Kaix · 02/08/2019 21:06

Hi all. I’ve been lurking this thread for the last couple of days and it’s been a mixture of reassuring and terrifying. Think I’m due March 28th but not talked to anyone yet and just been figuring out stuff myself. It’s all hush hush at the moment, we’ve not told anyone yet. Other than I’ve gone off food (which is unheard of) and I can smell bacon a mile away, nothing much happening yet!

Jampot36 · 02/08/2019 21:07

@Jesskir89 its this works ...ive tried to attach a photo x

@barnyb I hate Wales but that's just cos it takes him away for most of the week lol
Got the whole weekend to lie about and catch up on the weeks TV

avocadoincident · 02/08/2019 21:22

@Jesskir89 nutritional yeast is really good with avocado. Do you like avocado? If yes I'll give you some ideas

MummyP1g · 02/08/2019 21:25

@barnyb thank you! X

@Keyboard91 thank you! We struggled to find a date to get it done as we're so busy next week and wanted it done sooner rather than later but not too early! Hope yours goes well x

@Yvonne1988 fingers crossed everything is ok. Teeth brushing is the worst for sickness. I have to brush really quickly or I'm sick x

Yvonne1988 · 02/08/2019 21:30

@mummyp1g I do it on purpose first thing just to get it out my system. I still feel a bit sick in the day, not actually sick in the morning cos my stomach is empty but it takes the nausea away.

Yvonne1988 · 02/08/2019 21:36

And thank you. I think I am ok. But also just being prepared really.

Tashd · 02/08/2019 21:49

Hi everyone! I’m new here and due my 2nd child around 19th March (I think!)
Came off of my contraceptive pill at the end of May and bled for 5 days from 13th June so going by that I would be 7+1.
Only symptoms I’ve had so far are sore boobs and slight nausea, was very sick for 5 months with DD so hopefully it won’t be so bad this time!

@Jesskir89 Avon do a pillow mist with lavender and chamomile which I swear by! (Not just saying that because I’m a rep, it really is amazing and smells so good!)

Jesskir89 · 02/08/2019 22:23

Thank you @Tashad and welcome. Also thanks @ttc19 and @jampot36 I might order both need any help I can get sleeping atm. @avocadoincident would love some please and this explains the name lol.

@yvonne1988 my dh has been working in wales, Newport! I hate him being away. Anyone else from Manchester on here?

Yvonne1988 · 02/08/2019 22:25

@jesskir89 that's where mine works!
I'm from Manchester but live in Scotland now.

Yvonne1988 · 02/08/2019 22:27

@Jesskir89 iv just spent the last few days in Newport. Glad to be home where we stayed was so hot and the bed has hurt my back.

Jesskir89 · 02/08/2019 22:39

@yvonne1988 small world my dh is working on some kind of hotel with golf course he said it's been red hot down there I'm hoping it's only for a couple of weeks

Yvonne1988 · 02/08/2019 22:44

@jesskir89 I think I know the hotel. Big fancy one? Ah I'm a railway widow he's been down there since December.

Jesskir89 · 02/08/2019 22:54

Yes he said they're spending 50 mill on it so it must be fancy lol and wow December is a while!

blondie87 · 03/08/2019 07:30

I can’t wait to get to my scan date through. Really hoping it comes before we move. Want to see the bean so much!

Is anyone else struggling to get a good night’s sleep? I usually sleep brilliantly but taking ages to drop off, then having vivid dreams which wake me up (more like nightmares) then I can’t get back to sleep. Feeling so tired when I wake up!

A good tip I was given was to help with feeling sick when you wake up. Get someone to make you a cup of camomile tea and a plain digestive if you can stomach it and have it in bed before you get up!

Jampot36 · 03/08/2019 07:35

@blondie87 yes!!!! I get to sleep no problem but wake up about 3.30 and thats it!

barnyb · 03/08/2019 07:36

@blondie87 yes I have funny dreams and I either wake up from those or needing the loo (100) times and then I can't get back to sleep. It's only just started to do this though. Normally I can get back to sleep really well. But I feel like I'm wide awake. also iv had to get up in the night a few times to have a biscuit because I feel so sick I can't sleep. It has helped but don't like the idea of going to sleep with biscuit all on my teeth.!! On the other hand can't be arsed to go brush them again! 🤭🥴

Jampot36 · 03/08/2019 07:39

Ladies I'm a bit worried today. I went to bed not feeling great, tired and bloated. This morning i have a weird pain in the right side of my abdomen, like over bikini line area. Its not severe but its uncomfortable. No bleeding or anything. Should i be worried? I havent had any twinges/crampy pains since week 5 but ive read they can happen all the way through. I dont know what it is or what to do?

Dinosauraddict · 03/08/2019 08:22

@blondie87 I recommend ginger nut biscuits for sickness.

@Jampot36 I know it's easier to say than do, but I honestly wouldn't worry. I had bad cramps around week 4/5 then nothing until yesterday (I'm currently 8+3). My ones yesterday were similar to how you describe, I was so worried I did another pregnancy test last night but it came back incredibly positive, and the pains have gone away today.

hopefulowl · 03/08/2019 08:26

@Jampot36 I've had several twinge type feelings that I would describe as lightly painful or uncomfortable, around the bikini line area. Unless it gets severe, try not to worry. Is it still there or has it subsided now?

When I've had it it tended to go within about 20 mins. How are you now?

Of course if it gets worse / severe or any other worrying symptoms then I would contact the EPU. Hopefully it has relaxed a bit now though - I know I've certainly noticed some strange feelings going on.

Jampot36 · 03/08/2019 08:27

@Dinosauraddict thank you so much you have no idea how much that helps! Ive got a hot water bottle at the moment and skipping the gym to rest before i go out this afternoon.

Keyboard91 · 03/08/2019 08:37

@Jampot36 i agree with the others - cramping/discomfort is normal in the 1st trimester. But do call EPU if it gets worse or anything else worrying happens (which it shouldn’t 🤞 ). Is it easing off now?

I think I’m eating my words a little this morning because I’ve woken up feeling rough! I wouldn’t of called this nausea but it’s not pleasant. So thinking this could be the start of more obvious symptoms for me. Will have to see! Was hoping to have a good day today as I’m due to go and see my nephew for his birthday!

Hey all,
Hope it's not too late to join! I'm new to mumsnet and we are expecting our second on the 23rd of March 2020 (which sounds very far away) but it puts me at 6+5.
Also feeling exhausted and nauseous, had sickness right up to week 20 last time around so fingers crossed I can kick it sooner! Not feeling half as hormonal this time, so that's a result.
Had the booking appt with the midwife yesterday and felt like a real pin cushion!

@Jampot36 if it's more with movement it sounds a bit like pgp? Found sleeping with a little pillow under my middle (and later under the bump!) helped loads
