Hi!!

This week I have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all positive. I’m afraid to get too excited because it is so early. I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I have no other signs of pregnancy so it doesn’t feel real yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

First pregnancy, so many questions but I can’t ask friends or family yet.

Had the tiniest bit of brown spotting last night, barely visible and has stopped now but I'm still so worried! I know that's pretty normal and probably nothing to worry about, but I'm still on edge today :(
Hope everyone is doing well on this very long wait to 12 weeks!

FlorenceAlice · 29/04/2019 09:06

@MrsS7 I had that 2 weeks ago, my GP referred me to local EPU and they saw me the next day for an early scan. Everything was ok although they dated me a week behind what I thought. I had more spotting again yesterday but I’m not feeling as worrried now so I don’t think I’m going to call GP this time.

MrsS7 · 29/04/2019 09:11

Thanks @FlorenceAlice, think I'm just going to keep an eye out today and if it comes back I might give them a call. I had an early scan on Thursday last week and everything was looking great, so fingers crossed. I have my booking in appointment on Wednesday so I'm hoping it will stay away and I can just mention it to the midwife then.

mininionsteve · 29/04/2019 10:20

Dr has agreed I'm probably having a miscarriage so that's me out. They've taken some blood to check my hormones but I'm not expecting it to be very high.

myheadsamess15 · 29/04/2019 10:50

I got my BFP on Tuesday last week (23rd) . My period was due the 19th and I was bleeding from that day and assumed it was my period, but as it kept stopping and starting I did a test. Have been bleeding on and off, cramping and small clots since then/ HCG doubled last week, but nothing showing on scan what so ever. I have another scan Thursday so I guess it's a case of staying in limbo.

Verity1989 · 29/04/2019 12:31

@mininionsteve keep us update. I have everything crossed for you x

December2018 · 29/04/2019 12:55

mininionsteve · 29/04/2019 13:56

Thanks guys, the cramps have ramped got going and the rest is on it's way out. I'm going to need a gin at the end of this!

Thank you for your support x

Hi would love to join this group found out today that I am five weeks pregnant with baby number 5 and I am scared as hell what people and family will say as I was advised by the surgeon at time of my last c section not to get pregnant again I just don’t know what to do anyone else been in the same situation please just need advice. 😔😔😔😔

IHD83 · 29/04/2019 17:15

@mininionsteve Sorry to hear that. Lots of love

IHD83 · 29/04/2019 17:21

@mummyb30 Hi, I haven’t had a c-section in my previous pregnancy so I’m sorry I cannot advise on that. However, I am also scared as I got pregnant very soon after the birth and it was quite complicated, and my pelvic floor is quite damaged. In one of the appointments I had with the midwife after birth, she said to not get pregnant again for a while. My midwife has referred me to an obstetrician to discuss my situation now. Maybe you should check with the doctor and he/she will valuate your situation. Was your c-section done recently?

pitterpatterbaby · 29/04/2019 17:28

Anyone bought maternity clothes yet? Not even quite 8 weeks and my jeans are tight Confused

mummyb30 · 29/04/2019 17:47

Thankyou for your comment my c section was feb last year, all I know was she said if I was to get pregnant again that something would collapse but for the life of me I can’t remember what it was she was talking about I’m just so scared that something will go wrong and I can’t see midwife till I’m 8 weeks so got an appointment for end of may then hopefully she can refer me to a specialist who can shed some light on what the surgeon was talking about.

bobble53 · 29/04/2019 18:41

I had my booking in appointment today - feels much more real now and it’s sinking in that I’m having a baby! I have my 12 week scan booked for 3 weeks. I’m so excited!

She also gave me 8 weeks free of Pregnacare, winning!

charliep92 · 29/04/2019 18:47

Hey, I'm 7 weeks today and due roughly 16th December after loosing a baby in January at 8 weeks. I had some brown blood appear Saturday in my knickers but off for an early scan tomorrow and fingers crossed as I haven't had any more since and have full swing of sickness and tiredness etc! Hope you're all doing okay, this is my first time posting! X

MrsS7 · 29/04/2019 20:20

Worried sick tonight 😞 been having tiny amounts of brown discharge on and off since last night, and my nausea went away yesterday. I rang the midwife earlier and spoke to a nurse, she said not to worry unless I was having pain or heavier bleeding, but that she would ask a midwife to ring me this afternoon for reassurance. The call never came!
I’ve been having lower back pain tonight but so far no increase in the discharge- it’s barely visible really. I’m 9 weeks tomorrow and still have sore boobs.
My husband is understanding but thinks I’m worrying unnecessarily. I had a scan last Thursday and all was looking great. Any help or advice would be much appreciated, not sure how I’ll sleep tonight!

BabyH2019 · 29/04/2019 20:35

Congrats to everyone else!!
I’m Due 25th Dec... it’s my first and I’m so nervous but excited. I’m nervous because I just didn’t realise how much you need to know that you just don’t. I wasn’t planning and therefore hadn’t been taking any vitamins / folic acid and to be honest my diet wasn’t superb. But now I know, I just feel so incredibly protective and want to do everything I can to make sure my little one has the best possible chance and start. I’m 5 weeks 5 days and just worried that I could have done anything bad (not smoking or anything like that but things like drinking alcohol, caffeine and not eating a balanced diet with folic etc)

Did anyone else ever get like this?

Congratulations to you all!
@BabyH2019 That’s a very typical worry of every first mum... Some women start taking vitamins before conceiving but a lot of women don’t. I was trying to get pregnant with my first baby and I didn’t have absolutely anything before finding out. I actually started taking vitamins a while after I knew I was pregnant, and when I had my first appointment with the midwife I said I was worried because I had been drinking alcohol...eating all these things you shouldn’t eat when you are pregnant, etc... (obviously when I didn’t know it yet). She smiled and said everyone does that before finding out, because it’s imposible to know when you will get pregnant, so you shouldn’t worry at all.
My baby is perfectly fine and healthy! ;)

BabyH2019 · 29/04/2019 21:23

Thank you so so much that is so reassuring to hear and so glad your baby is perfectly fine and healthy xxxxx

BabyH2019 · 29/04/2019 21:24

@IHD83 thank you so so so much that is so reassuring to hear and I’m so glad to hear your baby is perfectly fine and healthy xxx

Ferii · 30/04/2019 07:08

@BabyH2019 Don't worry, the embryo has been living off a yolk sac in your womb since you don't have a placenta yet so whatever you've eaten drunk previously etc won't have made any difference. Now is a crucial time for folic acid though so you need a good prenatal vitamin.

EmeraldRubyShark · 30/04/2019 07:23

Is anyone else using the pregnancy + app? It’s really helping me to see how big the embryo is every week and what it looks like! Makes it feel much more reason. I’m in week six and it looks quite elephantine.

IHD83 · 30/04/2019 10:01

@EmeraldRubyShark Yes, I used last year with my first and I’m using it again with my second. I also recommended it in this chat! ☺️
It gives you a lot of tips too.
