Starting a new thread for all of us that find ourselves pregnant again after one or more heartbreaking losses. I know it is really hard to join a pregnancy thread after miscarriage and we all fear the worst will happen again, but let's go on this journey together and hold hands along the way.

This is a safe place for all the ladies on the first pregnancy missed miscarriage thread and for any newcomers who want to join - you are all most welcome! All of the ladies on here have suffered one or more miscarriages and most of us have had particularly difficult losses, such as mmc and other complications. You don't need to be pregnant again to join - you are also most welcome if you have had a loss and are trying again. But we will be sharing scan photos and details of the new pregnancies, in case anyone might find that to be triggering.

Tagging @Catconfusion @Amanda81 @Kiki061190 @3204ECL @Babypending @Ginmonkey84 @MrsMGE and please add anyone else I may have left off. Without further ado, let's start the roll call.

About me: Age 31, trying for my first baby. Previous mmc at 12 weeks in February (hb stopped at 9+4), this turned out to be a partial molar pregnancy and I was monitored by CX hospital for three months. CP in March.

Now 9 weeks, EDD in March, if I make it that long. Oscillating between hope and extreme anxiety every day!

Hey ladies, thank you for thinking of me. Just to let you know the scan went amazingly well. It was fascinating to see baby’s heart and brain. We’re over the moon. Also we’re so pleased to now know we’re having a little boy. We didn’t mind either way but it’s so lovely to know.

Also I was really ill this morning. I had a very sudden dizziness episode and was sick down myself. It was so horrible DH came home from work early. A midwife at the hospital checked me over and I’m fine. It could be a number of things but nothing to worry about thankfully. My pelvic girdle pain is excruciating so it could just be a reaction to that.

Anyway I hope you’re all well. I’ll catch up properly tomorrow. Xx

sadtoday21 · 22/11/2019 18:30

@Catconfusion massive congrats, another boy on the thread!!! You must be so happy. I'm so pleased!

@sadtoday21 thank you, we’re massively relieved! It’s so nice to know the sex too. We didn’t mind but it really helps to visualise the baby as a little person.

I think you’re doing the right thing to get a scan soon just to check in and see how baby boy is doing. We might do the same. It’s such a long wait to the next scan. Xx

Amanda81 · 22/11/2019 20:36

Congratulations @Catconfusion - a little bit! Amazing news. Xx

Amanda81 · 22/11/2019 20:36

Boy! Not bit

Catconfusion · 22/11/2019 21:24

Thanks @Amanda81 we’re so chuffed. It’s feels more real now. Good luck for Thursday. I hope baby flips around. It’s amazing you’re getting so close. I had heartburn earlier on and it was horrible. Liquid gavescon helped me and the ranitidine when really bad. I hope it goes soon! Xx

sadtoday21 · 22/11/2019 21:59

@Amanda81 congrats on reaching 35 weeks, that's insane!! It must feel very real now. Sorry to hear she hasn't moved yet, but it's good they are preparing for the c-section just in case. Have you thought about pain relief at all? I guess with c-section you definitely have the epidural, but otherwise you might get a choice. Sorry also to hear about the heartburn, I can understand that as also feeling a bit harder to digest food now that baby is getting bigger!

Glad your scan went well @Catconfusion, congratulations on your boy! 💙

So close to a baby being here @Amanda81, what a lovely Christmas present she will be!

I haven’t bought anything yet @sadtoday21, waiting for the scan next week. If it’s a boy I might get some new sleepsuits or something but I don’t really need anything, Sad to miss out on some shopping! Enjoy your scan x

Catconfusion · 23/11/2019 09:36

Thank you @bananamonkey it will interesting to see what you’re having. We’ve got 2 girls, 2 boys so far. Hopefully you’ll get to buy a few bits. Good luck for next week. Keep us posted! Xx

Kiki061190 · 24/11/2019 09:27

Oh @Catconfusion a boy!!! I am so happy for you 💓 Amazing that everything is well with baby, you must be so delighted. Only 20 weeks until you meet your son! Are you feeling any squirming yet? I feel it here and there but not regularly.

