And so ready to have their baby??!!

I have my sweep booked in and I'm convinced I'll be overdue! I just don't want to be pregnant for 1 more week let alone 2!

@Furble Oh no! So not a great day after all!

How long will they give you to decide about the section? I suppose at least you know when the baby will be here etc.

@RiverMeadow

I’ve no idea to be honest. I could have had an ELCS at 39 weeks if I’d have decided on it sooner.

I think I just have to wait for Tuesday and see what the consultant says and continue to hope and pray that I go spontaneously before then. 🤞🤞

RiverMeadow · 24/05/2019 21:09

@Furble That makes sense, I suppose then you'll know where you stand with it all. Who knows, you could have a baby by then! 🤞

39w 5d. This is my second, my first was late so I only stopped working today as I'm expecting to be late again. Anything earlier than a week over would be a bonus.

I'd like to at least have the weekend to relax before the fun of having 2 kicks in though. Also want to try and spend some quality time with my daughter and husband before we become a 4.

Remember first time though that twinge watch was so thought consuming. It's nice being a bit more relaxed about it all this time!

DoingItForTheKids · 24/05/2019 22:10

Declined all sweeps last time and doing the same this time. I believe your body is either ready or not and sweeps just give you false hope!

oliviat93 · 24/05/2019 22:36

Sorry to hear the sweep wasn't a great one @Furble Sad I thought something might of happened for me today was hoping for it too. Had Braxton Hicks and cramps all day but they seem to have disappeared now Sad

Seem to keep getting my hopes up and then being disappointed! Really wishing for a natural labour and no induction!

Hope everyone's feeling better than I am!

RiverMeadow · 24/05/2019 22:50

I didn't have any sweeps last time but PGP has floored me this time so I'm willing to try anything out of desperation.

@oliviat93 I know exactly how you feel! Thanks

oliviat93 · 24/05/2019 22:54

@RiverMeadow well at least we know what each other are going through!

I've had had so many texts the past 2 days asking me about baby's arrival. Not that I need reminding baby isn't here yet Hmm I think I'm gonna drive my OH crazy while waiting..

RiverMeadow · 25/05/2019 06:53

My waters broke this morning! Hallelujah! I'm only 2cms dilated but will be getting induced tonight if labour doesn't ramp up!

Will keep you all posted Smile

Wahey @RiverMeadow fantastic news! Are you staying in or will they let you labour at home for a bit? Are you contracting already? Good luck Mum, go for it!

cja06 · 25/05/2019 07:23

@RiverMeadow that's great news... good luck I hope everything goes well :)

I'm still pregnant. Was convinced I'd be early but now 1 day overdue

RiverMeadow · 25/05/2019 07:43

No I'm at home, the pain is so much worse than I remember Blush

I'm just about to put on my tens machine and start properly monitoring contractions!

Eek so exciting @River Meadow.. Thank god there's progress for one of us!! Good luck..
Day 3 in the overdue camp for me 😭

Furble · 25/05/2019 08:35

@RiverMeadow So glad you are at home. The TENS really helps the earlier you get it on from what I’ve read so good move.
Download Juju Sundin’s “Birth skills” on your phone and read it between contractions. It was recommended to me and has lots of practical advice for different techniques to help cope with the pain of active labour. Good luck, we’re hear cheering you on!

Good morning to my fellow overdue ladies @Lorrie3 and @cja06 it’ll be our turn soon. Hope you are comfortable and relaxed today.

HalfBloodPrincess · 25/05/2019 08:40

Good luck rivermeadow

I think things might be starting to happen. Lower back aching, crampy and I’ve just had the best poo of my life! I’ve been Slowly losing mucous plug but there seems to be a bit more today than usual. I’ve also woken up with a stinking cold though so could be down to that 😩

40+2 and 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

DoingItForTheKids · 25/05/2019 09:20

Yay good luck @RiverMeadow! As others have said, a Tens machine takes about an hour for your body to register and get those endorphins flowing so get it on early. The book recommendation is ace too.

cowchickenduckdog · 25/05/2019 11:15

@RiverMeadow amazing news!! Hope you're ok? x I'm at work in my shop resigned to the fact I've bred a limpet that is going to need prising out! I shouldn't whinge really as I'm not due till tomorrow but everyone said I'd be weeks early and here I am with not so much as a twinge...
The worst is having each customer say 'you still here' 'you sure it's not twins' 'god you've put on weight' - I've realised why we have laws in this land - I'd have shot about 40 people by now if the laws hadn't held me back lol

RiverMeadow · 25/05/2019 13:15

We have our first baby! Born 2 hours after my last post! My tens machine didn't get any use ha!

Baby boy weighing 7lb 10oz. No name yet.

Who will be next to join me?

oliviat93 · 25/05/2019 13:17

Congratulations my other message must of posted as you posted the new one! Enjoy your time with your new baby!

cowchickenduckdog · 25/05/2019 13:32

@RiverMeadow Congratulations!!! xxx

MummyBear2352 · 25/05/2019 14:38

I'm 12 days away from my due date and don't want to be pregnant for another hour! The midwife attempted a sweep this week but had to stop as I found it too painful. They wanted me to have weekly sweeps and be induced at 39 weeks as long as cervix is soft enough due to me suffering from pelvic pain for the last couple of months.

Don't think I'll manage a sweep next week either as the pain is so bad now I can't open my legs.

Furble · 25/05/2019 14:46

@RiverMeadow

Woohoo! Congrats Mumma! A beautiful boy and what a swift, smooth landing that’s fantastic news!

I think I might be in early labour as I’ve had consistent pains all day today but don’t want to get too excited as it could be days yet based on my last one! 😂

Welcome @MummyBear2352 sorry to hear the sweep was so painful. I found my one yesterday quite painful but it does seem to have worked a bit so hopefully yours will too 🤞🤞

Furble · 25/05/2019 14:48

@cowchickenduckdog

Sorry to hear still no twinges, how royally annoying. Hats off to you that you are still working, what a trooper. All these friendly commenters can GTF it’s really not what we want to hear is it. Fingers crossed things get moving for you soon 🤞🤞

Furble · 25/05/2019 14:49

@HalfBloodPrincess

How are you doing now? Keeping everything crossed for you that it is indeed the beginning of labour! 🤞🤞
