And so ready to have their baby??!!

I have my sweep booked in and I'm convinced I'll be overdue! I just don't want to be pregnant for 1 more week let alone 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DoingItForTheKids · 29/05/2019 20:27

@Furble glad to hear you've got positive test results back. It must have been an agonising few days.

Furble · 30/05/2019 09:53

Any babies make an arrival overnight? Hope those mums in labour or nearing labour are doing ok 🤞🤞💪💪

We’re still in hospital with our new DS (we’ve called him William or Billy for short). He’s receiving sodium supplements now to see if we can bring them up. It’s day five and DH and I are a bit fed up of the same four walls but we’re happy to be in the best of hands here.

How are all the other new mums doing?

cja06 · 30/05/2019 10:46

@Furble sorry to hear you're still in hospital. Hopefully you'll be out soon and can relax at home with your new bundle.

Still no movement with me. I've been having tonnes of BH (every 5 mins) but no actual contractions. Frustrating being so close and unable to do anything but wait. Going out for a walk soon to see if that helps.

Lorrie3 · 30/05/2019 10:56

Still here too 🤯 had lots of strong BH for about 2 hours after the sweep and then nothing. So I'm being induced tomorrow...so all positive induction stories welcome! 1st baby so no idea what to expect and a little dissapointed I'm facing induction but not a whole lot I can do about it now!

Tayel · 30/05/2019 12:18

@furble hoping you can all go home soon and enjoy your new boy in the comfort of your own home!

Ive lost my mucus plug this morning and having some period like pains but not getting my hopes up! Secretly hoping i go into labour before induction on Monday though

Tayel · 30/05/2019 18:48

Im still having contractions since midday, been about every 7 minutes and lasting a minute at a time. (Been like that for about 3 hours)

How long was your contractions at home for ladies?

Furble · 30/05/2019 21:03

Hi Tayel congrats that’s really exciting! My advice would be if you can still breathe through them to stay at home as long as possible. I left home when I had been having 3 in ten mins, each lasting a minute for about an hour and I was just reaching the point where I didn’t think I could handle the pain anymore. When I was examined I was 5cm and able to have the gas immediately which was wonderful.

DoingItForTheKids · 31/05/2019 09:42

Still here too 40+5 now. So many false starts now it's really annoying! 2 weeks so far of on off contractions.....

First was born a week late though so still hopefully it's any day not another week!

cowchickenduckdog · 31/05/2019 10:18

@DoingItForTheKids I’m 40 + 5 too although I’ve not even had an ounce of indication that anything is moving forward!! Starting to think I’m growing an adult 😫 if it’s a boy he’ll come out with a beard at this rate!! I’ve tried spicy food and yesterday tried to jiggle him/her out by going round the farm in the tractor...nothing! 🤣🙈 I’m back at work in our shop at the moment as it’s taking my mind off things lol 😆 fingers crossed today’s the day for us!!! Xx

cja06 · 31/05/2019 10:29

Still here too... 7 days overdue now and feeling quite fed up now.

Still can't believe I am just sat here 5cm dilated and still nothing seems to be progressing. My midwife was so tempted to break my waters but wasn't allowed so just waiting it out - induction on Tuesday if not.

VaselineHero · 31/05/2019 10:42

I'm here too. 40+3. I've had a bit of a show after the sweep yesterday (which was so uncomfortable) but the Dr said my cervix was still long so I guess I could still be waiting a while 😢

Jellybum2019 · 31/05/2019 11:02

40+3 for me too and literally no signs what so ever! Had a sweep on my due date but cervix was too far back so she couldn’t reach it very well. Had a stomach ache/minor cramps for about 15 minutes yesterday and hoped that would continue but it disappeared as quickly as it appeared! Desperate to see some sort of sign! Also not looking to a red hot weekend whilst heavily pregnant! Already got a paddling pool out ready and an umbrella and a few packs of ice pops in at attempt to keep cool but also try and get a last chance to relax in the garden. Hope everyone manages to stay cool as possible over the weekend Smile

DoingItForTheKids · 31/05/2019 11:50

@cowchickenduckdog with my first I had nothing at all too. No twinges. Nothing and bang on a week late the contractions started and we were away.

Pregnancy is just one massive mental agility course and not a fun one! 😂

Lorrie3 · 31/05/2019 14:21

Greetings from the induction bay!! Had a gel at 1030 and only starting to experience back pain now so I fear I'm hear for a bit 😭

cja06 · 31/05/2019 15:28

Good luck @Lorrie3

DoingItForTheKids · 01/06/2019 04:12

Hope you are doing ok @Lorrie3!

My waters broke about 2 hours ago but nothing major to report yet......

Lorrie3 · 01/06/2019 06:22

Baby Jo.. Born at 1.43am will add a pic soon. So in love 💕💕

Tayel · 01/06/2019 06:50

Congratulations @lorrie3!

I had baby girl yesterday after 12 hours of contractions then waters went then a further 16 hours of labour but with a epidural.

After all that I had a C section as I couldnt reach past 8cm! X

cja06 · 01/06/2019 09:35

Congrats @Lorrie3 and @Tayel on your safe arrivals.

cowchickenduckdog · 01/06/2019 10:31

Congrats @Lorrie3 and @Tayel and good luck @DoingItForTheKids !!!!
Am I the only one still waiting for something to happen? I'm 40 +6 now and not a twinge still. Still sat in my shop, still having to answer the same questions from the customers 'haven't you had it yet?!' lol Can't wait to join you all in the Mummy club xxxxxxx

Furble · 01/06/2019 10:47

Congratulations @Lorrie3
Baby Jo! Hope you are both doing ok! Wonderful news!

Congratulations @Tayel
A baby girl! Wonderful! I ended up with a c-section after my first in similar circumstances. Make sure you keep topped up with the pain killers, I promise you will get better quickly.

My advice to both of you would be to demand the lactulose as soon as possible (stool softener), get hubby to bring prunes, kiwis and oranges and drink lots of water. You’ll thank yourself in 24 hours time!

Well done ladies enjoy your precious new arrivals! 🎉🎉

cja06 · 01/06/2019 11:58

@cowchickenduckdog nope not just you. I'm 41 + 1 and have been 5cm dilated since at least Weds. My baby seems to be hanging on for dear life in there.

DoingItForTheKids · 01/06/2019 12:15

Hey all. Baby boy born at 7.18am this morning after only being in the hospital for 38mins! 9lb 2oz (small for me!) and both of us doing fine.

Congrats too @Lorrie3 and @Tayel! Here's to getting home soon!

cowchickenduckdog · 01/06/2019 12:26

@DoingItForTheKids Congratulations!! xxxxxx

DoingItForTheKids · 01/06/2019 20:00

Thank you @cowchickenduckdog

Good luck to the rest of you still waiting. I was due before all of my NCT lot last time and my daughter was born last so I know how frustrating it is to keep seeing others born. It will be you soon!!
