Starting a new thread for all of us that find ourselves pregnant again after one or more heartbreaking losses. I know it is really hard to join a pregnancy thread after miscarriage and we all fear the worst will happen again, but let's go on this journey together and hold hands along the way.

This is a safe place for all the ladies on the first pregnancy missed miscarriage thread and for any newcomers who want to join - you are all most welcome! All of the ladies on here have suffered one or more miscarriages and most of us have had particularly difficult losses, such as mmc and other complications. You don't need to be pregnant again to join - you are also most welcome if you have had a loss and are trying again. But we will be sharing scan photos and details of the new pregnancies, in case anyone might find that to be triggering.

Tagging @Catconfusion @Amanda81 @Kiki061190 @3204ECL @Babypending @Ginmonkey84 @MrsMGE and please add anyone else I may have left off. Without further ado, let's start the roll call.

About me: Age 31, trying for my first baby. Previous mmc at 12 weeks in February (hb stopped at 9+4), this turned out to be a partial molar pregnancy and I was monitored by CX hospital for three months. CP in March.

Now 9 weeks, EDD in March, if I make it that long. Oscillating between hope and extreme anxiety every day!

@Noodlesxxx

Hey! Congratulations, it's nice to see someone else who is older and has decided after having kids earlier to have more!

I have 16 & 14 yr old and found out I'm pregnant yesterday morning. We had s MMC in May. I've just turned 40 so was worrying.

Wishing you luck in your journey!

Kiki061190 · 29/08/2019 10:17

Hi!

@sadtoday21 @Catconfusion thanks for asking about me ladies! Scan went well. The nurse gave me a scan on my tummy first of all and said we would do an internal if we couldn’t get a good look. She picked the baby up straight away! Just one baby in there this time thankfully and she was delighted with how strong it’s heartbeat was ♥️ I know I’m not out of the woodwork yet as I seen a heartbeat at this stage before but she seemed very happy. OH was delighted! Have never felt so relieved!

Catconfusion · 29/08/2019 10:28

Arh that's brilliant news @kiki061190 I had a feeling all would be well. I completely get what you mean about the heartbeat not being reassuring, especially if you saw it before. The chances are however much better now you know there’s a strong heartbeat. I really hope you can relax on your holiday. You deserve a nice break! Will they scan again or will you wait for 12 weeks? Xx

sadtoday21 · 29/08/2019 10:37

Congrats @Kiki061190! That is wonderful news. Do they know what caused the pain? Wishing you a happy and relaxing vacation!

Ah that’s great news @Kiki061190

sadtoday21 · 29/08/2019 12:17

I'm sorry to keep bringing this up, but I'm really stressed about tomorrow. Just started crying this morning imagining the worst again...I'm usually not like this, but feel I can't bear to go through a repeat of before. Baby was fine two weeks ago, but what if something happened since then? I just need this day to be over already!

How is everyone else doing today?

Kiki061190 · 29/08/2019 12:29

@sadtoday21 I know what you mean I was a nervous wreck when I went in this morning. I think we always will be! The reassurance is only for a small amount of time. The nurse said that everything is growing so quickly it’s probably related to that! She checked thoroughly and nothing looked wrong. Ovaries all looking good!

@Catconfusion I’m going to attempt to hold out until 12 weeks. She said I am more than welcome to come back if I wish before then which was so nice. My early pregnancy unit is super nice!

Kiki061190 · 29/08/2019 12:33

@bananamonkey thank you so much! How are you?

Catconfusion · 29/08/2019 12:40

It’s completely understandable @sadtoday21 It must be a so close yet so far feeling. The hormones don’t help matters. I’ve got everything crossed for tomorrow. All you can do is take some deep breaths and let the feelings come and wash over you. Its perfectly natural to be nervous despite the odds being in your favour. Xx

I don’t blame you @Kiki061190 it’s so nerve wracking going through scans. If I was younger I’d wait for 12 weeks. We just don’t have time to lose. It does concern me how attached I feel now I know the baby is alive. Has it bonded you a bit more? Xx

Catconfusion · 29/08/2019 12:42

As for me I’m very sick. Not able to do much at all. Just relaxing and eating what I fancy. No more vomiting just extreme nausea and toilet issues. I’m craving specific things and those foods seem to help. I can’t wait for the symptoms to calm down.

bananamonkey · 29/08/2019 12:56

That’s totally understandable @sadtoday21 I can only hope today goes as quickly as it can. Just the thought of any scans makes me so anxious, particularly the 12 week one. Will be thinking of you tomorrow x

@Kiki061190 I’m ok thanks but feeling a little yucky, threw up 5 minutes before an important presentation this morning which was interesting! Hadn’t eaten enough before taking my vitamin 🤦🏽‍♀️ All I want to eat is plain, salty, savoury foods.

