@Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy If I were you id just reply "no baby yet, I will be letting everyone know once he is here so don't worry" maybe they will get the hint xx

Iv not had any texts at all maybe I'm lucky but then again it means no one actually gives a sh.t 😂

@Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy seriously. People calling. What the hell! I think people are rather rude and surely they know that you'll tell them when baby arrives.
Sadly people feel they are entitled to make whatever comments they want like you are some kind of property or something. I've not had anything today which is good.

Still getting achey tightenings around every 8-10mins. A few have taken my breath away a little and I do have to breath through them. So fits with what happened last time.

Told dh how it's going (after telling him this morning that I thought things were starting as I was getting some pains and the blood etc) and he called and was like, "what are you having contractions. You didn't say that this morning" Not sure what he thought the pains I mentioned were.
Now I'm in the dilemma of do I get him to come home from work in anticipation? It could suddenly all stop or not progress further etc.

He's spoken to his parents and they've said they will do whatever we want. I think I'm going to wash the sheets in case they stay here. Dh started saying if it's in the night they'll come to us and I was like, there might not be time. They live 20 mins from us and we are about 25 from the hospital so when we finally decide to go thats 45 mins wasted plus them getting up/dressed and in the car.
I assumed (and thought we had discussed it) that when we thought things were getting closer, dd would go to theirs and stay, then we wouldn't have to worry about logistics. Now it's all up in the air though so I need to not let myself get stressed about it as need to stay relaxed as possible. Need to let dh be in charge of it and focus on myself.

Figuringitout · 01/10/2019 13:29

@Frizzy1986 - sounds promising. It also does sound easier for DD to go to MILs and it sounds like they would be happy for her to go. I think maybe spell out to DH what you envisage as you are the most important person in this and you being calm and relaxed is what matters.
If it was me I would be asking DH to come home - him being there might make you feel safe and help things to progress. You might end up being one of the 5% who delivers on their due date!!
Fingers crossed - will be thinking of you

Frizzy1986 · 01/10/2019 13:36

@figuringitout dh has just said it takes him 30 mins in current traffic so to let him know what I want to do. I've tried to explain that I don't know how far off we are. Could still be days away. I'm going to give it another 20-30 mins and if they are still coming get him to come home, just in case.
Watch them stop now, or as soon as he walks in the door!

YorkshireIndie · 01/10/2019 13:38

@Frizzy1986 I will keep my fingers crossed. It is looking promising

@Figuringitout yes to naps and Netflix. My problem is that I fall asleep mid way through something and have to figure out where I have got to. The dogs are liking this set up as it means they can sleep on the bed with me

@Slinkyreptile We have another car thankfully but I know that my parents or sister would help out if needed

Finally decided I need actual shoes not just wear flip flops or sandals but the only shoe I can fit into are men's sketchers - which are ugly as sin

Can not believe it is October!!! Where did this month go?

SC0508 · 01/10/2019 14:50

How's everyone's day going?

I went back to bed after nipping to Mothercare just to relax and get comfy, woke up 3hrs later 😂 oops really didn't mean to nap.
Went straight to fridge once I woke up duno what it is today but all I have done is eat and the hunger still won't budge ☹️

Definitely going to have the mums at school wondering if I am in labour today as DS grandad decided he wanted to drop off and pick up DS from school today 😂 dreading the chats tomorrow

Slinkyreptile · 01/10/2019 14:56

@Frizzy1986 with the contractions happening so often and going on as long as they are I would defo get DH to come home! Especially it not being your first, I’ve been told things can move a lot quicker. The last thing you need is more stress added in what is already a stressful situation for any woman! Focus on you and let DH and MIL sort out DD, that’s what they are there for... to support you as much as they can 😊

@YorkshireIndie aw glad to hear you have a good support network, makes all the difference. Unless it’s peeing down with rain I would personally just stick to the sandals/flip flops while you are getting away with it 😂

I’m currently down to my last 2 pairs of maternity leggings, both of which have small holes in them and also bleach stained tops. It’s the only thing that fits and I refuse to buy new clothes for all the time I have left lol

@Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy I agree with @HJWT, sometimes you need to be blunt and give people the hint! I’ve also had the ‘typical boy’ comments, even from complete strangers when they ask how far along I am etc. Pregnancy hormones don’t help either!

HJWT · 01/10/2019 15:17

@Frizzy1986 Hoping no news is good news 🤞🏻 xx

Frizzy1986

So excited for u! Good luck!! I’m assuming as it’s your second it won’t take days.

I’m not sure how far along my labour is but I’m proper in nesting mode and I feel like I need few days to finish everything as I’ve been a slob for a while and keep sleeping.

I made a toy heaven for DS as I’m letting my mum guilt take over and I want to create as many distractions as possible for him so when baby comes he doesn’t feel neglected.

But the more work I put in the house the more I realize I still have a lot to do. I’m going to make him some home made play dough now for the first time keep it for afternoon birth.

Still haven’t managed to prepare anything for my aftercare and breastfeeding. But hopefully will get there!

MrsNotNice · 01/10/2019 16:39

how far away , hasn’t started yet!

