As Kourtney Kardashian once said 'Kim, there's people that are dying.'

THIS MADE ME ACTUALLY PEE. yep. I love KUWTK and often check myself with this!

So today got to about 32 in our office, tomorrow is going to be even hotter.

My hands are so sore, almost like arthritis.

Have another 3 weeks left at work but can see me leaving earlier at this rate. I can't cope with the heat 😅😅😅

Lexyness · 22/07/2019 19:15

@kittytiggypeggy

Love your story 🤣
I have spent my day lounging in between work - everytime I got to work my colleague had already done everything so I ended up coming home having done nothing 😝 feel bad but also fine by me as my waddling has fully set in now!
I have been trying to finish a blanket I started for LO months ago, same as you, lost all enthusiasm! Never done crochet square blankets before and never will again! Prefer hats cardigans and booties if I’m honest! This is gonna be the most dodgy higgledy piggledy blanket known to man but it is one of a kind and it’s made with love lol!
I shoved stuff in slow cooker earlier so tea was an easy one for me too, couldn’t be standing cooking in this blasted heat/humidity, I’m literally melting! I shall be having some ice cream later on and may also send dh to get some chocolate too 😝

Result on finding the voucher too! Hubby went in my bag last night to get money for Chinese and told me there was only £40 in there (which he spent!) I had a slight melt down over it this morning but when he double checked he found loads more money, so win win for me too! Bet it doesn’t last 2 minutes though with the summer holidays approaching! x

ZazuMoon · 22/07/2019 22:02

How's everyone coping with the heat? It feels neverending. I gave in over the weekend and ordered air conditioning which DH and FIL installed tonight. Yes, it looks like we have R2 D2 in the bedroom with us but I don't care because it's cold!

Kathryn19 · 22/07/2019 22:23

@ZazuMoon really not coping with the heat Sad have got a fan at last. Not sure if I can handle dragging myself into central London this week, but feel I should show my face soon! Really don't want to have to put on proper clothes!!!

Lexyness · 22/07/2019 22:28

I have an air con unit in my bedroom too @ZazuMoon trying not to use it too much as we are on a key meter for the electric so it’s costing a fortune 🙈 but it’s also so very much appreciated because I’m melting! It looked horrible all day here - like winter, and yet boiling hot and humid! Can’t be dealing with much more of this. And even hotter tomorrow 😭 x

ZazuMoon · 22/07/2019 22:49

Urgh @Kathryn19 I don't envy you, having to go to central London. I'm going to have to go to actual work on Wednesday instead of working from home. My office is like a greenhouse 😭 @Lexyness I've decided running the air con is cheaper than me trying to go to a cafe and work or my commuting costs and for my own sanity!

Kathryn19 · 22/07/2019 23:07

@ZazuMoon I'm trying to work out how many days from home are acceptable! I only went in twice last week so feel bad. But on the other hand, mostly working by myself this week anyway...

bakingbabyv · 23/07/2019 06:37

I. Am. Exhausted 😭

I've got a midwife appointment today (38 week one) and I never sleep well before appointments but last night was ridiculous 😭 I'm sure I've been awake since 3am...

Felt every emotion yesterday, I was needy, emotional, happy and angry all in 12 hours so I'm hoping it's a labour sign 😂.

DS was up at 5:30am today too and he's being a shit already so today is going to be GREAT.

Sorry I'm such a whingy pregnant woman today.

Hope everyone is okay ❤️

Snowflake9 · 23/07/2019 06:45

My husband installed central air conditioning to our house last year. It is literally heaven. So much so I am considering finishing work early and kick starting my mat leave early. Come 4 o clock it is hell in my office. Made even better by everyone commenting on how hot it is. My boss will not consider air conditioning, even though yesterday it got up to 31 degrees in there! Today is going to be worse.

Anyone else get under the bump sweat? 😂😂

Wishing you all a productive Tuesday!

Chocolatedaim · 23/07/2019 07:40

Oh it’s only Tuesday!
The next 8days at work are going to go so slowly...
I’m a childminder so I’m planning lots of activities where I can stay cool. Cinema today, paddling pool tomorrow, museum Thursday.
I’m also really emotional, I go from exhausted, to stressed, to happy, to crying all within 15mins 🤦🏻‍♀️ My poor DH.

Lexyness · 23/07/2019 08:32

Oh no @chocolatedaim - sounds like he’ll childminding in this heat!
@ZazuMoon I don’t have the luxury of working from home as I’m a private carer - and the ladies I look after are always cold! 1 still has her storage heaters on AND a portable dyson airblade which she sets to about 37 degrees 🤒 it is nice driving there with the air con on full blast in the car tho lol!
@bakingbabyv I actually slept ok last night, might’ve been because I cooked the room down with the air con before getting in bed maybe 🤷🏼‍♀️ Only got up once for a wee but could barely walk when I stood up and nearly peed on carpet 🤣 and managed to get straight back to sleep after! My only bug bear was the next door neighbours dog woke me up yapping outside my window at some point when I was actually fat asleep 🤦🏼‍♀️

ZazuMoon · 23/07/2019 10:54

@Snowflake9 same where I work. Air con in the main areas which are vast so it is of little effect, then the tiny little glass offices have no air con so we are all sweltering. I have rib sweat-is that even a thing?! 😅

@Lexyness that sounds horrible. I didn't mean to rub it in about working from home- usually I have to go in but it's only good timing that means I can (mostly) work on something from home for the last month.

