Congrats @SRK16 Bear

Had a scan today (due to reduced movements) and everything all fine. Midwife said I’m now officially classed as full term and if there had been any issues then they would be offering an induction but since everything is as should be then just to keep going and see what happens.

The only thing that scared the hell out of me was that it said ‘estimated fetal weight’ was just over 8lb 😭😱 help!! Lol not looking forward to pushing this little monster out when the time comes

Frizzy1986 · 30/09/2019 19:54

@slinkyreptile I'm constantly told by midwives that bigger is better as gravity helps them get out.
They worry more about smaller babies than bigger ones.
I reckon I'll end up with a 9lb one at least.

Slinkyreptile · 30/09/2019 21:11

@Frizzy1986 when you say it like that it doesn’t sound just as scary. It’s just the thought of my poor nether regions pushing out a big bruiser and tearing me up lol. At least it will all be over soon for us all!

Em39ma · 30/09/2019 21:33

Just had supper with our NCT group was nice to meet-up away from the classes.
Getting back pain now, not sure if it was the chairs in the restaurant or tightenings again. Bump does keep going even tighter, which I didn’t think possible. Have to see what happens over night.

Slinkyreptile · 30/09/2019 21:40

@Em39ma fingers crossed, sounds very promising 🤞🤞

Figuringitout · 30/09/2019 22:05

I think this baby is going to be a 9lber too - especially if it keeps on cooking for another week or so.
I have backache again tonight - but have given up hope of it turning into anything.
I’m going to have a bath and head to bed - will probably pop on again later when I’m wide awake at 3am!

Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy · 30/09/2019 22:05

Wonder if we will have any babies born 1st October Bear

Frizzy1986 · 30/09/2019 22:10

@figuringitout ahhh a bath. I can no longer vacate the bathing vestibule so it's showers only. And I can only just get in the shower doors if I wiggle in at an angle!

@slinkyreptile I'm just holding onto the fact that bigger is better.

@Em39ma that's nice going out for some food. Hopefully the tightenings are a good sign. I'm sick of mine now. Its the same time every evening like clockwork that they kick in.

@Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy please be me please be me!!
I reckon I'll be more like 11th instead. And that's wishful thinking.

HJWT · 30/09/2019 23:21

Iv got DD in the bed tonight! Poor baby woke up crying itching her eczema 🤦🏻‍♀️ DH managed to go to the pharmacy just before it shut for some Piriton, he is really soft though and insists she is really unwell and has to sleep in our bed, even though its just an eczema flare up & a bit of a cold! 🥴 hope she doesn't mind me getting up to pee all night !

Garage have confirmed what I thought and there is no point repairing the car. Need to investigate options. Happy that I can cancel my car insurance though within the 14 days you have to cancel it for a full refund!

I moved the cot from where it was being housed in my sister's room into mine. Felt guilty that she was having to store it (although she was using it to store all of her clothes...)

Em39ma · 01/10/2019 03:06

Tightenings have stopped as usual. And as usual my 3am update. Just taken paracetamol as my back, hip and pelvis are agony.
I’ve got to take the van back to the garage tomorrow, so really wanted to get some sleep.
Just got to put my towel and a few bits of clothes into my bag and I’m all sorted.

Frizzy1986 · 01/10/2019 03:14

@Em39ma my hips are in agony tonight as well. I took some paracetamol about 2hrs ago in the hope it got me through the night but no.
My bump is enjoying going rock hard in waves so its glorious 😔

Oh no @YorkshireIndie that's not good at all. And pretty much the worst moment as well. But good to look on the bright side about the insurance.

@HJWT typical dhs being soft, but I bet its you who sufferers. Hope dd is ok and at least let's you rest.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 01/10/2019 03:25

Haha I just spotted this thread. I was due on Thurs but DD arrived 6 weeks ago!

AngeIoMysterioso · 01/10/2019 05:36

Signing in to Insomniacs Anonymous!

My name’s Angelo and I can’t get no sleep...

I don’t think DH and I are used to being in a double bed yet (our own bed was a king size) he somehow managed to shift his pillow so it was on top of about a third of mine, and when I turned over it was literally in my face!
We’ve got our final growth scan this morning followed by an antenatal clinic with the consultant who seemed on a mission to scare the shit out of me last time I saw her... hoping it goes better today!

Frizzy1986 · 01/10/2019 05:57

@AngeloMysterioso I'd love a king size! We have a double but a king size duvet to avoid duvet wars. Dh is always in my face. He'll sleep close to the edge of the pillow and wrap his arms round it which means his elbows are on my pillow. Risky when I turn over.
Its a non issue at the moment as he's in the spare bed and I think usually I don't move as much in the night so it doesn't matter, but with the hips meaning constant switching sides it was getting on my nerves.

So at about 3:45am I started to get achey cramps low down. They've been uncomfortable but not painful. Got back to sleep and they are still here slightly now although not as much as earlier.
Just had some red tinged discharge (thin discharge though with a pinky/red streak like right before a period)
The aches are definitely reminding me of what it felt like last time in the very early stages, but I really don't want to get my hopes up.

SC0508 · 01/10/2019 07:09

@Frizzy1986 fingers crossed it's the start of something for you!

All the cramps and aches I had have disappeared again, this baby is just getting me excited for when the time is right! Fingers crossed it's soon

Slept a lot better last night surprisingly! Was really cosy in bed this morning until my belly decided it needed food and it needed it now so wide awake I am now ☹️

Frizzy1986 · 01/10/2019 07:23

@SC0508 at least this means you should be OK with a water birth?

I've had a shower in case its my last chance of a nice shower for a while and some snotty blood has come out.
Think I might message the MIL just to say there have been signs so not to go too far just in case. Last time this was on and off for about 3-4 days though and it might just stop completely and turn out to be nothing at all. You only know in hindsight really.

