Hi!!

This week I have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all positive. I’m afraid to get too excited because it is so early. I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I have no other signs of pregnancy so it doesn’t feel real yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

First pregnancy, so many questions but I can’t ask friends or family yet.

@mypethip Congratulations and snap! I am 4+6 weeks with a due date of the 8th. Also considering an early scan, I've read lots of mixed reviews. I watched a load of videos on what you can expect to see at each week. I'm thinking 8/9 weeks would be a good time to go x

mypethip · 06/04/2019 12:07

Sounds sensible. Guess it's going to be a long few weeks!

Lorna2019 · 06/04/2019 12:10

@mypethip It really is. I feel like I've known forever and I only found out on Monday x

1990carey · 06/04/2019 12:30

@Lorna2019 if it helps I found out nearly 2 weeks ago now and it has gone quickly even tho at times it doesn't feel like it has. I have my booking in appointment on the 16th, so just 10 days to go and then hopefully only a couple of weeks and should be my first scan time! I'm giving myself little things to look forward to every week or so like after my first appointment I'll tell my dad, and well tell my step son etc etc. I feel like doing that takes your mind off the bigger picture, making it seem like it's going faster u know.

Lorna2019 · 06/04/2019 13:05

@1990carey Yeah! I know what you mean. I think the weekends help, because I don't have to be around people. 3 people at work asked me if I was still trying for a baby or was pregnant last week and I was clock watching to get out of there.

I'm going to tell my parents at the end of the month as they are coming to stay (they don't live in the UK) so hoping to take them for an early scan as they won't be around throughout my pregnancy.

Got my app on 24th which I'm looking forward too!

Yours will come around in no time! X

Josie5555 · 06/04/2019 13:53

@Lorna2019 I'm trying to hold off telling family but I'm lying as to why I'm not drinking - I hate it so think I will tell soon.

I woke at 8 this morning but went back to bed at 11-1pm (unheard of)Shock

Lorna2019 · 06/04/2019 14:29

Ah I know. I was up at 5.40 (insane) then I went for a nap 10-11 and only woke up cos someone rang the doorbell and I was raging!!!

I've had to move something heavy today and now I'm paranoid that I've done something as I don't feel as crampy. So I'm going out to buy 8 pregnancy tests so I can keep reassuring myself that everything is ok (and that I'm insane).

I hope you get to have another nap later on as they are truly wonderful x

Josie5555 · 06/04/2019 14:58

@Lorna2019

I am sure everything is just fine. They are very well protected at the moment. X

Lorna2019 · 06/04/2019 15:37

@Josie5555 I know. It will all be fine. Even still I bought 8 pregnancy tests 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sianii · 06/04/2019 16:36

I took two tests today both positive, then took a clear blue digital test that stated again I’m pregnant at 1-2weeks (although if based on first period date 4 weeks?!

This would be my first pregnancy and I’ve already had to google a million things like how to work out due dates etc.

I felt light headless and nausea for the past week which I wasn’t sure whether it was my mind playing games with me, then this morning woke up with pain in my boobs that I felt that I couldn’t wait any longer to do a test. Definitely wasn’t in my head 😂😂 Although I’m fearful that my first trimester symptoms are going to be hell on earth if i’m Already feeling symptoms this early.

Now it feels like I have so long to wait until it’s a safe time to announce it 🙊😂 The wait is going to be hard....

blondie87 · 06/04/2019 16:49

Hi ladies.

Can I tentatively join? I got my BFP last Monday and then got a negative result the same day. Tested every day until Thursday and was getting quite faint positives. I've stopped testing as it was driving me nuts and as it stands my period is three days late so I'm going to be positive!

I'll be due second week in Dec and this is #3. Even though I'm married and in a stable career I'm actually nervous about telling my mum!

blondie87 · 06/04/2019 16:50

Oh sianii Clearblue measures from conception rather than date of last period.

Pip231018 · 06/04/2019 16:56

Congratulations @Sianii I feel your pain on the wait! My symptoms are on and off.

@blondie87 I'm sure your mum will be thrilled! Congratulations. X

1990carey · 06/04/2019 17:32

@Lorna2019 @Josie5555 I have been so so soooooo tired today as well and I've literally done nothing bad go to the park with my partner and step son! I even went to be at 10pm last night slept in till 7 (I'm usually up at 6am), so it's not like I didn't sleep well lol!
Aww that will be so nice to tell ur parents and hopefully get them in to a scan! Defo something to look forward to!

lordofthefries · 06/04/2019 17:54

Hi, do you mind if I tentatively join. Just got my BFP this morning, from what I can work out my due date is December 2nd.

leonasa · 06/04/2019 19:48

I'm waking up earlier too - think it's partly because I keep needing a wee though! ☺️

I'm becoming quite worried about everything you're supposed to avoid eating, it seems like there are so many things! I had a burger that was a bit pink in the middle last night and eggs this morning at a cafe which had quite runny yolks, then read the NHS website and freaked out! Do you really have to be so careful or are they being over cautious? I know things like some cheeses etc you do have to be really vigilant.

Elliebaby1 · 06/04/2019 20:08

Hi I hope you don’t mind me joining I got my BFP on Friday, last period was 6-11 of March so calculated due date is 11th of dec! But just wanted to ask as my app say 4+3 but i thought as conception is like 2 weeks later do I add 2 weeks on to the Edd ?

1990carey · 06/04/2019 21:38

@Elliebaby1 your due date is calculated from the date of your last period, so even tho you may have conceived on a certain date, they add the two weeks before you got pregnant as well. Hope that helps
@leonasa the advice on eggs has changed from what I understand, because your very unlikely to get anything from them (as long as they are the red lion ones) so you can still enjoy a runny egg. Defo make sure your meat is all well cooked and avoid soft cheese.
@lordofthefries congratulations, due date buddy's! I'm due the 2nd as well!

MrsS7 · 06/04/2019 22:08

Congratulations everyone!
We’ve just told our parents and my sister, and they were all sooooo happy and in shock haha.
It’s nice to know I’ll have my mum to text about all my symptoms and questions now. She was getting out her knitting patterns already!

Bumpingalong84 · 06/04/2019 22:25

Haha @MrsS7 I told my mum last night and got the best reaction. She like your mum has already started thinking of knitting patterns for newborns.

Congratulations to all the newbies. So many exciting months ahead.

I’ve had a rather sober day at a wedding and now exhausted. Boobs still sore and huge, tired but less so than last week I think. And the mildest of nausea first thing. Making me paranoid. Can’t wait to get home just to poas again 🙈🙈 yes 5+5 and still have the urge to poas and see those lovely pink lines.

lordofthefries · 06/04/2019 22:26

@1990carey How exciting! December seems so far away!

Pip231018 · 07/04/2019 07:12

I'm 5 weeks today and I read somewhere that if you are likely to have a chemical pregnancy it most likely within the first 5 weeks. Which is probably not true as we all know what can happen.

Anyway, I POAS this morning and I feel like the HCG doesn't seem as strong as some of the other tests I've taken. Should I be worried?

1990carey · 07/04/2019 08:00

@lordofthefries it really does! I usually love summer the most (I'm a summer baby) and never want it to end but honestly I want it over asap now lol! I saw on one of my pregnancy apps yesterday that is said we have a other 7 months and 25 days or somethin lol

agteacht · 07/04/2019 08:02

I'm no expert but I really don't think so @Pip231018. That's such a strong line. The batch of tests and your hydration levels etc will impact each one. I think it's fine