@Kathryn19 I only went in once last week but worked from DH's office instead as it has functioning air con. I figured that was more productive than commuting 3 hours to sweat and listen to everyone tell each other how hot it is!

Lexyness · 23/07/2019 11:02

I’m melting! Hotter than I’ve ever felt before! How many cold showers a day is considered acceptable?
Plus blood pressure still high (not too bad but borderline) despite them doubling my dose on Friday. And I have a headache! Thought I might get some cleaning done today but that definitely ain’t happening now! How are you all coping?

37weeks today, yay!

ricecrispiecake · 23/07/2019 11:13

It's hot. I'm not coping well at all, I feel constantly nauseous and like I have constipation and diarrhoea at the same time, is that even a thing? Sorry for the tmi 🤣
Seriously fed up though, 1 week and 4 days to go 🎉 & got a growth scan tomorrow.

Lexyness · 23/07/2019 12:09

@ricecrispiecake Yeeeesssss! Didn’t know how to describe it but yes constipation and diarrhoea at same time lol!
Good luck for your scan tomorrow, mine is a week today x

Chocolatedaim · 23/07/2019 12:17

Honestly people keep saying to me they are hot, if you aren’t pregnant you have no right to complain 🥵🥵🥵 (only half joking 😆)

ricecrispiecake · 23/07/2019 13:30

@Lexyness sorry you're feeling the same but relieved to hear it's not just me! Thank you & good luck with yours too!

Hoping that I won't need to be induced, going for a vbac this time around and was induced with my first so didn't really have a pleasant experience.

Snowflake9 · 24/07/2019 07:27

Good morning!

So I slept reasonably well, but yesterday was absolute hell. It got to 32 degrees in the office and I literally felt like there was no air and I couldn't breathe!!

Today should be cooler here thank goodness. I have the health visitor coming today to introduce herself. Anyone else had this?

Is anyone else swelling alot??

Chocolatedaim · 24/07/2019 08:18

Morning snowflake

My ankles have swollen which is really bizarre to see. This didn’t happen first time round, but then maybe that was because Dd was January born 🤷🏻‍♀️
Mixture of weather and being slightly older has meant that I have found this pregnancy physically harder towards the end. I’m 38weeks tomorrow. Toying with the idea of finishing work a week early.

Hope everyone is keeping well, stay hydrated!!

Lexyness · 24/07/2019 09:53

Morning @Snowflake9
I was so uncomfortable last night, loadsa BH & movement plus mild period pains which at first I thought might be the beginnings of labour (so did dh I think) however once I got to sleep I too slept reasonably well with just 1 toilet dash!

I don’t seem to be swelling despite my current blood pressure issues! And am enjoying the cooler weather!
I haven’t heard from HV or even been introduced despite MW telling me months ago she had referred me and I would get a pre-birth visit and probably never see her again if everything was ok (they don’t have the funding for anything here so just stick with seeing those in desperate need apparently) it maybe dc4 for me but I lived hundreds of miles away before and there has been an 8year gap too, so I might’ve liked some support, but heyho - don’t even know what her name is! Oh and I have no red book (or whatever colour it is these days! Which HV was supposed to bring me!)
I was also supposed to get a home visit from my MW but never did, however cos of my bp issues yesterday she is coming to check it at my house on Thursday as that was the only way we could both fit it in (leavers assembly at school tmrw 😭 and then kids finish early so I can’t make clinic because it’s like 30min drive away!)
hope everyone has a more comfortable day today xxx

Snowflake9 · 24/07/2019 12:08

I have been at work for the last hour experiencing BH and alot of period type pains below.. to the point where I couldn't actually talk. Died off now though.

Home now and waiting for HV. Hope she doesn't want to snoop around haha.

Have already drank 2 litres today of water! Getting my hair chopped off later too so hopefully want be as hot at work.

Enjoy the rest of hump day ladies!

Snowflake9 · 24/07/2019 12:12

@lexyness you should ask your midwife to put you in contact with HV. If you would like to see one, you really should be able to and they should accommodate that!

Lexyness · 24/07/2019 12:30

@snowflake9 thanks I will speak to MW tomorrow when she comes! As far as I’m aware I’m supposed to have the red book before baby is born (if possible) and take it to the hospital with me - sure that’s what MW said a while back! x

Snowflake9 · 24/07/2019 13:11

Well my health visitor was here for 15 minutes, she was really nice but didn't give me a red book. I am guessing I'll get it at hospital?

Hope MW goes ok tomorrow!
