I’ve been called into hospital for my induction.

Snowflake9 · 03/08/2019 14:21

@Xyzzzzz good luck!!!!

Chocolatedaim · 03/08/2019 15:01

Xyzzzzz

Good luck!! I’m off on a long walk to try get baby moving. I feel like it’s close but it’s hard to tell!

PhoebeBear · 03/08/2019 21:03

I'm 39+2 and I lost my mucus plug today, I wonder if this could mean labour could be soon?

Chocolatedaim · 03/08/2019 22:21

I’m 39+1 and I’m having dull aches in my sides and then every now and then my stomach tightens. I think this may be the very early start, I will wait to see if it’s BH 😁

PhoebeBear · 03/08/2019 22:43

@Chocolatedaim oooooh exciting ! I always find it hard to tell if it's BH or baby moving. Lately my stomach feels hard 24/7 like there's no water in there anymore and just him haha

Xyzzzzz · 04/08/2019 00:51

I had a baby girl. She weighs 5 pounds and 12 ounces. I ended up giving birth very quickly and without any pain relief.

Snowflake9 · 04/08/2019 06:35

xyzzzz - Congratulations! I am so pleased to hear all went well and you have your baby girl now. All the best for the next couple of days and no pain relief? You absolute trooper. Xx

happygoluckyhippo · 04/08/2019 07:14

@Xyzzzzz congratulations!

ZazuMoon · 04/08/2019 07:19

@Snowflake9 very similar to my boss, except is not 70 and is a former lawyer. Wanted me to go back after 4 months. I said no. So he told my colleagues I was going back after 4 months. 😨 No doubt to add pressure. I ended up going over his head.

ZazuMoon · 04/08/2019 07:22

@Lexyness and @Xyzzzzz Congratulations! What a coincidence you both had girls weighing the same! Enjoy this early time with them. 🎈

Chocolatedaim · 04/08/2019 07:24

Congratulations on your new arrivals 💗💗

ZazuMoon · 04/08/2019 07:26

And good luck to everyone else still waiting- we had a unexpected trip to hospital to check on baby's movements over the weekend-turns out his reduced movements are normal and he was just exceptionally active before!

PhoebeBear · 04/08/2019 07:41

@ZazuMoon I had the same problem a couple of weeks back, raced to the hospital, got the monitor on and baby started moving and rolling around 🙄 typical! 😂

Snowflake9 · 04/08/2019 07:42

@zazumoon glad to hear baby is well.

I have one week left and I am literally counting down until Friday. He makes me feel as though he's doing me a massive favour by paying basic SMP. Feel like turning round and saying some employers have a maternity package in place!

I can't believe your employer told everyone you were coming back after 4 months.

I am half tempted not to return at all, do some online training and become qualified in something I can do from home. (have been self employed before)

Had a really hard day yesterday, it was long and strenuous!! Slept like a log although my feet and hands are absolutely killing today.

Lexyness · 04/08/2019 11:48

Congratulations @Xyzzzzz hope you’re enjoying your tiny little bundle. I’ve pretty much ran out of clothes which remotely fit, all the ‘newborn’ stuff I have (which is a lot Cos I went crazy) is like twice the size of my little peach 🤣

To everyone else still waiting, sending you all some labour vibes, not long now and you too will be meeting your precious bundles xxx

Lexyness · 04/08/2019 12:02

To all of you with job/boss problems - soz haven’t had chance to read everyone’s posts!
But my advice is think really long and hard about your future at your current jobs! Discuss options with your patterns (if appropriate) and maybe look into alternatives perhaps? With my dc1&2 I was a nurse and utterly made to feel miserable when I returned to work after both of them! Looking back on it now I was bullied out of my job by the ward manager, and I probably had grounds for a case against them!
I am now self employed as a carer (prefer to be self employed as I can give the care my clients truly need rather than restricted to timings etc!) ANYWAY I didn’t get round to filling out my request for maternity allowance before my peach made her arrival on Thursday 🙈 so that comes with its own problems lol! xxx

ZazuMoon · 04/08/2019 12:03

@Snowflake9 just try to take it easy- no employment is worth you being under stress at this late stage. I can understand the temptation to re-train-you will always be made to feel as if they are 'doing you a favour' for things they are supposed to give you in law.

It was only when a colleague asked me if I was OK with coming back that soon that I realised! Work would have actually started scheduling based on me coming back then if I hadn't intervened! I feel like dragging out my mat leave for as long as I'm entitled to.

@PhoebeBear typical! What naughty boys we are having! This was the first time I was worried enough to go in. What I had been experiencing had been a high level of activity throughout the pregnancy. I do worry he is just going to be awake/active round the clock when he is born 😮

ZazuMoon · 04/08/2019 12:07

@Lexyness good points about future work. Your little peach sounds gorgeous- what a lovely nickname. I'm calling mine 'bruiser' due to his estimated size. I have bought new born clothes but I don't think they'll last long.

Lexyness · 04/08/2019 12:21

@zazumoon I had to change her nickname from hippo to peach 😝 she definitely didn’t come out the size of a hippo 🦛 as expected 🤣
Will post a little more about my experience later and a little picture! We’ve had a random midwife turn up this morning when we were all asleep, we have to have extra checks because she’s on some traffic light system thing where she was assigned a ‘red hat’ which they insisted I took home as well! But then he hospital didn’t actually tell the community midwives about this red hat thing, so it’s all been up in the air lol! And to top it off my midwife is on holiday so they were expecting me to travel quite far for these extra checks but the lovely lady this morning drove all the way out to us on the off chance despite being on call for homebirths which are brewing lol!

Lexyness · 04/08/2019 12:23

Also @ZazuMoon my bump was super active ALL the time, painfully so at times! But I can assure you she isn’t the same now! AND she slept for 6hours last night - but my body kept waking me up thinking I had to feed her so I didn’t feel the benefit of that lol! x

Chocolatedaim · 04/08/2019 14:11

I’m really hoping I will be able to post you an update about my DS’s arrival soon!

I’m having chronic lower back pains, last night I was having BH. Eating loads of chilli and drinking raspberry leaf tea today. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Chocolatedaim · 04/08/2019 14:13

lexyness oh Maternity Allowance is a real pain in the bum. I sent off my application in June and they still haven’t looked at it 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

ZazuMoon · 04/08/2019 16:10

@Lexyness perhaps my little bruiser will be a lower weight than first thought then, although I am struggling to support the bump weight, even with a belt. And 6 hours sleep! That's incredible. What a good peach. ☺ That gives me hope.

@Chocolatedaim and everyone else who is almost there- good luck in these last few hours/days!

Shahlalala · 04/08/2019 16:24

Congratulations everyone whose little ones have arrived!

Those waiting for maternity allowance I called after waiting 6 weeks and he said there was a big delay, so it would have been weeks more. Explained I was now on no income and he did it over the phone. This was a few weeks ago and I had done mine in mid May.
