Hi!!

This week I have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all positive. I’m afraid to get too excited because it is so early. I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I have no other signs of pregnancy so it doesn’t feel real yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

First pregnancy, so many questions but I can’t ask friends or family yet.

@mypethip try not to feel guilty, I think we all feel pretty similar at this stage in that we're happy and excited but trying not to get our hopes up too high just in case! I'm 6+2 and until a couple of days ago I was worrying nonstop because I had barely any symptoms, but once I got to 6 weeks the nausea, tiredness and food aversions kicked in and I'm hoping it continues as I find it reassuring! From what people have said here though, a lack of symptoms can also be quite normal :)

As for tagging people, you just type @ and then their username immediately afterwards, with no space.

mypethip · 15/04/2019 08:40

@mrsm7 ah thanks, I thought I'd missed a button for it in the app. It's tricky isn't it. I have booked a reassurance scan for 7 weeks because I think my worrying is getting a bit out of control!

mum2DDB · 15/04/2019 08:51

Hey 👋🏾 @december2018!
Lol at least I’m not the only one- I feel better.
Yes definitely they’ll be best of friends!
I want to be excited because although we wanted a 3rd baby, didn’t expect it to finally happen.
My two girls are 5 and 3 and God willing baby will be born on baby girls bday Hmm don’t know if she’ll be pleased to share her birthday.
Have you gone for a check up or anything- I’m yet to tell my doctor as it still doesn’t feel real.
I’ve done like 2 pregnancy tests every other day since I found out Blush

MrsS7 · 15/04/2019 08:56

@mypethip I'm exactly the same- before I started feeling rough on Saturday I felt like my worrying was getting out of control, I hope I don't get to that stage again. I have also booked an early scan (I'll be 7+5) and really hope that will help.
All of this waiting is so hard isn't it?! Trying to be grateful and positive though.

December2018 · 15/04/2019 08:58

@mum2DDB no I'm gonna ring the doctors today and get my booking in appointment sorted haha 2 birthdays on one day! I feel your pain!
My little cheeky bum was born on the 23rd December and this little one is due on the 19th I was 4 days over due last time 😂
I had a Pack if 20 cheap tests and apparently I've managed to use them all since I found out on Friday/properly Saturday on clear blue... it only gets exiting for me and feels real when I start to feel movement.. that's when I get exited haha 😂👶

December2018 · 15/04/2019 09:25

@MrsS7 hey hun it's totally normal to worry during the first months of pregnancy, I understand about feeling guilty because we tried for my LO for 7 years and when I finally got pregnant I just felt like I was moaning about it all the time 😂... when I should have been grateful (I really was)
I found after the 15-16 week mark I relaxed a bit and enjoyed my pregnancy... but the worry never goes haha! Even once they're here 😂😂

MrsS7 · 15/04/2019 09:32

Thanks @December2018, my husband does keep telling me it's just my body preparing me for a lifetime of worry haha! Hopefully if all goes well I do think I'll relax a bit more after the 12 week scan, it will be nice to be able to talk about it to my work colleagues too as I have only told close family so far.

IHD83 · 15/04/2019 09:40

I might be the only one that doesn’t want to have any symptoms 🤣
I hate morning sickness, for me is the worst symptom of all and ruins my day. I also had heartburn in the third trimestre but not that annoying as I could manage it better...
So far, I just don’t feel like I want to eat anything but no nausea yet. Hope it doesn’t come!
For the ladies worrying about not having symptoms, try not to overthink it. Many women don’t feel anything at all and they carry on with the pregnancy with no problems 😉

IHD83 · 15/04/2019 09:53

@December2018 My boy was born on 26th of December and I was 5 days over due date (broke water at 2 a.m. on 25th of December but he wasn’t born until 26th evening).
My due date now is 5th of December 🤭

1990carey · 15/04/2019 10:16

Well ladies if I was worried about a lack of symptoms before I'm defo not now! I havnt had the best of weekends because I have felt sick basically throughout it all and have been getting those dam period cramps again. All my favourite foods now make me want to throw up just at the thought of them. And sometimes I feel like throwing up for no reason at all. Anddd then if I don't eat for ages, guess what! I feel like throwing up! I'm trying my hardest to be healthy but all the health meals I usually love and cook now make me feel sick, and I have had some really bad cravings this weekend as well mainly for salt and vinegar crisps, but also Saturday all I could think about was eating a huge Burger King cheese and bacon burger, I didn't, we made out own which did help, but wasnt healthy! Oh dear, I suppose theres not much I can do about it tho! Lol so pregnancy fun!

duebaby2 · 15/04/2019 10:39

@IHD83 It's scary isn't it to have two children so close. My son was born mid November and this baby is due mid December so not as close as yours. This baby could still be a November baby if my consultant decides it's best for the baby to be delivered early which I have a feeling will be most likely.

