@Lexyness what a time you've been having!! How come they can't get labetalol for you? That sounds so stressful and it's ridiculous that they might have to deliver you early because they can't get the meds!
Here's hoping baby hippo and you have a happy and healthy birth! Keep us updated on here!
Hugs from me and wee Sproggy (our nickname!) Grin

36 weeks today, and 2 weeks left in the sweat box. (my office) had lots of period type back ache and pains below, so something must be shifting down there! Wish I could stay at home in my lovely air conditioned house. Although they can legally make me take my mat leave early now so just need to suck it up.

My hands and ankles really ache this morning too. Not in a good mood at all.

@Lexyness you sound as though you have had a right weekend of it!

Anyone else want to buy one of my t shirts ?

Going to get

"I have 4 weeks left, not any second thanks"

"Anytime I step outside it's like I am.entering the burning depths of hell, that's how I am coping in the heat"

"I have never met you , do not comment on the size of my bump. "

😂😂

Lexyness · 29/07/2019 07:34

@snowflake9 🤣 great T-shirt’s!

@happygoluckyhippo I was told about 12+ weeks ago there’s a national shortage of labetalol. Even so far as my consultant knew about it so wrote me out a new prescription for ‘if & when’ I ran out! My pharmacy have been great and have scoured other pharmacies trying to get it for me, even last time got me a lower dose so needed to get a new prescription and take 2 tablets but it saw me through until roughly 2 weeks ago. Then I couldn’t get hold of my new tablet either - same issue! Managed to get another different 1 but - it isn’t keeping my bp down like labetalol did 😞 but it’s ‘just’ within the safe zone. However now the pharmacy can’t get that tablet either 🤦🏼‍♀️ Being rural we don’t have many options but I’ve got a scan tmrw so I’m going to phone Asda pharmacy (near-ish to my scan) and see if their pharmacy has any! I don’t wanna be going into hospital on Friday just for tablets and then have to go back for induction Saturday! (It’s a veeeeeery long drive to hospital in tourist season!)

Chocolatedaim · 29/07/2019 07:44

Morning
38+4 here.
I have woken up with achy legs and ankles too, despite taking it very easy this weekend.
Grateful for cooler temperatures this week, I wonder if any of us will be welcoming babies? 😁 I have a feeling mine with arrive 3.08.2019, not sure why 🤷🏻‍♀️

bakingbabyv · 29/07/2019 07:51

Morning all ❤️

39 weeks today 🙌🏼 and still very much pregnant 🙃. Still having lots of false labour signs, period pains, back ache etc. Trying not to get too fuming that nothings happening and hoping that it's the start of something. Have a sweep booked for next Tuesday where I'll be 40+1 and like you @Chocolatedaim I have a very strong feeling about a date, mines the 9th August and I have no idea why!

Hope everyone is well 😊

I'm trying to do lots of nesting but finding it impossible. I've got a list as long as my arm but naps with my toddler always seem to take priority 😂

Xx

Snowflake9 · 29/07/2019 08:08

@bakingbabyv naps are very very important! I actually fell asleep at the home office desk yesterday. Fell asleep in the chair for a good 30 mins. 😂 As for nesting?

This is my first, so I have washed and ironed all the clothes, and put together the Moses basket. That's about it. I am pretty OCD so my house is always being cleaned.i do want to do some batch cooking though so that we have go to food in the freezer.

With a sweep, do you have one if you get to 40 weeks?

Also, all these bp tablet shortage is insane! Hope you ladies can get what you need.

I have MW tomorrow where we are going to be discussing birth plans (hopefully) thing is I have no idea what I want. Open to the thought of a birthing pool (lots available at Bristol) anyone else here had a water birth?

Xyzzzzz · 29/07/2019 08:39

@snowflake9 I think I need your t shirts I’m 38+2 and due to finish work this week but for the past month that’s all the questions at work I’ve had!

Also had random people try to touch my bump but I stop them! I hate that people think it’s public property.

Lexyness · 29/07/2019 09:30

@Snowflake9 I had a water birth with my first! Totally amazing! Highly recommend it! I was contracting every minute but was so relaxed whilst in there I actually fell asleep in between my contractions and my DH had to hold my head for me 🤣
One bit of advice - if you go for it - no one ever told me I was to pee in the pool! I was in there ages and never had a wee, was pretty much abandoned by the midwives until shift change! Then my community mw came on shift and asked when I last had a pee - couldn’t remember ever having one and couldn’t do one by time I got out and tried, so needed catheterising! After that it was quick and smooth sailing! The whole labour would’ve been quicker had the midwives actually told me to just pee in the pool when I needed to and also if they had have checked up on me once in a while! I didn’t have time to even fill the pool with my other 2!
I’m in a quandary what to write in my birth plan because of my unusual induction on Saturday 🤷🏼‍♀️ Only having waters broken, fingers crossed 🤞🏻 But mw says I will need a cannula put in just in case so the only thing I can think to write is where I would prefer they put it!