Catconfusion · 24/11/2019 10:42

Thank you @Kiki061190 it’s amazing news and I loved every minute of the scan. We’ve started using baby boy’s name when we speak to him. I’m now getting lots of squirming and the odd kick hear and there to the side of where I’m told the placenta is. I’ve got no regular pattern either. It’s great you’re feeling it and not long now until your scan! I can’t wait to hear your news. Xx

Kiki061190 · 24/11/2019 11:46

@Catconfusion Were you nervous at all before your scan? I am feeling it now as I feel this is the big scan. Just hope baby girl is doing ok in there. I’m hoping to buy a few big items if the scan goes ok. Amazing you are feeling kicks? Can I ask what they feel like to you? I still can’t feel baby move touching my tummy but can feel her when I’m lying down relaxing. I can imagine you have a wonderful name picked out for your son 💓

Catconfusion · 24/11/2019 11:55

@kiki061190 I was definitely nervous. I’d been getting some major stretching pain as well so was worried it was a sign something was wrong. Also nearly fainted and vomited in the morning just before. Although I’ve felt faint a couple of times since so probably not the nerves and more blood sugar related. All I can say is our chances are so much better than the 12 week one. So few people find they have problems at this point. It’s not impossible but highly unlikely.

The kicks feel like pulses or electric shocks inside my tummy or a bit like wind. Not able to feel outside yet despite DH trying. We went to a music gig last night and baby was kicking loads, probably stimulated by the music. It was so nice to feel like we were enjoying it together. I find it’s only when I focus on on my tummy I feel it. It’s easy for noises and other sensations to distract from it. Believe me they are not strong kicks yet but I’m convinced it’s baby and not imagining it. Xx

Kiki061190 · 24/11/2019 12:03

@Catconfusion that is exactly what mines feels like which is nice. I also can only really feel if I am quite relaxed and focussed on it. I think feeling movement will help me as I get past the 20 week scan. We are planning a 4d scan at some point, potentially 28 weeks!

Catconfusion · 24/11/2019 15:37

@Kiki061190 that’s really good. I’m sure you’ll feel much more relaxed after the scan with the movements as well. I’m not sure if we’ll get a 4D one. I’m tempted as my picture of Friday was really poor compared with the 12 weeks one. The scan itself was really detailed though. We’re having a growth scan at 28 weeks and then every few weeks after so if we do will be at 24 weeks. I guess we’ll see how it goes! X

sadtoday21 · 24/11/2019 19:57

Hey everyone! My scan went well yesterday, saw baby boy again for about ten minutes or so. He weighs 1.6 lbs now! All the photos were a bit blurry, unfortunately, but we saw his legs really clearly definedlooking more like a chubby baby nowand his ribcage and he was sleeping with his hand on his head. I'm loving feeling his movements five times a day or so now and hoping that DH will start feeling it soon too.

After the scan we found the perfect IKEA poang nursing chair for only 15 pounds and I'm currently really comfortable in it working on my laptop. I am happy our nursery furnishings have cost a grand total of 25 pounds thus far! I'm starting to envision it and spending way too much time on Amazon looking at things. Still haven't bought any major items yet or any clothes, but it feels like progress and I'm comfortable with that.

@Kiki061190 I think I will also get a 4D scan at 28 weeks, even though its a bit pricey. I already have the 36 week scan booked in with the NHS and would like to have something between now and then. 4D is really more amazing for seeing the face in detail and at 28 weeks they should be looking very baby-like. Sending you good vibes for your scan next week! I understand your anxiety - mine was through the roof. Even yesterday I still felt some scanxiety, despite feeling movements in the morning. It's just one of those things, scans make me anxious.

@Catconfusion hope you are feeling better now after the spell you had! What's your plan for the gender reveal on xmas? It's wonderful you are feeling movement so early on for AP.

@bananamonkey best of luck for your scan next week! Thinking of you Xxx.

Hey @sadtoday21 that’s brilliant news. I’m starting to feel like a scan at 24 weeks would be good for us. I’m much better thanks. I had another spell on Saturday but wasn’t sick. I’ve upped my food intake and am grazing throughout the day. We’re not sure yet how to do the gender reveal. Maybe a personalised gift like a scan picture tree ornament with baby boy on it for family. I always do pass the parcel for friends so might put a card somewhere in the parcel with the news for someone to read out. We won’t do anything too extravagant. The movements are pretty regular albeit light. Can’t wait for DH to feel too. Xx

Kiki061190 · 25/11/2019 12:19

@sadtoday21 Glad you got to see baby boy again! Omg 1.6 lbs already. Little cutie. You’ve managed to grab yourself a couple of nursery bargains there! Me and OH are planning on buying our pram this weekend if Friday goes well.

