic wrap it came in and a dumping ground for everything. It is now sheeted up with the new blanket I brought this week

Frizzy1986 · 04/10/2019 23:32

@YorkshireIndie fingers crossed your premonition comes true!!

Thanks for your supportive words everyone. They have made me feel a lot better.
Feeling very achy downstairs tonight so really hope that Orson has at least some sleep in his crib so I can lie down and not spend the whole night sat on my lady bits.

SC0508 · 04/10/2019 23:36

@YorkshireIndie hopefully it's a sign for you 😀

I am feeling so fed up today, I just want this baby out now 😂 fed up of being woken at 3am to pains that result in nothing 🙁. Everyday I keep thinking is today going to be the day 😂 DS is with my parents tonight so ideally it would be the perfect night for him to arrive but I have a feeling I am in it for the long haul.

Figuringitout · 05/10/2019 01:03

Ada Frances - born at 10.40pm. 8lb 11, born in water and no stitches or grazes! Grin Just waiting to take her home to meet her sisters!

HarryHarry · 05/10/2019 01:20

Congratulations!!!

SC0508 · 05/10/2019 02:21

@Figuringitout huge congratulations 🎉 enjoy those baby cuddles 💞

Frizzy1986 · 05/10/2019 02:36

@figuringitout massive congratulations. Rather jealous of no stitches or grazes! Wow!

HJWT · 05/10/2019 03:59

@Figuringitout Aw what a little beauty! Congratulation and well done mummy! 😁 Also jealous of no stitches haha xx

@SC0508 I know how you feel! DD has woken me up again! Every night at 3AM, its like having a baby! And my uterus is so stretched at this point its constantly painful 😥

@Frizzy1986 have you tried spritz for bits? Or similar.. also freezer pads are meant to be good. DD gad jaundice and I had to express & give her a bottle to help her not end up back in the hospital, was very close though. I think its a lot harder with autumn/winter babes because there is never any sun!!

@Em39ma oh no, at least your comfortable and no one around to bother you! Especially screaming babies! Hopefully things get moving today and it will all have been worth it for a quick labour 😁

@cattaxi Big baby trial is were if your baby is measuring big and you agree to be on it then its 50/50 whether they will induce you at 38-38+4 OR let you go naturally then they see what happens in each woman's labour and collect the data, they offer it to you AFTER the horror stories though chance of haemorrhage, baby having shoulder dysplasia, emergency C-section or episiotomy due to baby size so I was like NO THANKS 😂 he is measuring 8LB 3 already, imagine if I went another 3-4 weeks!

Anyway, I ate so much food yesterday I was stuffed to the brim when I went to bed HOW is it possible to feel starving hungry 🙄

Em39ma · 05/10/2019 04:20

Well actually slept for 4 hours straight, yay for me.
@Figuringitout she is beautiful, hope she can now persuade mine to come, we need another girl on the outside.
38 weeks today, so she is more than ready or I should say I’m more than ready she is quite comfortable.

Slinkyreptile · 05/10/2019 06:13

@Figuringitout woohoo 🙌 congratulations, she is beautiful 😍😍 fab weight too. Time to join the comfortable napping club haha

cattaxi · 05/10/2019 07:45

No more cramps for me last night! Phew! I did have the best sleep I’ve had in ages. I think I only got up for one wee. Hallelujah! DJ has taken ds downstairs, so I’m going to try to go back to sleep for a bit.

Oh wow! Congratulations @figuringitout! She’s adorable!

That sounds interesting @hjwt. Our experience of growth scans were that they were very wrong. A lot of my mates have had similar. It will be interesting to see what the trial finds.

Hope you get some progress today @em39ma.

Positivity86 · 05/10/2019 08:34

@Figuringitout yay congratulations! She is beautiful 💞

HJWT · 05/10/2019 08:42

@cattaxi well they told me DD was 6LB 2 and 2 weeks later she came out at 8LB 9!! So that was defo not accurate 😂 but going of her weight this last scan for baby#2 seems pretty accurate x

secretlyhermione · 05/10/2019 08:48

@Figuringitout how exciting congratulations!!

SC0508 · 05/10/2019 08:51

How's everyone doing today?

I had the worst sleep, kept wakening up thinking about DS and if he's ok! He was staying with my parents like he does most Fridays but last night my body just kept worrying about him. Woke up at one point crying that I missed him so much even though it was 4am 😂 my emotions are running very high at the moment what will make me cry next 😂.

Frizzy1986 · 05/10/2019 09:11

@SC0508 I think that's really sweet, if not frustrating though. Sometimes, when you know life is about to change dramatically, you want to make sure that you have as much time as you can enjoying the now.

Orson actually slept last night which is good and my milk is coming in (which is good and bad)
I'm trying to decide if my chest feels tight or if it's my nursing bras (which I think are too tight!)
My feet are swollen too but midwife said she'd only be concerned if it was just one foot/ankle but mine are both (one a bit bigger than the other, but same as during pregnancy)
Midwife is back tomorrow though and I'll have some rest time today as my parents are visiting for the weekend ☺
Their first visit to meet dd didn't go to plan so hopefully nothing is going to rear its ugly head today to ruin this one.
