Hi!!

This week I have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all positive. I’m afraid to get too excited because it is so early. I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I have no other signs of pregnancy so it doesn’t feel real yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

First pregnancy, so many questions but I can’t ask friends or family yet.

Hi guys I hope you don't mind me jumping in I found out last year on the 12th April I was pregnant with my little boy
And I've just done a test today....and it's really feint positive I'll do another one tomorrow and post it on here (it won't let me post for some reason)

I've been on my calendar and if it is a true positive my due date will be exactly the same as my little boys

I have a booking appointment soon, I’m considering electing for a C-section because I had one with DS and had a really traumatic birth. I don’t know if I’d be able to through labour again

1990carey · 12/04/2019 21:14

Congratulations @December2018!

I felt so so so so nauseous all afternoon guys! The thought of food really made me want to throw up! I almost didn't eat any dinner, I managed just but really wouldn't have been bothered if i hadn't eaten- this is a big thing for me because I usually love my food and nothing usually puts me off!!
I have a appointment on Monday to see my dr due to my underactive thyroid, I need to see him and be referred to a clinic so they can keep an eye on my levels, and then I have my booking in appointment Tuesday! So finally gonna get started on my journey! Just really want my first scan so I know if things are all ok!

I'm 6+1 today and had my second transvaginal ultrasound just now (its standard practice in the US - I'm a Brit but live in the US at the moment). The obstetrician had the most horrendous bedside manner, rude, negative and giving smart arse answers to reasonable questions. They could see a fetal pole and a sac but no heart beat so he said either it's too early or its not a viable embryo. I had blood taken today for HCG and will repeat on Monday then another scan next Friday to see if it's grown or there's a heartbeat. He was such an awful doctor I've requested the second scan to be with someone else. I'm a nurse so I don't mind someone giving it to me straight but this guy shouldn't be working directly with patients. A bit of research shows my scan was normal for below 6 and half weeks so I don't know why he was being so negative about it. The scan I had 10 days ago showed nothing in my uterus despite a positive pregnancy test so this is certainly a positive development. Initially I thought this must be a blighted ovum or other unviable embryo but now I've read up on it I feel a lot more reassured - shame the doctor or nurse weren't able to do that! I know several people here are booking early scans but my experience so far has just been that they induce a lot more stress and do the opposite to providing reassurance.

Hi everyone- I’m 6 weeks pregnant with my first and very excited! Pregnancy symptoms come and go and no nausea yet which I’m pleased about. Last night I had really strong cramps, like period pain which probably only lasted about 5 mins but were much stronger than I have had usually. Has anyone else had these? I’ve read that it can be the uterus stretching but it’s still made me a bit anxious! No blood and they did pass but would be great for the reassurance. Congratulations to everyone on here!

Pip231018 · 13/04/2019 07:51

@Fuscialuscia Hey! I'm 6 weeks tomorrow. I have had pretty bad cramps, like really heavy, dull pain that feels low. That's the only way to describe it. They've eased a bit now, I had them consistently before. Now they just come and go. I didn't have any blood, so I think it was just my insides doing its thing. X

xoxhayleyxox · 13/04/2019 07:58

@Fuscialuscia hey! I'm 4+5 and had bad cramping and some sharp pains so had to go to hospital, they done bloods and scans and everything is just as it should be. If you're not bleeding I wouldn't worry too much. I'm still getting the period like strong cramps but think it's just everything getting ready! X

Fuscialuscia · 13/04/2019 08:13

Thanks so much- it can be a bit of a lonely time if you haven’t told anyone yet (which is my case!) so it’s just great to sound it out on here. I’ve had stabbing pain that has come and gone which feels like it’s in a certain spot and then generalised cramping which can sometimes feel pretty intense but again it’s pretty transient. Thanks so much for the reassurance, I think I’ll stop worrying now! Thank you!

MrsS7 · 13/04/2019 08:41

I’ve also had low cramping like mild period pain, but it comes and goes. I think it’s probably normal Smile

The worry and anxiety about symptoms coming and going/ general lack of symptoms is driving me insane though Sad
I know it’s probably normal for that to happen around 6 weeks but I felt much more sick around 4/5 weeks, and last night I woke up in the night and was really panicking myself that my boobs don’t feel very sore anymore. Really struggling to think positively!

Pip231018 · 13/04/2019 08:52

@MrsS7 I know exactly what you mean. I was groping myself at work yesterday to see if my boobs were still tender.

It is totally normal for some people to not have any symptoms. I feel your pain as I'm in the same boat. I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and secretly hoping for morning sickness to kick in.

