My last day at work tomorrow. Induction set for Saturday and I’ll be 39 weeks then

Hospital bag is all packed. Just need some more maternity/post Partum pads any recommendations??

Lexyness · 30/07/2019 22:13

@Chocolatedaim it’s my other dd’s birthday in a few weeks time too 🙈 been buying all the bargains I could find, hopefully might get them all wrapped and sorted this week before I have baby hippo! Also got family visiting in a few weeks and we always do ALL the birthday presents together (as don’t see them much) so that’s a niece & nephew all to wrap presents for and I’m still yet to buy for my 2 brothers and sis in law 🤦🏼‍♀️ Doh! Hopefully I’ll make it somewhere before they arrive to grab something 🤷🏼‍♀️ Oh yeah and then there’s my step dad on 15th August too!
I’m currently trying to finish crocheting hippos blankets I started! 1 down, 1 still to go! Wish me luck lol x

Chocolatedaim · 30/07/2019 22:41

Good luck!!
I’m rubbish at all things crafty, thankfully my DH has a two wonderful step grandmothers who knit and post things down to us 😆

Lexyness · 30/07/2019 22:49

@Xyzzzzz I’ve just got Tesco’s own maternity towels, however at some point I must have bought Lidl’s hygiene pads - and tbh I think they might work better! Opened them today as was expecting bleeding or something after my sweep - but nothing! They are quite thick but reckon they would do a good job after the birth!
Also - wow you’re not leaving yourself much time between finishing and your induction - I thought I was cutting it fine finishing yesterday and induction on Saturday lol xxx

Xyzzzzz · 31/07/2019 03:26

@lexyness thanks for the recommendation, I’ll try them I have lilets so far.

I know but I’ve got peri natal depression and anxiety so figured I’d rather work and have something to do albeit I’ve slowed down and worked shorter weeks using annual leave that way, than finishing early. I have minor easy plans for the final two days lol which include beauty treatments for me lol. I’m as prepared as I’ll ever feel I think, I honestly feel that you can’t ever fully prepare for a baby because each experience is so different.

PhoebeBear · 31/07/2019 04:19

So me and parter DTD and I ended up bleeding afterwards , it wasn't a heavy flow- almost looked a bit pink with some clumps in it, I would say they looked a bit mucus but the blood was more watery (sorry tmi) I ended up feeling baby very very low afterwards almost as if he was going to drop out and I started getting back ache. Went to hospital to get checked out and they kept an eye on babies movements then I had a examination with the nurse. She says my waters haven't went but she cannot tell if that was my mucus plug that passed. Didn't do a cervix exam. I was sent home and told to go back if I feel my waters or start getting contractions.. hopefully this is the start of something! I'm so ready to go now!

greystar30 · 31/07/2019 04:55

I was sent for a growth scan yesterday as MW was measuring the bump a couple of weeks ahead, she is estimated to be 7.5lbs already 😱 (I'm 37 weeks today) and I've been diagnosed with polyhydramnios which I'm a bit worried about.

They're sending me for a second GTT (first one was fine) tomorrow. Does anyone have any experience of excess amniotic fluid issues? They didn't really give any advice on the potential implications (not due to see MW until next Tuesday) and I don't want to google it too much!

Snowflake9 · 31/07/2019 06:38

@PhoebeBear sounds promising! Keep moving around and hopefully it will bring on your contractions.

@greystar30 I am sorry I can't help with your diagnosis, did they offer any advice at the hospital?

mynameiscalypso · 31/07/2019 08:56

@greystar30 I was diagnosed with excess amniotic fluid at 32 weeks; I've had two more growth scans since then and seen the consultant and it's gone down a little now (37 weeks) but still at the higher end. My GTT was clear and they could see that the baby's kidneys and stomach seemed to be fine on the scan so it was just put down to being one of those things (for approx 60% of women, there's no cause at all). Nobody was worried at all - the sonographer said the main issue would be that, if my waters were to break, they might be quite spectacular! The other issue my consultant mentioned was that, because of the amount of fluid, baby still had a lot of room to swim around so might find it harder to get into the right position. We didn't really discuss that though as I'm having a c section anyway so didn't really matter too much. Please try not to worry too much.

Chocolatedaim · 31/07/2019 08:59

greystar

Sorry I can’t help, but as mynameiscalypso said I would try not to worry. I’ve heard (just anecdotally) that boys especially have lots of water around them 🤷🏻‍♀️ X

greystar30 · 31/07/2019 09:10

Thank you @Snowflake9 @Chocolatedaim and @mynameiscalypso that does make me feel better thank you, the notes said that they couldn't see anything obviously wrong with baby to indicate why this might be so hopefully it will just be one of those things

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 31/07/2019 10:20

Hi everyone. I was due on July 27th but have gone over and am so fucking fed up. DD was born 40+13 so I reckon I'm in for the long haul again Angry

I have plenty of minor symptoms and lost a tiny bit of plug last week but read up that 2nd time mums can lose plug ages before birth as our cervixes never properly close up following a first child...
So I can't even obsess about imminent birth Sad

Aarrgghhhhhh so over pregnancy now.
Hope everyone is well and coping. At least it's not so baking anymore...

