Hi!!

This week I have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all positive. I’m afraid to get too excited because it is so early. I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I have no other signs of pregnancy so it doesn’t feel real yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

First pregnancy, so many questions but I can’t ask friends or family yet.

@IHD83 I felt like a right berk. I had to stand next to the window and she kept having to repeat my name. I went clammy. I didn't eat much before hand which was a school boy error. I just don't bleed a lot so it was a 15 minute ordeal and several attempts to make me bleed. It comes out then just stops.

@bobble53 I feel your pain, I went for a private scan and they dated me at 6 weeks not 7, fuming. The midwife went off the scan and put me a due date of 14/15th Dec instead of 8th. I had to reset the clock.

She asked me a lot of questions re my health, my partner, our families, if I was in a healthy relationship, height, weight, pee in a cup, take blood, gave me a lot of leaflets and it took about 90 minutes after the near passing out debacle. Make sure you eat! X

IHD83 · 25/04/2019 19:03

@Pip231018 I think I have the same problem with my blood. Last year I did the diabetes test in where you have to take three blood tests in a row (with one hour gap in between) and you must have your stomach empty. I takes basically the whole morning. So they tried 6 times to take my blood because nothing was coming out. It was a nightmare and I almost passed out in one of them. My veins ended up like ‘swiss cheese’ 😜

I think I get dizzy because sometimes I feel the needle inside more than others, and I don’t like that feeling...

Ail88 · 25/04/2019 19:16

Has anyone else experniced what feels like period pains?? I will be 6 weeks on Sat. With this being my first pregnancy not sure what is normal

Pip231018 · 25/04/2019 19:29

@IHD83 You should see the bruises on my arms today. Grim. I hope you have a better experience than last time, I had 13 piercings and I love the sensation of sticking a needle through my body but for some reason don't like a needle sticking out of me. I find having my blood pressure taken nauseating, I could throw up. Weird.

@Ail88 Hey, yes. I had cramps for the first 2 weeks, think it's all the stretching. Also during my reassurance scan, they pushed on my overuse and I had bad cramps after that too. Lots of people on the thread have experienced the same thing. X

Pip231018 · 25/04/2019 19:30

@cheshirewifey Ah Congratulations. I found out 1st March too. My edd is 14/15th Dec. I had my booking in app yesterday and waiting for my scan date, I hate waiting. When are you due? X

December2018 · 25/04/2019 19:36

@IHD83 I totally get you being bored with a baby all day I need to get out most days otherwise I feel like the walls are closing in haha!
I'm also considering a c-cec this time around but my best friend who has 2 13 months apart said the hardest part was the first few weeks she was unable to move and had a 1 year old climbing all over her and a newborn she said the pain was bad!
But my first birth was horrendous I ended up with assisted delivery too
@Ail88 yeah cramping is totally normal hun I had really bad ones today, sort of like first day of period type cramps but they soon went just little embryo making his/her home for the next 8-9 months 😍

December2018 · 25/04/2019 19:40

@cheshirewifey hey hun!
We tried for over 7 years for my little boy too and fell pregnant more or less straight away with this little bean (only had sex once) that was 1 time in 4 months... and using a condom!! 😂 I didn't wanna chance going on contraception incase it reduced our chances of getting pregnant again

IHD83 · 25/04/2019 20:20

@December2018 Did your friend have a c-section? I know it is a major surgery but I have my mind stuck in not being able to give birth naturally myself, as that is what happened last year. They ended up inducing me as everything was going backwards instead of forward... I don’t want to get into too much detail because I don’t want to scare new mums with my experience, as it does not mean it will happen to them, but I really don’t want to go through all that again. I know second births are normally faster and easier, but how much? Not sure if I want to take the risk! (Besides I had huge hemorrhoids afterwards 😳🤭) I am also not sure about my pelvic floor, as being so close pregnancies could affect in a bad way? That’s why I’m checking it with a doctor.
I know people who had programmed cesarean and they said the recovery wasn’t too bad. I’m sure it hurts but I’m considering it anyway.

At least this pregnancy might feel not that long because we will be distracted with our little ones requesting attention all the time :)

December2018 · 25/04/2019 20:30

@IHD83 yeah she had a section the 2nd time... yeah I agree, I wasn't progressing the way I should either.... but all these new mummy's will do amazing!!
I am surely going to request a c sec though, my pelvic floor isn't what it used to be 😂 I sneeze & leak wee all the time haha!

IHD83 · 25/04/2019 20:41

@December2018 haha! I know what you mean 🤣
We should be doing kegel exercises! I try to be constant but sometimes I forget...

MrsS7 · 25/04/2019 20:58

My little baba with a lovely heartbeat! Measuring at 8 weeks which is a couple of days ahead of what I thought. And only one... I’m an identical twin so everyone was teasing us that there would be 2 in there!

