Hi all the new joiners and congratulations!

Can I have a moan now...I've actually got a proper (and horrific and violent tummy bug) I feel so ill and my husband has had to go away to South Africa for a week for a funeral and I've got a 16 month old that I'm running around after and still breastfeeding.

This might go down as one of the hardest weeks ever!

Dr said it's fine to have a bug just drink water and plain white food. But struggling to keep anything in in any direction.

My due date is 15th March. I saw someone else upthread with the same one so hello to you. X

Dinosauraddict · 02/08/2019 06:51

Welcome @Rojelio, sorry but I don't know what you mean by 'beige'?

I feel really burpy too @barnyb it's less than ideal but my DH finds it hilarious as I'm usually very etiquette focused...

@avocadoincident sorry you're having such a tough week!

barnyb · 02/08/2019 07:05

@Dinosauraddict yes! I never ever burp I'm not a burpy person so I think that's why it's making it more disgusting! I woke up this morning feeling sooooo sick! and yesterday I was moaning because I didn't feel as sick ! 😦😶😐

barnyb · 02/08/2019 08:16

@avocadoincident your week makes my "bad time" sounds like a day at the seaside! X

MunchyMunchkin · 02/08/2019 08:29

I burped after some water yesterday. Glamorous it is not!

Good luck @avocadoincident sounds horrendous

Jampot36 · 02/08/2019 08:41

@babbabump I'm avoiding anything high impact and now boxercise is out too. Im doing most of my usual stuff (weight training) but reduced how much I'm lifting to a lot lighter than i was then doing a bit walking on treadmill. If you're on instagram there's a couple of good pages...bumpsandburpees are pure pre and post natal exercise, they put a lot of workouts on and aliceliveing has just qualified in pre natal so she has a couple things on her page. I think most of it is lieten to your body. I'm aiming for 3 sessions a week. My goal isnt PBs or fat loss anymore its just keep moving and stay active when i can. If im feeling tired i don't go.

Jampot36 · 02/08/2019 08:43

@barnyb i have ALL the gas. Burps and farts (tmi sorry) by evening I'm pure bloat, there'll come a point when i think I'll just be a blimp.

Also, i had a dream last night that i forgot i was pregnant and drank wine. I think we all know what I'm missing most! 🤔

Keyboard91 · 02/08/2019 08:49

@avocadoincident what do you teach? I sometimes think that schools are awful at things to do with their staff being parents. I got made to feel guilty for asking to go home when I began bleeding in Jan (ended up the start of my MC) and then my Dep Head wouldn’t rearrange a meeting so sat there peak MC in a meeting with him. He left last month(!). Luckily my head of department is much much more supportive. I’ll tell him as soon as we go back in August but will only tell school officially when it suits me! Sorry you’re feeling so rough though :(

Haha @MunchyMunchkin @barnyb @Dinosauraddict yes to the wind... but I’m at it from both ends 🙈🙈🙈

Still not really got any symptoms. Very bloated, dizziness that comes and goes (especially in the shower). Felt a little off last night but I’d eaten quite a big meal so it could of been that, and it passed after a few minutes. 🤷‍♀️

Well ladies I’m 10 weeks on Monday and two days ago I got congratulated it as she could see I was pregnant I couldn’t believe it, I’m wondering if you can actually show this early with 3rd baby ? I’m hoping my symptoms are dying down a little as I’m reaching the 12 weeks too, has anyone also had feeling of weak legs please ? Like you have to sit down because if you don’t they will give way ? Xx

avocadoincident · 02/08/2019 09:26

@Keyboard91 I can't believe that awful head of department, what a cock. It must've been awful...that doesn't even cover it tbh.
I'm a primary school teacher with a mixed class of reception and year 1's.
....well I was, I've been off almost 18 months now so who knows where they will put me when I eventually return.

What do you teach?

Keyboard91 · 02/08/2019 09:33

@avocadoincident I’m also disabled so I’ve had many fun meetings about that. But now the issue has gone I’m hoping the replacement will be much nicer 🤞 I teach 11-18 Maths so slightly different! I have some great colleagues so rely a lot on them and they really are amazing.

Rojelio · 02/08/2019 11:20

@barnyb @Dinosauraddict Sorry didn't mean to be cryptic basically just meant I was boring and things just bumped along with no issues... hoping to be boring again! Grin
Sorry to hear about those with sickness, it's early days for me so yet to be seen if I will get away with it again or not but they do say pregnancies can be completely different so only time will tell 🤷🏻‍♀️

Rojelio · 02/08/2019 11:21

@avocadoincident ouch that's hard going, hope you feel better soon!

blondie87 · 02/08/2019 12:57

That sounds so grim @avocadoincident I hope you feel better soon!