PhoebeBear · 29/07/2019 10:24

Also 38+4 and not having many pre labour signs at all. Someone mentioned to me yesterday if I've had any contractions and honestly I'm not even sure if I've had Braxton hicks yet, there's just nothing going on apart from the odd period cramp.
I'm also hoping for water birth @Snowflake9 as I've heard such good experiences!

bakingbabyv · 29/07/2019 15:46

@Snowflake9 in my area, you get a sweep at 40 weeks if you're 1st time Mum & 41 if you're 2nd time. I think my midwife felt sorry for me the other day so has booked me one before 41 😂 but has said if I don't feel ready I don't have to have one. But then some midwifes give you them before 40 weeks, I honestly think it's just who you see tbh.

Feel like I can't keep still today. Saw a friend this morning, she was my bridesmaid at my wedding but we had a huge falling out last year and we hadn't spoken since, she's recently had a baby and we've kind of rekindled our friendship and it was really nice. Since I've been back I've cleaned, prepped dinner, finally sorted my hospital bag out & sat down to have some snacks with the toddler. Now I feel I need to get back up and do something but I don't know what.... is this nesting?! 😂 I'm also getting period pains when I'm sat and relaxed but they stop when I'm active... Just trying to think 'pain is progress'

@Xyzzzzz why do people think that when you're pregnant is a pass to touch your stomach 😭 someone did it to me in Primark a few weeks ago. I didn't even have time to stop them it all happened so quick 😂

Lexyness · 29/07/2019 16:35

I’m having a sweep tomorrow at 38Weeks (I’m on dc4 though and being induced on Saturday, so don’t know if that’ll make any difference as to why 🤷🏼‍♀️)
I really don’t think it’ll do anything as don’t think my body is ready - baby hippo is still so high up lol! c

Chocolatedaim · 29/07/2019 19:21

Good luck with your sweep lexy

My lovely neighbour (who suggested thyme tea) has just brought round a homemade jerk stew with extra spice 😊😊 she knows me so well!

I really don’t want to be induced again so I’m trying all the home remedies I can!!
Even tried sex last night but it was too funny to be exciting, my mammoth bump doesn’t allow for much 😂😂

happygoluckyhippo · 29/07/2019 19:34

@Lexyness oh I hadn't heard about the labetalol shortage! Got a three week prescription last week and no probs getting it. I'm north of the border though so maybe it's different?
Best of luck with the sweep and maybe you won't need the induction? Not long until baby in any case!!

My bump is getting so uncomfortable as well and this humid heat plus final week at work is a bit of a killer! Wish baby Sproggy would at least move his wee bum from under the right side of my ribcage!

All the best to everybody - nearly baby time for us all!!

Lexyness · 29/07/2019 20:23

Thank you @Chocolatedaim @happygoluckyhippo!

We are in Cornwall and there is literally zero labetalol! My pharmacist has been far and wide to try to get some! She has had to do the same with my new meds, but thankfully she has managed to get me another months worth so I can breathe says now as I have at least enough until a few weeks after the birth! Phew! (She did say she’d have travelled way up country to get me some if necessary so I didn’t have to be admitted early bless her!)
I’ve walked down my steep hill into town and back up again today - haaaaaaaard work but I’m determined to move things along lol. And currently sat on the corner of my bed bouncing (I don’t have a birthing ball) I can definitely feel something going on down there but whether it will be successful or not remains to be seen!
Not long now ladies - wonder who will go first - some of you are further along than me so possibly not me lol x

ZazuMoon · 29/07/2019 20:40

I had my 'show' over the weekend. First child so don't really know what to expect. A little earlier than I'd like as c section not due for 3 weeks. Hopefully he will stay put for a week or two yet.

Snowflake9 · 29/07/2019 21:37

Getting very sharp pains , feels like a hot poker up my Minnie. Anyone else?
.been having period type pains for a few days now too and in my hips.

Well done on climbing your hill @lexyness!

I am convinced this baby is going to come on my birthday 12tg August...

Snowflake9 · 30/07/2019 06:35

TMI alert!!!.

So last night I genuinely had a "Did I just pee myself or did my waters just go?" Moment.

Think it was the first thought. Only a trickle. so embarrassing!! Luckily I was at home and it must have been as baby was so low it pushed on my bladder!

Excited to see temps are going to be Under 20 today here!!

Also, I am going to midwife at 11:20, now my company is really old school and said without saying when I first told them I was pregnant that even though appointments don't lawfully need the time making up, it may make my colleagues feel resentful.

So I stupidly work through my lunch breaks at work, or just take 15 minutes instead of the full hour if I have an appointment, today I have MW at 11:20 and need to make a very important phone call at 1 (when lunch is) so am going to be firm and say, I am taking my full hour today. Wish me luck!

@zazumoon have you had any twinges or anything? Did you speak to MW about your show?

bakingbabyv · 30/07/2019 06:53

@Snowflake9 aaaaah the wonder fanny daggers. They are just my fave 😂. They're hideous!!

Good luck today @Lexyness ❤️ hopefully the sweep gets baby moving!