December2018 · 25/04/2019 21:02

@MrsS7 hello little babba!! Nice to meet you 😘

1990carey · 25/04/2019 21:16

@bobble53 tbh dont expect too much. She will probably want a urine sample, and she will ask you a lot of questions, about a lot, espically to do with social stuff, my midwife even wanted to know about my partners little boy and when we had him stay over etc. And she will do a lot of typing on the computer. It will take a good hour, and be prepared to be sitting about a lot. Its nice to get to meet ur midwife but there isn't too much that happens in it tbh. But saying that it was nice for the process to get started.

@Ail88 yes its perfectly normal hun, so dont worry. I felt that way a lot when I was between 4-6 weeks but I'm nearly 9 weeks now and its settled down a lot, I still get the odd cramp but its nothing major and not as often anymore. I was so worried about it and convinced my period was coming, but after a whlle you stop panicking about it so much, now when I do get the odd cramp I just remember it's most likley my cervix stretching and growing (which is apparently now the size of an orange!) And nothing to worry about.

kkl1 · 25/04/2019 21:28

Hey I'm due the 1st of December and I'm so scared of loseing to this will be my third but I'm not really gettin any pregnancy symptoms like I did with the others I just tired all the time an angry a lot haha but I suffer with health anxiety so my head is all over the place with this pregnancy I've already had a scan and seen a heart beat at 7 weeks but I'm so worried I've lost congratulations to u all

mum2DDB · 25/04/2019 21:33

@IHD83, @december2018, I had 2 emergency c section with both girls and I think you’re both right, (well I’m my opinion) the 2nd one wasn’t too bad of a recovery..but probably didn’t feel the stress too much as I stayed at mums for a couple of weeks 🤦🏾‍♀️
I suppose every pregnancy is different..go with what feels right for you! X

Ail88 · 25/04/2019 21:44

Thanks everyone. Think just got a bit worried- had some spotting today as well. Mind starts to play tricks on you. New day tomorrow Smile

IHD83 · 25/04/2019 22:23

@mum2DDB I imagine emergency c-sec could be a bit more tricky as it means you went through a long or complicated labour before getting to that point, so you get extra-tired and maybe a bit more complicated recovery? I hope a programmed one makes a bit of a difference even though recovery gets longer than natural birth (as everyone says). I have friends who had both emergency and programmed and they said the recovery is easier with the programmed one.
I also have another friend who had an emergency c-sec and she said the recovery took longer than expected because she had infection in the endometrium. This was due to a long labour (She wasn’t able to dilate and took a while until they decided to do the cesarean) including meconium in the process, so I guess there are some factors that make things more messy.
Anyway, I have time to decide and hope to clear my mind once I see the doctor. 🤞☺️

Covmum83 · 25/04/2019 23:18

Hi, just found this place! I'm 36 and am around 7weeks with baby number 3 x

mininionsteve · 26/04/2019 08:59

I've got a pain in the left of my groin like a muscle stretch pain. It's not strong or anything but it's there every time I move. Do you think I should be alarmed?

BirdIsland · 26/04/2019 12:43

@mininionsteve I've been getting something similar but in my right hip, I've had it for quite a few days now and called 111 about it, but they didn't seem that concerned!

mininionsteve · 26/04/2019 13:02

@BirdIsland I've just come back from the dr he didn't seem too bothered just said I'd need to be seen if it got worse. It seems to only be there when i move rather than constant.

windysowindy · 26/04/2019 14:24

@Enwi set up a Facebook group Smile

Emmilou82 · 26/04/2019 18:15

OMG....I feel like I've not stopped eating today. I've tried to eat healthy but I feel a right bloater today! Completely gone off coffee which people at work are pondering about because I was an addict (10 mugs + a day).

I'm 6 weeks today and still no sickness.....

Hope everyone else is ok

December2018 · 26/04/2019 18:31

@Emmilou82 I'm the same today! I've ate my weight in food it's like I'm not satisfied at all lol

My sickness has completely stopped now too and boobs aren't as painful but the cramping is back... anyone else constantly thirsty?

IHD83 · 26/04/2019 18:56

I am not having too much sickness which is good. But I have food aversion all the time. I am trying to eat healthy but it is very difficult for me in the first trimestre, all I feel eating is crappy sandwiches and things like that. Thinking about vegetables makes me sick...although I try to eat sometimes.
Even drinking water seems to trigger my nausea so I am not drinking too much unfortunately. My liquid intake consists in tea, juices, coffee/decaff and I just asked my OH to go and buy some sparkling water to see if that’s better 🤣

This time my boobs aren’t sore but they are itchy right below my nipples 🤷‍♀️ It happened to me in my previous pregnancy too.
I had some period pain and lower back pain the weeks before but not anymore. Maybe a bit of back pain when I get up in the morning but goes away.
Anyone with itchy boobs? I think is a funny symptom...🤔

Is the facebook group set up yet? What’s the name?