It's going to be an expensive Christmas for sure. I sometimes kick myself for having another winter baby and think why was it not possible to have a baby in summer when we have no family birthdays.

IHD83 · 15/04/2019 11:05

@duebaby2 why do you feel it will be delivered earlier? Yes...when I found out I was pregnant again I got really scary, even more than the first time. I honestly didn’t take it as a good thing because I feel I’m not prepared for it yet. But well, that’s what it is...I will have to handle it with positivism and I hope I will be able to feel happy at some point (I’m still figuring out how my life will be and what to do with two babies so close) Maybe once I see the 12 weeks scan my feelings will change... 🤞

mum2DDB · 15/04/2019 12:09

@december2018!!!! Wow! We’re due the same date! I’m also due 19th December! This is great! We defo have to keep in contact. Smile
I contacted my dr this morning and apparently I have to make my own referral to the hospital I would like to have baby.
Working nights again tonight (I’m a nurse Halo) so will probably try and do it before Friday

mum2DDB · 15/04/2019 12:13

@IHD83, heyyy!
I feel like having the symptoms make it seem more real no? I’ve only got REALLY sore breasts and nipples that I had a little crack this morning having a bath- made me so scared..increased appetite and urination but nothing else special to write home about Hmm

IHD83 · 15/04/2019 12:25

@mum2DDB Yes, it’s true it feels more real with the typical symptoms, as long as they are tireness, sore breasts, cramps, often urinating, etc... I’m perfectly fine, but not nauseas please! 😭
I actually felt a bit of nausea minutes ago because I drank a glass of water too fast and made me feel a bit sick 😭😭 Sorry! I hate that feeling so much 🤦‍♀️

mum2DDB · 15/04/2019 12:30

@IHD83..I know exactly what you mean regarding the water, pregnant with my youngest, I really has struggled with water and nausea was so bad that I had hyperemesis and has to be admitted..if you can keep water down try sparkle water?

IHD83 · 15/04/2019 12:39

@mum2DDB it is not that bad yet. I actually never threw up in my previous pregnancy although I was very close in two occasions...and with this one the feeling is too vague atm, but still bothers me. I have one friend that had hyperemesis during the first 6 months with three visits to the hospital because of dehydratation...
She only enjoyed the last three months of pregnancy. That must be terrible!

duebaby2 · 15/04/2019 14:00

@IHD83 because I wouldn't be able to go 40 weeks if I had a vaginal delivery again (due to producing bigger babies and because I previously haemorrhaged, they were going to induce me at 37/38 weeks on my previous birth but my consultant decided against) and if I had a section it would have to be before 39 weeks because my first son arrived a week early and my first labour was quick and they warned me second time would be a lot quicker than the first.

I know when I found out I was like how am I going to cope, I'm starting to get my head round it now and like you say when we get to the dating scan it'll feel better.

Summersun8383 · 15/04/2019 14:36

Hi everyone.....thought I'd jump on the post! We had our BFP yesterday although not sure how to figure out a due date as we came off the pill 5 weeks ago and started trying straight away and have fallen so no last period to go off?! Any ideas?? I reckon we're about 2-3 weeks so would still make it December I think!!! Eeeek can't believe we're doing it all again, we have a DS who will be 4 in July who I really hope is going to take well to the news! Congrats to all of you guys too xx

Hollykate30 · 15/04/2019 16:00

Hello ladies - firstly congratulations to you all! I have just taken a test and got a BFP so am in the same boat - December baby it is. December is going to be busy for me as it is my birthday and my step daughters birthday as well! I feel so strange right now but the overwhelming feeling is pure excitement - this is my first xxx

Lilaboc1986 · 15/04/2019 16:54

Wow, not been on in a day and we have lots of December babies due.
Not sure if this is TMI but does anybody else need the toilet all of the time ? For a number 2? Boobs have completely stopped aching now. Im 5+2 , starting to worry again :(

lordofthefries · 15/04/2019 18:22

Hi all, I went for my scan today. I’m exactly 7 weeks and we heard a heartbeat.

LetsDoThisAgain · 15/04/2019 18:50

Went to my booking in appointment with MW, whoever scheduled it fucked up and made it a 15 minute appointment instead of an hour. So the whole appointment was her explaining that she can't do a booking in appointment in 15 minutes and trying to find a different date.

Lost 2 hours wages and time I'll never get back over that ridiculous error. Angry

I'll have to go to the hospital instead now because their next appointment was over a month away at the surgery.

Josie5555 · 15/04/2019 19:03

@lordofthefries was that a private scan today? Congratulations. I'm 7+1 and toying with the idea. X

1990carey · 15/04/2019 19:10

@lordofthefries aww congrats! That's fab news! I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow, so hopefully should have my first scan in a month or so!