@Chocolatedaim what a lovely neighbour! So nice when people are thoughtful.... I've said we need to DTD every other night, probably will be more times we DTD in the next week than we have in the whole 9 months 😂.

I've been getting on/off period pains & weird pains in my back the last 24 hours but I don't think it's anything to shout about, probably baby just getting ready. It can't come before Thursday anyway because I'm getting my lashes done and I feel like a naked mole rat atm 😂. Xx

Lexyness · 30/07/2019 08:52

@bakingbabyv thanks. Got my last scan this morning before my sweep - wonder how much this baby hippo is expected to weigh now 🤣

As for fanny daggers - oh the delights! I been getting them quite a lot and then the bugger moves back up and free again 🙈 soooo hoping she’s engaged to some degree at the sweep later!

Wish I could have my hair/nails/eyebrows/lashes done - I’ve felt naked the entire pregnancy. Worked so damn much haven’t had time to do anything and now only 4 days left! My hair hasn’t even been cut since I got pregnant let alone coloured! My luscious nails have all broken off now, can’t remember last time I had my eyebrows waxed - thankfully they’re very blonde so no one notices the bushes 😝 but I feel naked without them being tinted, and would love some lashes again! Can but dream lol!

PhoebeBear · 30/07/2019 09:22

@bakingbabyv I can relate with the lashes 😂 also I had a last minute thought the other day to go blonde all over (I currently have highlights) and I thought nope I'm not gonna risk it cause knowing my luck I'll be sitting there with colour on my hair, probably going through the brassy ginger phase, and my waters will break or something haha. I have 9 days til due date so I've been scrubbing off old tan and re applying just hoping it will look good in time for the big day.. not that I know I'll probably be bothered with I have a baby coming out my foof 🙄😂

ZazuMoon · 30/07/2019 09:30

@Snowflake9 no twinges but dull ache and diarrhoea (?!)
I hope your midwife appointment goes well. I too feel pressure to 'make up' the time I'm at maternity appointments.

@Lexyness good luck with your sweep.
@bakingbabyv 😂 naked mole rat! I don't have much in the way of visible eyelashes either.

Lexyness · 30/07/2019 16:08

Afternoon everyone! I’m back from my scan and MW app!
Baby is measuring a whopping 6lb13oz 😮 (of my 3dc already the biggest was 6lb6!) her head was too low down so she couldn’t measure it so it’s not a very accurate estimate though, will wait and see what her actual weight is on Saturday!
Great MW app! Head is firmly 3/5ths engaged & not going anywhere but down now (so 2/5 in pelvis and 3/5 still palpable) which is great Cos she’s been ‘free’ every other time! Although I’m led to believe usually they don’t engage the head until you’re actually in labour with subsequent babies? Cervix is soft but still thick (which means I’m not in labour but things are heading in the right direction) MW could feel baby’s head and get her fingers right round with the sweep (which was barely even uncomfortable tbh - but I have a high pain threshold) and I’m 2cm dilated! Best news is the MW said she could’ve broken the waters today if that was the plan so all should go well on Saturday - and MW is hopeful that ROM is all I will need to get things going! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!
MW also wants to take the credit if things get going before Saturday 🤣 and I have another sweep on Thursday if not - which is literally hours before my MW goes on holiday lol! Think she’s desperate for me to produce a baby before she goes as she’s seen my so much all over the past 24 weeks lol x

Snowflake9 · 30/07/2019 18:27

@ZazuMoon - I had diarrhea the other day, went about 4 times in the space of 2 hours. Bizarre.

@Lexyness so happy to hear you had a great appointment with the MW. Fingers crossed for you!

I ended up working through my lunch as we were 2 people down today. 8 more working days left, then boom. I can be on mat leave!!!! X

Chocolatedaim · 30/07/2019 19:40

lexyness wow I’m so jealous that all sounds so promising 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Fingers crossed for you!!

I decided to have a shave down below last week, stupid idea, I’m itching like hell now 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I do want to go and have a pedicure though. Prior to being the size of a whale, I used to run half marathons, so my feet have taken a bit of a battering over the years. I feel like they are over due a pampering.

I have MW app Thursday afternoon and then I finish work Friday. I can’t wait!!

My daughter has been invited to a few birthday parties over the month of August so I am trying to be organised and buy all the birthday gifts this week, otherwise I will not remember once baby arrives.

I’ve been washing all the crib sheets, dd’s old sling, and sleepyhead covers today. Feel like I’m getting there. If he happened to come tomorrow (please don’t!) we have everything ready...ish!

Hope you all have a good evening x

ZazuMoon · 30/07/2019 22:11

@Snowflake9 mine has stopped now as suddenly as it started. Very strange. Not long to go now until you are on leave! Tomorrow is my last day and then I am using up annual leave until original due date, although he may well be somewhat earlier at this rate.

@Chocolatedaim I'm taking inspiration from PP and having my first ever eyelash and brow tint as I am very fair and hoping I might look less like Gollum from Lord of the Rings that way. Hopefully I won't go the other way and end up looking like an angry bird.
