Hi!!

This week I have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all positive. I’m afraid to get too excited because it is so early. I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I have no other signs of pregnancy so it doesn’t feel real yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

First pregnancy, so many questions but I can’t ask friends or family yet.

@badfurday that's good! I have my scan at 11. Hoping that it's a positive outcome. X

gwenneh · 05/05/2019 15:19

@badfurday that's fantastic!

I'm absolutely shattered but I feel like most of that is jet lag.

Booking in tomorrow. I should be around 6 weeks. There will probably be an early scan and even though this is my third pregnancy I just can't help but be nervous. I'll be seeing a new practice too, since I wasn't happy with the one from my first pregnancy and I'm no longer in the UK like I was with the last one. I hope they're good.

I also admit to spending far more money on pregnancy tests the same way I did with my first two, hoping the line gets darker (I know, I know.)

IHD83 · 05/05/2019 15:41

I might be the only one who goes directly to the 12 weeks scan! 🙈

Shelbybear · 05/05/2019 16:55

@fonxey I hear u re the clothes/bump. I woke up this morning with a flat stomach, went out shopping and got some holiday stuff that's stretchy. Tried on a dress I got and this is what I look like 😮 Needless to say this dress is going back. Something less clingy I think 😂

How can you wake up with a flat stomach and this is what happens as the day goes on. Surely it's all bloating. I look the same as I did when I was 20wks last time 😂 and I'm only 8wks. Comparison pic of a few days ago in the morning, it's nuts.

I'm just new to this thread! Just turned 7 weeks, although I have my exact ovulation days as I was monitoring so not sure if that'll mean it'll be a few weeks less than the 7! It's our first time, anxious as hell 😫
Time has went so slowly so far, only been 3 weeks since we found out. Due to me being so anxious, I'm thinking about an early private scan.. the places I've looked at close to me say the possibility of an internal/transvaginal scan. Has anyone who had an early scan actually had to have one this way? I'm not that comfortable with it and don't want to pay and end up wasting money that I really need in 8 months time lol I'll be due the week of Christmas!

badfurday · 05/05/2019 17:02

I had an early vaginal scan with my miscarriage in January. I was about 6 weeks. It was fine tbh, but I have a child already and I'm not arsed about that sort of thing anymore. I had a regular tummy one yesterday at nearly 9 weeks. Hang on for a bit if you can and would fee more comfortable with a tummy scan.

EmeraldRubyShark · 05/05/2019 17:09

Hey Dec19baby our dates are identical. Lemme guess, you ovulated around March 28? ;)

I had an internal scan and it was fine, gave a clear picture that couldn’t be visualised externally, didn’t hurt and wasn’t remotely awkward or embarrassing. What are you concerned about?

xoxhayleyxox · 05/05/2019 17:40

@Dec19baby hey, I've had 2 internal scans now and it's not uncomfortable or embarrassing. They cover you up with a sheet so you still have some dignity! I'm 8+2 now and had a stomach scan rather than internal at 7+5 x

Dec19baby · 05/05/2019 17:48

I just don't think I'd be able to do it. I've had extremely difficult smear tests over the years to the point where I didn't want to do them anymore. I know with being pregnant I've a lot more to deal with at the end of 9 months, but that's far away and I can stay blissfully ignorant 😂 lol
Hmm, maybe I'll just hold off on an early scan then. I don't need any more stress than I already have atm 😓 thanks!
And I ovulated later than a normal cycle, even though I'm regular at 28 days, so I'm a little later than you there with the date 😂

EmeraldRubyShark · 05/05/2019 17:50

It’s a hell of a lot easier and more pleasant than a smear. No speculum, no gazing into your vagina. Nothing scraping your cervix. It’s just a wand about twice the thickness of a tampon and you can ask to insert it yourself. I found when I was busy looking at the screen I barely noticed her wiggling it around in there, hard to explain but the tech really isn’t focused on your body they’re focused on the screen and don’t even need to look at you to move it around. She just slid it in without even touching me and we were off.

Pip231018 · 05/05/2019 17:58

I'm going to drop off this thread now as my scan sadly confirmed I had no heartbeat and was measuring 6 instead of 8.

Wishing you all the happiest and healthiest of pregnancies. @Verity1989 you wear those stretchy food stained dungarees for the both of us 🛎
💕

Dec19baby · 05/05/2019 18:12

@Pip231018 I'm so sorry to hear this =( Hope you'll be okay x

IHD83 · 05/05/2019 19:47

@Pip231018 I’m really sorry to hear that :(. Lots of love ❤️

@Shelbybear I was exactly the same last year. Every morning I woke up with flat stomach and at the end of the day I looked like 5 months pregnant...
This time I have a belly the whole day 🤦‍♀️

December2018 · 05/05/2019 19:50

So sorry @Pip231018 take time to rest, hope you have some good RL support.

Pip231018 · 06/05/2019 08:32

Thank you to everyone, wishing you lots of luck. I'm off to the hospital today to discuss my options, none of which are very appealing. My OH has been really good and not complained once about the mascara/tear puddles/snot patches I left all over his T-shirt.

@Verity1989 😭😭😭 I hope you have the best pregnancy and the most perfect bundle of joy. X

badfurday · 06/05/2019 09:04

MrsJ1906 · 06/05/2019 14:46

Hi, I’m really newly pregnant too! I’m around 4 weeks. Planning to visit the doctors tomorrow! Think I’ll be due January time!

PaddlePaws · 06/05/2019 19:37

Hi, I'm new... my wife is around 9 weeks pregnant with our first. First midwife appointment tomorrow.

Dec19baby · 06/05/2019 20:53

One thing I'm really struggling with atm is the extreme tiredness. I'm 7+3 and since probably week 5 I've been feeling worse and worse. I have zero energy and I'm ending up in bed each night 2 hours after workConfused Is this normal? Anyone else experiencing this?

1990carey · 06/05/2019 21:15

@Dec19baby yep feeling the exhaustion here too. I'm 10 weeks today and I swear I'm the most exhausted I have been so far! And I've got bad lower back aches!