Having such vivid dreams. I’m feeling so hormonal and a bit overwhelmed as we’re moving house across the country in under two weeks! So glad it’s the school holidays although I’m run ragged with my other two.

hopefulowl · 02/08/2019 14:09

@avocadoincident That sounds like a crazy difficult week. It's so frustrating when you have something like a bug which you can't actually do anything about.

@Jampot36 and @Babbabump I'm so impressed you're both still going to the gym and exercising! I hope I might be able to start some exercise again soon - usually I swim a few times a week but this week I've been wiped out.

Having spent almost all of this week bed bound feeling on the edge of throwing up from waking up until going to sleep, barely able to eat - I gave in today and went to see my GP. She has prescribed me some anti-nausea medication and I'm starting to feel slightly better already.

I have literally been struggling to even get out of bed for a shower, if I'd been at work this week, I certainly wouldn't have made it. If there's anyone else feeling this awful, go to your GP!

avocadoincident · 02/08/2019 14:15

Thanks for all the sympathy, I am feeling rather sorry for myself.
But my first daughter who is 20 (!!! Yes big gap, previous relationship) has come home from uni to rescue me.

She's taking dd2 out and playing and reading with her which relieves my guilt and responsibility. I can hear them laughing downstairs so it's a huge relief to be able to 'just be ill' and not have to parent.

Hope everyone's nausea is taking the day off today

Jesskir89 · 02/08/2019 14:15

I went to the gp today and he wouldn't give me any anti sickness tablets:(

Jampot36 · 02/08/2019 14:20

@Keyboard91 that is awful, i cant believe you had to go through that.

@avocadoincident hope you feel better soon, sounds like a really tough week.

@hopefulowl if i felt a smidgen like you do I'd 100% not be there, ive not felt too bad so far but only 6 weeks so it could change at any point, so im making the most of it while i can! Hopefully you'll feel better with these tablets and be able to do something nice over the weekend.

@blondie87 vivid dreams started for me too! A move is a big thing at the best of times, its not surprising you're feeling like that. Where are you heading from/to?

hopefulowl · 02/08/2019 14:36

@Jesskir89 What was his reason for not giving you anti-nausea tablets?

@Jampot36 Thanks, fingers crossed they keep working. Definitely make the most of how you're feeling!

blondie87 · 02/08/2019 14:45

Speaking of exercise, I accidentally ended up at an aqua aerobics class (I meant to go swimming). It was great! Felt like a work out but not weight bearing which will be great when the bump gets heavy!
@jampot36 we’re moving from Yorkshire to Oxfordshire. I’m excited but also quite daunted! Glad you’ve got backup @avocadoincident

Disney1010 · 02/08/2019 15:24

@blondie87 I did an aqua natal class during my last pregnancy, from 12 weeks right up to 41 weeks. It was the highlight of my week! Sadly the class I did is no longer running, so I'm madly looking for another local one!

Jampot36 · 02/08/2019 15:50

Im not the strongest swimmer but will look into whats on at our pool. I love weight training but realistically i know I'll have to stop eventually so swinging/aqua classes sound great. Was going to look at pregnancy pilates classes but could get expensive i think!

Glad you got some help @avocadoincident you might feel a bit better after some proper rest

Keyboard91 · 02/08/2019 15:50

@Jampot36 you’d be surprised what goes on in some schools :(

Ladies. I vowed to abstain for sex until 12 weeks because of our MCs and some people saying that orgasming (and uterine contractions) can sometimes cause a bad outcome. But today it was too much and I was very frustrated! We didn’t have penetrative sex, more mutual fondling. When we got home (don’t ask 🙈) and I wiped I had some unusual discharge that was thick, but almost fluffy(?) and may have been the palest possible pink. Am I okay? I’ve got some backache now and the odd mild cramps but nothing unusual at the moment. Do you think we’ve done damage or does it sound okay? Obviously if I spot/bleed or get strong cramps I’ll call EPU but I’m just worrying now. Haven’t told my fiancé I’m anxious either.....

OP posts:
Frillyfarmer · 02/08/2019 16:11

@Keyboard91 had you been told by your consultant not to? I was also concerned about the same thing due to my history of MC and my consultant said there was no need to alter our sex life as my MCs and sex were not linked. The cervix is sensitive, sometimes that does cause brown spotting.

Keyboard91 · 02/08/2019 16:24

@Frillyfarmer haven’t seen a consultant as haven’t (yet) hit the ‘magic’ 3 MCs. But I’d read some articles saying pregnancy outcomes were better in groups who didn’t have sex in the 1st trimester, and some people have said on here that they were advised to abstain due to previous MCs. So we are still very in the dark at the moment... only 6+1 so no midwife contact yet either. He didn’t go near my cervix, was all very ‘external’ if you know what I mean. I think I’m just anxious that I might be the cause of our previous 2 losses and that maybe I’ve done it again by indulging in myself ... we had a VERY active sex life before so it’s been torture not doing it for a few weeks(!)
