@kittytiggy aw how lovely and exciting. I currently have DS who is 5 and I am expecting another boy!
How about you?

This pregnancy insomnia is honestly the worst I can fall to sleep but feels impossible to stay asleep the whole night.
I've not had any talk of a sweep or anything like that so feeling pretty anxious and just hoping things start themselves. I have a growth scan next Wednesday so hopefully maybe we'll know more by then.

kittytiggypeggy · 21/07/2019 18:16

Hi all! 35+5 today - only 2 more days of work!!! Then I'm on maternity leave :)
You may have noticed that I've had a cheeky username change as the husband brought home a surprise husky puppy yesterday evening. I shit you not. I was furious. Of course I love my 2 dogs like I love DS but ffs - a puppy as well as my two 5 year old huskies that are literally still puppies themselves and A BABY ARRIVING IN A FEW WEEKS. how ignorant can you get? he's at work all day!

anyway little Peggy is actually v v v cute and I did warm up eventually. She is currently on my lap and I'm still resentful to H (he is not getting the darling added to it atm) but I adore her Grin so had to add lil P to my username as didn't want her feeling left out from her big bro and sis. what am I like

how tf am i gonna cope with 2 babies? plus 2 crazy adult huskies and a high maintenance toddler??? oh well, we shall see.

@ricecrispiecake get a pregnancy pillow - lifesaver! I already have DS and I'm having a GIRL!

Xyzzzzz · 21/07/2019 18:37

Congrats @kittytiggy I’m still working. I’m 37 weeks now will probs finish next week. I’m not too fussed about going early lol.

Snowflake9 · 21/07/2019 19:13

I would freak out if my husband bought home a puppy now!

We had our antenatal NHS class yesterday, my MW is useless I swear. Told me it ws 9:30-12:30. Got there was told it didn't start till 10, so we went for a walk and came back. The instructor midwife leading the class then says it's going on until 5:30 pm! After 3 hours and her basically terrifying us and every other couple in there with the horrors of labour we left.

Some phrases used

"You are not going to have a quick labour like in the film's, you will be in labour for 15 hours" (my best friends first spontaneous labour was 2 hours ... )

"You are all lucky enough to give birth at the hottest time of the year, and the delivery wards do not have air conditioning , so bring a fan because they are few and far between"

She was so negative and scare mongering.

I have 3 weeks left at work. Will be leaving at 38 weeks as my maternity pay is crap so will need as much as I can get.

Also , can't wear my wedding/engagement ring any more as my fingers are so swollen.

I just want to meet my baby already!!

Lexyness · 21/07/2019 22:40

Evening! Had a super busy couple of days!
Managed to walk an entire carnival route yesterday (well I got in the van for the route back Cos I could barely stand by then) and we came first in our class 🏆, which is great advertising for my husbands business as it was all centred around that!
Since then every time I’m on my feet it feels like this baby is going to fall out! Bump drops, aching inner thighs, Braxton hicks, back ache - the whole works! But I swear I’m having an acrobatic baby hippo! She doesn’t stop moving EVER!
Made the decision to start my maternity leave for 1 of my clients after this mornings visit. And have cut down on hours for my second client, will probably make next Monday the last day as hoping to get a sweep on Tuesday! One of my colleagues is also going to come round and clean my house as a maternity present 🤣 love her to bits!
Also worked all weekend and extra with helping dh with his work (other than carnival) and had to get everything ready and sorted & packed for DD’s residential tomorrow 😭 how can my baby girl be leaving primary school this week! I’m going to be an emotional wreck all week - I cried at her play last week and she only said like 1 word right at the beginning and I was blubbing for an hour! I’ll drop her to school first thing tmrw then blub all the way to work, pick her up Wednesday and blub some more then leavers assembly thursday I’ll be uncontrollable by then 😳😭 I was bad enough last year with ds1 and that without being pregnant lol!

PhoebeBear · 22/07/2019 01:11

Ladies I have two weeks left and all of a sudden I've became really really scared! I'm very excited too but also sh**ing my pants now! Haven't had anymore aches or pains but I can feel whenever he moves his head right in my pelvis. Just so so scared and don't know what will calm my nerves (hence writing this post so late on at night)

Snowflake9 · 22/07/2019 06:41

@PhoebeBear I think this is completely normal. I often sit and the wave.of fear washes over me. Just know that you are strong, you are built for this and everything will be ok. Your body knows what to do.

I read last night that your body can still give birth naturally if you were in a coma! That's going to be my mantra , my body will do what it needs to do.

Hoping the mum stuff kicks in straight away too. I heard it does.

It's ok to be scared, just make sure that your head voice rationalises it. Xx

ricecrispiecake · 22/07/2019 07:58

Slowly counting down the days! 1 week and 5 days left. Feels like time is slowing down, the waiting is just horrible.
@kittytiggypeggy I borrowed a pregnancy pillow from a friend last night and I have to say I did have a decent sleep. I think I may have to invest.
Hope the latest addition to you family is settling in well! I can't say I'd be best pleased if DP brought home a dog, though I wouldn't put it past him, he would absolutely love one.

Snowflake9 · 22/07/2019 08:01

My friend leant me hear full body pregnancy pillow when I was around 24 weeks, I can't sleep without it. I travelled to my parents to stay last weekend and could not get comfy!

My husband likes it too, tries to steal it!!

