@CarysRed congratulations! He’s adorable. Hope you’re getting some rest.

@Frizzy1986 can you send some of that my way?! Or failing that, what’s the recipe please?

I’m debating second breakfast. Soooooooo hungry. Less than 72 hours until I meet my baby!

Em39ma · 25/09/2019 10:55

@CarysRed congratulations he is gorgeous.
I have a list as long as my arm now of things we need to get done before Wednesday next week now.
DH has finished painting our room now,so he’s moving the bed etc back in there later. Then get a wardrobe up in the spare room so we can move the stuff out of the wardrobe in the babies room.
The rest hopefully we candour bit each day.

Frizzy1986 · 25/09/2019 10:56

@srk16 the recipe is www.janespatisserie.com/2016/04/18/no-bake-rolo-tart/

She had a rolo cheesecake too that looks lush but has a fair few more ingredients.

It's so so easy and took me about 30 mins to do it all and wash up.

I sent a photo to dh and his response was "it's only 10:30!"
He then asked my plans for the day so I said washing up, sweeping, hand washing the kitchen floor.... He told me NOT to hand wash the floor and I told him that I hoped maybe it would encourage labour.
It's what I was doing the weekend it started with dd, on my hands and knees cleaning the kitchen cupboards and floor with my mum. I then obviously did it and have advised him that I took his advice on board and ignored it 😂

Cantthinkofanameeee · 25/09/2019 12:10

@CarysRed congratulations!!!

HJWT · 25/09/2019 12:10

@Frizzy1986 Oh wow that looks delish! I could eat the lot the mood I am in today 😂

@CarysRed what a gorgeous baby! Congratulations Grin

@YorkshireIndie definitely worth going, there’s so much that I didn’t know/realise, particularly about expressing.

Has anyone been advised to collect colostrum? I have to start in a few days (joys of GD) not sure how I feel about it!

CarysRed · 25/09/2019 12:27

Thank you everyone! I’m not feeling the pain much at the minute, I suppose because I’m numb. But they said soon I will start feeling sore. I don’t care though, he’s just gorgeous. I hope you’re all doing well.

HJWT · 25/09/2019 12:44

@AngeIoMysterioso are you planning on breastfeeding? if not then I wouldn't bother but if you are then defo try & pump!

With DD pumping colostrum wasn't a thing (I had GD) and I wasn't told about it! I really wish I was because she wasn't getting enough from BF the first few hours and had to have formula to get her blood sugar up xx

@CarysRed congratulations! What a Beautiful little boy 💙 I'm so so excited with this thread being updated by labour stories and us having our babies. Hope everyone is well xx

SRK16 · 25/09/2019 13:54

@Frizzy1986 didn’t see this before I waddled to the shops- will have to make it another time. I made peanut butter bites instead but made a bit of an error so they look somewhat unappealing! Think they’ll taste good though :)

Currently sat waiting to be seen at the hospital assessment unit. The midwife wasn’t happy with the scar tenderness.
Had 10 minutes to pack a bag before leaving as we live an hour away from the hospital! Hopefully they won’t want to deliver today, because I don’t think I out half the stuff I need in there!!

Positivity86 · 25/09/2019 14:04

Congratulations @CarysRed he is beautiful and a great weight! Glad you are both doing well.

@secretlyhermione for breastfeeding, think I'm going to use just normal stretchy vest tops which I can wear underneath things, then just pull down as needed (and still have tummy covered!).

I had my 36 week scan today which is standard in this area and everything is looking good...baby is estimated to weigh 6Ib 6oz and they said she has lots of hair!!! Bless her.

We are all getting close now, so exciting 😄

Frizzy1986 · 25/09/2019 14:26

@srk16 they look so tasty. I've been munching on the leftover rolos!