As difficult as it is, try to relax. You have no control over anything, our bodies just need to get on with the job. I'm sure everything will be absolutely perfect in the end! X

IHD83 · 13/04/2019 10:23

@December2018 congratulations and good luck with everything. I’m trying to figure out how I will manage to survive with a baby in the first trimestre, as it’s the most difficult one for me. Yesterday I felt exhausted and I couldn’t take any break as my baby was demanding attention all the time. My partner works during the day and comes late in the evening, so it will be tough these weeks... I just hope I don’t have strong morning sickness, it has been ok so far...

lordofthefries · 13/04/2019 14:19

My family are coming over today and am cooking a roast for them, it’s making me so sick but I’m so hungry.

December2018 · 13/04/2019 14:24

@IHD83 yeah I'm exactly the same I think the happiness outweighs the worry though, I'm just thinking positive, they will be the best of friends and do everything together
And I don't need to buy anything because I've got it all ha!... unless we have a girl 💓

IHD83 · 13/04/2019 14:40

@December2018 yes! Better to think in possitive. My worries are basically the risks or complications, but I talked to my health visitor and she said it is more about the uterous handling the new fetus, as is still recovering from the recent birth. Apart from that, it doesn’t have to be complicated or risky...Just make sure to eat healthy, take vitamins and follow doctor’s advise. I asked about the birth and she said, by that time, my pelvic floor should be fine. So let’s see how it goes. Hope my baby distracts me from my pregnancy so it will go smooth... We can get in touch through this website, if you want, so we don’t feel so alone in this journey! ;)

IHD83 · 13/04/2019 14:41

And yes...we have a boy as well, so we would have everything if it is another boy. Although if it’s a girl, some of the clothes are useful anyway 🤣

lordofthefries · 13/04/2019 14:49

We’re sort of hoping it’s a little boy this time, we can use all of DS’s things and it means they can share a bedroom too. I also have loads of boys names I want to use, but no girls names

December2018 · 13/04/2019 15:11

@IHD83 yeah it's so nice having someone in the EXACT same position as me to talk too lol
I was just googling the health issues just now I have t even been to the doctors yet I got my positive clear blue digital today
Exactly the same time as last year with my little boy lol
It's the picking baby up when I get heavier that's worrying me the most 😂😳

Elliebaby1 · 13/04/2019 15:19

December2018 · 13/04/2019 15:34

@Elliebaby1 hi hun I had this during my last pregnancy, everything was fine, if it's bright red you should get yourself checked over but Brown is totally normal hun

IHD83 · 13/04/2019 15:36

@December2018 Well, try not to look too much in internet because sometimes worries you more than helping...But saying that, I am a kind of person that googles always 🤣
Yes, picking up my baby worries me too, specially because we live in a second floor with no lift...😫
I always leave the buggy donwstairs and take my baby afterwards...but not sure how it will be with a big belly. He is around 7kg right now

Elliebaby1 · 13/04/2019 15:40

@December2018 oh thank you that does make me feel better ! It’s defo not bright red thank god!
How exciting your little one will be so close to the next baby 😍 my sisters are like that are are best friends it’s so lush

Thund4rcat · 13/04/2019 15:55

Hi everyone, I just got my BFP yesterday. Expected due date 17th December.

We have been TTC for 2 years and this was our second cycle of ICSI. My first ended in a CP but we only ever had a very faint positive... This one is very strong.

I also have adenomyosis so am nervous because that gives me a double chance of miscarriage.

Because I did IVF my clinic has already booked me in for an early scan on 2nd May. Cannot wait until 12 weeks have gone and can hopefully worry a bit less.

Am so happy to finally be pregnant after such a hard journey to get this far.

LetsDoThisAgain · 13/04/2019 16:21

Just joining in, was in the November thread. Smile

Had a reassurance scan today, we thought since my last period was early February, that I was 9 weeks along.

Turns out I'm 6 weeks, putting my due date in the first week of December, so here I am.

HS31 · 13/04/2019 17:54

Hi I'm completely new to this site and need some advice. I would be expecting in December if the pregnancy had continued but tbh I'm not sure what's going on. So I had a positive test on the 4th saying 2-3 weeks on clear blue. On Monday I started to bleed and it continued all week wasn't painful just had period like aches in my back and legs. The bleeding had clots in but never really heavy . So basically I had scans at epu yesterday and my uterus was empty but next to uterus where my ovary should be seen was a mass. I was told they are unsure what's happened with pregnancy but could be an ovaruan cyst. I'm so confused and wondered if anyone else may know anymore about this. I don't know if ive had a miscarriage or is this possible ectopic but maybe the mass is covering it?? Please help im gping out of my mind. Thanks xx