ZazuMoon · 22/07/2019 10:32

Hello everyone, how are you all coping? 4 weeks to go for me- baby might have to come out a little earlier though as his growth has really spiked the last couple of weeks. I'm only small so I'm really feeling it. Last full week of work and then off 1st of August. Baby has decided to start doing some sort of weird bum shuffle going up my body which he really does not have room for- he's like an overgrown dog that still tries to squeeze on people's laps! 😁

Chocolatedaim · 22/07/2019 10:49

Hello everyone
I finish work next week and it can’t come quick enough!
Just packing my bag, have I missed anything do you reckon;

Due August?
Lexyness · 22/07/2019 11:02

@chocolatedaim
My list looks waaaaaay longer than yours and I’m a relatively light packer lol! (Years of experience holidaying with 3 kids on hand luggage lol)
Can’t remember exactly what’s on yours but here are a few things which you may not have considered and may come in handy:
Flip flops (for showering in)
Eye mask (to help you sleep)
Ear plugs
Plastic bag for dirty clothes
Lip balm (lips can get very dry and cracked in hot delivery suites)
Cooling spray?
Handheld fan
Phone charger
Snacks & drinks (and extra for birthing partner)
Straw (to make drinking easier so birthing partner can hold drink!)

Hope that helps x

Lexyness · 22/07/2019 11:03

And don’t forget baby’s car seat needs to be in the car for when the time comes too! x

Chocolatedaim · 22/07/2019 11:04

Lexy thank you, I have a fan and flip flops.

I had forgotten about snacks and phone charger!!
I think I will do a little trip to boots and get lip balm and eye mask. Thank you x

Chocolatedaim · 22/07/2019 11:06

Yes, I wasn't planning on taking car seat with me, I thought I would leave that at home and DH can go back for it...he will probably want to shower and freshen up anyway. We only live 20min walking distance from birthing suite.

Lexyness · 22/07/2019 11:12

@chocolatedaim

That’s ok then - I haven't the same luxury unfortunately, we live minimum of an hours drive away and the roads are going to be manic with all the extra tourist traffic in August! Hence why I’m being induced in 12 days - don’t think I would make it to hospital in time otherwise lol!
I’m hoping not to need half the items I suggested as I want to go home ASAP! Wanted a home birth but I’m too high risk so have to be on delivery suite - not even allowed birth centre 😞 but it makes no odds tbh as they are just as far away as the hospital lol x

Chocolatedaim · 22/07/2019 11:24

I wanted a home birth but I lost a litre of blood with Dd, I was induced and put on hormone drip which is what they think caused the blood loss. The consultant has since said I should never have been induced in first place, so they have allowed birthing suite for me this time round.

Chocolatedaim · 22/07/2019 11:38

Will I need to take a breast pump?
I plan on bf as much as possible again, I know it takes a few days for milk to come in.

I feel like I have forgotten everything

Lexyness · 22/07/2019 13:25

I’ve had 3 dc and never taken a pump to the hospital 🤔 I think unless you are expecting baby to be on nicu then you shouldn’t have the need to express any milk. (Although I believe they suggest hand expressing into a cup/syringe in the early days) And even if you do there should be pumps available to use there as far as my experience goes (where I used to work we called the massive pump big Bertha 🤣)
However, my current youngest is 8 so it may have completely changed since then lol
I intend on fully breast feeding, I’m not taking bottles or anything with me except my boobs lol! I think there is also some evidence not to start expressing until a few weeks in unless absolutely necessary - but again it’s been a long time for me so that could be completely wrong or I may have made it up in fact 🤣 x

Chocolatedaim · 22/07/2019 13:43

To be honest I don’t think it’s necessary I just started to second guess everything. I’m 37+4 now and trying to be as organised as possible

bakingbabyv · 22/07/2019 13:45

Due 5th August! Very impatient now 😭

kittytiggypeggy · 22/07/2019 14:01

Hi all! Still pissy with the husband but Peggy is adorable! Worked this morning and now home (36 weeks tomorrow ahhhsh). roll on the 20th. And thank you for the hospital list, things I should of packed with DS - hope you're all ok

Lexyness · 22/07/2019 14:43

@Chocolatedaim yes I know what you mean - I’m second guessing things too!

@bakingbabyv I’m feeling super impatient too, think I’m overdoing it by still being at work so getting tonnes of BH and back ache and thinking it’s maybe all happening, but sadly not! Only 12 days until induction tho x

@kittytiggypeggy hope little Peggy is super well behaved for you and all settled in when baby arrives x

TwistyTop · 22/07/2019 14:55

I'm 36 weeks on Friday. Hoping not to go over as I'm so uncomfortable! Think I've forgotten everything. I've prepared so much but I feel like we're not ready at sll

kittytiggypeggy · 22/07/2019 17:27

@Lexyness I can assure you she is not well behaved!!! tearing my fucking hair out - she is shitting and pissing everywhere, my other huskies are getting jealous I think which is a pain and the toddler is being extra moany today. I couldn't give little P up now though! As Kourtney Kardashian once said 'Kim, there's people that are dying.'

I feel so full and uncomfortable, so have planned to spend the rest of the day doing fuck all Grin. I've bunged some jacket potatoes in the oven and am now lying in my pregnancy pillow on my bed binge watching KUWTK and starting off a blanket for baba. (watch me enthusiastically do this for about 3 days and then lose interest lol). Bought the toddler some thinking putty on my way back from work and he is in love! YAS! Then when I've chucked some beans in the microwave and made tea I'm gonna grab some chocolate sharebags and devour them whilst watching love island. Hope you enjoyed me life story.

PS was looking for the fiver I dropped behind the bed and found a 20 quid next voucher which hadn't been used. Ended up buying this, what a win :)))

Are we all well? x