SC0508 · 01/10/2019 07:39

@Frizzy1986 yeah hopefully water birth is available when he decides to come!

Oh that all sounds very promising so fingers crossed for you that today is the day!

I wonder who will be the first to have an October baby 😀 we have finally reached due month! It all seems so real now starting to get nervous. DS woke up this morning shouting it's October my baby brother comes this month 😂.

Em39ma · 01/10/2019 08:22

It’s good that most of us have got to October.
@AngeIoMysterioso I’m with you in the insomniac club.
Is it bad I’m looking forward to an epidural so I can sleep!
All my symptoms have stopped again, seem she only thinks about coming out in the evenings.
I’m not sure how I will sleep tonight, pretty sure I will start thinking everything over about tomorrow.

Figuringitout · 01/10/2019 08:26

@Frizzy1986 - that sounds promising! I’m reporting zero symptoms and no signs. Seeing midwife tomorrow, but not hopeful as baby is still high.
I’m trying to use my ‘extra’ time productively - but keep napping/watching Netflix instead!
I’ve also woken up to 5 new - ‘Any baby?’ messages.... Grrrrrrr

Slinkyreptile · 01/10/2019 09:00

@HJWT sorry to hear about DD, it’s hard enough getting sleep without the poor soul making it more difficult. Fingers crossed you can get some daytime naps to catch up just incase anything starts 🤞

@YorkshireIndie oh no not ideal about the car. Do you have arrangements to be able to safely get to hospital when the time comes? At least moving the cot is another thing ticked off the list, however it will just add to the desperation and excitement within your little one was here haha 💕

@Em39ma good work getting your bags finalised, will be one worry less for you. I’m sure I heard somewhere that more hormones are released in the evening which makes contractions more likely to happen. Frustrating though when you start to get them and it ends up being a false alarm. Totally with you regarding epidural!!

@Frizzy1986 the low down twinges on their own I’ve discovered aren’t necessarily a big deal as it can just be baby moving (got me excited too) however the blood stained discharge and tightening sounds very promising! I bet your MIL won’t go far even without you telling her, it becomes a family affair with everyone on the edge doesn’t it.

@NoIDontWatchLoveIsland congrats! How is your little one getting on with being so early?

@AngeIoMysterioso good luck with scan and consultant, hopefully you will get some more answers as to how things are progressing then you can get your feet up and try and get some afternoon naps to make up for a rubbish sleep!!

@SC0508 aww bless 🥰 my DD is too young to understand as of yet but we do have a scan pic in a frame that she likes to cuddle into now and again so maybe she’s more aware than we realise! I hate when your lying in bed, finally manage to get comfy then the hunger strikes. Nature can be so cruel sometimes

@Figuringitout don’t deny yourself the little naps/Netflix. You will be glad of being well rested when labour finally does kick in!! Hopefully midwife can give you more info on if baby has started heading down yet although I tend to get over excited then told I can just go home and go back to the dreaded waiting game. I feel like screaming at my phone when those messages appear.. it’s a constant reminder of having to relay all your horrible symptoms but without any newborn snuggles to comfort you yet

Frizzy1986 · 01/10/2019 10:49

@slinkyreptile Im fairly confident that they are genuine contractions, but I'm also really aware that labour is very stop start. So I could have them for a morning, and then have nothing for a week.

The discharge is now a thin pink snot so I'm feeling a bit better that maybe my body is at least preparing and I won't be still waiting in 2 weeks. Fingers crossed.

I've made tea (meatballs and tomato sauce) so if things do progress throughout the day, then at least we can still eat if I'm too uncomfortable to make it later.
MIL is really excited. I've tried to explain that it could be hours, days, a week but that I just wanted to make her aware.
Shes talked about packing a bag so I'm now thinking that she's planning on staying overnight here with dd if needed (although we planned them staying at theirs as no beds are ready for guests)

HJWT · 01/10/2019 12:23

@Frizzy1986 ooh very exciting for you! Get bouncy on a ball 😁 x

Iv decided baby is going to stay put until after due date or even induction so if he comes by his self I will be very surprised, I am so tired though I really don't care anymore 😂 xx

Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy · 01/10/2019 12:24

Can I just take a moment to have a little pity party?
I've had 6 messages and 3 calls already today. How are you? Any baby news? Any signs? And such like. I've been turning my phone off for periods of the day to remain relaxed but then people presume I'm in labour and tell me they are disappointed when I say I've been having a nap etc.
They are all really really nice people who I love and individually nobody is too much but collectively it's really getting me down. I'm not due until Sunday and it's getting to me. I'm already nervous. It's nice to know people care so I don't want to be mean or anything but I don't know what to do to help myself either. It's making me feel under pressure as it's already been going on a few weeks.
Someone yesterday said my baby is a typical lazy boy!!! He's not even due yet and he's been called lazy. I know it's just a joke but I'm not exactly finding it funny anymore.

Is anyone else feeling similar? How are you all managing? Confused

Figuringitout · 01/10/2019 12:51

@Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy - I’m now ‘overdue’ according to dates and this baby is showing no signs at all they they are wanting to come into the world. I’m also fielding multiple messages and ‘any news?’ calls (as is DH). My mum is also super keen for the baby to be here before the weekend as we have a big family event. I’m trying to smile, remind myself it’s because they are excited for us and ignore as much as possible. I have a standard - ‘nothing exciting yet - but will obviously keep you posted. Thanks for checking in, I’ll be in touch soon’ message which I have been sending as a reply. It’s frustrating (my calls/messages began in earnest about a week ago) especially when I have no signs of an imminent arrival and am trying to stay upbeat and positive about that!
Hopefully we will all have some happy news to share very soon.