Kiki061190 · 29/08/2019 13:00

@Catconfusion It’s amazing how much more comfortable the scans on the tummy are to the internals. I was dreading another internal but glad she caught it on the tummy first so no need! I’ve started feeling queasy when eating and queasy when I don’t eat. It’s a vicious cycle. You still resting up?

@bananamonkey Oooh no sickness has started for you! Hope you managed the presentation ok ♥️ how far along are you now?

sadtoday21 · 29/08/2019 13:14

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it! I know I just have to get through it, but helps to read your posts and know there is support out there, either way.

@Kiki061190 the tummy scans really are so much better than internal, I agree! Much more pleasant. I had one internal at 7 weeks but since then all scans have been tummy. I should have known something was wrong at my last 12 week scan when they had to do an internal scan to see anything :/. Hope you can hold out now until the 12 week scan and enjoy your vacation without too much anxiety or sickness!

@bananamonkey sorry to hear the sickness has started, but it sounds like a good sign to me! TBH, I've had anxiety before all my scans, but nothing near the level of anxiety as now before the 12 week one. I think you feel more emotionally invested as time goes on. How many weeks are you now?

@Catconfusion sorry to hear that the sickness has returned! Hoping you don't have to take the meds for as long as possible. You are right, seeing the baby on the screen does bond you more to it, makes it all seem more real. I also feel the same way about not wasting time as you, I just feel like so much time has passed already and the longer things go, the higher the stakes. Sometimes I do think I should be holding my baby already by now, but I know I can't think like that. Just need to try to stay positive! Hope you get some rest today Xxx.

I wasn’t sick in either of my other pregnancies so I think it was a one-off, nausea combined with massive pill on an empty stomach, maybe a digestive biscuit isn’t the best breakfast choice 😂

6 + 3 now, although think I’m a few days behind.

Amanda81 · 29/08/2019 17:20

Great news @Kiki061190 - I hope all progresses well with this little one - the odds are in your favour. You must be so very relieved!

Amanda81 · 29/08/2019 17:23

I completely understand how you are feeling @sadtoday21 - I find that we out so much effort in to trying to keep ourselves in check, you should allow yourself to brim over once in a while - all perfectly understandable. Keep breathing and tomorrow will be down and over with before you know it. I have everything crossed for you and that you will be celebrating baby news and anniversary tomorrow night xx

Amanda81 · 29/08/2019 17:24

What are your food cravings @Catconfusion ??? Xx

Amanda81 · 29/08/2019 17:25

Oh no @bananamonkey - sorry to hear you have started with the physical sickness. I hope it's a one off due to the empty stomach and it doesn't become a symptom for you. Xx

Kiki061190 · 29/08/2019 18:50

Thank you so much @Amanda81 ♥️ She have me a picture away but tbh I can hardly make anything out on it 😂

sadtoday21 · 29/08/2019 21:33

Thanks @Amanda81, I really needed to hear that! I hope we have something to celebrate too. We did go out to dinner and for a long walk tonight, but my heart really wasn’t in it and neither was DH. Just going to try to get some sleep now and hope for the best.

How are you doing? Now that you’ve visited the antenatal unit, are you putting together a birth plan? Hope you are feeling ok! Xxx

OP posts:
Amanda81 · 29/08/2019 21:50

Hey @sadtoday21 - I think the birth plan will be very much to me in the birthing suite working my way through active labour and then in to the pool when I'm ready. I'm bearing in mind though that this may of course change due to any complications presenting themselves between now and then. Just want to go with the flow and trust in my body and the MWs giving me care. I have some work to do to get my mind and body ready which I am starting with gusto next week. The last family visit ended today, they went home at 4pm and me and the DH just flopped on the sofa. It's so nice to be on our own again as August has been full on. I've made a decision to stop working at 36 weeks, this is mainly because I stop taking the aspirin at 36 weeks and want to focus on me and not work. I will most likely get a scan at 36 and 37 weeks to check that she is still growing. It's nice to actually start making decisions. Also, now that the family have departed we can start to get the house ready as we have a lot of moving around to do - very exciting. My belly is growing quite a bit and definitely look pregnant now...eek!!!

What time is your scan tomorrow? Xxx

sadtoday21 · 29/08/2019 21:55

Hey @Amanda81 I think your plan sounds great! It’s very exciting to think about. Are you still pretty much doing the same excercises or having to modify that now?

My scan is at 9.20 tomorrow morning. Terrified!
