Thinking of you all. Guess who's eaten about 3 neat tablespoons of nutella this evening? Plus a kitkat chunky Blush

BarryBarryTaylor · 15/07/2019 20:45

I’m 36+3 today!

My first was an induced labour and so I don’t really know what it feels like to go into labour naturally. I keep thinking every twinge something must be happening. I’m eating my dates and pineapple constantly 😆

Lexyness · 15/07/2019 21:54

@kittytiggy me too - several neat tablespoons full of Nutella 😳 couldn’t help myself x

Snowflake9 · 15/07/2019 22:25

@lexyness - I bought some witch hazel earlier from Asda. Thanks for the tip. Ones using vapour rub (another MN taught me that one, meant I could sleep last night) Do I just soak a cotton pad in the witch hazel and keep it on for a few minutes? Or put some on a pad?

Thank god work (reluctantly) gave me a sit stand monitor riser so I have been stood up most of the day.

God I hate moaning!

I am only 34 weeks. X

Lexyness · 15/07/2019 23:24

@snowflake9 I just literally soaked a cotton pad and wiped Roy after each time i used the toilet! But I’ve heard people soak a pad and put in the fridge or freezer or something similar. I would think you’d need to actually get some of the product on the pile though for it to be effective and if it’s soaked into a pad it’s likely to have dried up?

I’ve not heard the vapour run tip before - will bare that in mind in case I need it after the birth of this one lol! I’ve been using my witch hazel for days now as I could feel mine coming and it’s keeping them at bay so far lol!

I'm due 1st August so I'll be 38 weeks on Thursday.
I'm totally convinced I'll be late now. Even though all throughout my pregnancy I've been sure she will come early! No signs as of yet though. Getting very fed up and now approaching 3 weeks off work. Boredom has set in. 😂😂

kittytiggy · 16/07/2019 09:13

Had my 36week MW app today.
Was in and out like a flash (not unusual as I see her once a fortnight) but my notes say that she should have gone through x,y&z and I didn’t get any of that! I’ve had no option for antenatal classes and I know I have 3 other dc but my youngest is 8 and he was a surprise anyway so haven’t had anything for 11 years now and this is all new! My friend had a baby a year ago (and just had another) and she was told to go to antenatal classes because so much had changed - and I didn’t even get offered any. Also no home visit and everyone else I know had 1 at 36 weeks, they sat down and went through all the things the notes say they should!
Haven’t spoken about hospital bag, birthing plan etc etc. And was told I had sugar in my urine and yet it was just dismissed as if I’d eaten something sugary but the sample was done around 2 hours after breakfast and I’d only had bran flakes so that doesn’t really explain it!
Sorry to moan. Just feeling a bit frustrated by it all!

PhoebeBear · 17/07/2019 08:25

@Lexyness I could have written your post myself- I've been through the exact same thing!
I had my 34 week app and now I don't have one until I'm 38 weeks and this is my first child 😬 when I looked online it says the midwife would talk more about labour and a birth plan.. when I went for my 34 week app she measured bump, listened to hearbeat, blood pressure and wee sample then sent me on my way. I felt quite let down as I was hoping to get more advice at that time... I've also only been able to go to one antenatal class as they were all booked up and all it was about was how to bath your baby... 🙄
I know I have my mam and partner to talk to about labour and how I would like the birth to go but I would also of loved some actual advice from my midwife to help me feel more settled. Also having my appointments so far apart from each other has made me nervous as I'm starting to get a lot of aches and pains now and I'm worried if I did go into early labour I would freak out .
Good luck to you but yeah I'm also in the same boat. Xx

Snowflake9 · 17/07/2019 08:49

Snap!! Had my 34w appointment yesterday and she just gave me a leaflet when I asked about feeding. I asked about where I am going to give birth, she said we don't need to worry about that yet. She did blood pressure, measured bump and sent me on my way. Asked her about ROY and she said drink my water. Told her I drink 4 litres a day! She just said drink more.

Useless. !!

PhoebeBear · 17/07/2019 09:00

@Snowflake9 it's crazy they don't give you more advice isn't it! I mean I don't want a whole lecture but would love to hear more about signs as the weeks go on etc.. especially it being my first!
I also tried to book a tour at the hospital I'll be delivering at and they were also fully booked.. next available day is the 10th August, I'm due on the 8th 😫 I've never been to this hospital before and I told the nurse on reception could I not just come in so I know where I'll be parking, travelling to.. stuff like that and just got told no- I would have to do the tour ffs

kittytiggy · 17/07/2019 09:32

35+1 today.
Can relate to everything written above !!! On another note getting quite excited about getting all the girly clothes in for baby :) DH says she can use DS old sleepsuits ... I don't TINK SO :) (anyone watch love island? no? ok Blush)