@Catconfusion amazing you are getting growth scans, that’ll allow you to see baby boy more. I’m really excited for Friday but equally as nervous now. 4 sleeps!

Catconfusion · 25/11/2019 13:08

Wooo! That’s so exciting @Kiki061190 you’ll be just fine.

Well I thought our photo was a bit poor from the scan. On further investigation I realised the sonographer had put four in the picture frame.

I love them!

Catconfusion · 25/11/2019 13:09

Lots of arms and legs. I love the one where you can see the spine. They’re not as clear as some I’ve seen but better than I thought. Xx

Kiki061190 · 25/11/2019 16:41

Aww @Catconfusion he is adorable! How is the bump! Mines is starting to come along now which is nice!

Catconfusion · 25/11/2019 17:04

Arh thanks @Kiki061190 I like the one where you can see his spine and he’s got his arm over his face. Just think this all seemed impossible 6 months ago to us and now it’s happening.

My bump is huge. I don’t think my belly button will stay in for much longer. Great you’re starting to pop. I’m loving mine. Xx

Amanda81 · 25/11/2019 20:45

Adorable scan images @Catconfusion - I agree, the one showing your little boys spine is fab! It's great that you are getting additional scans offered to you.

Great news on the scan showing all is going as planned @sadtoday21. And well done 👍🏻 on the nursery bargains - that's amazing!

2 girls and 2 boys so far...looking forward to hearing what you are having @bananamonkey.

I had some strange feelings last night...I started getting mild cramps where I would usually eat AF type cramps. Only very mild and they where off and on. Apparently it's Braxton Hicks. They continued today. I'm with the MW on Wednesday and hospital scan is on Thursday, so will get a thorough checking over. Made me think though...she's almost here and she's starting to make herself ready for coming out. Her head is pushing up against my ribs on my left hand side and I can feel and see her head moving...totally weird but magical.

sadtoday21 · 25/11/2019 21:10

@Catconfusion great photos, he's so cute! I love the idea of the ornament, that's very sweet. I did something similar last xmas and it was very special. When is your first growth scan? Sorry if I missed it, but is there a particular reason you are going for them? I didn't see a huge difference between 20 and 24 week scans, if I'm honest, not as drastic as the jump between 12 and 16 and 20 anyway. I think I'm a scanaholic! I also don't think my belly button will stay in much longer, its so strange and wonderful.

I also can't wait to see what you are having @bananamonkey! Not long to go now!

@Kiki061190 only a few days left to go now! Which pram did you decide to go for in the end? I'm not finding black Friday sales to be that great honestly, so still holding off a bit.

@Amanda81 your first Braxton Hicks, how exciting! That's so sweet about feeling her head. When did you first see her moving from the outside?

I've got my 25 week midwife appointment tomorrow, hope it goes well. Going to get the whopping cough jab as well. Feel like baby boy is a little quieter today and trying to wake him up with some hot tea now. I wish he would move all the time as its the only time I really feel calm and enjoying the pregnancy. Cursing my AP majorly. Anyone know when I should be signing up for antenatal classes?

OP posts:
Amanda81 · 25/11/2019 21:20

@sadtoday21 - I first saw her move around about the 28-30 week mark. I see it on a daily basis now. She also gets frequent hiccups which makes my belly move. My belly button has been threatening to pop for weeks now, but it's still an innie...I have a weird phobia about bellybuttons, so am happy that it's remained an innie. Regarding the antenatal class...do you get them in your area? I thought the whole of the UK got them as part of the NHS, but it turns out that not all areas offer them. Ask you MW about them, mine booked me into them around the 28 week mark.

I had a 28 week 4D scan. Out of all the scans we've had, the 4D scan was the most disappointing for us. She had her legs up next to her face and her hands also, so completely not wanting to show her face. She wouldn't budge either. She was being very awkward. I hope your 4D scans provide greater chances of seeing your LO's.

Xx