Lexyness · 31/07/2019 10:49

@dontbuyanewmumcashmere welcome!
Sorry you’ve gone overdue! Sending some labour vibes your way!
And yes I’m on dc4 and mw told me yesterday (38weeks) that I’m 2cm dilated and that is normal for mums who’ve had previous babies! Disheartening in a way but I suppose that’s 2 less cms I have to dilate 🤣 x

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 31/07/2019 11:55

That's a good way of looking at it Grin
A bit less to do later on... Lol

Lexyness · 31/07/2019 16:39

Update! Most definitely lost my mucous plug earlier! Couldn’t believe how much there was (sorry tmi) never had that much in the past! Been for a long (considering I’m struggling to) walk and had low back ache but that’s about it! My mum is convinced I should’ve phoned the hospital and insisted I go in but there’s literally nothing else happening 🤣
Besides I have been told I’m not allowed a baby in July, AND parents are out tonight and husband is going to collect a car 3 hours away! Helpful! Lol x

Chocolatedaim · 31/07/2019 19:01

Ooo lexyness keep us up to date!!

I think I may have lost the mucus plug this morning, but I’m not sure, I had some weird discharge when I went to the loo in the night but it wasn’t bloody or brown in colour, and I was half asleep so didn’t really cotton on. Then throughout this morning every time I wiped after having a wee (sorry TMI!) there was mucus like gloop, but again not bloody or brown 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have lower back ache but that’s kind of normal for the end of the working day.

I have my MW app tomorrow afternoon, then finish work Friday. My one cat is going mad, he keeps weeing on the carpet, so my house now smells of zoflora. I’m secretly hoping the scrubbing will help get baby moving!

Lexyness · 31/07/2019 21:53

@Chocolatedaim it does sound like your plug, but I was reading up on it and they class it as a ‘show’ apparently when it’s blood tinged 🤷🏼‍♀️ Suppose it depends who you speak to and what you read! Mine was greeny, with definite blood tinge and some brown as well, and quite a bit of it! Then later on I had a little bit more of stringy brown tinged mucous! Bump is quite tight, but she is still fairly active, just feels different now. Done loadsa walking and I can fell everything going south and I’m achey but I still don’t think anything’s likely to happen! Where as the whole of my (little) town seem to know and think I’ll be having a baby overnight 🤣

PhoebeBear · 31/07/2019 23:17

I don't have much to update from this end 😔
I don't think it was my bloody show that I had last night because nothing has happened since. I honestly believe the blood was just from having sex and maybe because my cervix is getting softer?
I've had a lot more period like feelings and a bit of back ache but no contractions etc.. 39 weeks now so thought i would have some sign of labour impending hmm

Snowflake9 · 01/08/2019 06:27

Oh goodness! Losing plugs, backaches. Sounds like we are going to have 2 babies very soon!! It can take a few days I have heard from losing the plug to going into labour.

I am 36+3 today and have definitely had an increase in discharge this past week. Still have a few weeks left though! Only 7 working days left at work. NOT that I am counting down. Haha.

Hope everyone has a good day xx

Firsttimemumdueaugust · 01/08/2019 07:32

So today is my due date and I have a sweep booked! So ready for this baby to come out now.
Sounds hopefully for all you ladies too!

Chocolatedaim · 01/08/2019 07:41

Good luck firstimemomdueaugust

Since the peculiar discharge yesterday and slight back ache I’ve had nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe it wasn’t the plug after all! Off to see MW later, tempted to ask her if she will do a sweep.
Lots of chilli for me over the next few days. Drinking thyme tea like my neighbour suggested but it’s costing me a fortune in fresh thyme hahaha

ZazuMoon · 01/08/2019 07:48

Good luck everyone! I also lost my plug at the weekend but nothing since then. A couple of weeks earlier than I'd like so I'm happy to sit tight rather than rush in for a section.

Lexyness · 01/08/2019 08:05

Morning! I’m still baby baking here! As I suspected, nothing exciting happened overnight! Did wake up around 5 with back ache again and thought it might all be starting (that’s what happened with my others) but went back to sleep and all was fine!
I have another sweep this morning so maybe that will kick start something more 🤷🏼‍♀️
Good luck to everyone due/overdue or with signs xxx

Xyzzzzz · 01/08/2019 11:12

I’m on mat leave now! But due to be induced on Saturday. So I called and asked the hospital if there’s a timescale during which they call. They said no it can be at any point so I guess I’m just waiting round.

Chocolatedaim · 01/08/2019 12:57

Xyzzzzz

I’ve been thinking about you! How are you doing? I was prescribed Sertraline at the beginning of this pregnancy for anxiety and depression. It took a while to kick in but it really helped me once my body was used to it.