YorkshireIndie · 01/10/2019 18:00

@Slinkyreptile I feel your pain. Currently surviving on two pairs of leggings. Had to wear non maternity leggings yesterday as both pairs were in the wash at the same time 😫

cattaxi · 01/10/2019 18:58

Busy thread today! I’ve had a nice day. Met a friend for a lovely lunch & catch up. Did some craft with ds after school. I made a lovely chicken casserole that both the 4 & 14 year old refused to eat, so I guess The leftovers mean I’ve started some batch cooking for post baby.
I’m so tired now though - my hips really start to ache at this time of day.

@Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy - the messages sound really intrusive. Maybe answer with a very passive aggressive “I’ve not had time to have the baby yet - too busy answering texts from people asking if there is any news!”

Hope you are ok @Frizzy1986!

@YorkshireIndie I put my trainers on for the first time yesterday - I’ve been in flip flops since about April. My feet must be swollen as I ended up with really painful blisters. I could hardly walk between them & my waddle. I attracted a few funny looks in town. I’m back in flip flops now for the next 2 weeks.

@Slinkyreptile & @yorkshireindie I am quickly running out of clothes that fit my bump now too!

Right - I need to muster up the energy to wrestle ds to bed. He’s so tired & grumpy. It’s going to be a battle 🙄

homley · 01/10/2019 19:23

Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies, I haven't been on in around 3-4 weeks so have missed so much!!

Currently 38+5 have been having tightening and pelvic pain over the last few weeks. Back to see the consultant and for a scan on friday, so hopefully all still ok.
Last growth scan showed baby had biliary sludge but apparently the prognosis is positive so fingers crossed things arent worse this week!
Had a few moments of wondering 'is this it' but no sign of baby yet.
Hope everyone else is ok :)

SC0508 · 01/10/2019 19:35

Has hit me tonight that I am 37 weeks tomorrow and it could happen any day. Now panicking that I haven't got everything ready! Finished setting up Moses basket tonight and have sorted most of babies clothes (I think) 😂.
When did everyone build their pram/swing etc?

HJWT · 01/10/2019 20:07

Anyone else patiently wait for an update from @Frizzy1986 to give us all hope of going into labour before due date 😁😁😁

OP posts:
SunshineSophia · 01/10/2019 20:23

@HJWT yes! Patiently waiting to hear from Frizzy 😊

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow but honestly have had zero signs this baby wants to come out. I've now added the 2 extra weeks to my due date as I'm certain I'm going to go overdue. So instead of baby being here in a week's time I'm expecting baby in the next 3 - it's the easiest way to not get my hopes up that baby's coming!

secretlyhermione · 01/10/2019 20:42

Lots going on today! Very excited to hear news from @Frizzy1986!
I've had my parents here the last few days (they live abroad) so have been pretty busy with them and am now super exhausted. Think tomorrow I will have a home day as I really need to rest. I'm 37+5 today, have only experienced tightening s and cramps twice since the beginning of my 37th week but nothing since Saturday. Also have a feeling this one is happy to stay in for awhile so trying to not get too excited about every twinge (even though it's hard not to!)

MrsNotNice · 01/10/2019 20:49

Ladies how would you describe your baby’s movements these days ?? Is it really every hour? I’m not sure how to monitor

Frizzy1986 · 01/10/2019 21:01

Sorry for radio silence. Will catch up later.
Orson Bryan born at 15:51 today.
Made it to hospital and into the pool with 2 mins to spare.
9lb 2 with no pain relief. 3a tear so have had surgery. Did a massive poo in the car en route which is still sat in there!

SunshineSophia · 01/10/2019 21:09

Congratulations @frizzy1986!! Hope you're resting with your little bubs ❤❤❤❤❤ enjoy all those cuddles 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

MrsNotNice · 01/10/2019 21:10

Frizzy1986

Omg wow!!!! That’s so quick !!! 2 mins to spare!

Congratulations !!!!ShockFlowers

Hope your DH managed to make it on time!

cattaxi · 01/10/2019 21:13

Holy moly @frizzy1986! You don’t have to apologise for radio silence while you were giving birth 😂
Massive congratulations and well done to you. I love the name! He obviously was very keen to be the first official October baby!
Hope you are feeling ok 💐

@MrsNotNice I think the guidance is around recognising a pattern that is normal for your baby. If you are feeling like the movements are different to your baby’s usual ones, the guidance is to get checked. Hope you are ok?

Another one with zero signs of labour here. I’m torn between really not wanting anything to happen before my section date & being desperate to get pregnancy over with!

Positivity86 · 01/10/2019 21:18

@Frizzy1986 wow so quick! Huge congratulations and hope you are all well 😊

Figuringitout · 01/10/2019 21:19

Bloody hell @Frizzy1986 - that was an eventful day! Massive congratulations, glad to hear that your baby is safely here - obviously he got the memo about when he was supposed to arrive!!
Hope you heal quickly and that you treasure these first few days with your snuggly newborn. Now, try to get some rest! Looking forward to the debrief in a few days.