@cattaxi surely they'll give you a little more warning so they'll be time for someone to collect any missing items for you?! Fingers crossed its just a precaution check.

secretlyhermione · 25/09/2019 15:20

@cattaxi keep us posted!!
I think I felt my first Braxton Hicks today. Def felt on and off crampy for awhile!
Does everyone else feel like they just are doing a pile of laundry after another? I think I've finally washed all the baby clothes and blankets but it already seems relentless and baby is not even here yet!!

Slinkyreptile · 25/09/2019 16:51

@CarysRed congrats, he’s just perfect 💕 love the name too.

On a mad cleaning spree again today, everywhere cleaned and mopped even though it was only done 2 days ago. Seem to have an obsession with cleaning the bathroom at the minute... I think in my head I am paranoid because I know that when baby arrives there will be visitors and I don’t want them coming in to an unclean house 🏠 love that feeling though when you walk in the front door and the gorgeous clean smell hits you

Come on little babies... now that carysred has started us off hopefully more to follow soon!!

Slinkyreptile · 25/09/2019 16:53

Omg @secretlyhermione I keep washing stuff constantly, mainly because I love the smell of the fabric conditioner lol. Today I even bleached and boil washed all of DD white socks as they were starting to look a bit grey. Can’t stay away from the washing machine

HJWT · 25/09/2019 17:25

Well, I was meant to get my hair done today! Was looking forward to it to cheer me up but she pushed the app back 3 times so I had to cancel 🙄

So now I am REALLY fed up 😂

OP posts:
MrsNotNice · 25/09/2019 17:41

Are we allowed to use chemicals on the hair so close to the delivery?

I so wanna dye my hair but I’m worried the chemicals would harm the baby. And when I give birth and hold her up to burp smelling those chemicals might harm.

Am I OTT?

Em39ma · 25/09/2019 17:45

@cattaxi how are you getting on?
Hope you are both ok.
My bump has dropped today, maybe we won’t get Wednesday. Hope we do, as so much to finish off in the house.

Slinkyreptile · 25/09/2019 17:57

@MrsNotNice as far as I’m aware it’s perfectly safe to get hair dyed x

newbabyyy2019 · 25/09/2019 18:03

@CarysRed congratulations! Our babies share the same birthday and born nearly an hour apart!!! Xx

newbabyyy2019 · 25/09/2019 18:05

My sweet little daughter Romy was born this morning at 4:05am weighing 5lb 6oz!
She's perfect and I am still in shock that she's all mine! Really sore now. Had to be cut and labour and delivery all happened so fast! Just relieved she's here safe and sound!!

We are home! Thank god!
Spent ages on the monitor - they couldn’t get a good baseline because baby is so lively. A few tightenings showed up, but nothing to write home about.
the dr scanned & prodded my scar and doesn’t think it’s too precarious. I have to go straight in if something kicks off, but other than that, we’re sticking to the plan for 14/10.
I’m so relieved! We are not ready for a baby just yet. The house is upside down with stuff that needs sorting. All the sofa covers had to be pulled off this morning thanks to ds’ puke. god only knows what I chucked in the hospital bags. And, as much as I despise pregnancy, I do want him to stay in as long as possible to avoid any complications.

@Frizzy1986 the midwife basically told me to drive straight to hospital & to take my bags in case the scar was at risk of rupture! I thought she was joking, but she was very serious and said they would want the baby out ASAP if so. It was a bit of a shock, especially as I still hadn’t got round to sorting a bag. I’m sure we would’ve managed.

@secretlyhermione I had done so much washing over the weekend while the weather was nice. I finally felt on top of stuff. But now, thanks to ds’ puking, I have another million loads to do. It never ends!

@slinkyreptile - our house is the opposite of clean at the moment. Can’t wait for ds to get back to school so I can blitz it. Nothing beats a clean house.

@Em39ma - bump dropping is a good sign!

Hope everyone else is ok. It’s been a long day for us - I think I’ll be in bed by 8!

cattaxi · 25/09/2019 18:20

Ohhhhh! Congratulations @newbabyyy2019! She is adorable! What a gorgeous name too 😍

Maryrobinson81 · 25/09/2019 18:21
